Rainbow Infinity IV
After the curse was lifted, Lal sadly became an adult while Colonnello stayed a kid who would grow up.
"It's okay, Colonnello, I'll look after you, and it will be like the past." A slight smile.
"Won't people say I'm your kid? I would hate that. I'm not your kid." Frown.
"It's okay. As long as we know. It's my offer. Take it, before I regret asking you." Blush.
"Yes Madam!" Slight blush.
And so, Lal patiently stayed by Colonnello side. Instead of the expected strange relationship, it was not quite strange, but not the usual love life you would go through as well.
There was plenty to talk about and many things to laugh at together: Lal insisted on showering Colonnello while he refused and when she realised what helping him shower would make her see, she blushed innocently and apologised. Colonnello's voice broke, his adam apple appeared and he even grew a mustache for a while to try to look older. And many other such events.
However, as they realised after a few years after the curse was lifted, Lal did not appear to age at all. Colonnello reluctantly approached Verde. After some tests, he confirmed that her cells were mysteriously not ageing. Verde was interested and volunteered to measure the age of her cells every one or two years.
He also suggested a logical theory of that since she was part of the curse and was under the mysterious light years ago, she was affected but maybe differently– she might not age until the rest of the acrobaleno was the same age or slightly older than her.
And so, amidst happy times, many long years have passed. Colonnello is having his 20th birthday celebration. Verde confirmed Lal is 19 years old this year, having started ageing the year before.
"Kora, you can't drink! You're underage! And you-" Colonnello was cut off.
"Just a little? I'm having pregnancy blues." Pout.
"All the more you shouldn't drink, kora. Think of baby Cololal."
Lal blushed. "Hmmm, alright. Happy birthday, papa Colonello."
"Kora, this is the best birthday present and possibly birthday bash ever, mama Lal!" Lal blushed harder.
Colonnello put his palm to her very slight baby bump, his other hand at her cheek, guiding her in for a kiss.
And so they kissed…
For years to come that they will be together.
