Shardclaw: And welcome again to a new chapter to this somewhat growing popular DMC x K-ON! fic, sorry for the long wait as I had real life and anime/gaming related stuff to deal with during updates. I may or may not have said this before, but 2013 has had some great anticipated games so far, but recently I just got a hard to get copy of The Last Of Us from Naughty Dog and it was probably one of the BEST games I've ever played, that game is worthy for a Game of the Year title (second to recently released Beyond: Two Souls and GTA 5, but we'll see) and Joel and Ellie were such memorable characters. Anyone who has a PS3 and haven't played it yet, you're missing out on a gem.
I'm hoping you readers are enjoying what offerings this story is having so far, because things are going to kick up a couple of notches from this chapter, both story and action-wise. Aside from having a well known classic version of DMC's popular antagonist now being part of this story, you're in store for some very epic stuff ahead.
Let's not waste any more time, time to get the chapter rolling. Also, thanks to DarkFusion yet again for correcting me on the spelling of Azusa's name during the previous chapter.
Rebellion's Song
Chapter 4: The DarkSlayer's Return
In a secluded location somewhere in Japan, somewhere deep in a murky cavern, a group of the demon hybrids were conversing with each other and sharing information based on what they found so far about the famed and feared Son of Sparda being in Japan.
"…and that's what we have learned about him so far from our sources." One of the demon minions spoke through a coarse voice. "It seems his power hasn't shown any signs of diminishing over the time we've known he's been in Japan."
"Quite the opposite, it appears that he has only gotten stronger over time. This could prove troublesome for the Master's plans." His fellow demon comrade said. "Unless we start stepping up the game, he's only going to become a thorn on our side."
"I agree, we're going to have to deal with that son of Sparda very soon and get to those girls, for that is what our master requires for his revival." The demon replied back. "What about that spy we sent to look over the situation at that school, any word from him?"
"He says that Dante is sticking close to those girls with every possible chance he can get, it's making it hard for him to keep track on their movements."
"Then, we need to make the first move soon, I can't stand all this waiting when our Master wants his deeds done." The demon said as he suddenly looked up to see a tall male figure at the entrance behind them. Looking alarmed, the demon posed for an attack. "You?! But you're supposed to be…?!"
"You're awfully pitiful if you think you can cover your tracks from one such as I, you're quite feeble for demon henchmen." The figure spoke, stepping forward to reveal himself as the blue coat wearing, cold and calculating, Vergil.
"So, the fallen son of Sparda, who later turned into the Nelo Angelo himself, the former dog to the demon Emperor, Mundus, has appeared before us." One of the demons spoke boldly. "Whatever your business here is, we won't allow you to interfere with them, even if you're the twin of that dreaded Dante!"
"I suppose warning you about what would happen if you don't answer my questions regarding your afore mentioned master is out of the question." Vergil said in his usual deadpan tone.
"You'll never get to hear what you want when we'll stop you!" The same demon shouted, increasing in size and height, his muscles bulging with red veins appearing throughout its body while its claws extended outwards. He then charged at Vergil who simply cocked his head and reached for his katana. He suddenly went into his Rapid Slash stance, lowering his body and dashing towards his opponent with his katana drawn out, creating several waves of air slashes behind him, a few catching the demon in surprise as it was caught in the air wave movements and lost its momentum for it to be caught while in mid air.
"You're going down." Vergil said simply, as he used his demonic magical powers to summon a row of six blue magical swords that started to surround his waist that was called the Spiral Sword. Catching the demon in his Spiral Swords, he then started to slash at the air borne juggled demon with a quick swing of his katana, before he turned the blade upwards with an upwards thrust, slashing the demon's body up higher.
"Go." Vergil suddenly commanded his Spiral Swords to then become the Summoned Swords, as the spinning Spiral Swords from before changed form into an arch that surrounded Vergil's sides from his arms and over his head, pointing at the demon. Then, with a raised fist, each of the swords repeatedly hit the air borne demon as they homed on its beaten body before at the last second when the last Summoned Sword had dispersed, Vergil then performed an Upper Slash, making the demon rise to its maximum height above the ground. Vergil then lifted his own body using Trick Up to track the demon before it fell, then started to used his Yamato Aerial Rave move, along with the Enemy Step ability to jump on his enemy's body, he then used a series of repeated Jump Cancelled slashes with the sword, repeatedly cutting into the demon with fast and quick slashes while airborne until the demon's body was barely recognizable due to the wounds it received.
"Pathetic." Vergil said simply as the demon's body fell with Vergil landing in style, he then pointed his Yamato to the other demon who stood in fear as he watched his comrade become a new practice dummy for Vergil Sparda.
"Now…if you don't wish to follow the same exact fate as your unfortunate friend over there, you'll do well to answer a few of my questions." Vergil said seriously. "And if I even sense a slight inaccuracy in your words…"
"Alright, alright, I'll talk!" The demon said in a confessing tone. "Just don't kill me!"
"Well…that totally depends on your answer." Vergil said coldly as he held his katana up closer to the demon's throat. This is going to be a bit of a long night for the oldest Sparda twin as he readied himself for receiving some new and vital information that can aid him and Dante later.
The following morning at the Sakuragaoka Girls High School…
"Hmm, a hanabi field trip?" Dante simply asked, dressed in his casual teachers' uniform of a black jacket with strapped buckles across his chest area his, a zipper shirt and dress pants with a bright belt buckle with an insignia on it. (Namely, it's his DMC 4 outfit without the coat.) He was at the teacher's lounge before the start of the morning period's classes where he was conversing with Sawako and a couple other teachers when they brought this up.
"Yes, the principal had just announced it as a means for the class to get some relaxation time before their big exams begin." Sawako said. "Once the girls aren't too busy with their classes, we can give them the time they need to get together and get their minds at peace before then."
"Of course, we have to go as supervisors to keep things in order." One of the male teachers spoke. "With what's going on these days, there's no telling what may happen if any random stranger or pervert would come and harass them."
"Well, you got that assumption correct, for one thing." Dante said as he suddenly thought of the class of 2-B, including the members of the Hokago Tea Time. "And I'm guessing Yui and her friends will also be part of the bunch that's going to this little trip as well?"
"We haven't announced it yet, but yes, they will be also part of the group that's going." Sawako said as Dante nodded.
"I see no problem with that, those girls need the load off as far as their studies and practice sessions go." Dante said. "I say let them have one hell of a time as long they are careful."
"Actually, that's the thing I was wondering you'd come into, Tony-sensei." The other female teacher in the room spoke. "You see, you're becoming quite the talk of the school among them and we were wondering if you can also go with them just for the added company."
Dante smiled a bit as he put down his newspaper and stood up. "Well, I was wondering sooner or later when I'll be invited to the party, I'll be glad to join them. When is this little trip going to take place?"
"Actually, we're planning to have it soon after lunch later, so the girls will get an early break for the day." Sawako said. "Is that alright with you?"
"It's all cool with me, but I was kind of hoping that I'd bring a guest or two for the trip, if you don't mind." Dante replied. "You see, Patty's been on my back wondering when she can hang with the girls once more since the last time she was here, I might as well call her over and tell her she's going on a little excursion with them, I know she wouldn't think twice on refusing the offer."
"Oh, Patty was that girl who was staying with you in the club room from some days ago, right?" Sawako asked as Dante nodded back to her. "You have to introduce me to her if she decides to come, I only heard what she's like from Yui and the others when they met her, she sounds like a nice girl."
"Well, that's only during the times when she is pampered and not acting like a total brat." Dante said. "But, she's still a good kid."
"Isn't she about the same age as Azusa by now?" Sawako asked. "I think they would be good friends if they hung out together."
"They pretty much double teamed me last time they were together, there's no question that they would have no problem hitting it off well." Dante said. "In any case, I got to head to my class for the morning period, but I got to make that call to Patty first. So, if you ladies and gents excuse me…"
"Okay, Tony-san, we'll see you later when we're ready to leave." The male teacher said to Dante as Sawako smiled at him as the demon hunter left the room. As he started walking on the hallway, he reached for his cell-phone to contact Morrison, who was staying with Patty while Dante was at school or on the patrol for demons, when he stopped midway to meet an unpleasant face…that of an almost overweight elderly man, profusely sweating in his gym attire.
"You know, you got a nasty habit of running into me a lot, not to mention, that smell…wooo, you're easily blowing up your cover if you're planning on sneaking around the girls like that." Dante waved his arm across his face. Now that he got a good whiff of the scent coming from the man, he was sure the scent was very familiar from a particular frog demon he took down some time ago…but it couldn't be a coincidence that this man was one in disguise.
"You think you can keep up the charade, don't you?" The man spoke, his voice was coarse than before to Dante's ears. "I KNOW who you're really are…Son of Sparda?"
"Well, unless you're suffering from a really bad hygiene case, I take it you're a demon hybrid." Dante said with a glare, yet still acting cool and calm considering he is in a girl's school and can't afford to blow his cover and expose anyone in it to danger. "I heard of demons that are capable of hiding their identities by using human bodies. I don't come across much of those, especially the Japanese kind, so you almost had me fooled if it weren't for that smell. Now, tell me who the hell are you?"
"Grrr…you certainly hold your reputation in high regard, Son of Sparda. I guess I was the rude one when we first met…my name is Urobuchi, a servant of the demon master in this region." The demon hybrid said.
"Okay, so, tell me, Urobuchi…what's a lowlife demon scum like you doing at a nice and innocent human girl's school like this?" Dante said. "I bet you must be the one looking into their locker rooms and the like just for your perverted amusement while your human host is getting the blame for it, am I right?"
