Amber's POV

It was 5:45 PM when I arrived at the restaurant. As I walked in, there were two familiar faces caught my eyes. My fingers curled into fists. Minah and Minho sat across from each other and were speaking quite intensely if Minho's tight expression was anything to guess by. Minho sunk back into the leather seat. I imagined Minah giving him a seductive look. My fingers clenched the glass filled with wine and it shattered. Blood starting to pool out from the center of my palm. However, the painful squeeze of my heart numbed the pain that sprouted from my palm. How dare she break my heart like this?

That's it Choi Minho! You messed with my emotions, so I'm going to mess with yours.

For all the heartache and pain you've caused me, Minah. Your son will never see daylight ever again. I gritted my teeth and my eyes glowered at Minah and Minho who were now having an argument. Minah jumped up and trudged out of the restaurant, with Minho closely rushing after her.

If you ever see Minho again, Minah. You will pay. I looked up and realized that everyone's eyes were now on me. It dawned on me that since I had broken the wine glass, I now had to pay for it. Oops…

After I cleaned up and paid everything, I walked to the parking lot and thoughts swirled in my mind. Since my grandmother was an herbalist, I had learned how to create a certain type of fatal poison early on.

My plan was set. I had to kill Choi Minho.

As I drove home in my 2012 Ford Mustang, I continued to think about how Minah, Minho, and Minsoo would suffer. I had talk to the Emperor of Naje, Minho's father, about my plan.

A few hours later, the poison was done. I called it Luxoln because it can kill a person faster and then die sooner than any drug, toxin, or poison in the land. This was perfect.

Grabbing a sword from the weaponry room, I spread the poison on the blade as I gripped the handle. Once the last drops of poison was on the blade, I placed the sword back in its scabbard and went back to my room, placing the sword right next to my bed.

I chuckled darkly as a smirk formed across my face. You will die, Choi Minho.

Minah's POV

As I gazed deep into Minho's eyes, a thought caught me off guard. Could he be the real Kim Sooho? The infamous Hwarang warrior from the Silla Dynasty that fought in battles with ancient China and sealed the dark force that wreaked havoc upon the entire kingdom?

My mind went room began to spin and my vision clouded over. I shook my head to clear my head unsuccessfully. I turned to Minho once more, who in return, gave me a confused look.

"Hey. Are you okay? What's wrong?" he asked with worry in his eyes. But,I drowned out his voice as the darkness consumed me.

535 AD

The warm sun danced through the cherry blossom trees as I found myself underneath it while I waited for Kim Sooho to return from his mission from Baekje. He left about a month ago following King Jinheung's report of the innocent fairies who had crossed the border to return back to their fairy kingdom, Aeline. Queen Jiso's name had been among the casualty list.

Aeline was a beautiful and gorgeous fairy kingdom far from Hanguk to the west of Asia in a country called Éire. The fairies had come all the way to Hanguk because they claimed that Prince Chang of Baekje had captured children fairies and their mothers to use them as servants. King Jinheung ordered the release of the fairies under the threat that he would have to remove them by force if they did not comply.

And so, Prince Chang release them and the fairies were now residing in the royal palace, possibly eating and trying to get their wings startup for their journey across the fairy path back to Éire.

"Sonata! My love! I've missed you!"

I turned around and I gasped as I noticed Sooho on his horse, giving off his famous smile. Tears welled up my eyes as Sooho jumped off his horse and spread out his arms. I ran over and wrapped my arms around him tightly. He lifted me off the ground and spun me around with laughter.

"I was so worried! I thought something bad happened to you," I said while we pulled away from each other.

Sooho smiled and contemplated at me. His warm brown eyes met mine causing me to blush. He reached up and gently and pushed a strand of my hair back. My heart fluttered in my chest and I looked down shyly, fiddling with my fingers. Sooho leaned in and brought his lips down to meet mine. Our lips passionately moved against each other as we whispered sweet nothings in between. I wrapped my arms around his waist and he wrapped his around mine.

Sooho's tongue swirled in my mouth begging for entrance and pushed in deeply when I let him.. He explored every inch of my mouth and I smiled in the kiss. Finally, we both pulled away, panting.

I looked up at Sooho with a warm smile, but my smile faded when I remembered why I came to see him. I took a deep breath and looked down once again. "It's getting too dangerous for me to sneak out. I almost got caught by Jinheung's men," I said.

Sooho growled and pulled me closer. "Yeah. Same for me too. I can't stand Jinheung's watchful eyes. He will figure out our secret sooner or later. But don't worry. I will always love you," Sooho said as he looked at me and kissed my forehead.

