Chapter 3
Ronnie: Yes, Jack. Of course I will!
Jack hands the big, blue diamond ring to Ronnie, who kisses him. Meanwhile, the stall is very quiet. Danielle decides that now would be the best time to ask Stacey what's wrong with her.
Danielle: Stace, what's wrong with you?
Stacey: Look I don't know what it's got to do with you! I'm going home all right!
Danielle: Well who's going to look after the stall?I'm heading home, mum just text.
Stacey: THEN SHUT THE BLOODY STALL COS GUESS WHAT DAN? I DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She storms off, leaving Danielle standing alone. Danielle looks at her, turns around and heads towards her mums. When she gets there, she sees Jack and Ronnie. She smiles, and walks into the flat.
Ronnie: Danielle, Jack and I have something to tell you.......We're getting married.
Jack: Are you OK with that, Danni?
Danielle: Yea I am. I just have other stuff on my mind. Ummmm I'm going to go over and see Stacey for a bit. She hasn't seemed herself in a few days and she's really snappy.
As Danielle heads over to Stacey's, she bumps into Mo.
Mo: Where are you going?
Danielle: To see Stacey. I'm worried about her. She's acting very strangely.
Mo: You and me both, she hasn't been like this in years.
Danielle: Are you coming to see her then?
Mo: No, I'll talk to her later. I have to go and see Fat Elvis about the stock.
Danielle smiles and walks off. She goes up to the front door of Stacey's house and knocks. Stacey answers. She leaves the door open and walks back into the living room, not saying a word. Danielle walks in and closes the door. She follows Stacey into the living room.
Danielle: What's wrong? What have I done? You snapped at me for no reason today.
Stacey: Nothing, I'm sorry for snapping at you. I just have other stuff on my mind and I don't really feel well.
Danielle: I'm going to stick the kettle on, OK? Why don't you lie down?
As soon as Danielle leaves, Stacey lies down and places her hand on her stomach and closes her eyes. A while later, she wakes up and sees Danielle looking at her suspiciously.
Danielle: What is wrong with you?
Stacey: What do you mean?
Danielle: Well, you're yelling at people for no reason, you aren't drinking, you're hormones are all over the place and you're wearing tracksuits more than usual. Just tell me, Stacey, please. I'm your best friend.
Stacey: Fine, I'm pregnant. OK?
Danielle: Congratulations. Who's the daddy?
Stacey: I don't know, it's either Bradley, Callum or Paul.
Stacey whispers the last name hoping Danielle overlooks it. Danielle looks at Stacey, hurt in her eyes, she walks out. Stacey goes out after her, calling her name. Danielle, hurt and annoyed, ignores her and walks on. Stacey bumps into Roxy who is going back to the Vic. Roxy notices the tears in Stacey's eyes. She brings her back to the house.
Roxy: What's happened?
Stacey: Danielle knows, and she knows I slept with Paul.
Roxy: When is your scan?
Stacey: In a few hours, can you come with me?
Roxy: Yea sure, but I know how we can tell whose baby it is.
Stacey: How?
Roxy: When did you sleep with Paul?
Stacey: A month ago.
Roxy: What about Bradley?
Stacey: 2 months ago
Roxy: What about Callum?
Stacey: A month and a half ago.
A few hours later, they are sitting in the Doctor's Surgery. Roxy watches as Stacey shakes with nervousness. A few minutes later, the doctor calls them into his office.
Dr Meade: Hello, Miss Slater, my name is Dr Daniel Meade and I will be your doctor. Now lets see....yes you are pregnant.
Roxy: How far along is she?
Dr Meade: She's about 6 weeks so about a month and a half.
Stacey and Roxy smile. A few hours later, they are sitting in the Vic with Sean.
Sean: Who's is it?
Stacey: Callum's! I'm going to ring him, let him know.
Stacey goes and rings Callum. She meets up with him.
Callum: What do you want to drink, babes?
Stacey: Just a coke. Listen, we need to talk.
Callum gets the drinks and sits down. He hears despartion and nervousness in her voice.
Callum: What's wrong with you? Are you OK?
Stacey: I...I...I...I...I'm pregnant. It's yours.
