Hope you enjoy my dears. :)
The buzzing of the alarm woke James; he let out a groan and reached out his arm to turn it off. He opened his eyes, remembering the events of the night before, the dream seemed so real and still weighed heavily on his mind. Reaching out his arm, Olivia's spot on the bed was cold. He sat upright and looked about the room. She could not be gone. He spoke to her last night about the nightmare.
His heart constricted what if he dreamed that too. He was about to get out of bed when Olivia walked in with a breakfast tray in hand.
"Oh good you're awake, I thought we could…"
She stopped what she was about to say when she saw the lost look on James face. She quickly walked over to the bed and placed the tray down on the bedside table.
"What's wrong?" Her voice held worry, as she sat on the bed.
"I woke up and you weren't here. I thought I dreamed telling you everything, on top of losing you."
He looked to her, "Oli, I don't know what's real anymore. Heck, this full conversation may not even be real."
The mixture of confusion and despair in his voice, caused Olivia to sit there dumbfounded, she could only imagine what was going through his head. How he managed to cope with this all these years without telling anyone, and remain sane she did not know. One thing she did know was that she was going to help him get through this hell or high water. She was not going to lose that man she loved to his own mind.
Reaching out she punched him on the arm none too gently.
"What the bloody hell was that for?" He rubbed his arm.
"To prove to you that here in this time and moment, everything that is happening is real."
"There could have been a better way to prove that to me."
"Oh for god's sake, you'll live, it was only a pinch, and would you really have listened or believed me if I did it another way?"
"Probably not."
"I thought so. We will find a way to stop these dreams; you cannot keep going on like this, it will drive you to madness, and I have to say I quite like having you sane, even though there is sometimes I think you are already mad with the bloody stunts you pull." She took his hand in hers.
James let out a small chuckle. "You always have to bring that up, don't you?"
"Yes, because maybe one day you will realise, what an idiot you can be, but that aside, I promise you James. We'll get through this and you won't have to face it alone."
James placed a kiss on the back of her hand, "How did I get so lucky?"
"I think you know the answer to that."
"Mm, that I do." His lips captured hers in a deep kiss that Olivia gladly returned, letting out a moan as his tongue worked wonders in her mouth.
After a few moments, she pulled back, looked into his eyes, and gave him a smile.
"Now let's have breakfast, and then we will call Mallory and arrange a meeting with him to discuss our plan."
James let out a sigh, he still thought this idea was dangerous, but he would go through with it for Olivia's sake.
"Fine, but I'm still not telling him about the premonition."
"I never expected you too." She picked up the tray from the table and placed it on the bed between them.
"Now be quiet and eat."
"Yes Ma'am"
She was going to tell him off for his cheek, but decided not to. It was nice to seem act somewhat like his usual self.
Bond looked at the tray and gave a smile at the continental style breakfast she had made for them. There was a plate containing two croissants, two bowls filled with summer fruits and yogurt, two glasses of orange juice, as well as a knife and two spoons. He let out a grin when he saw she had remembered the strawberry jam, although he should not be surprised she did.
M saw his eyes searching over the food, and had to stop a laugh from escaping when she saw his eyes light up when they landed on the jam.
"I take it you approve, then James."
"Most certainly, you know how much I love it when you make us breakfast." He leaned over and gave her a kiss, then tucked into the feast in front of him.
She rolled her eyes as she watched him smother the croissant with jam, he always did have an enormous sweet tooth. She gave a shake of her head, before joining him in eating.
Once they had finished, M stood up and picked up the tray.
"You go shower and get ready, while I phone Mallory."
"Do you not want to join me in that shower, will save us time."
Olivia gave him a smirk. "Nice try James, the quicker you get that shower, the quicker we can get this day over with."
James gave her a mock pout "Fine, but you're making it up to me later."
"Oh, will I, really? You seem so sure of yourself."
"We both know I'm hard to resist."
Olivia let out a laugh as he puffed out his chest a little. Shaking her head, she made her way out of the bedroom, before turning to look back at James, who had a smug grin on his face.
"Maybe you are hard to resist James, but it's a shame I already have plans tonight, otherwise you wouldn't be leaving that bed when we get home."
"What do you mean you have plans tonight?"
"Eve has arranged a girl's night out. I told you a few weeks ago."
"Do you have to go?"
Olivia's eyes softened at the saddened look on his face. "It will only be for a few hours. I'll be back before you know it."
"Fine,I Suppose I can share you for a few hours."
"Well, I'm glad we have that established. Now go for that shower."
Olivia continued on to her destination and let out a small smile when she herd James mutter a "Yes Ma'am."
Once in the kitchen, she started to place the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, before grabbing the phone. She waited until she heard the sound of the shower starting then started to dial Malloy's number. After a few rings, he answered.
"Mallory."
