Authors note;

So, here we are again. Sorry for the wait guys, lots of stuff seemed to get in the way but good news is that I've got a pretty good idea of where I want this story to go. Here is part 1 of their second adventure, I wonder what will happen? I won't keep you any longer so *drum roll please* ENJOY! ~~~~~

Rose watched Thea's grin turn mischievous as she bounced next to the Doctor. There was a change in her somehow, an almost glow to her silver eyes that made her look like she belonged in this strange alien machine with an almost stranger alien man. Thea looked happy. Rose found herself grinning along with her as the Doctor began, "Right then, Thea Faye and Rose Tyler, you tell me. Where do you want to go? Backwards or forwards in time. It's your choice. What's it going to be?" Thea motioned for Rose to choose as she examined the technology of the console. Rose remembered that in school she had wanted to be an astrophysicist, but her mother had refused to pay for the schooling, so Thea had paved her own way, becoming a model to make her own money. This TARDIS would be fascinating to her in the fact that nothing had ever existed like it on Earth. Rose blurted out the first thing that came to mind. "Forwards." The Doctor flicked a few switches and asked again, "How far?" He seemed to almost be enjoying this as much as they were, showing them that the world they knew was about to get to much bigger. She shrugged, "One hundred years." He began his graceful dance of lever pushing and button pressing as the floor began to shake. Thea whooped and held on as they travelled for a few seconds before they landed with a clang. The Doctor motioned to the doors, looking smug. "There you go. Step outside those doors, it's the twenty second century." Thea laughed at the look on Rose's face as she asked sceptically, "You're kidding?" The Doctor shrugged, still looking please with himself as he stated, "That's a bit boring, though. Do you want to go further?" Two could play that game. Rose crossed her arms and replied, "Fine by me." He resumed his driving before they landed again. This time he turned to Thea and said, "Ten thousand years in the future. Step outside; it's the year 12005, the new Roman Empire." Thea just smirked at him, "You think you're so impressive." The Doctor looked mock offended and cried, "I am so impressive!" She only laughed, "You wish." He grinned at them both, a spark lighting up in his eyes. "Right then, you asked for it. I know exactly where to go. Hold on!" Thea and Rose clung to the railings side by side as he ran around, steering them down the time vortex. Rose turned to Thea and called out over the engines, "You convinced him to take me as well didn't you!" Thea rolled her eyes and called back, "You ever doubted me?"

.

When they finally landed, Thea asked, "Where are we? What's out there?" The Doctor simply motioned to the door. That was all they needed because Rose and Thea ran from the TARDIS, down the stairs like children and stopped in front of a large shutter that opened to reveal an orbital view of their home planet. Earth in its finest. The two friends stood there staring in wonder at their planet. The Doctor stopped next to Thea and said to them, "You lot, you spend all your time thinking about dying, like you're going to get killed by eggs or beef or global warming or asteroids. But you never take time to imagine the impossible, that maybe you survive. This is the year five point five slash apple slash twenty six. Five billion years in your future, and this is the day-" He looked at his watch and held up a finger. "Hold on." Thea gasped silently as the sun flared and turned red. She knew where this was going somehow. "This is the day the Sun expands. Welcome to the end of the world." Thea broke the quiet moment by stating sarcastically, "Always knew I'd be one of those old grandmothers who refused to die before anyone else."

