Planning Perfection
Chapter Four: Anthony and Masen
Bella's POV
"Bella, get your lazy ass out of bed now before I come and kick the door in!" Alice screeched from the living room. Dress shopping was on the agenda today and I just wanted to crawl into bed and hide. Though of course Alice wouldn't have that.
She had been hunting everywhere for the perfect dress then decided to design her own. She gave the design to a guy who could make it and it was soon to be ready. That meant she was out of the way and Rose and I were in the firing line. We had to find our perfect dresses today as the schedule then became jam packed, and I would know since I am the one having to follow said schedule.
"Bella!" Alice called.
"I'm coming." I said back aggravated. I hate shopping so today was, of course, going to be a nightmare for everyone involved. My bed was still calling to me when I was dressed and showered and entered the living room to see a frustrated looking Alice tapping her foot impatiently against the floor.
"You took forever." She whined.
"Stop exaggerating. I'm ready."
"About time." She grabbed my arm and whisked me down the stairs where Rose was waiting in her car.
I sat in silence as the two of them went over what would look nice and talked about which styles and colours they had in mind. I was their Barbie doll so my input was pointless. Today was their day and there was nothing I could do about it.
We parked and entered the shopping centre, heading up to the top floor where some of the more luxurious shops were. They entered and immediately had the saleswomen's attention who was at their side in seconds. We were directed through to a trying and viewing room before being served with champagne. I just plopped myself down in a chair and waited for Alice and Rose to start dictating to me.
It wasn't long before ten or twelve dresses were brought in and I was made to change into them. Apparently I was the model for today's viewing as I would be kicking up most fuss. Each dress was either too frilly, too revealing, too long, too short, too puffy, had the wrong neckline, or just looked hideous. They were losing patience quickly with the saleswoman who claimed this was some of her best stuff. I had lost my patience hours ago but knew I had to bite my tongue if I was to get through this day without an argument.
They had me in a blue dress that flowed elegantly down my body, showing the curves I had in all the right places, when I was allowed to take a break. Since this store was on the top floor they had access to the balcony overlooking the city. I excused myself, checking it was okay to go outside with this dress on, and then walked out into the cool afternoon air.
"Well don't you just look lovely Mrs Cullen?" I recognised the smooth voice the second he spoke. Slowly I turned to see Edward, kitted out in a tux looking sexy as hell, walking towards me.
As I was leaning against the railing he came and stood behind me, wrapping his arms round my waist and pulling me to his chest as we overlooked the city centre with the bustling streets below.
"Are you thinking of our wedding?" He joked.
"Em…I have a slight memory lapse, tell me about it." He chuckled and nodded.
"Of course my love. We married on a cliff-"
"Nah." I shook my head.
"No cliff?"
"Nope." I said.
"Okay." He smiled then began again. "We married at the country club, in the gardens where we fell in love. The receptionist managed to squeeze us in and we were wed within six months. The place was beautifully decorated and very tasteful. Our friends and family were there, to celebrate our declaration of love to each other. We dined in the sun all afternoon and danced in the moonlight before being whisked off on our honeymoon together in…" He waited for me to finish the sentence.
"Paris."
"…In Paris where we stayed in an apartment overlooking the Eiffel tower and the Seine. We explored the streets and city by day and each other by night."
"And what about your impending work commitments that you had to get to once we were married?" I asked, remembering what he said when we were event hunting.
"I called them off so I could be with my blushing bride."
"Sounds good." I mumbled, rubbing my arms from the cold, to which he held me closer.
"That it does." We stood there in comfortable silence, watching the city move by so fast as we were motionless.
"How's the shopping going for you lot?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"Troublesome as always. Emmett has been messing about with all the different tuxes and ended up ripping one he put on that was too small. Jasper is having a panic attack over which tux goes best between the five Alice pre approved. He doesn't want to disappoint her by picking the wrong one but he doesn't know what the right one is."
"And you?"
"I've been well behaved as always." I didn't quite buy it.
"Mr Cullen we actually do have-" We both turned to the new voice and my eyes took in the blonde figure before me.
"Ah Lauren this is my wife Bella, who I was telling you about?" Edward said calmly, giving me a quick look.
"Of course. I didn't mean to disturb." She said, giving me a glare.
"Not at all. Bella, honey, this is Lauren. She's been very helpful in picking out a good tux for me." With the stress on very it was clear she had been too helpful.
