Just wanted to apologize for the mistakes in the last chapter. Something came up and I guess I forgot to save and uploaded the sloppy copy.
*~The Mistake~*
Step one, wake up. The process of Pan waking up consisted of pillow throwing, cursing, and yelling. The half-Saiyan girl hated Mondays, correction, despised Mondays with every fiber of her being. She didn't know why but they always pissed her off to no extent. The true reason for this deep seated hatred was unknown even to her. Maybe it was due to the fact that her weekend, and thus her free time was over for the time, replaced by a week of hard work, early mornings and annoying school life
Step two brought showering, what could probably be considered the longest showers in the world to some. After cleansing herself, Pan would fall practically asleep under the cascade of water, Goten's incessant complaining being the only thing that kept her conscious.
Step three came with dressing and hair. Pan absolutely hated doing her hair this early in the morning. It took her twenty minutes to straighten her mane she called hair, and five minutes to dress in her school uniform. The only part of this process she actually appreciated was when she got to put on the orange bandanna that her father had given her. It was the only article of clothing that she actually cared about, and it meant the world to the girl.
The final part and quite frankly Pan's overall favorite, was breakfast! Pan was the last to make it down. Her brother and father were practically inhaling the food as her mother continued to place more and more on the table. It was almost like some freakish assembly line of sorts, with the product being devoured ravenously at the end, rather than being fully assembled
"Morning everyone." The Saiyan greeted.
"Morning Panny." Goten responded
"Morning sweetie." Goku said, barely lifting his head from his food to speak
"Pan, you have to hurry and eat. Goten has to leave early." Chichi told her, the woman's voice as worried as it always was"
She took a seat next to her brother and grabbed a plate and began to pile it high with food. "Why?"
"Because I'm going to go look at colleges." Goten proudly announced with a belch.
"Can you believe your brother is going to college, Gohan's almost done with law school, and Videl's baby will be having a baby near Christmas!" her mother listed off with a big grin on her face. Honestly, it seemed that all Chichi ever cared about was school and the children her family and friends were going to have.
"No if only you would leave that whore Celese." The woman retorted. Pan's mother wasn't too fond of Valese. The girl was far too dumb and Chichi was honestly scared her grandkids would inherit her poor genes.
"It's Valese mama." Pan quickly corrected.
"And she's not a whore." He argued.
Chichi rolled her eyes as she sat next to her husband. "Believe what you want."
"Why don't you go out with Bra, she's pretty. Besides, we already know her family too." Goku suggested.
Goten gagged and his sister snickered.
"Yes why not Bra? She's rich, well-bred, and Bulma and I can finally be real sisters!" her mother happily exclaimed.
"We're going Panny." Goten said, grabbing his book bag and keys from the ground. It was obvious that he was more than a little perturbed by their mother's commentary.
The younger girl continued to snicker and followed him out the back door.
Homeroom was English, Pan's favorite class. She always finished her work early and was allowed to do whatever she pleased, as long as it didn't disturb the rest of the class of course. Second was chemistry. She passed the class, but her grades were not exactly considered spectacular. She always got confused with the electrons, protons, and all the other particle related things involved.
Then came Spanish class, also one of her favorites. Sadly for her however, the period before lunch was Calculus, the class she just wanted to die in. While chemistry was at least manageable, calculus was just hell on earth.
Pan sat at her desk, writing random numbers, letters and formulas down when she felt her phone buzz. She took a quick scan of the class room for any snitches and the teacher, before covertly taking it out and laying it on her lap under the desk
What the hell do u want Bra?
Three minutes later she replies. Of course, Bra didn't have the grace to type back immediately. Here she was trying her best to sneak her message through, and the bluette just had to make her wait.
Goin shopping after school, wanna come?
Pan let out a little groan, careful to be quiet enough so she wasn't heard.
Plz no!
I'm just gonna take that as a yes. Pick u up at 3:30, k?
The brunette carefully tucked her phone away and laid her head on the top of her desk. Only seven more months until June.
