"Okay, let's change the subject," Embry said as we rode down the road.

"That's easily agreeable to," I huffed. "What shall we discuss?"

"You have to tell me more about your cars you have," Embry said with a smile.

"Well I have a Ferrari California and a 488 GTB, I have another Lamborghini the Aventador, an Audi R8 and Q7, and the Impala. Like I said I'm tracking down a, preferably, black 67' GTO. I may have found one. John's got a friend looking in on it for me."

"I'm surprised you don't have more," Embry said, kind of stumped.

"Well, I try not to go crazy with them," I admitted. "I am thinking about blowing a lot on an Enzo Ferrari. It's super expensive but it's become a classic I think."

"You really like Ferraris, don't you?" Embry said with a smile.

"I love Italy, so I think that's where my Ferrari favoritism comes from," I nodded.

"Well where are the Korean cars?" he asked with a laugh.

"I'm not a big fan of Korean cars," I said honestly. "I mean, they're nice, but they just don't beat those European sports cars and American muscle."

"You just prefer the faster cars," he nodded.

"Yeah, I'm a fan of those sleek bodies," I said.

"Oh I am too," he said as he looked me up and down.

"Embry Call!" I shrieked and slapped at him.

"Hey I'm just being honest," he said with a shrug.

"Well thank you for your honestly," I said with a laugh as I stuck my tongue out at him.

"You're very welcome," he said as he stuck his tongue out at me.

"Would you mind if I cut on my music?" I asked as I had the sudden urge for singing.

"No, especially if that means you're going to be singing along," he said with a smile.

"Okay!" I said with a smile as I used magic to plug my phone in the aux. I hit shuffle on my favorites playlist. "Crazy" by 4minute started playing. I smiled and sang and rapped along.

Embry sat back, relaxed, and started enjoying my company and music. After "Crazy" was over, "Monster" by Exo came on. The "Superwoman" by Minzy came on. Half way though the song, I spoke up and made sure Embry was still okay over there.

"You good?" I asked as he stared out the window.

"Yeah, just enjoying you," he said with a pleasant smile.

"Why are you looking out the window?" I asked curiously.

"Honestly?" he replied.

"Honestly," I nodded.

"I didn't want you to catch me staring at you," he said with a big grin on his face.

"Aww," I cooed. "Wait," I stopped, "is it a good stare?' I tried to confirm.

"Yes," he laughed.

"Okay, good, then, aww," I said.

"You don't realize how beautiful you are," he said in awe.

"I don't always feel that way," I said honestly.

"How do you feel today?" he asked.

"I'm feeling quite pretty today," I admitted.

"Fuck that," he said and shook his head, "Pretty? An understatement. You're beautiful. You always are. Even when you're sleeping."

"You're sweet," I smiled. "And you are, in that guy type of way, beautiful too."

Embry laughed, "Thank you baby." The song changed and "Gotta Be You" the Japanese version by 2NE1 came on.

"Oh, I love this song!" I said before I started singing along. Embry laughed and leaned over and kissed me on the side of my head. He muttered something about me being so cute.

An hour had passed by and we were almost half way there. I decided to call Sam to update him, even if we weren't there yet. The phone rang twice before he picked up.

"All is well?" Sam asked as he answered the phone.

"Yeah, we're almost half way there," I said.

"Slow your little ass down in that Lamborghini of yours," Sam demanded.

"Oh come on! Don't be a party pooper!" I said in annoyance.

"Slow down!" he said again before he hung up.

Embry started laughing, "Maybe you should slow down a bit. The road is pretty slick today."

"Oh you suck," I squeaked, but I did slow down. Yeah, a car wreck wouldn't hurt us as much as a normal human, but it would probably be worse in this car. Plus, this thing was like one of my babies. Not to mention the whole my parents died in a car accident thing.

"Just thinking of your safety baby," he said with a smile.

"Yeah, I should be thinking of yours too," I said guiltily. "Sorry for being selfish."

"It's okay, going fast is fun," he said with a shrug.

"Hey! If you ain't first, you're last!" I said, quoting Ricky Bobby.

Embry laughed, "Shake n' bake, baby!" I laughed, at least he knew some good movies.