A robotic voice started over the speakers; "Shuttles five and six now docking. Guests are reminded that Platform One forbids the use of weapons, teleportation and religion. Earth Death is scheduled for fifteen thirty nine. Followed by drinks in the Manchester Suite." The Doctor led Rose and Thea along a corridor. Rose asked curiously, "So, when it says guests, does that mean people?" "Depends on what you mean by people." Thea was absently holding the Doctor's hand again as she took in the futuristic craftsmanship of the corridor, so only Rose noted the ridiculous grin that the Doctor was sporting as they walked. "I mean people. What do you mean?" He smirked. "Aliens." Pulling herself back to the conversation, Thea asked, "What are they doing on board this spaceship? What's it all for?" He turned to her and replied, "It's not really a spaceship, more like an observation deck. The great and the good are gathering to watch the planet burn." They paused so the Doctor could sonic one of the wall panels. The door opened and they sauntered through. Thea swung their entwined hands and retorted, "I don't know much about alien hierarchy but it seems to me as if not many would get to see something like this. Wouldn't you need to be rich?" The Doctor nearly froze as her intellect shone behind her eyes. Although he hadn't known her for very long, he had gotten the impression that she preferred to hang back and crack witticisms, letting Rose to ask the questions for her. Now he could see that she was smarter than she let anyone believe. "That's right. The rich all pay millions in order to watch Earth burn." Rose asked softly, "What for?" "Fun." He replied shortly.

They reached what looked to be an observation deck, with few display cases and a stunning view of space before them. Rose frowned as she came to another conclusion, "But, hold on. They did this once on Newsround Extra. The sun expanding, that takes hundreds of years." The Doctor pointed as he explained, gesturing to the weird machine-y things surrounding the sun. She really needed to use better vocab when explaining things in her head. One of these days it was just going to slip out. "Millions, but the planet's now property of the National Trust. They've been keeping it preserved. See down there? Gravity satellites holding back the sun." Thea motioned as well, "The planet looks the same as ever. I thought the continents shifted and things." He nodded and stated, "They did, and the Trust shifted them back. That's a classic Earth. But now the money's run out, nature takes over." Thea and Rose shifted closer as the sun flared again, the light dancing in a hypnotic but deadly dance around the earth. "How long's it got?" Thea linked arms with her friend, sensing that the enormity of where they were hadn't hit her yet. She studied the patterns of the sun flickering and asked, "Around half an hour right?" The Doctor nodded in conformation. "Is that why we're here? I mean, is that what you do? Jump in at the last minute and save the Earth?" Rose stared at the Doctor desperation shining in her eyes.

Thea tugged herself free of Rose and the Doctor's grip and moved closer to the glass, palms nearly pressing against the glass. She had wanted to run away from her problems, and she was so far away. Far away from the doctors (the normal kind, not the ones with leather jackets and time machines) and her mother. She had already run further than she ever had before, but this could only be the beginning. Thea's thoughts were interrupted when a blue dude (seriously she knew there were aliens and all, but blue? He looked like a smurf!) marched in, saw them and rudely asked, "Who the hell are you?" She stiffened and narrowed her eyes at him slightly. The Doctor, oblivious in a way that she was beginning to think was natural to him, complained, "Oh, that's nice, thanks." The deranged smurf (he earned that title) continued pissing her off, "But how did you get in? This is a maximum hospitality zone. The guests have disembarked. They're on their way any second now." Rose whistled slightly when Thea moved in, her face suddenly as dark as a storm. "Excuse you, how do you know we're not guests you bloody-" The Doctor swooped in, protecting the alien from the dark woman's rage, carrying some kind of wallet. "That's me. I'm a guest. Look, I've got an invitation. Look. There, you see? It's fine, you see? The Doctor plus two. I'm the Doctor, this is Thea Faye and Rose Tyler. They're my plus two. Is that all right?" He flashed the wallet at the blue man (why was the paper blank?) before slipping it back in his pocket. The Smurf's golden slitted eyes widened with panic for a second before he slipped into host mode, "Well, obviously. Apologies, et cetera. If you're on board, we'd better start. Enjoy."