Lunch finally came around. Pan didn't really like to socialize a lot, so instead of sitting in the cafeteria all period, she decided to go to Whole Foods. While it wasn't really much more exciting than staying in the cafeteria, it did happen to serve the absolute best pizza, hands down. When she arrived, the girl swiftly got her soda, pizza, and chips, then walked to dining area. Half-way through her meal she started to write on her latest poem.
"Hey what you writing!"
The deep voice scared the shit out of Pan, nearly making her run the pen across the paper in fright. Her heart skipped about three beats as she instantly turned around and hit the person responsible.
"What the fuck!" the Saiyan screamed at Trunks.
"Calm down." he chuckled, taking a seat right next to the girl.
She merely growled and looked back down at the notebook, glad that nothing was ruined.
"Whatcha doing?" Trunks asked, in a teasy, sing-songy tone.
"Writing." Pan answered flatly, her voice cold and uncompromising.
"May I read?" Trunks asked, his eyes focusing on the black cover of the notebook Before the girl could muster up an answer he took it anyways.
"No, that's personal!" Pan shouted, nearly diving out of her seat as she tried to get the notebook back.
"Roses are red, a stupid way to start a poem. Everyone knows roses are different colors." He reads, his voice holding a tone that almost sounds like he is mocking the way it was written.
The girl turned beet red as she finally managed to snatch it out of his hands, retrieving journal before he could read any more.
"You're pretty good Pan-chan." he said softly, not wanting to comment on what he had read below that poem
"What are you even doing over here?" she asked rudely, closing the book and putting it back in her bag
"I was on this side of town and decided to grab a bite, that's all." Trunks answered.
"Well if you don't mind, I gotta head back." Pan hastily replied as she gathered her belongings together in preparation.
"Let me drop you off." He insisted, his voice a little too eager
The girl briefly pulled out her phone, hoping she would have enough time to get there by herself. Unfortunately for her, she had less than ten minutes to get back to class. She grunted once more, and slid out of the booth. "Fine."
Trunks followed close behind as the girl walked. "Why so grumpy, put a smile on your face." he said, obviously not understanding that she was annoyed.
"I'm not grumpy, I'm being me." Pan firmly told him. "If you don't like it, then please, go somewhere else and read a happier girl's notebook."
"Bra was right, you are a miserable person." he silently commented, wanting to avoid the focal point of her wrath.
Although she managed to hear it, Pan merely rolled her eyes and brushed it aside. It wasn't that Pan was unhappy or miserable as Bra had apparently said, it was just that she was…different than the rest of the girls at the school, not peppy inexhaustible energy fountains that they all seemed to be.
Trunks pulled his keys out of his pocket and walked to the driver side of the silver Sedan.
"Nice ride." she complimented as the girl stepped in.
"Thanks."
Trunks backed out and began to drive the route to OSHS. What confused and scared me is when he sped up and drove pass the school.
"Trunks, drop me off before I get in trouble!" she ordered, panicking as she saw the school fade into the distance
"You don't know how to live, and for the rest of the day, that's what I'm going to teach you." he replied with a laugh, distressing her even further.
Pan took out her phone, only to have it snatched away and calmly dropped out the window. As he did this, time seemed to slow to basically a crawl, shattering alongside her temper as the device left her view
"That was an iPhone5 you ignorant fool!" the Saiyan shouted, her voice cracking due to the volume
"I'll buy you a new one."
"Ass." she mumbled.
"Bitch." He instantly replied.
"Where are you even taking me?"
"Back when I was in school, Goten and I would ditch and go to Skating Rink." Trunks responded.
"I don't skate." I said bluntly, folding my arms over my chest.
"Well so sad, too bad."
"You know you're practically kidnapping me."
"Yes, maybe I might sell you."
She defiantly grunted in response, getting tired of his little stings
"Jerk."
It wasn't long before they arrived at the Skating Rink, which was packed. Surprisingly, lots of kids from Orange Star High were there. While the two were skating a few girls recognized Trunks and begged to take pictures.
"So you having fun?" He asked.