"Mallory, it's M."
"What do I owe the pleasure?"
"Something has come up and we need your help."
"What's happened?"
"It's not something I want to discuss over the phone. Do you think we could meet in my office in an hour's time? I'll explain everything there."
"I understand I'll be there."
"Thank you. I'll see you in an hour."
"You too."
Olivia hung up the phone, placed it back on the counter and made her way back to their bedroom. James still had not come out from the shower. Walking over to the door, she could hear music coming from the other side. Biting her lip, she had to stop herself from laughing when she heard his off key voice singing along.
Opening the door, she quietly made her way into the bathroom and stopped in her tracks. She didn't know what was more hilarious, the way that Bond was using the shower head as a mic, or the fact he was thrusting his hips like a mad man.
'No don't get me wrong ain't gonna do you no harm no, this bomb's made for lovin' and you can shoot it far.'
Her body started to shake with silent laughter watching the naked wet form of James dancing in the shower. If he slipped, she would not know whether to help him, or laugh, but would probably be both.
'Make me explode although you know the route to go to sex me slow slow baby.'
She could feel her eyes water, and had to grab hold of the sink to hold herself up, her body still shaking with laughter as his voice went deep to accommodate the song. Oh, how she wishes she had a camera to record this.
'Sexbomb sexbomb M's a sexbomb, She can give it to me when I need to come along.'
She raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow at the change of lyrics and shook her head fondly.
'Sexbomb sexbomb Olivia is my sexbomb, And baby she can turn me on turn me on darlin'
"Well, I'm glad I have that effect on you James."
James quickly spun to the sound of her voice and lost his footing, falling onto the shower floor.
Olivia was torn between laughter and helping him. The laughter finally won as it echoed around the room.
"Are you… alright James?" She said between laughs, as she finally made her way over to the shower.
"I'm fine." He quickly stood up and looked towards Olivia, who was still laughing.
"I'm glad you find it funny." He rubbed his backside as he felt the pain there.
"I wish I could have recorded it, but seriously though James. Are you alright?"
James let his own smile break free "Did you enjoy the show?"
"I did indeed." She gave him a come-hither look.
"But I think it's time you got ready. We meet Mallory in an hour."
James gave her a pout and turned off the shower. "Fine, the shower is all yours."
She watched as he made his way from the room.
"James."
He stopped and turned.
"If you want, when I come home tonight from my night out with Eve, you can continue your little show and you can thrust those hips of yours as much as you like." She gave him a wink.
"Damn it Oli, now I'm going to think about that all day." He mock whined at her.
"Well, as they say all good things come to those who wait." She told him sweetly.
"I'm holding you to that."
She let out another laugh and watched as he left the bathroom, wrapping his towel around his waist as he did so. Quickly taking her own shower, she walked out the bathroom fifteen minutes later, towel wrapped around her to see James sitting on the bed, dressed in his suit, his eyes following her as she made her way over to the wardrobe.
She reached out her hand for her black suit, when she felt James arms wrap around her waist.
"Wear the grey one. I love you in that one." He whispered in her ear.
"Do you really? What shall I wear under it, then?"
"If it was up to me nothing, but since I don't share. I think the black dress."
"So, not the blouse then?"
"Not when you're meeting Mallory. I want his eyes on your face, not your chest."
"Not every man is you James."
"Maybe not, but I've seen the way agents look at you when you wear that blouse."
She turned around to face him, "Why James, one would think you were jealous."
"Damn right I was. And I've never been jealous before."
"You have nothing to be jealous of. I chose you James, no one else."
James eyes sparkled with delight, "That you did."
Olivia gave him her own smile, and then turned to get her grey suit jacket and black dress. She let out a sigh when she felt James place small kisses at the back of her neck.
"As much as I love this James, I need to get changed."
"I'm sure Mallory won't mind if we are a few minutes late." He murmured against her skin, causing Olivia to shiver.
"Maybe he won't, but I will."
"I had a feeling you were going to say that. All right, I'll relent for now, but tonight you're mine."
The possessiveness in his voice was unmistakable; she was looking forward to what he had planned for her. His arms left her, and she felt empty without him close.
"I'll be in the living room, unless you've changed your mind?"
"I'm not even going to answer that."
"I thought you wouldn't." He failed to hide the humour in his voice as he left her to get dressed.
Forty-five minutes later, Olivia and James were finally heading to headquarters, after Olivia spent twenty of those trying to get him to keep his hands to himself, even though secretly she loved the way he acted around her.
"A penny for your thoughts?" He looked towards her from the corner of his eye.
"I think my thoughts are worth more than that, wouldn't you say?"
"They are, but I'm not paying more because chances are you won't tell me in case I get ideas." He gave her a grin and looked towards her.
"You would be right there. A woman never kisses and tells."