"The paper's slightly psychic. It shows them whatever I want them to see. Saves a lot of time." They weren't listening. Rose had to subtly hold Thea back from clobbering the steward and the girls had a quick tussle which ended with the Doctor plucking Thea up into his arms and striding forward, leaving Rose to follow. Thea froze when she felt him close and stared up at him silently with silver eyes. The same electricity from before made it almost impossible to move away. Not because it hurt but because it didn't. In the back of her mind She sighed softly, almost as it She was enjoying it as much as Thea was. The Doctor then seemed to realise how very close he had pulled her and she watched his blue eyes flash darker before he put her down sheepishly. Not that she cared or anything. Nope, not caring was her specialty. Rose was smirking now, bad sign. "He's blue." Thea looked away awkwardly as they followed the smurf. "Very astute Flower." Rose flicked her, murmuring, "Okay." They arrived in a larger room with a large glass panel to show the earth. The smurf announced, "We have in attendance the Doctor, Thea Faye and Rose Tyler. Thank you. All staff to their positions." More little blue people appeared and Thea forgot her embarrassment to bounce a bit and murmur to Rose, "They are so cute! Like little smurfs!" The Doctor snorted loudly and Thea flashed him a grin.

The alpha smurf continued, "Hurry, now, thank you. Quick as we can. Come along, come along. And now, might I introduce the next honoured guest? Representing the Forest of Cheam, we have trees, namely, Jabe, Lute and Coffa." Rose and Thea stared as humanoid tree people strode in, looking important in their own fancy bark-y way. (Seriously, she really had to stop.) "There will be an exchange of gifts representing peace. If you could keep the room circulating, thank you. Next, from the solicitors Jolco and Jolco, we have the Moxx of Balhoon." Thea was grinning brightly, eyes almost glowing as she took in the aliens who entered. "And next, from Financial Family Seven, we have the Adherents of the Repeated Meme." A group of black cloaked bipeds floated in, mingling with the crowd. Thea began to tune out the announcements until she noticed the tree people strolling towards them. "The Gift of Peace. I bring you a cutting of my Grandfather." The Doctor took the plant gently before handing it to Rose. Thea spoke before the Doctor could reply however, eyes fixed on Jabe. "Thank you. I give you in return, air from my lungs." Thea breathed gently in the tree lady's face, not taking any notice of her companions shocked faces. Jabe smirked slightly and replied in a breathless voice, "How… intimate." Thea smirked as well, "There's more where that came from." Jabe laughed, "I bet there is." The tree people strolled away and Thea turned to her shocked friends. Rose spoke first. "Really? Must you flirt with the tree?" Thea grinned and linked arms with them both, the Doctor smiling with her. "Flower, how could I not flirt with the tree lady? A chance like this doesn't come along twice."

The alpha smurf once again announced another guest, "From the Silver Devastation, the sponsor of the main event, please welcome the Face of Boe." A giant floating head was rolled in and Thea began bouncing again. "It's a head; it's a bloody big head!" Rose bit back a laugh at her hyper friend (she got hyper when she was excited) as she attempted to stay still. (She was still twitching a bit though.) The Moxx of Balhoon floated over, "My felicitations on this historical happenstance. I give you the gift of bodily saliva's." He then proceeded to spit in Rose's eye. Thea let out a bark of laughter after he left (she breathed on him as well; she was beginning to feel rather popular). The black cloaked dudes were next and after she breathed on them as well (honestly she was running out of breath now) and they handed the Doctor a metal sphere thing. "And last but not least, our very special guest. Ladies and gentlemen, and trees and multiforms, consider the Earth below. In memory of this dying world, we call forth the last Human. The Lady Cassandra O'Brien Dot Delta Seventeen." Thea's mouth dropped open as a rectangular sheet of skin with lipstick and eyes was rolled in by 2 men in white hospital garments. "A trampoline. The last human, is a trampoline!" The amusement was written all over her face now, it was clear she was having the time of her life. "Oh, now, don't stare. I know, I know it's shocking, isn't it? I've had my chin completely taken away and look at the difference. Look how thin I am. Thin and dainty. I don't look a day over two thousand. Moisturise me. Moisturise me." The men sprayed her down and when Rose glanced over at Thea she saw the giant shit eating grin had brightened her face once more. "Truly, I am the last Human. My father was a Texan; my mother was from the Arctic Desert. They were born on the Earth and were the last to be buried in its soil. I have come to honour them and say goodbye. Oh, no tears, no tears. I'm sorry. But behold, I bring gifts. From Earth itself, the last remaining ostrich egg. Legend says it had a wingspan of fifty feet and blew fire from its nostrils. Or was that my third husband? Oh, no. Oh, don't laugh. I'll get laughter lines. And here, another rarity." Rose had wandered behind Cassandra to see how thin she was. Thea waved to her on the other side. The smurfs wheeled in a jukebox and Cassandra continued, "According to the archives, this was called an iPod. It stores classical music from humanity's greatest composers. Play on!" Tainted Love played from the jukebox and Thea giggled as the Doctor began dancing slightly, joining in happily.