She only shrugged, not really showing much emotion whatsoever
"Why are you so depressing, were you like abused or something?" Trunks questioned.
The girl laughed a bit. Honestly, both of them know the answer to that question.
Trunks got up and pulled her out of the booth. "Before I take you back you're going to have fun."
I propped my hands on my hips and sighed. "And how do you suppose you're gonna do that."
He smirked and grabbed her precious bandana. At this point, she was really getting sick of him snatching various things away from her. Trunks skated off, flipping her the bird as he skated off. Pan let out a loud yell, then skated after him.
Trunks turned around and started to skate backwards, noticing that the girl wasn't having the easiest time keeping up with him "Want your scarf?"
"No, I want you to keep it." The brunette replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes
Trunks grinned evilly and slipped the scarf down his pants, only leaving a bit out as he let out a devilish chuckle. At the sight of such a violation, Pan slipped up, falling down with less than catlike grace.
"You're a pervert, you know that?"
He took a brief bow, before skating off, his voice trailing away as he moved "I'll give it to you when you catch me!"
"YOU'RE SO CHILDISH!"
The next twenty minutes was spent trying to get that bandana back. Trunks was right about one thing here, Pan was out of shape. Every time she was a fingertip away, he would always manage to move just faster than her, staying teasingly close as he drifted away.
After a bit of chasing, Pan finally had enough and took a seat on one of the benches. When Trunks finally decided to approach her, she just turned her head away
"Sour puss." Trunks mumbled as he waved the scarf right in front of her face. The girl didn't move, she rather waited there, following it with her eyes until she found the perfect moment to lunge out and snatch it from his grasp. Unfortunately for her, once her plan managed to succeed, she was brought head first into what appeared to be another person's stomach.
The force of the impact sent them right into a wall, resulting in a credible amount of pain as well as a highly embarrassing situation for Pan as she landed right on top of this newcomer.
"Sorry." Both people apologized at the same time. Pan chuckled a little as she pushed herself up. Now that she could see his whole face, she noticed that he was actually quite cute. He had dark skin, dark brown eyes, and a dark brown mohawk.
Pan could definitely tell that he noticed her, as he was looking right at the girl, smiling shyly as she brushed herself off.
"I-I'm Uub by the way." He mumbled, extending his hand.
The Saiyan reached for his hand and smiled brightly. "Pan."
"HANDS OFF SISTER!"
Both of them looked at the black girl, who was making her way to the scene of the crash. First thought that came to Pan's mind was that she was his girlfriend, and she wanted to fight.
"Celeste, you're gonna have to stop doing this. People are going to start thinking you're my girlfriend or something." Uub insisted. She sighed in relief, Chichi would have killed her if she found out that she managed to get into a fight and skip school.
The brown hair girl rolled her eyes and scoffed. "I just don't want any hoochie mamas all ova ya jock."
Pan could hear Trunks laughing behind her. She scowled and mentally cursed at him. He could have stopped all this from happening and he knew it.
"Sister, this is Pan, she is not a hoochie." Uub said, pointing over at the girl.
Celeste narrowed her eyes and looked Pan up and down. Then it happened, her light brown eyes had finally found Trunks. The girl's whole demeanor suddenly changed from bitchy to nearly angelic.
"Trunks, remember me?" Celeste screamed, encircling her arms around him.
Trunks looked at Pan and she shrugged her shoulders in response.
"Sorry, don't." Trunks sighed, pushing her away.
"Celeste, from high school. We went to Homecoming Coming together our freshman year." Celeste added.
"OHHH! Now I remember, I was your first kiss." Trunks replied with a chuckle. Luckily she didn't catch the laughter.
"I'm sorry for my sister, she's over protective." Uub said.
The Saiyan girl simply giggled. "I understand, I have two brothers."
"Is he one?"
For once Pan shook her head out of happiness and relief, rather than annoyance.
"Is he your boyfriend?"
"No just a family friend."
"Good, because I was wondering…maybe I could take you on a date?"