"You're quite correct, this lowly human has no idea that he is being used as my puppet." Urobuchi said. "My master is capable of many great things, I'm certain you're quite aware what would happen if you intend to get in the way. Hence, the reports of the recent attacks to the humans and their disappearances prove a point…"
"So, considering your size and looks, you're just a measly messenger for the one in charge of that mess." Dante said. "What is it you're trying to get by doing this?"
"Are you really that interested?" Urobuchi asked. "If you're so curious, why don't you consider coming with me and I'll show you all you need to know, my Master is quite generous in giving guests an audience."
"Sorry, but nope, and I could care less what he's up to the moment." Dante said as he leaned against the wall, pinning the elderly man against it and the hunter. "Of course, if it involves any of the students here, then that's another story…"
"So, you care deeply about these girls, do you?" Urobuchi asked as if he was taunting Dante. "I knew it, protecting these humans had always been your weakness, and soon it will be your downfall…"
Soon before he finished, Dante's right hand was already around the hybrid's neck with a tight grip. Urobuchi started to choke as Dante raised him higher to glare at him.
"Now listen here, you pudgy creep. I'm getting tired of this little runaround game you and your buddies are playing with me, so I'll get straight to the point." Dante said. "I'm coming to trash your little party if you try anything with the students in this school. You just try it, I dare you."
"You'll come to regret those words, Son of Sparda." Urobuchi said as he looked to the side. "Unless, you want their lives to be in even more danger very soon…"
Dante heard incoming voices and noted one of them was Yui Hirasawa's. She and her fellow HTT club members have just arrived at school and were entering the premises where Dante stood nearby. The demon hunter, a bit pissed off that the lead to finding the demons in the area was literally in his grasp, had to let him go before they turned the corner where they met them.
(This isn't over by a longshot.) Dante thought mentally to Urobuchi as the demon hybrid only smiled evilly at Dante before Yui met her second most favorite teacher after Sawako.
"Ah! Da…I mean, ohaiyo, Tony-sensei!" Yui said as she waved at Dante, causing Ritsu and Azusa to stare at their lead guitarist.
"Yui-sempai, what did you just…?" Azusa asked as Yui simply waved nervously at her younger friend.
"Ah, pay no attention to what I just said, Azu-nyan!" Yui said quickly. (Shimata, I wasn't supposed to say anything about his name just yet to anyone! What should I do?)
"Hey, Yui, good to see you're doing fine, chipper as always." Dante said as he glared to the side at Urobuchi who simply walked away from the demon hunter and scampered off. "Don't worry if you were interrupting anything, I was just wrapping up a talk I was having with him."
"Well, if it's just that, okay?" Ritsu reacted simply, looking at the retreating Urobuchi then back to Dante with a big grin. "Hey, Tony-sensei, Yui was just telling us how you rescued her yesterday evening! Why you never told us you knew martial arts?"
"Now hold on a damn minute. Just how much did she tell you?" Dante asked suddenly as Ritsu stretched her arms open, still grinning.
"Oh, just how you opened several cans of whoop ass on those guys, she did recall every detail how you single-handedly used hand to hand combat and even used a practice sword to make those guys look like real idiots." Ritsu said. "Man, I wished I could have seen it."
"Aw, kid, why did you have to go and do that?" Dante sighed at Yui as she blushed a bit. "I don't want the whole female populace here go nuts over my mad fighting skills if they got wind of it."
"Datte…I really wanted to tell them about how awesome you looked! I really tried to keep it a secret, but then again, Ui was worried too when she called everyone and told them I was in trouble until you rescued me. Then she wanted to know what happened, ano ne…ano ne…" Yui said as Dante simply shook his head. He still hasn't got quite used over her level of cuteness and innocence and admitted defeat yet again.
"Okay, okay, I can understand what you mean." Dante said. "Still, it's really nothing to make such a fuss over, and violence is really never the answer to such problems like that, but hey, those guys are the ones who attacked first. I just acted in self defense, and not to mention, have a bit of fun toying with them."
"Well, I don't like it one bit." Mio said boldly as if she was shaken a bit to know her new English teacher knew how to fight and defend himself. Despite being the one who occasionally clobbers her best friend on the head often for her teasing and behavior, she strongly is against scary stories and things involving blood and pain and is easily the type to be scared by them. It wouldn't be the end of it if Ritsu, being the tomboyish character that she is, got infatuated with learning more of Dante's skills as a fighter, would torment her with how extreme his fights would get. "It's like Tony-sensei says, it's nothing to get overly excited about and a teacher shouldn't act that kind of way, it's a bad example you're showing to students, Tony-sensei."
"Well, excuse me for not being harsh enough on those poor souls, my dear Mio-chan." Dante replied. "I'm sure you wouldn't have objected if it were you caught in that situation instead of Yui, am I right?"
"Ahhh…" Mio flustered to Dante's question, she knew he was right. She didn't want to think about it, but the mere thought of her being helpless in front of those delinquents started to make her shake. "…I get your point, Tony-sensei, but still…you could have gone easy on them."
"But that's what I did!" Dante exclaimed, making the point that he was only holding back his true fighting strength back then even though the girls don't know it. "Ahh, whatever. Just saying it won't satisfy you, I guess."
"Come on, Mio-chan, it's just like he said. Wouldn't you have liked to watch it unfold too if it were you in that spot just like Yui did?" Ritsu asked with her arms behind her head as suddenly, Mio already gave her friend a bump from her punch. "Ow! Why did you do that?"
"B-baka!" Mio shouted. "That is why I didn't want to hear any of it…despite how cool Tony-sensei would look…but that's not the case!"
"Ah ha, so I was right that you wanted to see the action too, huh?" Ritsu asked, despite feeling the pain from Mio's earlier head punch as Mugi tried to ease the commotion in the group. "Your expression shows it, you must be some kind of sadist, aren't you?"
"Ritsuuuu!" Mio exclaimed loudly as she covered her ears.
"Now, now, you two, we still have to be in our classes soon. Save the energy for then." Mugi said with a grin, seemingly enjoying the early fun they were having. "I for one, am curious in the Western fighting techniques that the Americans have developed over the years. If Tony-sensei is highly proficient in them, I wouldn't mind him telling us a thing or two about what he knows."
"Hmm, I just might take you up on that one day, ojou-sama." Dante said coolly causing Mugi to smile to his response as Mio nearly fainted again to Dante's response in his casual suaveness and generosity.
"You too, Mugi!?" Mio exclaimed, almost face-palming herself. "I don't believe you guys…since when did you become like this?"
"I blame Tony-sensei and his wayward behavior since he came to this school!" Yui pointed at Dante. "Of course, that's not totally a bad thing to have though."
"So, you're saying I'm at fault here, huh?" Dante asked as he suddenly poked Yui's stomach at her sides, tickling her. "Take that!"
"Hee-hee, not again!" Yui giggled loudly much to the amusement of her friends, who all seem to like see Yui enjoy herself whenever she was with Dante's company by now.
"Heh, I figured you were the ticklish type." Dante grinned. "I warned you, you'd do your best not to underestimate me when I'm ready for anything you guys throw at me, whether it's just you being you or if any guys like those goons from yesterday want to lay a hand on you. So, is your ankle feeling better than before?"
Yui quickly nodded with a smile as Dante grinned back. "It's not as serious as I thought and it doesn't hurt as much since Ui treated it a little, so I'll be fine, thanks."
"That's good to hear, just don't push yourself today." Dante said as started to walk away before he faced the group one more time. "Because I'm going to make sure you girls will be in for a treat later, so make sure you don't do anything to get too excited over for what I have in store."
"Are we getting another performance by you and Nevan today, Tony-sensei?" Azusa asked, feeling a bit unsure and eager at the same time to witness another exceptional guitar playing session from Dante.
"Oh, something like that." He simply replied. "You just have to wait and see for yourself. In any case, you guys have to head to class, and I as well, so I'll be seeing you around lunch time if anything."
"Okay, then, we'll look out for you later. Ja ne." Ritsu said as she and the other girls waved to Dante while Yui bowed quickly to Dante before she ran off giggling, leaving the demon hunter by himself.
"Now then, before I was interrupted, back to calling up Patty." Dante said as he quickly reached for his cell and dialed for her number, now knowing Urobuchi is a demon hybrid amongst a school full of girls, he has to get some of his equipment on hand in case something happens while he is there. Certainly he can handle most situations barehanded, but without his trademark weapons, the fight can get out of his control and hence, he can only rely only keeping his Nevan and Pandora 666 while at the school since they are both cleverly disguised weapons in the human world.
"Hey, Patty, it's me." Dante said as he got through on the cell.
"Oh, Dante, what is it? Why are you calling me up?" Patty asked while she was at home, in the middle of cleaning their apartment while Morrison helped out.
"Look, I was just calling you up about something that's going to happen at school later and I was hoping you'd come on over for a little field trip the girls are having. I know that you've wanted to meet up back with the Hokago Tea Time since the last time, so I figured; what the heck, invite you and Morrison for the fun of it?"
"But, of course, Dante, anything better than cleaning up after you to pass the time for today." Patty said. "Is there anything you'd want me to bring, which I'm guessing would be the obvious…"
"Well, you did get the strawberry sundae leftovers in mind, but I'm also implying some other…necessities." Dante simply said, causing Patty on the other end to raise an eyebrow. "Listen up good, here's exactly what I need when you come on over…"
The later part of the morning at school…
Soon after the announcement of the field trip that several of the graduating classes were going to have at lunch time, most of the classes were looking forward to meeting their friends and getting some relaxation time for themselves. The HTT club themselves were busy organizing their instruments as much to Yui's sudden impulse to help give their friends a good time, hold a small concert on the location of the trip. Not much to protest to her ideas, her friends opted to help out on the fact that her guitar skills seem to be improving a bit more thanks to Dante's brief involvement in the light music club.
