"Alright, let's go and see what that screaming was about, hmm"
We all nodded once again in agreement, and followed Gideon towards the castle.
We all walked towards the castle and gained access to it via a hole in the castles wall. What was inside of the wall made me sick. I had never before seen such gore. Arms were scattered here and there bodies were missing limbs blood was everywhere. On the castle walls, grounds and on the castle itself. As we got closer to the castle, the scent of death got sharper. We were outside the door to the castle which was blasted open when Gideon told us to hold.
"What did you three notice as we approached the castle?"
My two companions looked at me. I sighed had they really not seen anything? "There was two holes on the castle walls between the main entrance and the back. This could be because of the fighting on the inside or because the attackers did a three pronged attack."
Gideon looked pleased by my assessment of what went down at the castle.
"Good job kid."
"Names not kid it's..."
"It's what."
Did I really want to tell my MTG hero that my name was rainbow? Defiantly not.
"Names..."
"His names James, Defender of light"
Why had she told him that? And how did she know my real name?
"And who would you be?
"I'm Sunset and the other in our group is mist."
"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintances. Now that we know each other here's the plan: Dusk I want you to take the hole on the left side of the castle, Mist, the right, while James and I will enter through the front of the castle. Sound good to you three?"
We all nodded in the affirmative. And went to do our fans signed jobs.
Sunset
She sneakily went around the left side of the castle. She didn't expect to meet much resistance while she was sneaking around because it looked as if the battle was over. So she was a little surprised when she saw a couple of skeletons outside the hole she was supposed to enter through. She smiled though when she noticed that that all had their backs turned to her. Easy as pie, she thought to her self. She got behind the skeletons and severed their spinal cords from their heads. The skeletons fell to the ground and they turned into a pile of bones. She entered the castle with a smile on her face at how easy it was. But then she felt pain. She looked down and saw four swords sticking out of her in a diamond formation. One had stabbed her through the heart, two through her lungs one in the left lung and one in the right lung and the final sword had gone through right below her sternum.
She coughed up some blood when the swords were drawn out of her.
"Spell of regeneration success."
She looked in the direction of the voice. "D(cough) Dusk?"
"Sunset?"
She coughed up more blood and died with a confused look on her face.
Mist
He had walked around the right side of the castle hoping to meet resistance so as to test his mettle. He was a little disappointed when he met none. He easily entered the castle through the hole in the right side wall. What he saw shocked him. there stood Dusk over the body of Sunset. He watched as Dusk slowly stood up tears stained his face.
"What did you do to her! I though you loved her!"
"I-it was an a-acci-accident. I d-didn't m-mean to k-kill h-her," he spoke through choked sobs.
"She's still dead and it's all your fault! You killed her! You-you-ba," urk.
Four arrows pierced his chest all nestled in a nice clump.
"And now you've killed me." He slowly fell to the ground.
"Mist, Dusk. Why did you have to die. Why?"
He slowly stood up and walk words the throne that was in the center back of the room. "This is all your fault." He reached behind the throne and picked up a girl, who looked to be about nineteen with red hair and blue eyes and appeared to be around four feet eight inches tall, by her neck. He drew his sword with his other hand. "Now pledge you alligence to Liliana or die!" The girls feet kicked around. She couldn't breathe because he was crushing her wind pipe. She was starting to black out her vision was getting hazy. "If you won't pledge then die!" Dusk went to strike but he stopped mid strike because the chamber doors were blasted in.
"Stop!"
James and Gideon
I went to walk through the door but Gideon stopped me.
"Your different from them you know. I can sense it and I think your friend did to."
"What do you mean?"
"You weren't going to give me you name as James the Defender of Light were you?"
"No I was just going to give you my real name of James. I don't know why sunset added that last part."
"I think I do. I can sense mana within you. And I think your friend did to."
"Mana? As in the stuff used to summon creatures?"
"Yes, that is mana. Do you know how to summon creatures?"
"No."
"Then allow me to teach you. If you want to summon the creature focus on your mana and call out its name. I'd let you practice but we haven't any more time to lose come now."
If allowed him into the castle through the front door. It was surprisingly empty all though that could be because of the fight that had taken place outside. We walked into another hall way that had a few bodies in it. We tried the door and found it locked.
"I think they might be in here," I said to Gideon.
"I would agree so stand back."
I did as instructed and Gideon pulled the sword off his back and did a couple of slices on the door. He put his sword away and kicked the door. It shattered into pieces and reviewed a scene that I would never forget. There stood dusk practically strangling some girl. I saw he had a sword and was in mid swing. I did the only thing I knew that would stop him. I broke his concentration.
"Stop!"
Normal
Dusk snapped his head in the direction of the voice that had broken his concentration. "You, he shouted angrily, it's all your fault!"
"How is it my Fault?"
"If you had controlled your mana then she wouldn't be dead it's all your fault!"
"I just found out that I had mana let alone how to use it. And who died?"
"Sunset's dead! If you had just controlled you mana the she would still be alive."
"I'm sorry bro I Know you loved her. I didn't mean for this to happen to sunset to-"
"Shut up! You don't deserve to even speak her name. For your insolence you will die. Now prepare your self."
Dusk stretched forth his hand palm out and spoke five little words that would alter both of our fates forever
