Max POV
I heard a phone ring throughout the apartment I had.
I grabbed the wireless phone off of the counter. "This is Max," I said, thinking it would be the pizza I ordered.
"Max, it's Nudge." I gasped. "Nudge! How are you?!" I cried. "More importantly, how did you get this number, Nudge?" I asked her suspiciously. "Well, it's kind of a long story...but I work in the government and with the Avengers and Pepper Potts was actually Angel and then an Eraser came and tranquilized Angel and now we need to find her before they do stuff to her we really need to help her Max imagine if Gazzy knew is Fang there?"
She said all of this totally fast and in a Nudge-like fashion. I sighed. Then I said, "What?! I thought Erasers were retired? And no, Fang isn't here. So...what do we do now? Are all of the Avengers going to help find her?"
"Umm...well, I think they are going to help..." Nudge said slowly, as if she hadn't thought of it. "What do you mean, I THINK?!" I cried. The doorbell rang. I looked at the peephole to make sure it was the pizza guy as Nudge spoke.
"Well I kind of passed out and then I woke up and I grabbed somoene's phone to call you," she sheepishly said. "And how did you even get this number?" I asked, scowling.
"I work with the government. Look, Max, please come and help. Maybe you can get the rest of the Flock for us?"
I sighed again. "Actually, can you call Fang and Iggy? I'll get Gazzy while you do that," I responded.
Nudge said, "You really haven't spoken to him since the Flock broke apart?"
I scowled again at her questions. "No. Am I leader again?"
Nudge said, "Well, I did call YOU first, right?"
And for the first time since she called, I smiled.
So after I put the phone back down, I went to the door, gave the pizza guy money as I took the pizza and ran to my room to get ready. I stretched my wings and made sure I could fly still, by jumping off a tree), and grabbed a few necessities for flying.
I then grabbed the phone and called Nudge again. She picked up on the first ring. "Yeah, Max?"
"What's Gazzy's number?" I asked sheepishly.
Gazzy POV
I was cooking up a spicy dinner when the phone rang. I ran over to it and held the phone to my ear. "Yes?" I asked.
"Gazzy?" A familiar female voice asked, one I couldn't place. Thanks to Max's training, I instantly went over all of the exits in my small, cluttered apartment.
"Who is this?" I asked, not allowing fear to fill my voice. An irritated sigh came down the line. "It's Max, dummy."
I said, "Ask me something only I know." "Didn't I stick up for you when we lived at Annie's and went to that crazy school and you and Iggy were blamed for making a smoke bomb?" she asked. I grinned.
"Hey, Max, what's up?" I asked casually.
"Nudge called me, Gazzy. Angel's missing."