"I thought as much." His attention now back on the road.
The rest of the journey was made in comfortable silence, and before they knew it James was pulling into Six. After checking in with security and parking the car. The two of them made their way to M's office with five minutes to spare.
"Good Morning Ma'am, James. Gareth Mallory is waiting in your office for you."
"Morning Eve, thank you for letting me know. Where is Tanner?"
"He's down In Q branch, apparently Q has developed something new that needed approval, and since you weren't in, Tanner went in your place."
"Let's hope it's nothing that blows up the department again."
"Come on M, it wasn't that bad and you have to admit it was fun."
M looked to James, "May be for you, but you weren't the one that had to deal with the Minister."
Not waiting for a reply M made her way into her office, leaving James and Eve looking at each other. Eve shook her head as James gave her a wink and followed her.
"Thank you for coming Gareth, I know it was short notice, but it couldn't wait."
Mallory stood up from his seat when he heard her office door open and her voice vibrating through the room.
"It's fine M, what is this all about? You seemed rushed over the phone."
James closed the office door behind him and made his way over to the spare seat that was next to Mallory's.
"Yes, well a matter has come up and we need to help to deal with it."
M placed down her bag, hung up her coat on the coat rack, and took her seat behind her desk.
"What matter would this be?" Mallory asked, confused.
M looked over to James and saw him tense at what they were about to discuss.
"As you know, Bond and I are getting married this coming Friday."
"Yes, I'm aware of that fact, it took both of you long enough." He looked between them both feeling the tension that was surrounding them.
"Please, tell me you both haven't gone off the idea?"
"No far from it. It's just we have been given a letter by an anonymous source threatening that they are planning to try something at the wedding."
"Do you have this letter with you now?"
"No, James tore it up when he read it."
Mallory lets out a sigh, "You do realise that if you had kept it, we could have ran it for prints?"
"I was aware of that, but the last thing I was worried about was finding prints when they threatened to kill my future wife."
"Did they say how they planned to carry out this attack?"
M looked over to James who subtly shook his head.
"No, which Is where I need you to come in. I need you to place agents at both exits and entrances to the church as well as agents stationed in the rafters. If they use the rafters it gives them a clear shot of the ground below."
"Well, only this could happen when it involves you two. Do either of you have an idea as to who may be behind this?"
"It could be anyone, I've pissed off God knows how many people and I'm sure M has had her share few as well."
James thought back to the whole Silva fiasco, yes, there was no doubt M had her enemies just as much as he did.
"This is going to make matters more difficult. I hope you both realise this."
"We do, but we are hoping by continuing with the wedding there is a chance we can capture our assailant and find out what we need to know."
"Are you sure this is wise M, putting yourself at risk?"
"Thank you, someone who agrees with me. Maybe you can convince her otherwise Mallory, believed me, I've tried."
M felt a flash of anger go through her, she knew they cared but it was her life, and she would be going through with this wedding even if he had to drag James down the aisle with his ear.
"We have been through this James. This way we know where they will attack, rather than looking over our shoulders every minute of every day."
Mallory had a feeling there was more to this than they were letting on, but he would leave it for now.
"As much as I hate to admit it, she does have a point Bond."
"Just because she has a point doesn't mean it's the right one."
James felt himself becoming frustrated that she couldn't see it from his point of view. He didn't want to lose her, he knew himself, he had some kind of curse. He was like a poison, whenever he got close to a woman, they wound up dead. He already nearly lost her, and this time he might.
"I appreciate your concern James, I know you are worried, but it's the best course of action we have."
Mallory not wanting to be in the crossfire of their lovers tiff decided to wrap up their little meeting.
"I'll get everything arranged M, hopefully your day will go off without a hitch."
"We appreciate that, don't we James?"
"Yes, but if they manage to carry out their task, I'm holding you responsible."
"Don't worry Bond, I'll have agents at every area of the building they have no chance."
James knew it was the best reassurance he was going to get, and simply gave him a nod.
"Right, well if that's all I go and get everything arranged and leave you both to it."
Mallory rose from his seat and gave the both of then a nod.
"Thank you again Gareth." M told him sincerely.
"I'm glad you felt you could trust me. I'll make sure everything is fool proof Bond, you have my word."
"I'm holding you to that."
"James!"
"It's fine M, he's just being protective over someone he loves can't fault a man for that. It's hard to find a love like yours in this day and age. That being said I'll see you both on Friday."
M watched as Mallory left her office and the door had closed before she turned to James.
"What the hell was that?"
"What was what?"
M gave him a disapproving look, "You know fine well what! Mallory will make sure everything is covered James, so why the hostility? Do you not trust him? He more than proved himself with the mess with Silva."
"I know that! And I do trust him, but there are so many what if's with this plan. I don't think you actually realise how hard it is for me to let you walk into danger, knowing that this plan could fall apart at any minute!"