"What do you think Tony-sensei will do when we comes with us?" Yui asked as she made sure her Gitah was secure.
"Knowing him, I bet he's going to do something outrageous and cool again, which I don't mind." Ritsu said in a casual tone as she twirled her drumsticks. Oddly enough, she already surrendered to the fact she will have to get used to his antics like the rest of the girls in the music club in the coming future since he more or less is a new advisor for the club along with Sawako.
"I'm not sure he likes getting the attention when most of the girls around him are still high schoolers." Mio said, tuning her own guitar. "Maybe it his job, but he seems to enjoy hanging with us a lot."
"Well, he does like hanging around Yui-sempai a lot too, not to mention he has Patty-chan hanging around him." Azusa said. "So, he's either good with kids, or probably…"
"What is it, Azusa?" Mugi asked as the ponytailed girl simply shrugged her shoulders.
"I may be thinking too much, it's nothing, Mugi-sempai." Azusa said as she thought more about what kind of person Tony really is and what is he really after. She was worried abit that that their new English teacher may be a bad influence on her sempai, but she seems to have taken a liking to him in a way that it seemed they were more like a caring older brother and a younger sister at times, so she really didn't let it bother her much since she was getting used to his antics as well.
What she really didn't know along with the rest of the HTT club was the things Yui was told by Dante about his past and how he lost his family which Yui took in regard, she wanted to make sure her new teacher seemed happy with the friends he was with while he was staying in Japan. At least she can prove that by improving on her guitar skills, which seems to be showing.
"You know, we still haven't quite come up with what his real name is." Ritsu said as Mio looked at her friend with a curious look. "What about you, Mio?"
"The fact that he's capable of what he is only makes me doubtful that my own answers for the little name game of his." Mio said. "Though, I wouldn't mind if Yui gave us some hint of it since she said he stayed with her and Ui yesterday after he rescued her."
"Ohh, I really envy Yui for not being there to see how he fights! I'm sure Satoshi would love to meet Tony-sensei when he hears about him." Ritsu said, mentioning her younger brother. "As for the name thing, I've come up with all kinds of guesses, so I'm just going to barrage him when we meet him up during the field trip."
"Good luck on that." Mio said simply, knowing her friend's determination to constantly bug people and their new English teacher will be no different though he seems to be on friendly terms with the energetic tomboy thus far. "You really want to make some kind of profit of off Tony-sensei if you win, don't you?"
"Of course!" Ritsu replied loudly. "If he keeps helping out Sawa-chan and the club with his lessons, imagine how better our performances will be! So, why not try to win over his good side?"
"Maybe if Ritsu-senpai started bringing pizzas for him, she may actually succeed." Azusa said in a joking tone as Ritsu smacked her forehead in realizing her younger friend's comment.
"Ah! Why didn't I think up of that?" Ritsu asked with a smirk. "I'm pretty good at cooking already, so maybe I'll surprise him with a homemade pizza using one of my recipes."
"Actually, I really wasn't suggesting it, but…ahh, whatever. You already got ideas in that head of yours, don't you?" Azusa asked as Ritsu's grin turned slightly evil.
"Well, I'm hoping that we can show everyone at the field trip that we've been improving a bit thanks to Yui and Tony-sensei's efforts." Mio said. "We still got to try out some of those new songs we're working on, so why not try out a few notes before we pack up and join the others outside?"
"Okay, Mio-chan!" Yui exclaimed as the girls gathered themselves for a quick practice session with their respective musical instruments.
Soon after, it was time for the exam taking classes to go on their field trip, with Sawako and Dante as part of the supervising group of teachers. During their waiting and preparations to leave, Morrison was able arrive at the school with Patty on schedule, giving the HTT club some time to meet the middle aged gentleman and Patty, who was adorned in a fancy outfit of a white long dress and a large hat suited for her status. Even some of the Sakuragaoka girls took notice of Patty's appearance and was impressed by how well proper she looked, even Mugi-chan herself, who grew curious in wanting to know more of Patty's background.
"Ah, it's Pat-chan!" Yui exclaimed, running to meet her by holding her hands. "You'll be coming with us as well?"
"Well, someone has to keep your teacher on his best manners during this trip." Patty replied as Dante sighed.
"Yeah, yeah, I know when my charisma isn't needed the most." Dante said as he got closer to Patty to whisper to her. "Did you bring the stuff I asked for?"
"Morrison's got them in the trunk, ready and all prepped for use in case things get rough." Patty replied to him with a confident grin. "You might want to go and equip them already since we'll be on the road soon."
"Okay, kid, I'll do just that." Dante said as he looked back at his students who were watching Sawako chat it up with Morrison and getting to know him. "Okay, kids, if you give me a moment, I'm just going to put on my best going out outfit."
"Going out outfit?" Mio asked with a near red face as she watched Dante went over to the vehicle Morrison and Patty came with and took out a suitcase that held his trademark red coat and a guitar case. Dante then threw the guitar case upwards high above him to everyone's surprise as he then reached for his red coat and began to spin it around and in front of him. He then easily slid his arms through the sleeves as the coat successfully was put on, then he suddenly took out a pair of gloves which only the thumb and middle finger areas weren't covered and slipped them on after juggling them a couple times. He then reached for a pair of cowboy boots of the matching brown color and snapped them on easily all before his hand pointed upwards in time for the guitar case to fall in it as he managed to grab it and rested it on his back.
"Ohhhh!" Yui, Ritsu and any of the watching female students (and teachers) who were there in the vicinity of Dante simply started to clap briefly in awe to his act of dressing up, while Patty facepalmed throughout the whole thing while Mio nearly fainted again due to the near flawless display her English teacher put.
"Does he always do that whenever he has to put on clothes?" Azusa asked Patty as the American blond girl shook her head.
"Trust me, it's better you don't know the answer for yours and everyone else's sake." Patty replied. "It's even worse when he's back at home, at least he didn't sneeze THIS time."
"Um, what's so bad about him sneezing?" Azusa asked, fearing something really bad could happen and wants to be prepared for the worst.
"Well, one time, he told me about one of his younger days and how he did the exact same thing, but that was when his place was still pretty much a big mess just after it got trashed by some unwanted guests." Patty said as she shrugged her shoulders. "He simply sneezed a little and all of a sudden, the whole place just crashed in."
The younger, Japanese long ponytailed girl swallowed when she heard this, now she is a bit afraid to know what his lifestyle was like and shuddered as Patty noticed her reaction.
"Seems like you get the idea of what I'm talking about." Patty said. "Well, granted that he behaves himself today, I'm sure he won't try anything else crazy for the fun of it."
"Uh, yeah, I hope so too." Azusa said as she looked on at Dante as Sawako seemed to have enjoyed a bit of Dante's display just now and was giving him a brief lecture about it to keep him in check among the female students that were with them. Though she was grateful Sawako was there to do this, she also remembered that she was an old friend of Dante's, meaning if she felt like letting him have his fun the way he wanted to, she'd let him. She'd have to do her best to keep that in mind.
"Okay, if you ladies have seen enough, I suggest we don't keep the party waiting and be on our merry ways." Dante said. "I'll be going along with Morrison and Patty in their car and we'll follow you."
"Sounds like a plan then, we'll go ahead in the buses they provided for the teachers and students, so don't lose track of us." Sawako said to Dante who nodded at her.
"Gotcha." Dante said simply as he looked at Yui and her friends. "I'll be seeing you guys after we get there, so try to be on your best behavior. "
"Unn!" Yui did a peace sign and nodded while Ritsu picked Mio and held her up. "You guys be careful on the road too!"
As Yui and her classmates and teachers got into the buses, Morrison joined Dante near his car and spoke to him.
"So, Dante, you got any idea where we're heading off to with these schoolgirls?" Morrison asked as Dante sat in the passenger's seat while Patty sat in the back with a basket of refreshments and the majority of Dante's favorite foods.
"From what Sawako told me, it's kind of a very popular sweet spot for those who like to just chill out and sightsee around this time of the year in this city, it's a kind of seasonal thing they have in this country because of the cherry blossoms that bloom from time to time." Dante said. "The nationals around here call it, 'Shinjuku Gyoen', located somewhere in Shinjuku, it's suppose to be the best spot for events like that, I heard."
"Is that all? We're just going to sit under cherry blossoms for the evening?" Patty asked. "I don't see the fun in that."
"It's a whole lot more significant than that, Patty. Maybe when you're much older, you'll understand why these people enjoy such simple traditions." Dante said. "In any case, you'll see for yourself when we get there. Let's get moving, Morrison."
"Okay." Morrison switched on the ignition and waited for the buses to leave the schoolyard before following them in their own vehicle at safe speed.
About a half hour later, the groups stopped at a parking lot where they got off, the high school girls faction seemed to be in high spirits as if they were being entertained by the HTT club's brief practice sessions. As Dante along with Morrison and Patty stepped out, they were met with a beautiful and breath taking sight of a vast open park which trees were only covered in bright pink sakura blossoms that fell gracefully off of the trees and to the ground, decorating it.
"Well, this looks like my kind of place." Dante said with a grin while Patty looked at the wide open park with her mouth open in amazement.
"I'd knew you say something like that, considering how laid back you are." Sawako said as she approached him and his group. "Most people around the region come here to this spot for sightseeing and parties, it helps relax them. This will be good for the students just before the exams."
"I can use something like this for home." Dante said. "Too bad I can't grow an entire park of trees and pretty pink flowers in the city where I'm from."
"Well, this is your chance to enjoy one of this country's sweet spots for fun and relaxing, so don't hold yourself back." Sawako said as she leaned in closer to Dante. "And maybe, we can chat about old times like we used to."
