Misao was out alone enjoying the summer sun and trying to think about her memories, but they hadn't returned yet and it made her head hurt if she tried too hard. She was wearing a red V front halter neck summer dress that reached her knees. She was also wearing a pair of black pumps on her feet and red earrings. Her hair was styled into a bun with a red bow at the back of her head.
After being cooped up for so long and the stresses she had experienced, she needed some fresh air to just breathe. She had felt so suffocated lately and smothered by her tentative mother, panicking father and her supposed overprotective boyfriend. She just couldn't handle it all, it was starting to feel more panicked instead of calm.
She just couldn't come to terms with the fact she was in a relationship with her teacher, that he was a demon and he was the father of her child. She was only 17 and already everything was happening so fast in her life. She just couldn't take it, it didn't seem real like she was living someone else's life. But if it was all so important, why would she forget it.
"Hey Misao you out alone today" A familiar voice said from behind her. She had matured so much since he had last spoken to her, though he doubted she would remember him. He only had one eye now and his hair was longer, but inside he was still the same person she remembered, even if she had chosen his brother over him
Misao turned to see a man who resembled Kyo but looked much older and had long black hair past his shoulders. He was wearing a Black shirt and jacket and matching trousers and pointed shoes. He felt so familiar yet she had never met this man in her life "Who...Who are you?" Misao said curiously.
Sho was stunned at this usually Misao would recognize him in a heartbeat which both angered and worried him so he sat next to her slowly. Just what had Kyo done this time to drive him our of her life. "Misao it's me, Shou. I'm Kyo's older brother don't you recognize me?" he asked concerned. She wasn't acting like herself at all.
Misao went quiet for a while and became thoughtful then gasped. How could she have forgotten him? She felt like such an ass, he was her childhood friend after all. "Oh Shou-chan it's you, sorry I've had a hard time remembering stuff since the accident" Misao said apologetically. She had been slowly remembering but not quite everything yet.
Sho's heart nearly stopped, why had he not known about this? Had the village been told about this? She was precious to his clan as the Senka maiden after all. "What accident?!" he said grabbing her shoulders. He knew something was wrong, she wasn't acting like herself at all. Her guard had been down and everything.
Misao sighed heavily, since he was Kyo's brother making her his sister-in-law. She couldn't not tell him what happened but it was a scary experience for her. The fact that large parts of her life were lost to her was bad enough. There were days she would be doing something normal and not even remember things.
"You were hit by a car and lost your memory?!" Sho cried his face filled with fear and concern. Why hadn't Kyo protected her? Wasn't that his job as his role as the head of their clan. She was his responsibility, yet he let her get hit and caused her to develop amnesia and lose memories of half her life. She didn't even act like herself.
She was lucky to even be alive, how badly was she hurt, did she have any scars? Had the driver been punished? Had it been a demon? There were so many questions rushing through his mind. She seemed like a shell of herself, but he was glad she was ok. Making this moment with her even more precious, knowing he could have lost her.
"Yes but I can remember most things, just my past with Kyo. I guess I forgot you too since you and Kyo are related I'm sorry" she explained then apologized at the last part. Though she knew it wasn't her fault, she felt like she had insulted him in some way without meaning to. He had seemed so happy to see her after all.
Sho gazed at her silently. She looked ok now, but the thought of what state she must have been in after the accident. The very idea scared him to death and he didn't want to think about it but he couldn't stop. So many scenario's rushing through his mind causing a sickening feeling to wash through him.
"She was HIT by a car and I NEVER knew let alone was even told by Grandfather or KYO". Were they that convinced after his actions at the village would lead him to hurt her again? He knew he had caused her suffering and he felt guilt for that. But he was a warped person because of what they had done to him.
"How dare he keep me in the dark about this. He knew I loved Misao and most likely wanted me to be forgotten so he could have her all to himself". I mean he had pushed him from the position of leader so he could take it and make Misao his bride. He was sly and conniving, making sure he controlled the clan for himself.
Misao peered at Sho worriedly, he had dazed out for a while causing her some concern "Sho are you ok?" she asked. Suddenly, Sho pulled her close and held her tightly shocking her "Sho-Chan what are you..." she said worriedly. Had she done something wrong? Maybe she shouldn't have said anything to him after all.