Pause! Million questions swarmed Pan's head at once. Where? What? Why? Who? When? A date? He only knew her name and nothing else. For all this guy knew, PAN COULD BE A FREAKIN MURDERER!
"Pan?" He called.
"Sorry, I- I don't know. I don't really date." she confessed, a slight tinge of regret in her voice.
"Swear!" He exclaimed. It was very obvious he didn't believe a word she was saying.
The girl sighed deeply and nodded her head. "My mom is super over protective."
"I would be too with a pretty daughter like you." Uub replied.
Pan's cheeks immediately turned a bright shade of red. She most certainly wasn't the type of girl who received compliments every day, but when she did, they were most certainly appreciated.
"Thanks." The brunette replied, smiling. "Let me see your phone?"
"Why?"
"So I can take it." She smartly retorted.
He caught the sarcasm and handed it over. Pan quickly typed in her number and handed it back.
"Uh, thanks." Uub said, with a big grin.
"Doofus over there broke my phone so it'll be a few weeks before I get my new one."
"Come on Uuby, we're leaving." Celeste hissed. "Apparently Mr. Briefs is in a relationship." The woman grabbed her sibling by the collar and dragged him to the skating desk.
"I'll email you." He shouted.
The dark haired girl giggled and waved. That's when Trunks put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close.
"Pan-chan, trying to get the D I see."
"You are soo, immature!" the girl shouted, pulling herself out of his embrace
And so the rest of the day they spent riding around town. The two even manged to go to the lake where they swam and took various pictures. Honestly, she hadn't had fun like this in ages, despite how readily she wanted to admit it. Trunks really knew how to bring the kid out in someone, that's for sure.
They sat on the sand and let the water wet their feet. When sunset came, people began to leave, making it that much more peaceful, that is, until the realization of their situation hit Pan in the face like a ton of bricks.
"Fuck!" she cursed, realizing how late it was. Pan slid her hands down her pocket, remembering that fucktard broke her phone as she felt nothing but an empty void.
"What?" Trunks asked.
"I'm grounded for the rest of my life!" the brunette yelled, burying her face in her hands.
"Oh snap, Chichi going to whip your ass, hahahaha." He sang.
Pan grabbed her shoes and staggered up to her feet. She began to jog to the car and he followed close behind, obedient and compliant for once.
Minutes later the two came to a stop. A bunch of people were surrounding Trunks's car. "What are these people doing by your car?"
"THERE SHE IS!"
"Fuck it's the press." He cursed. Before Pan could comment, he grabbed her hand and began to run, nearly tearing her arms off in the process. It was thirty minutes of running before they lost them. By then, Pan certainly knew her life was over.
She collapsed to the sand and buried her face into her pale knees. "Well I'll be grounded until the end of time." The girl lifted her head up and glared daggers at Trunks. "This is all your fault, if you had just dropped me off at school we wouldn't be in this predicament. This is why I like to keep to myse-"
Her sentence was cut off by Trunks' hand over her mouth. "Please stop complaining, have you forgotten you are a Saiyan and can fly?"
The girl bit his hand out of anger, getting up as he ripped his injured limb away from her. "That's it! You aren't allowed to talk to me anymore."
The moment had come. The moment the Saiyan girl would have to knock on the door and practically stare death in the face. To be brutally honest, she was ready to piss her pants. Trunks had insisted he be there when she explained to her parents why she wasn't present at school.
"Just get it over with." Trunks said.
Pan hissed and knocked on the door. No more than ten seconds later Goten opened the door and pulled her in.
"Mom and Dad went searching for you. You have about ten minutes to do everything you want to do before you die." Goten said quickly.
She merely gulped at this. "I'm gonna call B-chan. Give me your phone Trunks."
He didn't protest and tossed it to her without hesistation.
"Make sure you tell her everything you need, because that's going to be the last phone call you make in years." Goten replied.
The now doomed girl ran upstairs to her room, closing the door as if she thought it would actually do anything to help her. She quickly dialed Bra's number, hoping for salvation, or at the very least, a bit of comfort in her final hour.