Grabbing Sooho's hand, we both walked to his horse and he helped me up. He then got on after me. I relaxed against his warm chest, trying to forget the threats of our superiors. I held the reins and led the horse back to the stables. Sooho pulled out a black mask from the fold of his hanbok and tied it around my head.

"What are you doing?" I asked after Sooho was finished. The fabric was making me hard to speak because I wasn't so used to wearing heavy pieces of clothing material. He smiled at me.

"So people won't know it's you, Sonata," Sooho said and gave me a kiss on the cheek and I blushed.

Little did we know, Banryu was watching us from afar.

Sooho's POV

After Sonata went home that evening, I visited the horse stables to feed the horses when I heard someone come in. I looked up and noticed Banryu standing right before me, giving me a dangerous look.

"I saw you with that mermaid. Covering her up isn't going to fool me," Banryu snarled.

I glowered at him as I put the pile of hay in the stack next to the stables. "That mermaid has nothing to do with you," I growled.

"Like I care about that fish," he scoffed, "You're not supposed to be with her!"

I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth. I stepped closer but Banryu's face remained emotionless. Breathing heavily, I grabbed him by his collar and pulled him close to me while he continued to give me an unfazed expression.

"Listen you bastard. Don't you ever mention this to Jinheung. If you do, I swear that you will never live to see sunlight again," I threatened. Banryu looked straight into my eyes and he backed down, putting his hands up in defense.

I let go of him as we both glared at each other a few minutes more. Having enough, we both walked out of the horse stables.

We really didn't say anything else while we walked towards the Hwarang House and into our rooms. We continued to ignore each other and climbed into our respective beds.

Pulling the covers over me, I looked out of the window and sighed heavily as my thoughts took over my consciousness. I hoped Sonata was okay. With a sigh, my eyes traveled up at the ceiling. I counted the nails on the wooden boards, trying my best to fall asleep. God...I missed Sonata so much. What was she doing? Was she okay? Who was she with?

I bit my lip as questions roamed in my mind. I couldn't sleep or eat these past few days because Sonata consumed me everyday. Her beautiful, lilting voice and her kind heart made me fall in love with her every day. I didn't care about the consequences. I only wanted her.

The next morning, by King Jinheung's request, I visited him in the main hall. I was dressed in a red and black hanbok with my hair up as always and my sword slung across my back.

Jinheung sat on his throne and faced me sternly. I didn't know what was wrong with him, but I hoped and prayed to the gods that Banryu hadn't told my secret. The king cleared his throat and I looked at him bravely.

"Sooho, there are rumors going around about you spending more time with a mermaid princess. Is that true?" he cooly asked. My body froze and shivers traveled up my spine. My heartbeat thumped faster and my breathing quickened.

Taking a deep breath, I decided to confess everything to him. "Yes. The rumors are true. I have been seeing her more than once," I admitted. Jinheung said nothing and stood up from his throne. He walked up towards me and his gaze forced me to confront him.

The next words that came out of his mouth sliced through my heart like an icy stake. They were words that never left my heart for the rest of my life.

"You are forbidden from seeing her, Sooho. You know the consequences if you disobey this order."

With that, he stormed out of the hall, his hanbok billowing behind him in angry red waves. Left alone with my thought. My heart shattered into a million pieces as Jinheung's sunk in. I no longer had a choice. I was planning to run away with her anyway.

Present Day

Minah's POV

"Wait…so in your past life, you and Minho AKA Sooho were planning to run away to Nippon?" Yoona asked. We were both standing in front of her locker, conversing about the dream I had last night.

"Well...yes. We were planning to run away and change our names so no one would recognize us. We planned to live quietly in the mountains ut our plans were ruined when Jinheung caught us trying to escape Hanguk on a boat. He was furious with Sooho's betrayal and left us."

"So what happened after Jinheung left?"

I sighed while trying to recall the bits of memory I had from the past. My visions were blurry and it was difficult to explain them.

"I don't know, Yoona. I'll tell you when I can remember it," I said as I placed a hand on my forehead.

While we chatted, I looked up and I saw Amber walking towards us. I rolled my eyes and Yoona gave Amber a cold look as she stepped in front of us.

"What are you doing, Amber?" Yoona icily asks, clenching her fists.

"The other day, I saw her kissing Minho at the restaurant. She dared to see a man behind my back." Amber accused, crossing her arms.

"Amber...I don't even know what you're talking about," I said as I tried to avoid her fiery gaze.

Yoona continued to glare at Amber and defended me. "She didn't even kiss him! They were only talking!" Yoona snapped.