"Sure, why not?" Dante asked. "I really don't have much planned to do other than show these girls a good time."
Sawako shook her head with a smile at Dante as Patty sighed while she was suddenly joined by Asuza and the HTT girls once more.
"I'm going to hang out with Asuza and the other girls, okay?" Patty said as to let Dante know beforehand. "Just don't do any funny things around Sawako-sensei and the rest of the teachers or else I will know."
"Fine by me, you have your fun, and I'll have mines, simple as that." Dante replied as he watched her run off with Yui and the others to join the other school girls.
"Well, there she goes." Morrison said, fixing his hat. "Looks like she is going to do much fine around those girls considering they're curious about their teacher."
"Let her do what she likes, she needs the attention." Dante said simply, yet knowing for a fact Patty could do well with some more friends her age and gender since most of the friends she had were the ones she made while she grew up in an orphanage years ago along with Trish, Lady, Nero and Kyrie sometime after meeting Dante and Morrison some time later. The gathering today should help fix some of that problem.
"At least now, I can have all the strawberry sundae I can stomach for today." Dante said, drawing a look from Sawako.
"I can't believe you still eat that stuff." Sawako said with a light grin. "I don't suppose you're sharing among your favorite students and teachers?"
"It never crossed my mind, but if it's with somebody like you, I got no problem with that." Dante said as he went for the refreshments Patty brought and took out a carrying cooler filled with his favorite dessert. "Now, let's go and have our little party and try to relax, shall we?"
Just some moments soon after, somewhere else in the vicinity, Vergil Sparda, dressed in his regal blue, yellow and white coat, black vest and pants and brown boots, was walking in the area, tracking his brother down by using his demonic traits. He was about to drop by at the region's school but after learning that he won't be there, he opted to travel towards Shinjuku Gyoen in the hopes that he run into Dante and inform him of what he found thus far.
"He's here alright….I can feel his presence." Vergil said to himself as while he walked on, he heard a young female voice call out to him.
"Ah! It's Vergil-san!" The young girl's voice said as the white haired male turned his glance to see Himeko Tachibana along with some of her friends accompanying her. The girls that were with Himeko couldn't stop glancing at Vergil's appearance while Himeko quickly bowed to him. "I didn't expect to see you here, do you remember me?"
"Most certainly, Himeko-san." Vergil said sternly. "As unexpected that our paths cross yet again, I'm pleased to see you're doing well and are in good company with companions."
"Looks like you're doing quite fine too, I'm not sure what brings you here, but my class is having a little get together to cool off before exams." Himeko said.
"I just happened to be in the area, after completing some meditation that is." Vergil said as he looked around at the other female students busy in their own activities while some stole glances at him. "Hmph, no matter who we really are, it seems we all require some mental relaxation at some point."
Although his tone and appearance seemed cold and emotionless, Himeko sensed some truth and honesty in his words and couldn't help but agree with him.
"Yeah, you got that right." Himeko replied. "Well, we don't want to get in the way of your private time, so we'll excuse ourselves and be on our way, Vergil-san." Himeko said bowing to Vergil kindly before starting to walk away until the older man spoke out to her.
"You're not intruding on anything, but since I'm already here, I'll need a guide to help me find someone here." Vergil said to her as he begun to ask her some questions.
Meanwhile, over at the Hokago Tea Time's section of the hanabi area, Patty was enjoying the company and listening to the stories Azusa was sharing with her colleagues and her own growing club consisting of Yui's younger sister, Ui and their friend, Jun Suzuki. Just when Patty had grown used to having other women as friends in her life to get used to such as Trish and Lady, it's a totally new and refreshing experience that she found some new normal friends in the Hokago Tea Time club, especially Azusa who seem to relate a bit to her. Just close by, Dante was seated across from them along with Sawako, sipping on some sake that Sawako slipped to share with her and her fellow teachers.
After hearing some of the HTT's club's crazy testimonies, Patty helped herself to some of the cake Mugi brought for the trip before speaking. "You guys sound like you've been through a lot, despite being band members."
"Yeah, we had our hiccups here and there, but it's nothing we can't handle." Ritsu said in a matter of fact tone. "We've pretty much gotten used to being with each other since we started this club."
"Yes, just like Ricchan says!" Yui exclaimed out mid way, all while stuffing her face with cake. "We all came a long way since then, guys. Too bad we can't stay in this school forever."
"You guys are going to graduate to university, right?" Patty asked as Mio nodded.
"Once we get past the final exams and graduate with passing grades that is." Mio said sternly. "But even then, we're planning to continue the Hokago Tea Time then. We still have to achieve our dream, you know?"
"Yeah, you told me about wanting to perform in a big concert one day, didn't you?" Patty asked. "Have you decided anything about who you're getting to support you when you get into university in regards to that?"
"Maybe we'll meet similar musicians who can help us." Mio suggested as the older HTT girls started to chat away amongst themselves as Patty noticed Asusa was looking away at them in silence.
"Hey, Azusa, what's wrong?" Patty couldn't help but notice the worried look on her new friend's face.
"Huh?" The ponytailed girl's attention was brought back to reality and she saw that Patty was calling out to her. "Oh, it's nothing, Patty. I was just thinking to myself about something, that's all."
"Hmmm…" Patty simply said as she can guess what could be getting Azusa feeling down at a time like this. Before she pressed to ask further, she saw a shadow loom over the two girls as she turned around and gasped at the person facing them. Yui noticed Himeko approaching the group with some of her friends and a tall, male stranger dressed in regal clothing and had slicked back white hair.
"Hey, Himeko-chan!" Yui waved to her friend. "Are you here to join us?"
"Well, actually, I was just passing by when I saw this man passing through, so he's keeping us company since he's says he's looking for someone here." Himeko replied, showing Yui the gentleman next to her.
"Oh, really?" Yui asked as she took a look at the man standing before them, who simply stayed quiet, but nodded to her and the other girls observing him. It was then Patty quickly noticed his appearance and his face.
"Ah!" Patty said simply as she saw her surrogate father's older twin brother, in the company of Himeko Tachibana and her friends, standing before her and the HTT group. "If it isn't uncle Vergil, I'm so glad to see you can find us here."
"How many times must I tell you not to address me like that, girl?" Vergil said, looking a bit irritated. "I still can't believe that brother of mine is capable of handling a child, much less a girl, despite his upbringing."
"At least it shows he's mature enough to do that, you can give him that much." Patty said. She may not have known Vergil much, especially after knowing he was alive for some reason after the stories Trish and Lady told her, but the young girl didn't have any disdain for the older, samurai traditional following half of the Sparda sons. He was at least more gentlemanly and refined than Dante, but was still a bit too uptight for her tastes. But she felt he'll get out of it eventually, so she'll give him time.
"Whatever. Where is Dante?" Vergil asked, getting straight to the point. Patty simply pointed across from her position towards a spot where Dante was seated from the students with Sawako and some of the older teachers spotted their new male observer. The commotion was starting to draw the attention of several other school girls who now spotted Vergil and his appearance as they were passing by.
"Who's that?" One of the girls asked. "Is he looking for one of the teachers?"
"I'm not sure, but he looks drop dead handsome like Tony-sensei." Her friend said.
"Really? Wish I can say the same if he didn't glare so much." Another girl said as Vergil sighed as he heard the girl's words. He was starting to feel uncomfortable being ogled and stared at by the schoolgirls surrounding him. Meanwhile, Dante was having his kicks while he looked on at Vergil as he decided to come forward.
"Well, look at what the cat just dragged in." Dante stood up after taking one last swig of the sake he was having with Sawako and walked towards Vergil. "At least this time, you made it to the party early."
Vergil simply looked at the group of girls by glancing at them from the side before he looked at his brother in his usual, deadpan and monotone manner.
"Dante…what sort of charade you've resorted to now?" Vergil asked simply before Dante shrugged simply at his older twin brother, much to the surprise of the girls around him.
"Wait, his name is actually Dante?" Ritsu asked suddenly, killing the tension mildly. "Ahh, why didn't I think up of that one before as well?"
"Ritsu, now is not the time to worry about that kind of thing!" Mio objected, observing the two men before her and her friends. (So, his real name is actually Dante, huh? I figured he was too casual to be named Tony…)
"Aw, come on, Vergil. We just met up again after so long, is that the first thing you ask, especially in front of all these cute girls?" Dante asked. "Then again you were never the type with formalities…"
"I've never forgotten my manners unlike a certain someone who just lazes around at home all day when he has nothing productive going on." Vergil replied coldly. "You told me were on an assignment and asked for my assistance in case the situation was going to get out of control. I had to cease my training just to have my presence here and what do I find…my foolish brother acting in his playful and immature ways with a group of teenage girls, how inept."
Yui, the remaining Hokago Tea Time members, Himeko and her friends' eyes widened when they heard the stranger they just met said 'brother'. Upon looking harder on his face and hair, they noticed he did have some resemblance to their male English teacher, but his manner of speech and personality seemed like the total opposite, like a refined gentleman with an ice cold personality.
"No way!" Ritsu exclaimed. "He couldn't be what I think he is?!"
"Oh, yes way, Ritsu. This guy here is the older twin bro I told you guys about before when we first met. He put me through quite a ringer, you know that? Getting you back the way you were before all that mess happened between us and all that." Dante said as Vergil simply brushed back his hair.
"Hmph." Vergil simply replied. "Excuse me if I haven't shown gratitude for it, Dante. Suffice to say that the path to personal redemption had been rather…challenging…for me recently."
"I've never figured you'd say that, considering your skills." Dante said as Vergil simply raised an eyebrow at his younger twin.
"It seems to me that sounded like a challenge. Perhaps YOU are the one who has gotten rusty, brother." Vergil retorted, touching his katana. "Perhaps, you would like to settle things here and now?"
