"The moon will always be pulled by the sun, Aimi." She said as she gazed at me with blue-grey eyes. Her words were quite poetic, and she continued to hold my gaze. "It's something that you don't wish to know, my dear child, yet if you pursue the truth before your birthright arrives, it could bring you what you've wished."

I couldn't quite grasp this puzzle that I needed to figure out, and all these riddles didn't make sense. I watched the glow intensify from my body, seeing the happiness light up in grey-blue eyes while a smile danced across my lips from the unknown entity that inhabited my body. The others around her were trying to find the imaginary force she was talking to at the moment. Takara's face became concerned when the unreal me's voice changed.

"Darkness will eclipse the sunlight that sleeps within your soul as the dawn draws closer. After you have found the answers that you seek, a promise made long ago will embrace night's endless sleep."

"Taka, you've grown so much, and your friends have too." I heard the voice that sounded so full of maturity, far more than my own, flow past my lips. The twins behind looked curious, a hint of surprise flashing through their matching emerald eyes as they watched me pat Takara's head affectionately, almost like a child's. His comrades were focused on me too, trying to detect the outcome of the situation.

"Laito, Ayato, you two used to be so cute." A smile came across my grey-blue eyes and I shifted my gaze to the boys. Heading towards them a little, I watched Takara's face tense. "You've all grown into such handsome young men."

The two redheads' reactions were a bit different. Ayato's eyes widened almost instantly, his mouth opening ever so slightly. He seemed to be surprised with this somehow, his expression was one of pure disbelief. Laito took a moment to process the words, before his eyes did the same, a small gasp floating out from between his lips.

What brought that on? Whoa, what's happening to me?

I felt myself being pulled back into my body, with the last echoes of her voice drifting in my thoughts along with the eerie warning she left in its place. A bright flash began to surround the room, the shifting colors of the neon lights trembling with the surge of the energy that overwhelmed it.

Sparks and glass shards fell around the room, everyone on the dance floor in the beginning to scramble in a panic, and scream in alarm. I tried to find my bearings, the out-of-body experience leaving me standing on wobbly legs. This coupled with the people running and shrieking around me made the area almost impossible to navigate, and my head began to ache. All the colors and the lights just seemed too bright all of a sudden. It felt almost as if the garish tones of yellow, pink and green were burning themselves into my eyeballs.

Shutting my eyes, I pressed a hand to my head this was a mistake, for as soon as I turned away against the flow of the crowd, people began to rush past me, the sheer force of their shoving nearly bowling me over. The ache in my temples grew quickly into an insistent throbbing, and I stumbled, tripping over myself as I fought frantically to regain my balance. I couldn't get lost here, if I did, there was no way Hotaru or anyone would be able to find me in this sea of people. With that thought, I began to try to move out of the club with as much force I could muster.

Another pain suddenly struck me, and I fell to my knees. People still moved around me, too absorbed in themselves to notice me, sitting on the floor and struck with a sudden headache of unknown origin. My vision began to fade slowly to black as I heard somebody call my name, a familiar voice in an ocean of unfamiliar people.

"Aimi!" I heard somebody yell. "Aimi! Where are you? Aimi!"

I tried to reach out to this person, tried to let them know that I was here. However, all the strength in my arms vanished as my sight began to blur. The words of that woman bounced inside my head, my efforts to concentrate quickly proved futile.

The pounding pulse in my head began to increase. It felt like something was beating against the inside of my skull, and caused my body to sway from the force of the migraine. I felt weightless, feeling my eyes roll back into my head with the ever approaching darkness surrounding my vision.
I knew that I would not wake up until much later.

"Guys, I already explained it to you: she's the last of them!" I heard a voice say, cutting through the dreamlike haze that had overtaken my thought processes.

"Kanon, stop yelling, you're going to blow my ear off!" Another one said, irritated. It sounded like someone was speaking through a phone on speaker mode; clattering sounds in the background accompanied the voice, giving it a somewhat fuzzy quality.

"How could she still be the last one, Taka…? We were all there when Lia... You know..."

Taka...?

It sounded familiar, like I'd heard it before, though the voices continued to carry on in there little group conversation, leaving me in the midst of the puzzled thoughts swirling around in my mind. I wondered if I was back at home, sleeping in my bed, but it was all so strange. I couldn't remember what happened at all that night after passing out. I could still feel the luminescence and warmth radiate from my skin, still remember the tingles of light that danced across it, but no other... memory.

In reality, that couldn't have been real. The glow spreading across my body was probably the light from the color-changing strobe lights above the dancefloor. Taka was listening as the other two women on the line began to bicker amongst themselves, unaware it started to grate on his nerves before he spoke.

The memories seemed like bits and pieces from a dream that did not make any sense. To me. The glowing seemed a little too far fetched...

"Misao, Kanon, could you both knock it off? The yelling, I mean." He said in a hushed tone to the others on the phone, while I shifted in the blankets before sitting up, rubbing my eyes. "Everything could have been exposed with Aimi right then and there. Her mother left her in our protection for a reason; but what happened last night would've made things worse ─ especially if those bloodsuckers tried to delve deeper in to her past." The guy finished, sounding considerably worried. A girl being involved with bloodsuckers? Really, it was as if I was somewhere in the home of a delusional weirdo. Well, now we know how much time he spends in fantasy land.

My mind popped out the sarcastic thought almost automatically, as I stretched, yawning. I heard a few muttered words in the living room before the phone call ended. I heard footsteps drawing closer to the room I was currently in, so I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stretched once more, while rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I heard a light laugh, glancing up to see dark blue hair and auburn hues currently staring at what I assumed was my unattractive bedhead. My blurred vision started to become clearer, seeing Takara leaning against the door frame wearing nothing but a pair of faded denim jeans. Oh god, he's shirtless...
