White blinding light accompanied by the feeling of a gentle, warm embrace enveloped the three only for a minute. When their sight was restored they found the world expanding out before them, lush green grass sprinkled with star-shaped flowers in so many colors it seemed to put any rainbow to shame. The awe of this held them for many reason, the main being that the field was brightly lit. As their eyes trailed up they spotted the twin suns in the sky. Looking back to the field they found their voices again. "It's beautiful." Demyx breathed pulling himself close to the red head unintentionally pressing his cheek to the others

Unfortunately the beauty of the field before them wasn't the thing that mystified Axel. It was the twin suns and the light warming him and the day-time field. "It's Day..." He added still not having noticed the warm cheek-to-cheek contact.

A High-pitched shriek tore them from the trance they had only then found themselves in. "It's Gone?!" Roxas had called, turning back to look for the door only to be met with a wall of dirt and rock. "Guys! The door! It's gone!" he continued on.

"But it was just there! A door can't just disappear!" Demyx shrieked back, reaching out to touch the wall.

"Well it just did." Axel snarled backing away so Demyx wouldn't touch the wall. "Great. Now we're lost and probably in heaven because we fucking died."

Roxas swung around, a punch aimed at Axel's chest. When the strike landed Axel let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding as well as a yelp. "Did it hurt?" The small blond's voice came out more malicious then intended, and only noticed when he saw the tall red head's face contort in response.

If it hadn't been for Demyx's gentle reminder that he was still being carried, by way of a gentle tap to Axel's cheek, he surly would have been dropped. "Yes it fucking hurt." Axel snarled again inching away.

Roxas crossed his arms with a smirk. "Well then I guess we're not dead, now are we?" He flinched preparing to run when he noticed Axel setting Demyx down on the ground. "Axel. I was just trying to help! Shit are we really doing this right now?"

Axel turned giving Roxas a curious look as if wondering what the little blonde was sputtering. "Calm down, Jesus." He moved towards the rock wall brushing his hands over the rock and digging at the dirt. Roxas breathed a sigh of relief helping look through to find any traces of the mirage door.

It was an hour before Demyx called out from his seated place. "It doesn't look like it's there at all. Maybe we should find another way back." Axel sighed dropping one hand to his side and using the other to run his fingers through his hair, a show of his stress. "Don't worry Axel if we found our way here I'm sure we can find our way back." Demyx offered a small hopeful smile to the red head as he walked over to help him again onto his back.

"Every in has an out after all, right?" Axel replied, shifting so that Demyx was comfortable on his back. He looked back to Roxas who was still giving a side ways glance to the cliff wall as if hoping by some miracle it would re-appear, or there would be some glint showing that it was still there, just buried further yet. He was given no hope and the small blond trudged to Axel's side. "Roxas, no matter what it takes I'll get us home. I'm too stubborn to let us die someplace like this, no matter how beautiful it is." He offered a reassuring smile.

Axel was a lot calmer after digging pointlessly for such a long time. "Maybe I just needed something to get the adrenalin out of my system." He thought to himself as he began walking towards a wall of trees that stretched out in front of them like a wall, much like the cliff they had "exited". He stopped as he was about to cross the line between the field and the woods when he felt something holding him back. He turned to see Roxas looking worried, the cloth from Axel's shirt tangled in his fingers.

Axel stepped back towards Roxas as the blond spoke. "Axel, I don't have a good feeling about this place." The red head scoffed about to retort when Roxas spoke again. "Not just about the field, the woods too. Axel, it feels like something really bad is going to happen if we go in." Roxas' blue eyes were brimming with worry and it caused a sigh to tare out of Axel's throat.

"It's better to hide in the woods then to be able to be spotted from miles around." The red head shifted Demyx who held tighter as Axel reached out and placed a hand in the honey colored hair, ruffling it and smiling gently. The action wasn't unlike a father comforting his frightened child before a roller coaster. "Relax, didn't I say a little bit ago that I would protect us? I'm not all show and no action. Have a little faith." Roxas released Axel with a hesitant hand and nodded. He didn't like the twisting feeling in his gut, or the non-existent cold hands trailing their fingers and raking their nails down his back. None the less he followed Axel into the cool darkness of the woods. He knew Axel was fully capable of protecting them both from thugs. As short as his temper was, he would protect them both from whatever came at them.

A cold wind scratched at all of their cheeks as the three males huddled together around a newly lit and barely alive fire. With the two suns setting three dim glowing orbs took their places on the opposite horizon and began climbing the sky. Axel tossed some more sticks and dried leaves to feed the fire and make it roar higher. "Who knew it would get so cold. Fuck it was so warm during the day too!" Demyx stuttered, curling himself tighter around his brother and pushing further into Axel's chest.

The red head felt slightly embarrassed by the two blonds shivering and squirming across his lap. As much as a bad time as it was to be having these thoughts, he had nothing else to keep him warm as he sat blocking the harsh cold wind for the other two. The fire wasn't much help at them moment as he tried to get it to grow in height and intensity with little luck so Axel found himself just having to put up with the two. "Generally when a planet has two suns and is as green as it is without a desert it usually means that it's going to get fucking cold at night." He shifted himself trying to think about the science fiction movies he had watched that had multiple moons and suns. "At least now you can't make fun of me for going to comic-book conventions and being a Geek." Axel laughed trying not to think of the cold that bit at his back.

Demyx stuck his tongue out at Axel. "Just because you learned something that turned out to be true, doesn't make you any less of a geek." He retorted, thankful for the distraction Axel provided. Demyx stared up at Axel who was now lost in his own mind, just gazing off into the fire at nothing. Demyx knew that Axel did this often when fire was close. He was hypnotized by the light it created and how gentle it looked when contained, similarly to a drugged up leopard. As the light played across his face something in Demyx's chest tightened into a knot and squeezed at him tightly. He pulled his eyes away and buried his face into Roxa's hair, nuzzling it and causing Roxas to grumble and fidget, complaining about Demyx's cold nose.

The popping sound of burning wood was interrupted by a loud snapping sound followed by crashing. Roxas yelped at the sudden noise, rousing his mind from it's lulling state to a more awake one. "Hello insomnia, my oldest friend." He grumbled bitterly staring out into the darkness. He shuddered when he noticed something shift and pushed himself closer to the others. "Not to alarm you guys but... I don't think we're entirely alone."

Axel scowled stretching his legs out and shifting the two off his lap onto the cold ground where they cursed at him. "You guys stay here." Roxas made another audible whine, displeased with the idea while the tall red head rolled his eyes. His eyes skimmed the ground and when they landed on a branch that had yet to be added to the fire, he took a firm hold of it to show it to the two blonds. "Look, it's the best I have but it's better then not taking anything at all right?"

As Axel walked towards the darkness, the feeling of nyctophobia began to set in. It wasn't something that Axel had ever had before, but it was as intense now as if it had been rooted to his mind since the day he gasped his first breath. The red head's breathing quickened as the darkness embraced him, the cold of the night smothering him. All at once, without time to look, he felt weightless as his feet left the ground. It felt as though time had stopped and he heard himself exhale slowly. When he felt his shoulder connect with something cold and hard time sped up again. He was crumpled against the ground, a streak of pain warmed him as it flared down his spine and across his head. Axel was horribly dizzy. His vision blurred and he was seeing double but only hearing one as a set of foot steps crunched over the ground, crushing dry leaves and fallen twigs. "Welcome..." the voice breathed, cold yet gently around him. "To the echoing woods."