"I'm aware of the consequences James, I wasn't born yesterday! I just don't want to wait in having to marry you! Time isn't exactly on my side is it?"
"You've got years in you yet." His tone went softer, losing the frustration that it held only moments before.
"That's the thing with time; you never really know what's round the corner, well for us with non-premonition abilities anyway. I would rather take the risk knowing that we finally beat the odds, even if it is only for a few moments I would be happy knowing my last minutes were with you as your wife."
James tried to look anywhere other than the woman in front of him. M rose from her seat and walked round until she was in front of James kneeling down and taking his hands in hers.
"We need to try to stop thinking about the 'what if's' and start to think about what happens afterwards. After all, we do have that honeymoon to look forward too, would be a shame to miss it."
"It definitely would since I have plans for us not to leave the bedroom for the first few days."
M let out a laugh, "same old James." She fondly told him.
James pulled her up and onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her.
"I don't suppose we could take the rest of the day off now everything has been dealt with Mallory."
The hopefulness In his voice didn't go unnoticed by her. "Nice try James, but you have that tray of paperwork that needs doing."
"Can't it wait. I can think of something better to do with my time." He wiggled his eyebrows at her.
"Mm would that be something or someone? And you know the rules, no funny business at the office."
"It's a stupid rule, if you ask me."
"Well, it's a good thing I didn't ask you then isn't it?"
"You're too damn smart for your own good." He was mere inches away from her mouth.
"If you're done talking, I'm willing to bend the rules for a few moments." She slyly told him.
James wasted no time in capturing her mouth with his, causing Olivia to let out a moan as his tongue sensually explored the warm cavern of her mouth. She wrapped her arms around his neck and held him in place enjoying the sensation of the kiss he was bestowing upon her. She could feel his hand travel up her stocking clad leg and smiled against his lips.
She reluctantly broke the kiss and grinned when she heard him let out a whine.
"Your few moments are up James."
"You're a bloody tease."
Her reply was cut short when there was a knock at her office door.
"Can we never get a minutes peace around here." James groaned unhappily.
Olivia ignored him and instead told the person to enter, while slapping James hands away when they tried to slip under her dress. The door opened and she made her way to stand up when his arms tightened their hold around her keeping her in position.
"Ma'am. Oh God, I'm sorry."
"It's fine Eve. James was just leaving."
"I was?"
"Yes, you have paperwork to finish."
He let out a huff and let her leave his lap, before standing up himself. Eve had to hold in a laugh at seeing the great Bond acting like a twelve year old.
"Fine, I know where I'm not wanted."
Olivia shook her head at his antics, and gave him one last lingering kiss, causing Eve to divert her eyes, but couldn't help the grin that lit up her face.
"There, that should tie you over for a few hours at least."
"I suppose it will have to. I'll see you in a few hours."
Olivia gave him a nod and watched as he left her office, closing the door behind him.
"So, what is it you wanted to see me about Eve?"
"What? Oh, it was about tonight to see if we were still on?"
"Of course, why wouldn't we?"
Eve gave her a knowing look, "If you would rather spend the night with James, I won't mind."
Olivia perched herself on the front of her desk. "I'm sure James can survive a few hours without me, besides it will be nice to get out for a few hours."
"If you're sure Ma'am, I'll meet you outside Café Royale at eight then?"
"Eight will be fine."
Eve made her way to leave the office, before she stopped.
"Was there anything else?"
Eve turned back to her biting her lip.
"I was wondering if everything was okay. Forgive me for intruding Ma'am, but you seeing Mallory at this time something must be wrong."
Olivia folded her arms over her chest, "Perceptive as always Eve, everything is fine though I just needed to go over some details with him on Friday about security."
"You don't think someone will try anything do you?" Eve asked, worried for her boss, and James.
"No, but it's always better to be prepared in any case." She semi lied.
"Why not inform Tanner?" Eve was curious to know, he was her chief of staff after all.
"No point in worrying him. Besides, it's about time that man relaxed and got a break for a few hours."
She noticed Eve still didn't look convinced, but didn't say anything further for which he was glad.
"Honestly Eve it will be all right. Trust me."
Eve gave a nod and continued on her way, leaving Olivia alone with her thoughts. Once she was sure, the coast was clear she quickly made her way round to her desk and picked up the phone and dialled the number she know too well. After a few minutes, the person on the other end picked up.
"Q, I need you do something for me, but keep it quiet. This is strictly between us."
"What do you need Ma'am?"
"I think it's time we put that invention you created a while back to some use. I'll be down in a few hours."
"I'll have it ready Ma'am."
"Thank you Q"
She hung up the call and started on her tasks, determined that with Q's help Friday may go better than all of them expected, or so she hoped.
