Yu-Gi-Oh Prince and the Pauper
Chapter Four: Mariku's Choice and Courtney's Discovery
Mariku sighed as he heard Bakura banging on the door. He was half-tempted to let the whitette go since he didn't even like working for Tea anyways.
Malik was trying to balance a spoon on his nose. "Brother, it won't stay on!"
The older Egyptian rolled his eyes. "It's not supposed to... Now stop playing around before Lady Tea sees you and punishes us both."
Malik put down the spoon, pouting slightly. "B-but brother..."
"Malik... please," Mariku said, his tone slightly pleading yet annoyed.
Suddenly, they both heard a scream from the room where the prince was locked up.
Malik ran to the door. "What's wrong?"
"Help! There's a thief in here!" Bakura yelled, secretly holding a lantern in his hands from behind the door.
Malik grabbed the keys and went to unlock the door. Mariku simply watched. He didn't believe the prince. He had been a thief before and he knew that if there was one in there, the prince wouldn't have had time to scream.
But Malik had no such knowledge and before Mariku could stop him, the younger Egyptian had opened the door to the room. A loud smash sounded as the lantern hit Malik over the head. The sixteen year old's body fell to the ground, temporarily knocked out by the smash.
Bakura ran out where Mariku was sitting. He looked at Mariku, prepared to strike.
"Just leave... I was considering letting you go anyways... Lady Tea is a bitch."
Bakura's eyes widened. "L-Lady Tea did this?"
Mariku nodded. "She also made us steal all of the gold out of the mines."
"W-wow..."
Mariku pushed Bakura toward the door. "Now leave."
Bakura nodded and ran out of the shack and quickly jumped onto the horse outside and rode off.
Courtney rode into the forest, following Lady Tea's carriage. Now to find out what she's really up to and what she has to do with Bakura's disappearance...
She saw Tea exit the carriage at a small shack that was in a remote part of the forest.
Tea knocked at the door. "Let me in, you imbeciles!"
The door was answered by Malik, who looked slightly panicked but he faked a smile. "L-Lady Tea, what a surprise!"
Tea scoffed. "What are you talking about, you idiot, I always come here at this time to make sure that you stupid Egyptians don't screw up my plan!"
"W-well about that.."
Mariku came to the doorway. "He escaped."
"WHAT?!" She screeched. She grabbed the collar of Mariku's shirt, pushing Malik to the ground.
Mariku simply looked at her with a calm expression. "He tricked us and escaped on Izzy."
Tea's face slowly grew red before she screeched and slapped him.
"You simpling-simpleton! How could you let him just run off like that?!" She screamed.
Mariku growled and pushed her. "Because your a bitch and a traitor! I've heard that the queen and prince are the nicest people ever and you decide to screw them over like this! Well I won't help you! I've hated you since the moment you first bought me and my brother! The only reason I haven't fucking yelled at you before was to protect him!"
Tea was stunned by his sudden yelling before she smirked. "Oh really... your brother is the reason..." She looked toward Malik with a smirk.
"Hell no," Mariku said.
"I bought you two and saved you from perverts! I think that I deserve to be obeyed! I clothe you and make sure you have a roof over your pathetic little heads! If I have to beat Malik to make you listen, then I will!" Tea yelled, gripping the riding crop strapped to her waist.
"No!" Mariku screamed.
Courtney tiptoed up to the cabin, cursing her dress for being so long. She pulled the hood of her cloak up and looked in the window.
She gasped at what she saw.
No... No...
Tea was standing over Malik with her riding crop in her hand and Mariku was passed out on the floor with his head bleeding slightly.
"That's what you idiots get for letting Bakura go!"
She paused for a moment. "Wait... if he was let go, then why didn't he tell the queen that he was kidnapped... Hm..."
So she did kidnap Bakura... That bitch.. Courtney thought in anger. She'll pay...
"Something's odd.." Tea muttered. "I must solve this puzzle if I am to be queen.."
Courtney's eyes widened from the window. "Queen? Tea?"
Suddenly her hand slipped and a board fell off of the window.
Tea ran outside. "Looking for something, Courtney?"
She hit Courtney across the face with her riding crop.
The brunette cried out. "H-how can you be queen?" She asked before Tea had another man that she had hired stuff Courtney into a large sack. Courtney struggled but to no avail, she couldn't escape.
Tea smirked. "Your the tutor; you're supposed to have all the answers."
Then she walked off.