"Just doing my job." Lauren said but it was obvious she was doing all this for more than her job. "So how long have you two been married?"
"Just over a year." Edward answered smiling.
"Any kids?"
"Yes, two." I blurted out before Edward gave me a smirk.
"Yes, two…little boys, Anthony and Masen. They're both one years old." He smiled at Lauren and she politely smiled back but then excused herself, noting that she would probably not get a date with Edward.
"We have children?" Edward asked once the door was shut.
"Apparently." I mumbled as he chuckled. "Anthony and Masen?" I questioned.
"My middle names." He explained. "I couldn't think of anything so fast. I expected you to say no when she asked if we had children so I was a bit taken aback with your response."
"Sorry."
"Don't be. I wouldn't apologise for our children's presence." He smirked and I rolled my eyes. "So who has our boys right now?"
"Your parents."
"Wow. They don't even know I'm married let alone have two sons that they are meant to be looking after. This must be a big surprise for them." He joked.
"Well clearly it's not or we would have received a phone call from them." He nodded but was still smiling, enjoying this little role play.
"Bella we have decided- Oh Edward, hey." Alice said, walking out. Both of us turned and moved apart.
"Hi, how are things going?"
"Not well." She rolled her eyes. "But we're getting there. How's Jasper?" Alice asked eagerly.
"Doing good." He lied. "We're here shopping for tuxes."
"I gathered, I really don't think you would wear that for any other reason." She indicated to his outfit.
"Well I will leave you to it. See you again." He nodded at Alice and me before walking back along the balcony and entering the store next door to ours.
Alice was giving me a curious look so I quickly changed the subject before it started.
"What did you decide?" I asked looking at her squinting eyes.
"That the dress you're wearing is perfect and we'll take it." She said after a few seconds before we went back inside. Rose was already to leave and she had picked one while we were outside, and Alice trusted her decision so didn't even look twice at the dress.
I changed as fast as I could then met them outside the store. Alice was having all the dresses delivered to our apartment therefore no bags. We went to the rooftop restaurant and got a table for three. Our lunch there was spent discussing wedding plans, what else?
I was dreading the next requirement on my list. The dancing lessons. I have two left feet and no doubt Edward will have broken toes by the end of it all. As best man and maid of honour we have to have a dance together so what's better than to practice with one another. I personally think I could fake being sick and maybe not go but if Alice found out she would kill me. After the wedding.
Dancing just wasn't my strong point but I was hoping Edward was at least a bit good so we didn't look like complete fools out on the dance floor. Even though the wedding was going to be quite a while away we were getting all this ready now so were fully prepared, or at least that's what Alice said.
I think that she's just going to spring a date on us and make us stick to it. Hopefully it won't be too soon or Edward and I are screwed. There are still loads of things on our lists we have to do and although we are trying everything is going well it couldn't be going slower.
Alice knows that we haven't done some things, as we agreed as a group we would do them, but with everything else I'm pretty sure she thinks it's all taken care off. If worst comes to worst I could get Edward to inform Jasper so he can get Alice to slow the proceedings down.
Lunch was fun and we headed back to the car to go home, where I just wanted to crawl into bed and sleep. On the way to the car we ran into the guys and they came over, smiling cheerfully. Emmett was the first one to see us and screamed 'Petal!' over the car park so we were then alerted to their presence.
"Hey." Edward murmured to me. "I have something for you."
"What?" I asked a little worried. He handed me an envelope that was about the size of an A5 piece of paper.
"Open it in private unless you want to let them in on the joke." He said, indicating to the other four.
"Okay, thanks."
"You're welcome." We all bid our goodbyes as the guys had to go off to get more things organized.
Once in the back of the car, away from Rose and Alice's eyes, I pulled out the envelope and opened it quietly while they discussed the saleswoman. It was a picture of a two little boys standing next to a couple, all smartly dressed, with their backs to the camera, overlooking the city of Paris with the Eiffel tower in plain view. On the picture it said in Edward's scrawl:
'Wedding Present 2008- this time we take the boys and perhaps see if we can make a little girl.'
I laughed quietly and shook my head. Somehow today I found out I had been married to Edward for one year and we had twin boys, Anthony and Masen. This joke was getting more elaborate by the minute and I couldn't even begin to think what we would discover next time we met.