"Pushy as always, aren't you?" Dante replied, reaching for his guitar case which held the Rebellion inside. "Then again, I don't mind going a few rounds for old time sake, I really hadn't any practice myself lately."
"Wait, you two just met! Why must you fight each other right away?" Azusa asked, seeing the two brothers' size up each other in front of the girls.
"Azu-nyan's right!" Yui exclaimed. "And besides, wasn't it Dante-san who said never to fight with your siblings?"
"Sorry, kids, this is something that only he and I have to settle by doing this." Dante said. "This may come as a shock to you, but around your age, we pretty much were at each other throats in some serious fights. Don't worry though, I'm sure I'm going to come out on top as always."
"No way! That is just crazy!" Mio said as Ritsu held unto her.
"Mio, I don't think they're bluffing, they both look serious about this." Ritsu said as Vergil faced the drummer.
"You don't need to worry about this man, girl. He's quite a resilient individual, I can assure you." Vergil spoke. "And unless you want to be drawn into the fight, I suggest you distance yourselves from us."
"So, it's just like that, huh, Vergil?" Dante asked simply. "You just feel like putting on a show in front of my friends?"
"Don't get me wrong, Dante. I'm not doing this out of amusement simply because you're here for a simple outing with young humans." Vergil said coldly. "I'm just testing you since we really haven't much contact with each other apart from when we departed from the other Earth during our…reunion."
"If that's the way you wanted it, then let's do this!" Dante said as he was about to reach for his trademark Rebellion broadsword from his guitar case.
"S…STOOPPP!" Yui's shout as she stepped in front of the two Sparda twins before things got more heated with her arms outstretched, much of the surprise of everyone around her, both Dante and Vergil included. "You can't do this, Tony…no, Dante-san! Even if you say that the two of you must fight, you definitely shouldn't! It's because you're brothers, siblings shouldn't be fighting, isn't that what you told me?"
Dante can tell Yui seemed upset, not by the fact he was keeping his real name a secret, but about how he told her and Ui that it's not alright for close siblings to fight each other and he was going against his own advice. Now that he has come this far in gaining her trust, he didn't want to make her upset by doing something that will hurt her feelings. He can see that she holds a great deal of care and respect for him by now.
"I may not know what happened between the two of you before, but…" Yui stopped as she looked at the twins and then at her friends before speaking. "…I can tell from how you met just now, you two made up somehow and are friends again. And…everyone else is here to have a good time with their own friends, so Dante-san, Vergil-san…could you at least hold some kind of truce and try to enjoy the company? Onegai, for me?"
"Well, so much for that, then." Dante said simply. "I guess I better behave myself for the little lady, so I suggest you do the same, Vergil."
Vergil looked at Yui and then at Dante before releasing his grip o his weapon. "Hmph, very well. And besides, because of the distraction from encountering these young women, I've lost my need to fight you for now."
"So, in other words, you just dropped in to say hello?" Dante simply asked. "You could have done it the normal way like everyone else, you know?"
"I wanted to make sure if you still were willing to respond to the likely situation, Dante. Before his demise, our father had always instructed us to be on the alert for anything in our younger days." Vergil said sternly.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Don't go bringing that up." Dante said. "Though, I'm surprised how bold you've gotten. You were seriously weren't going to pull that sword in front of these nice girls, weren't you?"
"Please, I would never draw a weapon on a defenseless woman or endanger them for selfish reasons." Vergil stated sternly, a fact that he followed the samurai code of not harming women he took quite seriously. "Though, I am amazed by this girl's bravery to interfere when she did, an admirable show of courage on her part."
"Eh?" Yui simply asked, causing her to stare at Vergil who was looking down at her. "I just don't like seeing people that know each other well fight, that's all."
"You're a strange girl, but I can see why Dante has chosen the decision to be among you." Vergil said, as he took a closer look at Yui. She seemed like an oblivious character, quite naïve actually, but he can sense she was fearless and determined in whatever she did. He envied how innocent she appeared to be and felt if things were different in the past with him and Dante, if they're lives weren't put in danger back then, they would have had a happier childhood like Yui and the girls around him.
"Very well, then, my apologies that I got things off on the wrong direction." Vergil said, bowing slightly to her. "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Vergil, and I'm this idiot's older twin brother."
"I'm Yui Hirasawa, it's nice to meet you, Vergil-san!" Yui said in her usual happy tone. "It's great that you're here to meet your brother again!"
"But, Dante-sensei…how did you know that you'd run into your brother today of all times?" Mio asked as Dante shrugged his shoulders.
"Uhhh, small world, I guess?" Dante asked simply in return.
"You told us when you introduced yourself that you two had a fallout years ago, did you sort that out while you're staying in Japan, Dante-san?" Mugi asked as Dante answered.
"Well, we're still trying to work out the kinks, but everything's cool for now." Dante said. "He's been staying in Japan for a while for some training, and when word of me coming over got to him, he secretly kept contact to trade information I needed until his training was done. He agreed to meet up with me today to wrap up some loose ends, both personal and business wise."
"That's basically what we arranged to do, after all." Vergil said. "Though, I didn't expect to have to look for you at a place and event like this with so many onlookers."
"Come on, Vergil. You came to discuss business with your brother who you haven't gotten along with for so long, among a group of young Japanese schoolgirls on a hanabi event where we can relax and chill at the same time." Dante stated. "Sure, it was at last moment's notice, it all came together nicely. What more do you want?"
"I had hoped we'd talked privately about the matter at hand, but in order to appease your need for a good time, I may have to wait until it's time to pull you away from the bash before you get too caught up in it." Vergil said as Ritsu spoke up.
"Man, no offence, Dante-san, but your brother is a real stick in the mud." Ristu said as Vergil looked at her with a quizzed look.
"What did you say, girl?" Vergil asked as Ritsu waved her arms.
"What I mean is you got to learn to read the mood, it's okay to let yourself loose for a bit." Ritsu said. "You may be the opposite of your bro, but even you must appreciate having a good time, right?"
"I won't deny that." Vergil simply replied. "Though, I should advise to you being too much lax isn't a good thing. You probably fit that description, judging by your appearance."
"W…what do you mean by that?" Ritsu said in a near embarrassed tone. "I just like being myself, that is all. But man, you read me just like Dante did when we first met, am I that too obvious?"
"Dante, your young friends are quite unusual, yet entertaining." Vergil said with a light smirk. "For humans, that is."
"See what I have to put up with when I hang out with them?" Dante asked as Ritsu and the other girls were seeing that Vergil wasn't as bad as he appeared.
"You know, you both had us scared for a moment there, we thought you guys were going to actually…" Ritsu's next words were stopped as Mio suddenly bopped her head as she didn't want to hear the rest of her incoming sentence. "Ow! What was that for, Mio-chan?"
"I wasn't going to let you say the rest of what I don't want to hear!" Mio exclaimed. "I don't want to even imagine it, so just keep them to yourself, Ritsu."
"Mouuu…after hearing about how Dante can fight, I was hoping to see how he fared up to his brother, I'm sure he's just as good too." Ritsu groaned holding her head, causing Vergil to chuckle a little at the two teenage girls and childhood friends.
"After seeing and learning of your attachment to my brother, of course you are worried about his well being." Vergil said. "Though, I can assure you of this: Dante has never lost a fight he comes across, there is no one with the kind of skills he has. Your teacher is practically unbeatable in most aspects of combat. "
"Ohh, I don't know about that, Vergil, you came pretty close back in our younger days a couple of times." Dante said, folding his arms. "I suppose one day when we're by ourselves, we test to see if you can still show me a thing or two."
"Don't forget who has been training non-stop for half a year since the aftermath of the Fortuna City events...I'm not that out of shape either." Vergil said. "However, I need to speak to you about something important…is there any place we can converse privately?"
"Come on, Vergil, business already?" Dante asked, patting Yui and Azusa on their shoulders and drawing closer to his sides. "Don't be such a grouch, I'm sure you can use a load off, how about you come and hang with the rest of the class until it's time to talk?"
"Are you certain that's alright with them?" Vergil asked, still not feeling comfortable with keeping company with humans, though he's beginning to feel differently when he encountered Yui and the Hokago Tea Time.
"Well, we thought you were a scary person at first, but we know now you're not a bad person, Vergil-san." Yui said. "So, I guess that's okay, especially if it's Dante-san inviting you."
"Yeah, you'd be much cooler if you stop being so uptight and just relax a bit. And smiling and having fun once in a while doesn't hurt either." Ritsu said, grinning at Vergil who seemed to be contemplating for a few moments before he nodded.
"Very well, I shall join your little bash." Vergil said. "However, do take note that I am a very hard individual to please when it comes to enjoying themselves, you'll find me to be a…"
"Ah, moouu, don't be like that." Ritsu said, taking Vergil by the arm and shaking it. "I'm sure after a little while with us, you'll get used to it."
"Besides, we're curious on your relationship with Dante-sensei, even though you and he had bad blood before." Mugi said as Vergil sighed as he looked at Dante. She seemed particularly interested in his traditional mannerisms and speech which goes along with his fighting style.
"That's just how they are, Vergil, you just got to accept that." Dante said as Vergil spoke.
"Fine, you'll get no argument from me, young ones." Vergil said as Yui then stepped in front to take Dante and Vergil by the hands and pulled them.
"Hey, guys, maybe we should play a song for them to celebrate their reunion!" Yui exclaimed. "How about it, everyone?"
