Chapter IV: Interlude

From the wreckage of a planet whose name had long been forgotten, Fabricator Locum Scarandir inspected the remnants of a battle rifle. Shaking his head, he walked back to his transport, cursing all the while.

Back onboard his private transport, he sent a message to Mars explaining what he had found:

TO: Fabricator General Tontian Coranth

FROM: Fabricator Locum Phillandros Scarandir

CC: Magos Jonathanius Ivorius, Magos Cragi Finderlesie, Magos Dontian Riggi

It has come to the attention of the Omnissiah and his servants that those who perpetrate the most foul and perverted technological heresies are indeed still at large. Unfortunately, very little can be done to combat the spread of that profane company's products. It is the opinion of this Fabricator that all-out war must soon be waged against the daemons of Libertas Prime. For starters, the Mechanicus can begin by filing suit against Governor Standig for finally violating his charter. Rest assured our allies amongst Terra will have absolutely no problem finding Governor Standig guilty as charged. Next, we must take steps to offload our Imperial Credits to various other projects in faraway places to fund our research and development costs for the future.

The future looks strong, despite whatever drivel Standig and Heyward throw our way.

Praise forevermore to the Omnissiah.

With that little communique out of the way, Scarandir thought to the amazing successes the company had. The Mark VII Power Armor. The Mark VI Power Armor. The Leman Russ Battle Tank. Ah, the wonderful memories. But they were for naught if more Standard Template Constructs could not be finally realized. No matter, though, he thought with a pleasant buzz of binary. The Mechanicus was never short of ways to maintain its importance in the Imperium.