Rose shook her head as she took in the aliens aboard the ship and her best friend laughing with the Doctor, and she ran out. Thea rushed to follow her when Jabe called out, "Doctor, Thea." She held a sort of device at them and it flashed. Thea, used to being photo bombed by paparazzi (although the tree was new), just kept going, the Doctor's hand once again clasped in her own.

.

On their way to find Rose they came across the smurfs moving the TARDIS. Thea looked at the Doctor and he called out, "Oi, now, careful with that. Park it properly. No scratches." She watched him while he was distracted with the smurfs. This alien who had strolled past her walls like they paper thin, holding her hand, laughing with her. It had been so long since she had met someone where things were just… easy. Natural. Thea didn't smile as she watched him, but she wanted to laugh at how they had only met a few hours before. She had another friend. And she liked it. The Doctor turned back to her, breaking the spell. He grinned, "Let's go find our wayward companion shall we?" She finally gave him a small smile, "We shall." Neither mentioned how he had caught her staring at him. They just grinned at each other as they walked down the corridor.

Thea slumped on the wall and declared, "If she isn't in here then I'm gonna kill her. As much fun as jogging in this dress is, it is actually more corset-y than comfortable." He smirked at her, "Corset-y?" She rolled her eyes at him, "I hate you." He gave her one of those smiles that only shone through his eyes. "No you don't." He opened the door (he found it beyond amusing that Thea had trouble figuring out how to do it herself earlier) and they saw Rose sitting on some stairs, the sampling next to her. Thea billowed in, all graceful and flouncy and declared, "Oh I was so worried!" But instead of going to hug Rose, she scooped up the plant next to her and began to coo at it. "Silly baby tree, running off like that. Scared me half to death!" Thea cast a glance at Rose and noticed with a hint worry that she wasn't amused at her antics like usual. Thea plopped herself next to Rose, offering her silent support for whatever drama that had her brooding. The Doctor followed after her saying, "Aye, aye. What do you think, then?" Rose looked up and there was a mutinous look in her brown eyes that had Thea moving from her seat to look at the view, hiding the worry on her face. "Great. Yeah, fine. Once you get past the slightly psychic paper. They're just so alien. The aliens are so alien. You look at 'em and they're alien." The Doctor shifted uncomfortably at being faced with the silent rage. "Good thing I didn't take you to the Deep South." Rose glared at him and stood up. "Where are you from?" Thea turned now, a warning on her face. Rose was pushing him, and if she knew her friend, she knew that Rose wouldn't stop until she got a reaction. "All over the place." Rose changed direction slightly, "They all speak English." Thea turned to the Doctor as well, curious. "No, you just hear English. It's a gift of the TARDIS. The telepathic field, gets inside your brain and translates."