Amber scoffed and rolled her eyes giving me a frosty sneer. I fearfully hid behind Yoona and she gave me a reassuring smile before facing Amber.

"Just leave her alone, Amber. Go on and get out before I call the rest of Girls Generation," Yoona threatened.

With a smirk, Amber chuckled. Her eyes peered down at us with a calculated grimace. "As you wish, Yoona. I'll leave for now," Amber said as she walked off.

After Amber left, Yoona turned around and faced me. She grabbed my hands and looked into my eyes.

"You must go and be with Minho, Minah. Don't act like you hate him. As the reincarnation of Cupid's daughter I can see your heart screaming for him. I can feel it," she said seriously.

I can only nod but no words come out of my mouth. Yoona has this unique ability to predict which couples end up together, even forbidden lovers.

She pulled away and hugged me. I reciprocated and rested my head on her shoulder. When we pulled away from each other, Yoona linked her arm with mine.

"Come. Let's go to the school garden. The others are probably there."

Yoona and I walked towards the school garden, our arms still linked together. My heart warmed at Yoona's advice. Maybe she was right. I should give Minho a chance.

Who knows? Maybe one day he can meet Minsoo.

Amber's POV

After school was over, I got a call from Emperor Sung-ki. The aging Emperor didn't have much longer to live, causing the kingdom to slowly disappear. Minho was about to take the throne soon. Minsoo was his son. the Emperor didn't trust the baby because he was part of a prophecy that Sung-ki was afraid of. It was why he didn't free the mermaids.

"Hello?" I answered the call.

"Amber Liu? Is that you? Good to hear your voice again."

I silently groaned and rolled my eyes. Just like Minho, he was a bit of a talker. So without complaining, I brought up a bit of my confidence. "Yes. It has been a long time. I've called because I have something important to say. Listen, your majesty. The other day, I caught my fiance trying to kiss your son," I said.

I imagined his face turned red while I heard the sudden scratch of his teeth gritting together. He took a deep breath and sighed heavily.

"I'll deal with him later. Anyways, have you formulated a plan?"

"Yes, Your Majesty. I plan to kill him."

"K-kill my son? But...I thought you were planning to kill that mermaid princess and her half-breed son?"

I snorted and rolled my eyes. Time to change the plan. "For your sake, Your Majesty. I'll spare Minho's life since he is your precious heir and child. The only people I'll be harming are Minah and Minsoo," I stated.

"Very well. This will ensure Minah can't free her people. What are you going to do with the child?"

I swallowed and looked down awkwardly. I haven't thought much on what I can do with the boy. I formulated a hasty plan in my head.

"Okay. Since he's young and vulnerable, I'll kidnap him by using candy and take him to some remote area, far from the city were no one can't find him."

"That's a good enough plan to know, Amber. I'll tell Qi about the plan when she comes home this afternoon."

"Alright, Your Majesty. I'll keep you updated. Talk to you later."

"Good luck with your plan, Amber."

And with that, I ended up the call. A smirk slowly formed on my lips. Yes. My plan was now in motion.

Qi's POV

In the busy rush hour of Seoul International Airport, a young woman stood firmly on the ground, holding her handbag in one hand and her suitcase in the other. Her long, black hair was tied up into a high ponytail with a gold and yellow hair pin accented with a ruby. She wore red and gold armbands with yellow detailed motifs. Hermatching suede boots grounded the outfit bringing it all together. Her lips were adorned with a bold red lipstick that was accentuated by her gold studded earrings.

Her expression was rather serious as she glanced around the airport presumably looking for someone or something. Just then, her phone rang. The girl grabbed it from her purse and realized that it was the Emperor calling her. She swiped up and answered it.

"Hello, Qi. Have you made it home?" Emperor Sung-ki asked.

"Yes, Father. I'm home. Where's Minho?" Qi asked stoically.

"He should be coming to pick you up, Qi. I already texted him a few minutes ago to remind him. He should be coming. Anyways, Amber called."

Qi's eyes widened. "Oh? What's going on with her?"

"She has told me about her plan. I did not want her to harm Minho, so she decided to spare his and Minsoo are her main targets."

"Oh, okay. Sounds like a good plan. I'll talk to you later when I get home. See you soon, Father."

"Bye, Qi."

With that, Qi hung up and a smirk formed across her face. She would become ruler. It was quite regretful that Sung-ki had spared Minho's life.

How dare he sleep with a mermaid princess! She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. He would be slaughtered along with that brat of his and Minah.

"You will pay, Choi Minho," she vowed quietly and waited patiently for Minho.