"It must be scary to be trapped in a world you can't remember and want so badly to remember...I'm so sorry Misao" he said his voice cracking as he fought tears. Her memories trapped in her own mind, lingering and yet unable to be freed. Like a bird trapped within a cage, with the key nearby and yet out of her reach.
Misao was stunned she never expected him to act this way, but had he always been like this she could barely remember his past behaviour after all. All she knew was he was obviously someone dear to her and cared about her deeply. So she hesitantly accepted the hug, softening into his embrace comfortably.
Unknown to them Kyo was watching from behind a corner out of sight. He was furious at how close they were getting, but at the same time knew that Sho was a large part of Misao's life and memories. As much as it hurt, he was a necessary tool to awaken the one's she had lost.
"Damn him hugging my bride. That sneaky bastard he's probably trying to confuse her into loving him again...but she looks so happy". He had never been so conflicted in his entire life. His bride was being seduced by his brother, the same one that had kidnapped her and held her prisoner against her will.
Sho pulled away from Misao and cupped her face in his hands smiling fondly "You were always so cute Misao" he said fondly a gentle smile on his face. Even though she was so much bigger now, he would always see her as the cute little girl he knew as a kid. The same one who cried and ran to him when she was unhappy.
Misao blushed, she had never been complimented like this before. At least she didn't remember someone that wasn't her dad complimenting her. "Sho-Chan" she said shyly unsure of how to answer. She felt happy and yet not uncomfortable, enjoying being held by this guy. He was so gentle and tender, yet at the same time distant.
Sho leaned forward and kissed Misao, taking her by surprise and angering a hidden Kyo. But Sho didn't care about the consequences in that moment, he wasn't going to deny his own feelings. He cupped her cheek with his left hand gently wanting to enjoy the moment. How he had longed to savour the taste of her lips like this for so long.
Kyo was surrounded by a dark aura of rage, hatred and jealousy as he saw his bride kissing his brother "That bastard" he muttered angrily. He knew that Sho would use this to get close to her, using Misao's vulnerable state to get what he wanted. Manipulating her when she was confused and fragile, did he know no limits to his actions.
Misao herself was taken aback by the kiss but didn't reject him as she was secretly enjoying it. Slowly she grabbed his shirt tightly with her hands and returned it passionately. Suddenly, her mind hurt and she saw new memories opening in her mind and realized what he was doing but didn't pull away.
Shou had been kind to her when Kyo acted cold and stubborn, always playing with her and always sweet to her. Showing just how precious she was to him, though she tried to befriend both of the boys. He had been her childhood admirer, so how could she have forgotten that. So why should she not show her feelings for him? He did love her after all.
Kyo left angrily as he was sick of seeing Misao lock lips with his brother. He would just punish her about it that evening for cheating on him with his brother. She was his bride and she had chosen him, but she didn't remember that well enough clearly. "Beware of a Tengu's rage Misao" he chuckled to himself.
Sho pulled away from Misao slowly his face gentle and loving "Misao do you remember anything?" he asked kindly. Hopefully, with that kiss he would have shared his memories with her thus allowing her to make new ones. Anything that would help her recover from the amnesia she was currently battling against.
Misao nodded slowly, still shaking a little "Yes I can vaguely remember you, me and Kyo playing together as children and you and me were fond of each other" she said smiling sweetly. She had no idea that someone else other than Kyo had held such strong romantic feelings, how sweet. But why had he never told her this?
Sho gazed at Misao, somehow her newfound innocence made her even more beautiful. "You were always precious to me Misao and don't let Kyo tell you any different" Sho said sternly. She should use her amnesia to make decisions for herself instead of always relying on Kyo, she needed to find her inner strength during this time.
Misao looked down at her lap shyly her face red "S...Sho-Chan" she said quietly. Everything was happening so fast and she didn't know what to do. First she had been told she was in a relationship with her teacher/childhood friend and carrying his baby. Now she was learning that his brother had feelings for her too?
However, she had certainly not hated being kissed by Shou, in fact she had very much enjoyed it. Something about him touching her felt so right and she didn't want to stop. Her body seeking his warmth and affection more and more, like she was becoming addicted to him. Unable to stop wanting more of him.
Sho smiled kindly at her, his expression gentle "Yes what is it?" he asked stroking her head. This was the most fragile he had ever seen her and yet also the most beautiful. She was like a completely different woman altogether, he had no idea of how to tell her this. Afraid of how she would react to him telling her this.