"Ah, I love that movie," I said with a grin on my face.

"Yeah, it's hilarious," Embry agreed. As soon as he finished saying this my phone started ringing. I thought, at first, that it was Sam calling back, but I looked and saw it was John. I smiled and answered the phone and put it on speaker.

"Well if it isn't the most awesome teacher in the whole world," I said with a sly smile.

"And if it isn't the most amazing young witch I've ever seen!" he said back, a smile clearly on his face.

I laughed, "Hey John, what's up?"

"Just wanted to check in on you between classes, see how you're settling in," he replied.

"Oh I'm doing great, actually," I said, "I'm actually on my way to Seattle with my boyfriend Embry."

"Wait!" he exclaimed, "Hold the phone! Did little miss independent say she had a boyfriend?"

"Yes," I said smiling and rolling my eyes, "We actually both imprinted on each other." I left out the drama of me imprinting on Jacob too.

"Well, I'll be damned," John said in wonder. "Well, hey! I've got some birthday gifts from Claire, Zoe, and myself that I was going to send you."

"Oh, okay cool," I said with a smile.

"I'm sending them out today and sending them overnight so you'll get them in time," he said.

"Okay, gotcha," I nodded. "Have you told them yet?"

"Yeah, Claire cried," John said sadly.

"I hate hurting them, they've been so good to me," I said with a frown.

"They're already planning to spend spring break with you if the tribe allows it," John said.

"I'm sure no one would mind, but spending spring break up here?" I said with doubt. "That seems a little less fun than spending it on a sunny beach somewhere."

"Oh they've said 'bring on the rain'," he said with a smile clearly on his face again.

I laughed, "Those two, I swear."

"They're true friends, Michelle," he said.

"They really are," I said with a smile. "Well hey! I'm gonna get off here. I've got about another hour or so to go. I'll call you later."

"Okay, we're missing you here. I'm glad you've settled in and have someone. Your dad and mom would be so proud of you."

"I'm missing ya'll too, and thanks. I love you guys!" I said.

"We all love you too. I'll tell the girls. Bye, Michelle."

"Bye John!" I said back.

"He seems cool," Embry said after I hung up.

"He is! I got away with so much because of him," I noted, "But I was a good student."

"School's gonna be cool with you here," Embry noted.

"Who said I was going?" I asked with a raised brow.

"You aren't going to finish some kind of schooling?" Embry asked.

"I don't see why," I said with a shrug. "I'm old enough to drop out of no-maj school. And I did drop out of magic school. I've got enough money to last me lifetimes."

"So, you're not going?" Embry asked, a little disappointedly.

"No, I have no use for school," I said.

"That seems," Embry thought, "kind of sad. What will you do with your life?"

"What I've been doing, living. Taking myself wherever life may lead. Going with you, doing things you wanna do. Following dreams as far as this whole wolf thing will allow. Being together, you and me. That doesn't sound sad to you, now does it?"

"No," he said, his face suddenly alight. "That sounds amazing."

"Good, because that's how it's gonna go with us, living life day by day, taking life where it takes us, and sticking together no matter what."

"I love it, just as much as I love you," he said with a smile.

"I love you too," I said back with a smile of my own.

"Man, I wish I had some money," he muttered.

"Why?" I asked.

"Well, I'd probably buy you a ring or something," he said honestly.

"What are we talking here? Promise ring? Engagement ring?" I asked.

"Whatever you wanted it to be," he said with a shrug.

"What if I gave you some money?" I asked.

"It wouldn't really be the same," Embry said with a frown.

"Yeah, but after I gave it to you, it would still be yours to do what you wanted with," I said.

"Are you trying to say you do want a ring?" he asked.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind something to let everyone know that I'm yours," I noted. "What would you want it to mean?"

"Me? Well I mean most people would say it was crazy if we got engaged. I don't really care what they think though. But for the looks maybe a promise ring would work?"

"Okay," I said with a smile. "I'll give you a few grand."

"Woah, what?" Embry asked in shock.

"Think of it as pocket change to me," I said with a shrug.

"Just how rich are you?" Embry asked with narrow eyes.

"If I told you, I'd have to kill you," I said slyly.

"Oh, come on now, Michelle," he said.

