After our delightful lunch I took the long way to get to English class, I preferred being late to everything rather than early. Two minutes after the bell rang I walked into class and sat at my seat earning a scowl from the teacher.

"Ms. Martins thanks for gracing the class with your presence!" Mrs. Crane said in the most sarcastic tone ever might I add.

"Now class the next assignment you will be doing is due at the end of class and is partner work"

Well isn't that just freaking delightful. Please tell me this is some sick joke world.

"Before you all get excited and pick your partners let me just tell you, that you will be working with your seating partner. No if's and's or but's."

Thank you sweet universe today is the day hawk dude decided to skip, remind me to send that kid an edible arrangement or something as a token of my appreciation for not showing up to-

"Hey Mrs. Crane sorry I'm late I was writing a test." Mohawk guy apologized as he sauntered into his seat next to me.

"Bro, what are we even doing?" Puck asked to the gorilla wearing a letterman jacket three rows ahead of us.

Before the jackass could even respond he looked at me and started giggling like a 2 year old girl.

"Dude you're doing an assignment with your partner." He said in a fit of laughter whilst pointing at me.

"Hey jerkoff why don't you take that smirk off your face and sh-."

"Thanks Dave!" Puck cut me off right as I was about to tell that smug bastard to shove it.

"So Vanessa, what do you want me to do since you already started" He inquired with a sheepish smile.

Do my ears defy me? Is he actually willing to help!

"You identify the symbols in the poem, I've already started analyzing the first stanza." Was my response with my signature glare intact, he's still not worthy of my kindness.

With fifteen minutes of class left the hawk and I had finished analyzing the different poems that where handed to us.

"So" Puck began.

"So" I replied.

"How do you like McKinley?" he finally asked after multiple moments of awkward silence.

I gave him the most serious stare of my life; if looks could kill I'm pretty sure everyone in that room would have lost their pulse in that instant.

He looked at me intent on my answer. After pondering the question for a few more minutes I leaned back in my seat and simply stated my response.

"McKinley sucks more balls than a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos."

This caused Puck to laugh, and not just giggle or chortle I mean he was ready to roll on the floor. I even started laughing seeing him turn blue from a lack of oxygen caused by his laughter.

"Puckerman, Martins what the hell is wrong with you!" Mrs. Crane shouted from her desk causing everyone to jump out of their seat and ogle at us.

"You two are consistently late for class, both of you barely do any work when you are in class, and are never paying attention." She was on a rampage I mean her eyes were fiery red, her hair was chaotic, there was smoke coming out of nose. She looked like Dudley the dragon's evil twin sister that was coming after us.

"Both of you detention here after school for half an hour, no excuses." Were her last words as the bell rang signaling class was over.

As I began walking to my locker Puck appeared beside me.

"Hey, I'm so sorry about getting us both in trouble" he laughed "but that line was too much for me to handle, see you later." He chuckled as he walked away.

"V what are you doing talking to him, I thought he was your arch nemesis or something with your reaction to him in science today." Josh said to me.

"Sometimes you got to have a little faith in me. Small actions equal a bigger picture young one."

"You know I'm six months older than you right?" He asked rhetorically as he flung his lanky arm around my slender shoulders and led us to class.

At the end of the day I walked to Mrs. Crane's class trying to get my punishment over and done with.

"Cell phone on my desk, I'll tell you when it's time to leave." She stated as I walked into class.

About five minutes in to my detention Puckerman decided to waltz in.

"Thanks for finally arriving that's an extra ten minutes to both of your detentions."

"What the hell that a bunch of bull! Why do I get an extra ten minutes because he decided to show up late?"

"That's and extra five minutes for both of you and the more you complain the more time I'm going to keep on adding." She announced with a smirk. We both shut up after that.

"Sorry" Puck mouthed extra careful not to make a sound.

"Fuck you" was my response.

At last the detention from hell ended and as I walked to my car I saw Berry and Josh leaning against the back of it.

"Awe, you guys waited for me!" I exclaimed with a big bright smile.

"No shit, you're our ride." Josh answered, Rachel giggled.

"Oh right..."

As we all piled in to the Impala I remembered something.

"Rachel, my dad's going away next weekend. You know what that means!"

"Please don't say you're throwing a party."

"God Rach sometimes I swear you're a mind reader."