"Well, we have to practice anyway for the mini concert, but we can get to work for the time being." Mio said. "Um, I'm not sure what kind of tastes Vergil-san is into, though…"
"You need not to worry yourself about my preferences, young one. I can pretty much suit to your style of playing if it needs to." Vergil said as to the HTT's club surprise, he gracefully took Elizabeth from Mio's hands and put on the strap around his neck before starting to strum on the guitar with his quick fingers. Mio and the girls watching him stood aghast as they saw the cold hearted Vergil started to play a mean piece of classic rock from Mio's guitar his version of Taste the Blood.
"Sugoi! He can play too just like Dante-san!" Yui exclaimed as the audience around them grew watching Vergil.
"Well, they are twins after all." Ritsu said with a grin. She admitted that Vergll was pretty amazing too.
Then the unexpected happen, Dante then took out his Nevan to started play alongside his brother. When Vergil took notice, he simply grinned as the two of them started to duel it out using their guitars and causing a bit of a stir with their loud, yet unflawed guitar playing. Instead of the HTT club giving the Sparda twins a concert, it was the brothers who were providing the girls and teachers around them a small listening service they would never forget.
Just after the two brothers finished with their synced playing, the student body watching them along with the HTT girls started to clap and cheer for them wildly. Vergil then kindly returned Elizabeth to Mio before giving her a piece of advice.
"You've been taking good care of that instrument, though the flaw in your playing ability lies with your bravery. You need to strengthen your resolves, girl." Vergil said sternly to her.
"My resolves?" Mio asked as Vergil said as he turned his back towards her.
"Like a sword, you need to sharpen your senses and have your mind and body ready for the challenges you face." Vergil said. "Your outer shell may be strong as a sheath, but it's holding a weakened blade, your spirit. Unless you can strengthen it by becoming more headstrong, you'll never improve your confidence. The same goes out to the rest of you."
"Um, thanks, Vergil-san, I'll be sure to remember what you said to me." Mio said, bowing to him briefly.
"Well, this is rare. Normally, you'd keep all the advice and juicy bits to yourself, Vergil." Dante said, putting back Nevan.
"Shut up." Vergil said simply, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I just felt like offering a piece of advice for her, that's all. She looked like she could use some."
"Is that what the Japanese here call being a tsundere, Vergil?" Dante asked jokingly. "Never thought you had it in you."
"Hmph...baka." Vergil scoffed as Mio giggled at the slight change of his personality. "Come on, Dante, we have to discuss urgent matters somewhere else, I don't like all this attention."
"Well, as much as I like to soak in the glory of all these cute schoolgirls some more, you're right." Dante said. "Listen up, girls, my brother and I have some catching up to do, but we won't be long. You'll be alright?"
"Me and Patty will keep an eye on things here, so go on and do your thing." Morrison spoke. "Oh, and you might need this."
Dante took the suitcase and the guitar case from Morrison and joined up with his brother away from the groups of schoolgirls as Yui ran out to meet him.
"You'll be back soon, right…Dante-san?" Yui asked as Dante waved at her with his back turned.
"Yeah, we'll be back, just going somewhere to talk about old times." Dante said. "And tell Sawako thanks for the sake for me."
Yui nodded as she watched the two brothers walked off to another part of the sakura blossom park before turning back to meet Patty and her friends who were still talking about Dante and Vergil's performances.
Sometime later, during their walk in the large park, the Sparda twins began to converse about what had transpired.
"Those musician girls…they are quite special in their own ways." Vergil said, looking at the tranquil falling sakura. "I can see why would they be targeted by anyone, human or not."
"Yeah, they're quite the handful, but they make the time here interesting." Dante said as he stood at his brother's side.
"I noticed that Yui Hirasawa has taken quite a liking to you especially." Vergil said simply. "You've noticed this as well, haven't you?"
"Well, I'll admit I've always wanted a little sister back when we were kids." Dante said in a joking tone as Vergil looked at him with a puzzled look.
"You never told me that before." Vergil simply replied with a light grin before turning serious once more. "For a human, her learning ability is remarkable. But her naivety…"
"I know, adorable, isn't it?" Dante said as Vergil shook his head.
"That's not what I mean, she doesn't know how dire things will be happening soon unless we act. It won't be this quiet any longer soon." Vergil said in a serious tone now.
"I take it this is the part where we talk business." Dante said as he faced Vergil. "Let's hear what you got so far."
"During my stay here, I've recently learnt that there are a few Hellgates located in this district of Japan. And to top it off, a few of them had been broken, causing some of the demon hordes to escape, those including our elusive targets." Vergil explained. "It seems that part of their intentions include freeing the trapped demons that are sealed off in this country to run amok in order to cause disorder as a means of distraction."
"Are you referring to the genma type demons that reside here?" Dante asked as Vergil spoke on.
"Indeed. Compared to the ones encountered at Temen-ni-gru, these actually possess strength and intelligence, but to a certain extent." Vergil said. "I take it you've encountered them before?"
"Yeah, the first night I got here I ran into one of them, seemed like one of the demon and hybrid types." Dante recalled. "Another one of them is a fat, smelly slob who just happens to the school's janitor in disguise."
"I wouldn't misjudge someone like that just by appearance so easily, Dante." Vergil spoke. "Even with the current information on what we know of the enemy, we still have to encounter their true power and objectives, so don't be lax about the matter."
"I get ya, bro." Dante said simply. "What else have you got on our guy?"
"As far as I know, this Master apparently was a low class monster several hundred years ago in the feudal era, but apparently it grew due to the sacrifices it was given by its devout human followers and it grew in power over time." Vergil spoke. "Once it was intelligent and powerful enough, it slew the all of the male occupants of the village, took their women and made them into his slaves."
"Well, that sucks." Dante said simply. "So, who had the honors of putting that thing down?"
"Apparently, several experienced shrine-keepers experienced in the arts of sealing demons such as those. When they managed to eventually seal away the monster and its minions, several Hellgates were constructed to keep the seal in place, but the overabundance of the demons from ages past started to overrun and the Hellgates started to lose their effectiveness slowly." Vergil said. "It was a matter of time until this fiend can retrieve its full power."
"Which is why we should act now while it's still dormant, right?" Dante asked as Vergil nodded.
"That is the plan. Compared to Fortuna, this city is open for demon attacks, we need to find those Hellgates and take care of them." Vergil said. "And as chance would have it, I managed to locate one not too far from here."
"Is it teeming with demons?" Dante asked. "I won't be able to have my fun if we don't get any form of resistance from the enemy, now won't I?"
"I guess you're right." Vergil replied simply, before he offered an open hand. "But first, you have something that rightfully belongs to me."
"Heh, can't let it go, huh, bro?" Dante said as he offered his older twin the Beowulf gauntlets and greaves that he was carrying along with him in the Pandora suitcase "It's a good thing too, I knew you'd be asking for these."
"To begin with, I found them first, so of course it belongs to its rightful owner." Vergil stated. "It's rather boring when I'm limited to my sword and magic for combat, as these have proven useful to me in the past and in the alternate Earth."
"I hear ya, you're pretty beast in those things. They suit you more than I do, especially since I already got Gilgamesh." Dante said as he watched Vergil adorn the black gauntlets infused with light energy. "So, now that you got your little toys back, shall we go do some Hellgate hunting?"
"Indeed, and we must do so since your companions are awaiting our return." Vergil said. "I'll lead the way to the destination."
Dante nodded and followed his brother to further down the path where they cut into a secluded path leading into a forest from the park. After trekking for a bit, they entered a cavern large enough that the walls appeared to be some sort of ancient Japanese temple.
"Interesting, so this is where they held their rituals." Vergil indicated as he looked at the skeletal remains littered on the cavern alters. "Hmm….some of these sacrifices are over a hundred years old, while others...are also recent ones as well. They are still fresh blood marks in here, apparently from the unfortunate victims."
"So, what?" Dante asked suddenly. "These guys may have been sacrificing their victims for their cause or somewhat?"
"Most likely." Vergil replied. "Apparently, we're dealing with some savage demons with no concern for human life."
"I reckon those victims were probably the missing people I've heard about before coming here." Dante said with his arms folded.
"All the more reason why we should dispense of them as soon as possible before…" Vergil spoke before he reached for his katana's hilt and tilting his head. "It seems we have an uninvited guest."
"Who dares enter our sacred grounds other than our kind?!" A coarse voice rang through the open hallway, as Dante recognized the tone. The figure stepped in and Dante was right in thinking it was Urobuchi who entered. "You! The Son of Sparda himself!"
"Well, well, looks like I don't have to go far in dealing with you before you start to cause problems for the school." Dante said as Vergil looked at his brother.
"You know who that is?" Vergil asked seriously as Dante answered.
"Yeah, THAT thing works at the girl's school as the janitor but in actuality is the target's messenger." Dante said. "Vergil, meet the demon hybrid, Urobuchi."
"Vergil Sparda?!" Urobuchi asked surprised. "So the rumors of you living are true. Well, no matter. Both of the traitor's sons are here, this is a grand opportunity to waste them in service of our great master!"
"There you go again about your master." Dante scoffed. "Listen up pal, why don't you do us a favor and give it up, we pretty much guessed by now what you and your buddies are up to. We're going to stop your crazy plans anyways, we might as well do it early and save the headache."
"Hah-ha-hah-ha-ha!" Urobuchi laughed out loud. "You think you know what my Master is planning and think you can stop it? Oh, you are so far from the truth, Son of Sparda."
"So, there's a lot more involved in this little game, isn't there?" Dante asked simply as Vergil looked on before he spoke.
"You'd do well to tell us what you have in store for the inhabitants of this city before we cut you and your kind down without mercy." Vergil said.
"Of course, we'd still kick your ass regardless if you tell us or not." Dante finished.
"My kind won't yield so easily to your threats, you Sparda whelps." Urobuchi said. "We'll defend our master with our very lives and the power he's given us! Minions, attack them!"