"I'm the richest person in the no-mag world, let's just say that," I said with a shrug.

"You're dead serious," he said in shock.

"As a heart attack," I said, again, with a shrug.

"Wow," was all he could say, he was stunned.

"Try to keep it from the guys for a while, okay? I don't want the whole judgey looks thing from them."

"Why would you even think they'd be like that?" Embry asked.

"I don't know, people are judgmental these days," I shrugged.

"They're not like that. They won't judge you, they're family."

"Yeah, I don't know, I'm not used to this whole pack thing," I said shaking my head.

"It's okay, you were alone for so long," he said as he rubbed my hand.

"By the way do you need any new clothes or anything?" I asked, "I know I destroyed plenty in the past. I could get you a few things if you need."

"Shoes too?" he asked.

"Of course, anything you need or want," I said with a warm smile. I'd get Embry anything he wanted or needed. I knew his mom couldn't afford all the mysteriously disappearing clothes.

"You know you don't have to," he said, a bit of shame in his voice.

"I want to, we imprinted on each other, and besides we have each others' back. It's only right. I want to. So, please let me."

"Okay," he nodded. "Maybe one day you can get me one of these fast cars of my own," he joked.

"Don't say that if you're not serious because seriously, I'd get you a car as soon as you asked. Don't test me Embry Call."

Embry laughed, "I would love a car, but I couldn't just ask you for a freakin' car."

"Sure you could, you're basically saying we're going to get married one day. Hell, might as well start sharing it ahead of time," I said with a shrug.

"I can't take home a freakin Ferrari," Embry said.

"You don't have to take it home, you can leave it at my place," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Okay, you can get me a car," he said excitedly.

"Okay, what you want?" I asked.

"I mean a Ferrari would be great, but could you get me something a little less inconspicuous?"

"I could get you an Audi R8," I said with a smile.

"Okay," he nodded.

"We'll look in Seattle," I said, "Might be bringing a new car home today."

"Seriously?" he asked excitedly.

"Hells yeah," I smiled.

"That would be so cool, but then we'd have to drive back alone," he frowned.

"I could have it delivered?"

"If that would work," he wondered.

"Yeah, that would totally work," I said with a smile.

"Then let's do it!" he smiled.

"Okay!" I said and I put my fist out for him to bump it. Instead, he grabbed my hand and kissed it. I smiled and kissed his back.

The rest of the drive to Seattle was quiet from talking but filled with music and singing and rapping. Embry just nodded his head and smiled along with everything I did as I made a total idiot out of myself dancing in my seat. We had fun on the way there and I was totally relieved when we got there and I was able to get out of the car and stretch my legs.

We went clothes shopping first. Then we went to the jewelry store. I know I was supposed to be looking for a promise ring, but I couldn't help myself. I found myself browsing through the engagement rings.

"Be honest, that's what you really want, isn't it," Embry said to me as he stood beside me, his hand on the small of my back.

"I…well…I mean…okay, yes," I admitted reluctantly.

"Well, if it's what you really want," he said with a smile.

"Yes!" I said excitedly.

"Pick whatever you want," he said. So I did, I picked a pretty vintage looking ring with a rather sizable cushion cut diamond in it. As soon as I had it picked out and we paid for it, Embry dropped to one knee and proposed right in the jewelry store. It was a show, I will admit, but I didn't care. I was as happy as I had ever been in my life.

Of course I said yes! How couldn't I have? I loved him more than anything in this whole entire world. I kissed him like no one was watching. Then, we left the store. We went to the closest Audi dealer and looked at all their available R8s. Embry picked out a pretty blue one and we called for a truck to tow it with us back to La Push. It was going to be a very expensive drive, but none of that mattered to me.

I had called Sam at every hour like he asked, I called a little early back to let him know everything had went well and that we were on our way back. He was relieved. He told me he'd see me when we got back and that I didn't have to call him back.

Embry had as much fun on the ride back as we did on the ride up there. Embry drove back as I sat in the passenger's seat and danced and sang the whole way back. Embry cheered me on the whole time and even danced along a bit himself. By the time we got back to Sam and Emily's I knew that the sudden engagement wasn't too soon or anything like that. It was perfect.
