Hello there ! I'm sorry I'm not really regular. There's a lot going on in my life (studies, internships, personal problems,…) and I don't have as much time as I'd like to (and I must confess, sometimes I don't feel like writing… please don't hate me :p). But hey, here is the new chapter and I hope you'll like it.
Disclaimer : I only own Naiade and Yuki. The rest goes to Chinomiko.
Chapter 4 : Admitting you love Ketchup isn't a crime
The two teenage girls were now heading back to their house. ''Are you sure you don't want to buy some clothes ?'' Naïade asked her best friend.
''Nah.'' Yuki responded without an ounce of hesitation. She had never loved shopping, not even with her friend. 'No money enough', 'Too hot outside', 'too tired to go'… every excuses were good to not go. Of course she liked having new clothes, but not the process itself.
''What's the excuse this time?''
''I-'' the young girl began before Naïade cut her off.
''No wait. Too tired?''
''No I-''
''Okay okay, so you have no money? I can give you, that's no problem.''
''COME ON, LET ME SPEAK!'' Yuki finally managed to say. Her friend had opened her mouth but immediately closed it. ''Thanks. Now listen to me : I don't want. That's all''.
''But why?''
''Because! Now let's go and talk about something else please''.
''Ok…''
Both girls were leaving when someone griped Naïade by her shoulder. ''Hey Naï!'' A male voice said.''Are you going shopping?'' Naïade flip-flopped to face him.
''Alexy! How are you? Oh, no sorry we're not, we were heading home…'' she started. ''Ah Yuki , this is Alexy. Remember my shopping companion? This is him.'' She added before anyone could say anything.
''So it is you! Nice to finally meet you.'' Alexy said with a bright smile. ''I was feeling sick yesterday so I didn't come but I think we're in the same class, aren't we?''
''Yep'' Naïade responded. ''She's with us.''
''Ah great! Then you're not shopping this morning… want to eat something? I'm inviting you!''
Yuki was starting to feel nervous. She was of course happy to finally meet Alexy after Naïade talked a lot about him. However she thought they would go home and eat some vegetables or fruits for lunch. But now, the young blue-haired man wanted to go to a restaurant…
''Don't make this kind of face Yu'' her best friend reprimanded her, noticing her annoyed facial expression. ''We can go to the pizzeria near the park? They also serve salad if I'm not wrong.''
''I'm okay if they have salad'' the young girl answered.
''Don't you like pizza?'' Alexy asked with a choked face. ''Everyone love pizza!''
''It's not that I-'' the teenage girl started before Naïade cut her off for the second time.
''She wants to lose weight, remember?''
''Naiade!'' Yuki cried out. ''Why did you tell him about that?!'' It was not supposed to be a secret but it was a sensitive subject and the girl didn't want everybody to know about it.
''Because I tell him everything. Plus, I didn't know it was top-secret''
Liar. Of course she knew she didn't want her to talk about that to all her new friends. How could she do that to her? At least, that was the first thought that came to her mind. But she also remembered that nobody knew about her eating habit, not even her best friend. However said one was not blind and she had noticed Yuki was not eating properly. Either way she was not aware of her issue or she was pretending not to know, in the end Yuki was able to eat the way she wished to and that was all that mattered.
''I forgot sorry… Maybe there are some vegetables left in my fridge-'' Alexy started before Naïade cut him off.
'She's making it a habit'
''No, we're going to the pizzeria'' the traitor protested before turning to face her best friend. ''And, of course, you're coming with us Yu. You don't have the choice anyway.'' She then started to walk, pulling Alexy by the arm.
''Wow easy!'' He protested, surprised to be pulled with so much strength.
Left alone on the spot, Yuki started to feel like crying. On one hand she wanted to go home and skip lunch. But in the other one, she wanted to spend time with her best friend and her new one. 'he seems really nice' she thought. Sighting, the brunette accepted to follow them.
Once they arrived at the restaurant, they sat down at the first table they saw.
''My brother should not be long'' Alex told them while they were looking at the menu.
''Great. This way Yuki's going to meet him''
''Well yeah, if he doesn't forget the time! He was still on his computer when I left''
''Guess he won't change either…'' Naïade said while looking at her best friend who were hiding herself behind the menu. ''I know you're listening you lassie''
The girl looked up immediately. 'what's with that nickname?!'
''How did you call me?!''
Her friend just smiled at her and turned back towards Alex who was starting to laugh.
''Never!'' He answered Naiade's previous statement.
After five minutes and a few quarrels between the two girls, the server came to asked what they wanted to order. Of course both Naïade and Alexy asked for a pizza before they finally turned towards the school girl.
''What about you miss?'' Asked the server.
''Is it possible to have just some salade please?''
The man seemed a bit surprised but didn't make any comment. ''Yes, of course'' he nodded. ''Do you want something to drink?''
Yuki looked at the other before ordering a jug of water. The server left after taking their menu back. She then noticed Alexy was staring at her.
''What?'' She asked with a slight smile.