A horde of Urobuchi 's hybrid demons rushed in from the shadows of the cavern, already surrounding the Sparda twins. Some of them were carrying weapons of long ranged swords and maces while others appeared to be bare handed fighters in large sizes. Dante licked his lips with his twin pistols out while Vergil stood with his back next to his brothers, analyzing his new enemies.
"Well, bro, ready to start the party crashing on these fools?" Dante asked, taking out his twin pistols while Vergil glanced at his brother.
"Of course, they must be taught the hard way of what happen to those who challenge the sons of Sparda." Vergil said.
Without warning one of the demons rushed towards Dante and Vergil, but in an instant, the two figures disappeared using their Trick Up techniques. Dante reappeared behind his attacker, and above his head while Vergil was airborne, already summoning his Spiral Swords to surround him.
"I'm right here." Dante said, as he already equipped the Devil Arm, Lucifer and performed Splash, sending out a wave of red, exploding blades as he spun his body sending them outwards his targets. After summoning a number of blades by the time he landed, he then started to execute the Lucifer Combo D, as Dante began to spin his body gracefully with timed summons of the Lucifer blades surrounding him and some at his target, which was being pierced by them. Switching to Rebellion, he slashed at the demon with a simple two hit horizontal slash, before pulling back his body and switching back to Lucifer to perform Ecstasy, whence he pulls out a single rose and threw it at the stunned demon. The effect lifted the demon above the ground as Dante switched to Trickster and with the Pandora equipped, used the PF262: Jealousy gatling gun aerial attack, Dante then began to riddle the demon with bullets to close the distance. He then switched to Trickster to Air Dash towards the demon's side before he fell to the ground, and used Ecstasy again to lift the demon up once more, then jumped upwards to keep the demon higher above ground.
Using Trickster's Trick Up to close in on the beaten demon, he then used a combination of well timed Enemy Steps and Splash to imbue more blades on the demon's body, repeating the process as Dante was literally spinning his body on the demon as the exploding blades were pinning it. Then Dante finished off the assault by switching to Gunslinger style and his twin pistols as he began to use his trademark Rain Storm to shoot multiple shots in a descending hail of bullets on the way down from the high air, into the unfortunate demon, who was being destroyed before he knew what hit him. The to finish it off, Dante used Enemy Step once more and switched to his Gilgamesh Swordmaster attack, Shock! to land his downward slamming punch unto the demon's corpse's before it hit the ground and detonated into blood and exploding body parts.
"Hmph, showy as usual. But at least it got the job done." Vergil noted his brother's display of skills in exterminating demons.
"Okay, let's see if you can do any better then." Dante said as he went back to clean up the remaining demons who were stopped by Lucifer before by executing Discipline, which reposition the blades surrounding Dante, then damaging with Climax, making them detonate by clapping his hands together.
"Very well, then. Observe." Vergil spoke, keeping his Spiral Swords around him, his magical blades hitting the demons surrounding him and Dante, before executing Trick Down, putting himself in position in front of a defenseless demon on front of him. While he was stunning the demon with the Spiral Swords, he executed Rapid Slash to capture the demon in his attack, the shockwaves of the sheathe katana attack with the Spiral Swords combination are keeping it airborne until it was over Vergil's head and it met a wall. Vergil then executed another Rapid Slash to keep it airborne longer until the Swords spell ran out. Then, with Beowulf equipped, he performed Lunar Phase, a full spinning 360 degrees kick that lunges his body, repeatedly hitting the demon from a rising arc. While the demon was getting attacked by the kick, Vergil cancelled the move and started his Aerial Rave with another set of Spiral Swords activated on the trapped demon and started to Jump Cancel his attack until the demon was destroyed by his attack.
Dante let out a long whistle as he saw his brother stylishly took care of his own side of the demons attacking him.
"You still have the moves, I see." Dante said as Vergil shook off the blood from his katana, which appeared to be different in appearance. Dante had an idea what Vergil had in his possession since he already gave Yamato to Nero awhile back. "That new katana of yours really is something."
"It has its uses." Vergil simply replied, sheathing it back. "While it's not as powerful as Yamato, it still draws enough strength from its source to vanquish the enemy well enough."
"Just don't go power tripping like you did the first time you got it, you'll get to really test it with all these chumps around us." Dante said, placing the Rebellion across his shoulders.
Urobuchi was growing angrier that the Sparda twins were underestimating him and shouted at his minions. "Grrrr! Don't let up! Take them out!"
"Che, these guys never learn, don't they?" Dante asked in a near bored tone. "Come on, Vergil. We don't want to keep dragging the party, do we?"
"Going all out already, Dante?" Vergil asked. "How about we deal the killing blows we learned from the alternate Earth?"
"Now you're talking!" Dante replied, as he switched to his powerful demon form in dark red and black demon armor covering the entirety of his body with red energy seeping from his body. His appearance and shape turned drastically, as Dante activated his Demon trigger.
"Now, I'm motivated." Vergil said, as he followed suit and activated his Demon Trigger as well, his form of a blue and white demon donning head armor and wings, blue energy emitting from his body. The two Sparda twins were now in their ultimate Devil forms and were ready and primed to finish off the remainder of the demons. Urobuchi swallowed hard in fear as he can feel the power surging from the twins.
Dante used Nevan's Jam Session to send a shockwave of bats and lightning at the wave of demons in front of him, while Vergil assisted with a Rapid Slash level 3 to juggle the demons before Dante used Air Raid, lifting his body and executing Helm Breaker before executing Vortex downwards unto the fallen demons. Dante then used Cold Shower to fire at the fallen demons and then used Prop Shredder to launch them. Pulling out Artemis during fray, Dante used Acid Rain to send homing lasers from the gun to hit the falling demons before they landed as he took out his Rebellion to execute his Devil Must Die attack, which consisted of him performing several Stingers back and forth through the target, before finishing them off with a final Stinger that slammed them into a magical platform. As Dante finished his attack, he reverted back to his human appearance putting back his Rebellion on his back.
"And that's…how you do it." Dante said as he enjoyed putting the demons down like this, he finally got to cut loose after some quiet with the Hokago Tea Time girls and their schoolmates.
However, that wasn't the end of their assault, as Vergil, still in his Devil Trigger form, was set up for his attack to make sure these demons were eliminated. He set up his katana pose for his Dark Angel attack, which consisted of him repeatedly slashing away at his enemies while forming a set of Summon Swords above the targets. As he was finished slashing the enemy, he then swiped his sword to clean off any blood, and reverted back to his human appearance, before turned his back, sheathing his sword and saying, "Rest in Peace". The numerous Summon Swords began to attack and pin the demons, killing them on the spot.
"You…you two…." Urobuchi muttered as he started to pull back away from the room as he was the only remaining demon standing in the room with Dante and Vergil. He mustn't allow himself to be defeated by the Sparda twins now, he had to abandon this place. "You may have gotten your way today, but the next time we'll meet, I'll assure you'll regret going against me and my master!"
Urobuchi then turned his body as he bailed out while Vergil reached for his katana before Dante called out to him.
"Forget it, Vergil, he's just going to do what he does best, report to his boss and go into hiding." Dante said coolly. "At least I won't have to worry about him coming to bother the girls at school anymore, he pretty much exposed who he really is."
"Are you fine with this?" Vergil asked, wiping his hair back. "Now that he knows we're both are here to foil his plans, he's going to be even more determined to come after those involved. I don't have to tell you anymore about this since you have an idea who we're dealing with."
"Look, if these guys are anything what Frank informed me about, they shouldn't be much of a problem. We dealt with these guys before they put up a fight, we can wipe the floor with them again." Dante said.
"I hope for your sake, that you're right." Vergil said as he turned around. "Now, we have to pick up where we left off and take care of the Hellgate here and search for possible survivors…"
"You mean this thing here?" Dante pointed to an ancient Japanese shrine door that had several seals placed on it. Vergil examined the door and nodded.
"It appears that they were indeed guarding this, these seals were made from our just defeated demon attackers." He said seriously. "This Hellgate must be dealt with at once before they return to unseal it."
"Too bad we don't have Yamato with us…should we call the kid over to give us a hand?" Dante said as Vergil put out his arm.
"There's no need, I've learnt a thing or two about Hellgates while I was training and how to deal with them while I was under Mundus's control." A white glyph appeared from his palm as it grew in shape and size and started to surround the Hellgate as it encircled around the seals decorated on it. Vergil then raised his arm and opened his palm for the glyph to cover the entirety of the Hellgate and started to encase it into the wall, turning it into stone. The Hellgate was now engraved into the wall before it started to crumble apart and the seals were rendered useless.
"Well, you made that look simple." Dante simply said as Vergil scoffed.
"That's because this was one of the weaker Hellgates, I didn't expect it to react to my spell the way it did." Vergil said. "I may need the Yamato back in the future for the remaining ones before it's too late."
"Okay, I'll give the kid a heads up and let him know we need his presence in Japan soon." Dante said. "Still, I can't help but think that these demons are up to something we don't know…"
"Hence, we may need more information. I do not want to be wasting my valuable power on a cause we're just toying with and that will endanger the humans here if it backfires." Vergil said. "I'll recon for intel we'll need while you continue looking over those girls."
"Aw, here I thought you were going to stay for the party." Dante said. "Those girls are going to miss you already."
"I won't be gone long, I have to visit an old friend anyway." Vergil said as he turned to Dante with a serious look. "Watch your back, Dante, Urobuchi seems more sly than he appears. You'll have no reason to hold back the next time you run into him."
"I know, I got a couple of things I'd like to personally say to him before I start mauling his mug." Dante said. "So, this is where we part ways."
"As much as I liked to have joined your party, Dante, you're more suited for those things than I am. I have still yet to earn the trust of humans after all I've done and the least I can do is keep a distance from those students you are with." Vergil said. "Please give them, including Himeko-san, my regards."
