"Eiko!"
"Ei-san!"
Both Fuji and Yukimura burst through the door of the infirmary in their university campus. The news just reached them that their friend, Kikumaru Eiko, was rushed their after one of her classes.
The scene they came upon was so cute that both of them cooed internally before returning to their concern; Eiko was sitting on one of the beds, tears in her bright blue eyes, while in front of her, the doctor, Oishi Shuichirou, had her foot on his lap. One of his hands was wiping her tears away with a soft smile as the second massaged her skin in circles.
"It's okay, now. Everything's fine." Oishi was telling her, when she sobbed. The black-haired man then turned to them at the door and smiled, "Fuji-chan, Yukimura-chan," he ushered them to enter, ".. don't worry, she just got a bruise."
The two best friends sighed in relief and walked towards the red-haired girl.
"Fujiko.. Yuki.." Eiko called but then gasped when something cold touched her skin and she looked down to find Oishi spreading a lotion on the sore part of her foot. She smiled slightly.
Fuji sat beside her, "When we heard that you were here, we thought something serious happened to you."
"Yeah," Yukimura offered, standing on her other side, "everyone in your class said that you tripped."
Eiko nodded, "I tripped with a small chair I didn't notice in the way. It really hurt!"
"I'm sure it did." The brunette said with a smile. Eiko could be such a kid, sometimes..
Oishi looked up at her and smiled brightly, "Just don't move it too violently, and this bruise will never hurt you and it will disappear in no time."
"Really?" she pouted.
"Yes, really."
"Okay~! Thank you, Oishi-san~!" her cheerful side bounced in.
"Byyyye~!"
"Eiko, you can stop now." Yukimura shook her head with an amused smile.
In a second, Eiko turned to them and an adoring look filled her eyes as she sighed dreamily, "I love him.."
"Good. Knowing the problem is half the cure." Fuji nodded her head thoughtfully.
Eiko shrieked, "Dame! I don't want to get cured from this!" then sighed again with a blush. "He's really wonderful.. I wonder if he's available.."
"That's the spirit, Eiko. Go for it."
"Sei-chan, I love you!"
Yukimura giggled. "I know."
"Tadaima."
When she heard no response, Yukimura got curious. Sanada had said that he would be back early this whole week, and he was for the past three days, so why wasn't he responding now?
The bluenette went to the kitchen only to find it empty, save for the mess that was out to prepare dinner, no doubt.
She casted a long look up the stairs to the forbidden door –as she called it-, but then shook her head and went inside. What was he trying to do? Eggplants, meat and.. jam..? That didn't seem so appealing..
"I apologize for the mess," Sanada's voice startled her and she turned around. She didn't even hear him come down, ".. I got a call from work while I was rearranging the fridge and had to go upstairs."
"Ah.." Thankfully there would never be a mix of the three ingredients from before..
Sanada turned to her, "Does take-out sound good?"
"No problem."
"Go to your room and freshen up, then. We'll discuss dinner when you get done."
Yukimura nodded and grabbed her bag from the doorway.
As she closed the door behind her, her mind reflected on the past weeks spent with this Sanada Genichirou. Living with him, she thought, was not really bad; he was a decent man in all means. The bluenette took a quick shower and wore a simple t-shirt along with shorts then went down again.
"Sanada-sa-.." she stopped at the doorway of the kitchen when she saw him speaking on the phone.
"Ah. The file shall be sent to Atobe by tomorrow." Sanada then turned to her and pointed to a small pile of shiny papers on the counter.
"I know." She heard him say before a couple of positive grunts. His next sentence, though, made her pause.
"Yes. See you tomorrow, Tezuka."
Yukimura turned to him with a tilt of her head, "Tezuka as in.. Tezuka Kunimitsu?"
The black-haired man looked at her curiously "Ah."
"How do you know him?"
He raised an eyebrow at her, "How do you know him?"
The bluenette raised her head haughtily, "I asked first, you answer first."
With a shake of his head, Sanada walked to her, laid a hand on top of her blue locks, then lowered her head forcefully and almost smirked when she sent him a glare. "Manners, young lady." He ruffled her hair harshly, "At this rate, you'll never get a boyfriend."
Yukimura fought to remove his hand, but when she succeeded, her neatly brushed hair was sticking out everywhere, "You're mean." She backed away and brushed her hair back into place with her hand before glaring at him again "And what does this have to do with my love life?"
Sanada shrugged, "It does.", he turned around, "Tezuka is a colleague of mine."
She blinked. Apparently, the world is a small place. "My friend knows him." She answered in turn. 'Wait until Syuusuke hears about this. She'll be surprised.' She thought. A light clicked on in her head and she leaned back on the counter behind her, "Speaking of love," she started with an innocent smile, "don't you have a girlfriend or something?"
Sanada closed his eyes before grabbing the phone again "Have you decided on what you want to eat?"
"You're changing the subject."
"I'm not."
"You are."
The black-haired man turned to her "I'm merely saving precious time from being wasted on useless things."
Wow, that was surprising. Yukimura pushed herself away from the counter and walked to him, "It's not useless! Love is important, even for a rock like you."
Sanada's eyebrow twitched "I beg your pardon?"
"I mean, someone like you." She chuckled sheepishly. Wrong word! She must control her thoughts before they leave her mouth and cause her troubles.
He shook his head and rubbed the back of his head. "With a little spoiled baby around, I can't have anything near that."
The younger felt her eyebrow twitch, "Excuse me?" she asked sweetly. Did he just call her spoiled?
"I mean, you around." Sanada smirked.
Yukimura stuck her tongue out at him, crossed her arms and turned around. "I want to eat pizza."
"I don't mind, baby." he thought he was teasing her, but then the bluenette turned halfway towards him and repeated slowly "Baby..?"
A couple of seconds passed in silence between them before Yukimura yelped playfully and yelled "You pervert! You just flirted with me, pedo!" then a bright idea hit her "Wait until I tell Syuu-chan about this!" and she ran out to her room.
"Wha- Wait!" a faint blush rose to his face as he got the meaning of it and he raced after her on the stairs, "Yukimura!"
"Not a chance, old rock!" she turned to stick her tongue out at him, but was surprised to find him right behind her, thus she lost her footing and slipped. Good luck or bad luck, she didn't know, when she fell on him and felt him pause before moving.
…
"Let me go!" she yelled as he hauled her over his shoulder and started going downstairs again. "I said, let me go!"
"Not a chance, kiddo." Yes, that's definitely a better word.
She growled at him and hit his back with her fists "Put me down!"
"Fine." In one swift movement, he threw her off his shoulder and let her fall on the sofa, but the sudden change in place made the bluenette clutch at the cushions. "You are a troublemaker." He reprimanded her and went out of the room.
Moments passed with her frowning at the ceiling for being beaten in a verbal battle for the fourth time by him.
'Just you wait, Sanada Genichirou..'
A/N: I don't know why, but a troubling Yukimura looks adorable.. is it good enough?