''I don't think you're overweighted, you know? I mean, to me, you're good as you are'' he said, clearly wanting to be nice and friendly. It seemed like he really meant what he said.
''That's nice, thank you'' the brunette simply answered with a slight smile.
''I mean it. I wouldn't say it just to comfort you'' he insisted.
''I'm not doubting you'' she giggled. ''I'm just not in the mood to have pizza right now. Don't worry.''
Seeing the conversation wouldn't go much further, Naïade decided to change the subject. ''So, Alex. Do you have some guys on sight?''
'oh no, not that…'
''Not for the moment, but I look forward to it!'' He laughed. ''What about you?''
''Same! But that's just the beginning of the year, we still got time ahead of us'' She answered with a slight giggle.
Yuki could already feel her turn coming… She wanted so bad to be so tiny no one would notice her.
''And you?'' The young blue-haired man asked her.
'shit!'' She internally cried out.
''Er… nop. I don't have-''
''Yep Castiel of course!'' The despicable blonde traitor who was supposed to be her best friend just cried.
''Hey not bad! And does he-'' Alexy began before he was interrupted by the now scarlet-red girl at his left side.
''Stop! I'm not into anybody, okay?! You're saying bullshit Naïade, stop that!''
Both her and the young man started to laugh.
''Oh. So why are you all red then?'' The blonde asked.
''I- No! That's not true!'' Yuki started to panic.
''You should not be ashamed, you know?'' Alexy tried to comfort her with a big smile.
''Beg you pardon?'' The tomato-girl asked.
''It's okay to be attracted to a guy'' he insisted.
She wanted to kill her best friend. Really, the food and now this? Did she want her to die of shame or something?
''I am N.O.T. attracted to anybody, okay?''
''Oh yeah.'' Naiade started. ''So you're all red when we talk about him, you become scarlet when you speak to him for too long… but you're not interested in him. Yeah, sounds logic''
Ok. Yuki had become all reddish and all, but it didn't mean anything. It couldn't.
Naïade however continued for half an hour to quote each arguments she could think about in order to prove her by A + B that her friend was indeed attracted by the red-haired man. Alexy was beginning to feel worried about his brother who wasn't responding to his calls. So he excused himself and left the restaurant.
''Let's go home? We got an hour ahead before the beginning of the class'' Yuki suggested.
''I'll join you in front of the class room five minutes before the start. I just remembered I need to buy 2-3 things.''
Naïade left like a fury and Yuki returned home in order to pack her school stuff. Once done, she left the house and decided to go. Arriving at the schoolyard, the girl sat down on a little bench, next to a big tree with pink flowers. She then turned her iPod on and closed her eyes, enjoying her last moment of loneliness.
Suddenly, she could guess a dark shadow through her still closed eyelids.
''Move Naï, please'' she asked, thinking it was her friend who was messing with her. Not receiving any answer, she sighed and opens an eyelid.
'Oops, she thought. Indeed, it was not her best friend but a Ketchup-haired man who stood in front of her, frowning eyebrows and arms crossed.
''Sorry, I thought it was Naïade. Anyway, you still have to move, you're hiding the sun'' Yuki then closed her eye again. 'please don't turn red…'
Unfortunately, Castiel didn't move an inch.
''Are you deaf Ketchup?' She ironized.
''Tss, stop that already''
Yuki laughed but didn't move either.
''You're getting on my nerves'' he growled between his teeth.
''Too bad…'' she continued. Sighting, the young man then sat down next to her. ''hey what do you think you're doing?!'' The school girl cried out while opening her eyes at once.
''I'm having a sit on my bench, isn't it obvious?'' He retorted.
She sighted back and closed her eyelids again while trying to forget Castiel was here.
''Hey! What are you doing again?!'' Yuki protested a second time. The man had stung her headphones and was now listening to her music as if it were a habit.
''Aerosmith?'' He asked, astonished.
''Yes'' the girl simply answered.
''Ok you got a point, you don't have bad taste for a girl''
"Thanks… I guess?" She answered incredulously, raising an eyebrow.
"It was a compliment" he pointed out.
"Yeah… well… You should practice a bit more then." she retorted.
This remark first made Castiel angry. But an idea suddenly emerged. Raising an eyebrow and smirking, he decided to make fun of her.
"Oh, you mean I should practice on you?"
Not expecting it, the brunette opened her eyes wide… and violently blushed.
"Wh-No! That's not what I-" she stuttered.
"You really have a crush on me, haven't you?" Castiel rubbed it in.
The young girl sniggered to hide her embarrassment. "Not at all." She took her headphone back and stood up. "I got to go." And then she was off.
I hope you enjoyed reading this chapter. I particularly loved writing the end (it's totally the way I'd react ahah). Also please don't hesitate to tell me if you've spotted any mistake, if you want to share your impression on this chapter or the whole fiction. Any critics (if accompanied by arguments, of course) is also appreciated. If you didn't like it, it's okay (it'd be awesome if you could tell me what is wrong to you) ; if you liked…well tell me 'cause it's always great to hear it! ^^'
See you in the next chapter !
