Sian

I stood in front of the interview room that Sophie was currently in and hesitated as I opened the door. I looked at her and she looked like she'd been crying, I wanted to wrap my arms around her and tell her everything was going to be okay, but I couldn't.

She hadn't looked up yet which only made my nerves increase. I took a seat opposite her and Shayne took a seat next to me. I held my eyes on her as she still hadn't looked up.

"Soph" I call out even quieter than I had called Rosie's name.

Her head whipped up and we locked eyes. Her mouth opened and then shut and she glanced back down towards the table. "Sophie" I said a bit more louder this time, she looked up again but avoided eye contact with me.

"So you know her too?" Shayne asked.

I nodded and looked back at Sophie feeling slightly awkward, we hadn't spoken in years and this is how we reunite. Really.

Sophie looked at Shayne and he felt that was permission to start asking questions "So what happened tonight then?"

She ignored him, stared back at the table and started fiddling with her hands. She used to do that when she hated the situation she was in.

I glanced at Shayne and felt bad for asking him to leave but I knew I had to "Shayne, can you give us a few minutes?"

He looked back at me and understood and just left. I heard the door close behind him and I quickly got up and went over to Sophie's side.

She looked up to see what I was doing as I sat on the table in front of her. "Are you okay?" I asked softly. "Rosie told me what happened"

She looked up at me and we locked eyes again, I could see the pain and hurt in them. I wanted to grab her and pull her into a hug. She glanced back at the table and I was started to get worried. I grab her hand and made her look a me "Tell me you're okay" I whispered, not knowing the emotion I would feel. "Please"

She looked at me and nodded. "I'm okay"

I breathed out a breath and squeezed her hand before seeing her bruised wrists. I gasp and start to roll down her sleeve only to have Sophie pull her arm back. I look at her hurt and confused.

Sophie

What the fuck. Today has been a fucking sickening roller-coaster. Rosie comes home, we go out, a girl gives me her number, a guy forces himself on me and now I'm sat opposite Sian Powers.

I look into her hurt eyes as I pull my arm back and I instantly feel guilty. Fuck sake, why does she still have to be so beautiful? "Sorry"

She sakes her head "No, its okay"

She's been crying, I always could tell when Sian had been crying, it was like a gift of mine, I could read her so very well. "How's Rosie" I ask thinking back to my broken looking sister.

Sian looked at me and nodded "She's okay, she's worrying about you" I looked down. "Soph, can you tell me what happened?"

I looked up "If Rosie already told you then why do I need to?"

"I need to hear your side of the story" soft, her voice is so soft, I love it.

I breathed out and started "These two guys approached us and Rosie told them to leave us alone, we moved to the other side of the bar to get away from them but the must've followed us because the next minute I felt a hand on my bum" I could see Sian jaws clenching, she was angry "Rosie stood in front of them to tell them to get lost and I pulled her arm back because I thought she was making it worse" I paused looking at Sian who was looking at me with saddened eyes "That's when it happened, the younger one grabbed Rosie and was holding her so she couldn't move and the older one" I paused again thinking back to what happened and closing my eyes trying to stop the tears.

I felt Sian grab my arm softly and I opened my eyes at the touch, I copied her as she stood up. She wrapped her arms around her and pulled me into a hug. And I lost it, I cried onto her shoulder hugging her back. She was stroking me back and it felt amazing, like she really cared.

"It's okay" She soothed, which only made me break down even more.

After a few minutes of crying, I settled down and Sian released me and placed her hand on my face to wipe at my tears, I closed my eyes as fresh tears started to goosebumps on my cheeks couldn't control themselves at her touch, my face instantly warmed up and I had to stop myself from holding her hand there.

I opened my eyes to see her looking at me with watery eyes, she had been crying too. I wanted to lean in and kiss her, God damn it the way she was looking at me made me think she wanted that too.

The door opened at entered the policeman that was here before. I instantly look down and wipe at my eyes before retaking my seat. Sian stands there and makes no sign she's going to move.

"All done?" The male asks

Sian looks at me and shakes her head. The male then leaves us to it once more.

"I'm sorry" she confesses. I look at her urging her to go on "for leaving, for running away, I was so stupid." She looks me dead in the eye "I'm sorry" oh no, she's going to cry again.

I stood up and joined her not really knowing what to do. I reached out for her hand and she happily gave it to me "It's okay" It wasn't okay but what was I supposed to say.

She looked at our hands and she squeezed mine making my heart flutter. "Its not" What is happening, she's supposed to be interviewing me but instead we're talking about us. I release my hand from hers and I see a glimmer of disappointment on her face. "I missed you" she spoke so quietly I could barely hear her.

"I missed you too" I replied looking at the floor. I looked up and she was smiling, smiling because I'd missed her.

The door opened once more and the other policeman entered, "Sian, I need to see you outside" She looked up at me and then followed him outside.

It was quiet for a while until I heard some raised voices. "Sian, your'e emotionally involved, I think it's best if you let me take over"

"No, they've told me what happened and I believe them" Sian shot back

"He's in hospital Sian, he's in a coma"

"Yeah, and he fucking deserves it" Sian replied angrily. "The other guy admitted to everything too, isn't that enough?"

"Sian" The man's voice softened "I know what happened to you may be clouding your judgement here but we have to follow procedures"

"DON'T" Sian shouted "Don't you dare use what happened to me as an excuse for what I believe, they are telling the truth you want to investigate more go ahead, but they're both leaving here today"

What the hell happened to her? Something bad must have happened, I really want to know now. There was a few moments of silence before the door re opened showing a rather tired looking Sian. "Soph, you're free to go"

"Just like that?" I knew she wasn't following the right procedures and I didn't want her to risk her job for me. She nodded slowly and held the door open. I stood up and walked through it. "What about Rosie?" She nodded again and I relaxed at her answer.

We headed for the room Rosie was in but as soon as we entered we heard snoring. Sian shut the door and we both starting laughing, that felt good, it felt like I hadn't laughed in hours. I missed her laugh.

"You could come back in the morning to get her" Sian suggested, I nodded and headed to the exit. "I'll drop you"

"You don't have to" I started "I'll get a cab"

"Soph, I'm dropping you. My shift finished half an hour ago and I will only worry if I don't, so let me drop you. Okay?"

"Okay" I simply replied