Thea's face froze and she whirled around again, turning her back on damage control. Now she was angry as well. As long as she could remember, someone else had been rattling around in her head and now there was a time machine in there to join Her. Why can't I just catch a break? Rose saw Thea's expression for a flash before she had turned. Hurt had shone from her eyes. Filled with more rage for her now silent friend, Rose spat, "It's inside our brain?" The Doctor had realised from the still form of Thea and Rose's angry expression that they weren't impressed by this development. "Well, in a good way." Rose stalked closer, "Your machine gets inside our head. It gets inside and it changes our minds, and you didn't even ask?" The Doctor was staring at Thea now. Thea had been bouncing merely minutes ago but now she just stood staring at the view, hands clasped behind her back silently. Almost too still now. He had upset her. "I didn't think about it like that." The words were apologetic and were aimed mostly at Thea. She turned her head slightly towards him, listening. Rose pushed more, "No, you were too busy thinking up cheap shots about the Deep South. Who are you, then, Doctor? What are you called? What sort of alien are you?" He was getting angry now as well. "I'm just the Doctor." She pushed even more, "From what planet?" He turned away from Thea so she wouldn't assume the anger was aimed at her and exclaimed, "Well, it's not as if you'll know where it is!" Thea was watching them now, still silent but the hurt had faded slightly. "Where are you from?" He was close to the breaking point now, "What does it matter?" She yelled, "Tell me who you are!" The Doctor didn't notice when Thea turned around fully, watching the argument she hadn't prevented. She wasn't as mad as tired now. He was an alien, and he understood why they were upset. So she could forgive him. But Rose wouldn't. "This is who I am, right here, right now, all right? All that counts is here and now, and this is me." He whirled around to Thea and saw her offer her hand in quiet support.

It had been a while since she had comforted someone other than Rose, and it was a strange experience to grasp someone's hand so tightly, as if by holding on to someone the burden wouldn't be so heavy. To be honest it was making her feel better as well. "Earth Death in twenty minutes. Earth Death in twenty minutes." Rose calmed once she saw Thea take the Doctor's hand. If Thea could forgive the daft alien then so could she. "All right. As my mate Shareen says, don't argue with the designated driver." Thea giggled softly and said, "Smartest thing the daft cow ever said." Rose stuck her tongue out at Thea as she took out her mobile. "Can't exactly call for a taxi. There's no signal. We're out of range. Just a bit." The Doctor looked at Thea for a split second before pulling her along and taking Rose's phone, "Tell you what." He pulled the phone apart a bit before continuing, "With a little bit of jiggery pokery-" Thea laughed and asked, "Is that a technical term, jiggery pokery?" He smirked at her finishing with Rose's phone and tossing it to her, holding out a hand for Thea's phone. She rooted it out of her bag and gave it to him, not even asking why he wanted it. "Yeah, I came first in jiggery pokery. What about you?" Her eyes shone as she shook her head playfully, "No, I failed hullabaloo." He laughed (victory!) and passed her phone back. "Oh. There you go." Rose called Jackie while Thea's started ringing on its own. She shrugged and answered it in her usual fashion. "Salve?" A chillingly familiar voice chuckled coldly on the other line. She stiffened slightly and said in an almost formal tone, "Hello Mother. Why have you called me?" 'Mother' didn't reply but instead asked, "Why aren't you at home?" Thea answered almost immediately, lying perfectly, "I'm out with friends, may not be home until tomorrow." Rose hung up on Jackie and cast her a worried look. Thea looked away. "Where are you Anthea Faye?" Thea nearly flinched at the use of her full first name and turned around to stare at the sun again, trying not to cower too much. Full name meant anger. Her 'Mother' was angry at her. "On top of the world." The other line paused for a second before stating, "You will call me when you return. You're due for a visit." She replied softly, "Yes Mother." The call ended itself and Thea found herself on the other end of 2 very concerned looks. "I'm fine."

Before they could reply (or worse, question her) the floor shook, making Thea fall over onto the Doctor. "Bloody hell, I take that wasn't meant to happen?" The Doctor let her change the subject and replied "Nope!" Thea tugged on both their hands not noticing the look that they exchanged over her head. The subject wasn't over yet and they all knew it.

Authors Note;

Sorry again for the wait guys, but due to life and lack of reviews (except for one that I treasure) I wasn't feeling very motivated. Anyhow, let me know what you think and if you have any requests for what you want to happen, send it to me! (Cause you know, it's not like I'm being bombarded with comments at the moment….)