Misao looked at him bravely "K...Kiss me again" she said. She knew she was betraying Kyo, but at the same time she didn't feel a connection with him. If she had truly loved him then why did she feel so distant from him? She was so confused and yet right now all she wanted was Sho and more of his affection.
Sho was taken aback but pulled her close and kissed her deeply wrapping his arms around her back "Misao I love you" He thought to himself. He finally had her in his grasp and he would never let her go. Now was his chance to do over and make sure he loved Misao the right way, making sure nothing happened to her.
Misao wrapped her arms around Sho's back tightly and returned his kiss passionately "Sho-Chan you make me feel safe" she thought to herself.
Misao walked through Kyo's front gate into his garden "What a day" she sighed heavily. So much had happened, that kiss, meeting Sho and regaining her memories. It had been such an exciting experience. She had felt like she was in one of those romance novels. She had never thought love could be as exciting in real life.
"Misao you took a long time getting here" Kyo said sharply appearing from the shadows. Had she enjoyed speaking and making out with his brother, the same one who had tried to keep them apart. The one that kidnapped and blackmailed her into choosing him over Kyo so that he could become clan leader?
"Kyo! Geez don't scare me like that you jerk!" she yelled crossly holding her arms close to her sides and her hands clenched. Just what the hell was he playing at, he almost gave her a heart attack. What was he doing snooping about so late at night? Didn't he have school papers to grade or something like that.
Kyo's eyes became cold and angry "So did you meet anyone in town today say...my brother" He said angrily. He had seen them together, locking lips and being flirty. How could she have fallen for his tricks? Was she really falling into his web again and letting him control and manipulate her. He would not allow that to happen again.
Misao gasped covering her mouth fearfully worried at how much he'd seen. She couldn't help herself, she had just given into her desires and felt so comfortable. "Kyo...that was...I can explain" she said fearfully. She knew they had a relationship and she was pregnant with his child, yet she felt a closer connection to Sho.
Kyo grabbed her wrist tigthtly causing her to wince at the contact "Then explain why you were kissing him!?" he said darkly a look of hurt in his eyes. He felt betrayed, she had been his lover for god knows how long. Now that she had lost her memory she was allowing his brother to seduce her so freely?
Misao blushed, god could she have no privacy or personal space? "I...I don't know why at first he was returning memories I lost and then...Then I asked to kiss me because...because...I liked it" she said nervously. She had given into her comfort and closeness to him and decided to accept his affection.
Kyo felt hurt and angry and kissed her passionately, but he was too angry so he came across forceful. Thus upsetting Misao further so she pushed him away. She was scared and she didn't like the way he was treating her. Feeling the baby throbbing inside of her because it sensed her fear and sense of threat to her well-being.
Before the baby could cause her pain again, she pushed him away roughly. Her eyes welling up with tears that threatened to fall down her cheeks "Stop it Kyo I don't like this!" she said tearfully. Why was he acting this way? She knew she had done something wrong and she felt guilty for that, but she didn't regret it.
"Why?! we're a couple aren't we or are you in love with Sho?!" he demanded angrily. He had to have placed seeds out doubt in her mind to make her hate him. She had been so comfortable around him before, now she was acting so cold. If he hadn't done something, then why would Misao be acting so cold to her.
Misao blushed, feeling intimidated by the endless questions and harassment "I...I" she stared shyly unsure of how to explain herself. They weren't married and Kyo had done nothing to help her regain her memories. Though she respected his comfort, she had felt suffocated by his constant watching over her.
"WELL JUST ANSWER ME!" Kyo demanded again. How could this have happened? Just when she had seemingly started to get better, now she was starting to grow distant again. Her brother was acting as another aid to her already fragile state. Causing her to question their relationship, his words and his actions.
"I DON'T KNOW I JUST KNOW I ENJOYED IT DAMNIT!" Misao yelled angrily wiping away the tears "I don't know about my past and you never told me about him when I forgot things so I don't know what to think!" Misao sobbed.
Kyo felt guilty for yelling at her "Misao I..." he said gently approaching her but she fled to her home in tears. Kyo punched the wall angrily "DAMNIT IT ALL TO HELL!" he raged.