"PAN!"
"BRAAA!"
"MARRON'S GOING TO FUCK YOU OVER SO BAD UNTIL YOU CAN'T BE FUCKED OVER ANYMORE! THEN SHE'S GOING TO FUCK YOU OVER AGAIN!"
"WAIT WHY!"
"YOU AND TRUNKS ARE ALL OVER THE NEWS, MAGAZINES, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, FACEBOOK, TUMBLR, HELL EVEN PEOPLE STARTED MAKING FANFICTIONS FOR Y'ALL."
"I SWEAR TO KAMI I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!"
"I KNOW PAN!"
"WHAT DO I DO?!"
"I GOT YOU GIRL. ALL I NEED YOU TO DO IS KEEP YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS LOCKED. MARRON'S CRAZY!"
"SON PAN! Get down here NOOOOOOOOOOW!"
"...Uh, bye!" Bra said as she hung up, her voice the sound of someone who had just heard the hounds of hell approaching. Honestly Pan didn't blame her, who wanted to hear her mother's yelling.
Dende, I'm only eighteen. I'm too young to die. the terrified girl thought to herself as she dragged herself down the stairs. Only a fraction of a second elapsed after her toes touched the floor, before WHAM!
"EXPLAIN YOURSELF!" Chichi boomed in a demonic tone. Her eyes were literally in flames and her teeth were sharper than a Saiyan's
Pan fell down, cradling her head in a mixture of defense and pure terror. "I- I uh-"
"She was working on a project with me." Trunks spoke up. WHAM!
"What project?" the woman asked, balling her fist in preparation for another strike.
"Well it's um- um a project to keep girls her age from getting pregnant." Trunks announced. WHAM! By then he was almost in tears.
"You should have asked before kidnapping my daughter!" she snarled, her stare boring a hole through the poor boy's head.
"Gomen, Chichi-sama." Trunks apologized, not wanting to be struck again.
"As for you missy, you are grounded for two months. No electronics, no mall, and no friends over." Chichi declared, extending her hand as she patiently waited for the girl to deliver her devices of leisure.
Pan walked upstairs and grabbed her two laptops, contemplating turning them on one last time before she brought them down to their inevitable doom. "Happy?"
"No, where's your phone?" the woman sternly demanded, her gaze no letting up in the least bit.
"I misplaced it." Pan briskly answered, knowing that telling the truth would only end up with her having to dig Trunks a shallow grave instead of eating dinner with her family.
"BUT! I'm going to by her a new one." Trunks added, attempting to put himself in a good light in front of Pan's vindictive mother.
It was then that Chichi finally relented, sighing a little in response. "Trunks you're welcome to stay for dinner."
"Thanks Chichi." Trunks beamed. After all, Marron was at home waiting for him with a gun. Why would he want to go back to his home so soon? Chichi could and definitely would murder him if the truth came out, but at least he wouldn't be facing the torture Marron probably had planned for him.
Pan's mother walked down the hallway into the kitchen, just in time for Goku and Goten to return. When they saw that Chichi hadn't brutalized Pan, they both breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
"Are you guys okay?" her father asked, giving Pan a quick hug.
Both of the teenagers nodded, trying their best to look like there was no reason whatsoever for her family to be worried.
Goten sighed in relief. "I thought you two were goners out there!"
"We are okay, but thanks to Trunks, I have to do a project with him about PREGNANT TEENS!" the girl shouted, taking his act of salvation for granted.
"Hey, you should be thanking me." Trunks returned, giving her a look that clearly showed that he never intended to do something like this for her.
This is how the rest of Pan's day should have went. She should have gone back to school like a normal student, left at the end of the day for the mall, and return home, phone intact, at a normal time. Instead, her day was completely ruined by a certain lavender headed boy, and her hopes and dreams for the future were shattered, just like the screen of her now demolished phone.
If she had to take something out of the day however, she could at least say that she got an early taste of what hell had to offer. At least she wasn't going to die unprepared anymore.