"Sure do, bro. I'll let them know how much you'll miss them." Dante said as Vergil scoffed as he started to walk away to the cave's entrance as Dante cracked his knuckles to clean up around the cavern. "Now then, let's look around for some clues and anything of relevance to the case, shall we?"
Dante lit one of the torches and started to walk into one of the lower passages, where he began to sense some human presence there. Soon after, he saw some prison cells with several people inside, still alive.
"Looks like I hit the jackpot." Dante said as he gripped on the cell cage with one of the Gilgamesh greaves on and ripped it open. "Hey, is everyone in here alright?"
"Who….who are you?" One of the women, whose clothes were dirty and torn, spoke in fear as Dante put up his arms.
"It's okay, sweetheart, I'm one of the good guys. None of those things are here anymore." Dante said as he removed the chains holding them.
"We thought we never were getting rescued! Arigatou!" Her friend said as the captured prisoners started to run outside when one of them bowed before Dante.
"How long were you guys here?" Dante asked.
"About several days the most, I'm not sure since we were holed up here." She told him. "There were more of us…but…those monsters…we actually heard screaming when they carried them off…"
"I guess those things were choosing who they wanted for their little rituals." Dante said seriously. "Did they say anything as to why?"
"I'm not sure….the ones who were….they knew how to sing and perform in music well, but they were just small time performers." The woman told him. "Actually, all of us were in the same club performing a small concert and when we were leaving, we were brought here by the entourage."
"Entourage?" Dante asked simply. "Somebody arranged for you guys to be at this concert? You have any idea who was in charge?"
"I can give you the location where the concert was, maybe you can find out whose the bastard in charge, the responsible for putting us through this mess!" The woman cried as Dante patted her.
"Here, here, it's okay, babe. I'm going to pay those guys a nice little visit soon." Dante lightly embraced the crying woman. He will have to arrange a little surprise for this new development to his mission as he soothed the woman's grief before he gained the information he needed from her.
Some time afterwards, Dante had managed to return to the hanabi party in time to rejoin his female classmates and their friends. Yui, with her Gitah strapped on, rushed over to him once she saw him in full view.
"Ah, Dante-sensei! You're back!" Yui said as Dante waved to her and her friends, who seem to be getting their mini concert ready. Yui looked around for Vergil when she didn't see him. "Ehhh, where's Vergil-san?"
"He had some urgent business to take care of on his end, but he says he'll be back soon, though unfortunately, he won't be joining us in time for the concert ." Dante said as Ritsu groaned.
"Aw, man, I was kinda hoping he'd be around to have some fun with us." Ritsu said. Mugi looked a bit disappointed as well since she was curious about him and wanted to know more of his culture.
"Hey, he said he'd be back and he'll hold his word." Dante said. "Are you that sad that you won't get to see him around often?"
"Not really, you just seemed happier when he's around. You looked like you had some fun while your were with him awhile ago." Ritsu said as Dante shrugged his shoulders.
"Well, I won't deny that." Dante replied. "He and I did just threw down awhile ago and man, and that felt damn good."
"Ahhh! So you two did fight!" Ritsu exclaimed. "How can you leave us out of the fun?"
"You really want to see me fight that bad?" Dante asked, causing Ritsu to nod at him furiously. "I told you before, I'm not sure your teenage hormones will be able to contain themselves if you see me fight, but I'll leave it up to chance the next time he's around so we can do a demonstration for you guys."
"Dante-san!" Mio said, feeling a bit embarrassed by what he said. "Mouuu…I can't believe someone like you is our advisor alongside Sawa-sensei!"
"It's just something you have to get used to, dear. But I'm starting to think you're enjoying this too." Dante said as Mio flustered.
"I am not!" Mio said, turning her head. "Baka!"
Dante laughed out loud at Mio's reaction as Azusa asked him now. "Dante-sensei, how come you never told us of your real name before? Were you testing us?"
"Something like that." Dante said in a bit of a serious tone. "I never wanted to use Tony Redgrave again because it only brought back some bad memories of me growing up. But I had to for the sake of fitting in the crowd with you guys, since my real name precedes my reputation. In the end, I ended up telling Yui since she was especially curious about my family and this pendant I proudly wear and I wanted to be honest to her after all that I'm doing for her and you guys."
"You must be a real badass or some sort if you had to use a different name just to join our school as a teacher." Ritsu said. "Not to mention, having a bro like Vergil-san to compliment what you are."
"Kid, you know nothing about it." Dante said. "But enough about me and my bro, how's the preparations coming along?"
"We're just about almost done, Dante-sensei." Mugi said, her fingers on her keyboard. "How about we sing the new piece we were practicing?"
"Sounds good, you girls can try it for the opening." Dante said as he looked on at Yui. "Hey, kid. I just wanted to say, that was pretty gutsy of you what you did before. The only way my brother ever stopped from fighting is if anything got in the way of his code of honor. Of course, I'm to blame too for almost causing a fight you didn't want to see. Sorry for getting you upset on a day like this."
"It's okay, Dante-sensei. I'm not upset at what you and your brother almost did, you are adults after all." Yui said. "Just don't do anything that scary again, I was worried about you."
"Well, being an old guy is a bit of a letdown compared to my younger days when I can do pretty much what I want and I had more freedom." Dante said, causing Yui to giggle.
"Heh, you called yourself an old man." Yui smiled as Dante smirked.
"So, does this mean we're cool?" Dante asked as he put out a gloved, clenched fist towards Yui. The young guitarist noticed the signal and smiled back, clenching her smaller white fist before touching his knuckles with hers in a gentle, yet sincere and friendly brofist.
"Of course, Dante-sensei!" Yui smiled as the other girls looked on at their new club advisor and their lead guitarist's display another cute act of their friendship which made them smile at their gesture.
"Okay, you two, we need to get the concert going. We need to assume positions." Azusa said as Dante sighed.
"She's right, you better go and give them hell, kid. I'll be watching." Dante said. "I'm going to hang with Sawa-chan once more for the duration of the concert. She probably left some of that sake for me…"
"We'll look out for you and play the best we can, Dante-sensei!" Yui said in her cheerful tone. "Okay, it's just like he said, everyone. Let's rock on!"
Dante stepped back from the singing group to join the other students and teachers as he begun to think to himself.
(Man, it's just like Vergil said, this peace won't last forever. The sooner I find the demon's main homestay and take care of their leader, the more these girls are safe.) Dante thought. (Hmmm…that address that girl I rescued seemed like a legit place where demons would hang out. I'd better pay them a visit after this little party…not to mention, find out what Trish and that kid are up to and see if things are okay on their end.)
But before business, Dante will have to sit back and listen to the HTT's performance and judge if they've improved their skills since he became their advisor. Yui's in particular, he felt he was able to draw more trust from her even after Vergil showed up. He was truly seeing Yui and her HTT friends as a group of younger sisters to mess around with for his amusement and teach them the ways of music and the world, but he also had a great caring respect for them by now. He is not going to allow evil to ruin their normal and aspiring lives and he will see to it he'll pull all the stops to make it happen.
Shardclaw: And there you have it, things are beginning to stir now in the story. I'm hoping I did a good job portraying Vergil in his redeemed form of sorts so far, one of the things I wanted to see Capcom make happen is a stand alone DMC game starring just him in all his glory, being going either a good or bad path, I'd buy it anyway. I mean, yeah we got DMC 3 Special Edition, and the recent DmC DLC, Vergil's Downfall, that enables you to control him, but I'd prefer to have a really decent story to explain how exactly his time becoming Nelo Angelo and being that character until his DMC 1 encounter with Dante. Well, looks like I got to keep on dreaming about this considering how Capcom is these days…
Speaking of Vergil's Downfall, I must say it was a pretty decent side dish to the main game. Surprisingly enough, NT's version of Vergil played A LOT like his DMC 3 counterpart in terms of gameplay, especially for the veterans of the series like myself. Combine that knowledge with the game's speed and it's combat engine's forgiving window for Jump Cancelling and you can make some pretty epic air combos and made it more fun to exploit. My only complaint for it was it would have been better if it was just a bit little longer with more things to kill, the lack of him not being in Bloody Palace for DmC really disappointed me until they got the patch for it. And I love killing things with Vergil A LOT, in all of his iterations from DMC 3:SE/UMVC3 and DmC. Oh, and he didn't had to be quite the douche to his mother near the end of the DLC, but I guess this was NT's way of showing how he will become a demon Lord as opposed to him being a servant of one from the original DMC series. In any case, I managed to get the DmC platinum and all trophies for the DLC quite some time back, thus adding it to my DMC trophy collection and I'm taking a break from the series until a next one or at least a trophy patch for DMC 4 comes out so I can really complete the saga trophy wise. But other than that, I got a backlog of trophies to hunt, new and old anime to watch and trophies and it was high time to move on from the series.
In any case, I still have lots of ideas for Vergil in this story, aside from him warming up a bit to the K-ON! environment while maintaining his badassness, you'll be seeing more fight scenes with many variations of his and Dante's attacks as well some history to before the story with some cameos thrown in.
I also noticed a number of readers wondering if this story is going to have any pairings, more specifically a possible Dante x Sawako one. Considering the two actually do have a lot in common and would get along, it's not really surprising that this could be a possibility. I can't promise anything concrete, but I may throw in a subtle hint or two in the flashback chapter I'm planning later to properly fully explain how the two met before I can make a decision. I hope you stay tuned for the next upcoming chapter because things get even more drastic from as Trish and Nero finally makes their appearances as well, the girls begin to learn the truth about the existence of demons and about Dante and Vergil and a surprise visit from a longtime, iconic Marvel villain from the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
