""There is a reason I'm still standing
I never knew if I'd be landing
And I will run fast, outlast
Everyone that said no…
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put me back together again," -Karmina "All the king's horses"
The man sighed drinking his pain away. He lost every. His wife, his children, love for his job, even his mistress of seven years. The life he found himself building, working so hard to keep, was now falling apart right in front of his face. A swipe of the hand to the bar attender pushing his glass forward, "That is your twenty-seventh glass David," the bar attender sighed poring the last one drop in the bottle, "Twenty-eighth and you've lost yourself,"
David chuckled crossing his arms staring at his wife, "Why do you even stay anymore?" he questioned watching his wife turn with a laugh shaking her head, "Clearly there is no love in this marriage!"
"The fact that you just said that proves," she laughed gulping the whole glass placing it back onto the counter, "That you have become someone you yourself no longer knows!"
"I've lost myself-," he chuckled shaking his head as he sipped his drink, "You've lost yourself!" David was flattering himself now, "You trying keeping a wife and mistress happy for half a decade?" looking at the bartender with whom he had a rather interesting relationship with.
The bartender laughed filling his drink, "Well that might be true but at least I'm not blind to see what I've always wanted slip from me," he exclaimed as David looked at him questioning his words, "Dave we have known each other for shit-," both shrugged laughing, "Thirty years and now you feel as if your life is falling apart when your wife is dying all because Auburn married one of our oldest friends?"
"It is not that simple Franklin!" David explained taking a deep breath, "Yes thirty years is a long time but Annabeth is strong and Auburn is just a bitch," smirking lifting his drink, "A fucking siren,"
While David sat drinking his life away another contemplated what life was. Caroline sighed standing in front of the camera trying to smile for her senior pictures, "How did they call do it?" she asked herself looking at the wall of fame across from her. Laughing at the picture of Adam, Josh, Ahna, James, Tommie, sweet Alyssa, and Madison. Caroline HATED Maddie, no wonder she never came around since she left for Yale last fall. Still the question of why she hated her always loomed with Caroline. Maddie was a year ahead of her and madly in love with Adam.
What was her worry? Caroline knew she had Adam. The one thing she never had to worry about but is still the reason why everyone pushed her out. She smiled again look at Adam and still questioning her decision regarding him. They had always been together. Since they were children. Caroline and Adam, Adam and Caroline everyone always said.
Was she right for doing this? Then there was Elena. Something so strange been the two girls. Dante knew but of course everyone knew Dante was a flame and wanted every man that moved. Caroline smiled answering the photographer's call trying positions, "Poor Dante," she thought with a part of her wishing this was done but at the same time realized she always wanted Adam more than he wanted her. Dante was always her point of reason, probably a good reason to have at least one gay friend, to be her voice of reason.
Ahna took a deep breath sitting around the table with James mixed with co-workers at Tessler-holdings. Ever since she and James started all she wanted was to be his wife and have this life of riches but something…something was different. Trapped. This feeling came off her. Now she knew how Rose felt on the Titanic with Cal.
This feeling surprised her. Never in her life had she felt like this. Trying to bury this feeling she smiled taking a sip of her champagne looking over at Mrs. Auburn Kennedy ravishing about how hard it is to wedding plan in this day in age. So many choices and none of them fit her image of her perfect kids. How great it is that two of the airs are coming together not only to greater themselves but the company as well. I laughed at her statement spitting out some of my drink, "I beg your pardon?" she called as everyone looked when James asking if she was all right.
Ahna smiled taking a deep breath, "I apologize um-," rising from my set grabbing the train of my dress, "If you will excuse me!" she exclaimed leaving the dining room heading for the elevator with her glass of champagne heading to the roof.
Ever since she was a child that was the one thing she loved about the building. Loved the fact that not only was it a beautiful view but it was completely in closed so she never had to fear of being cold or falling off. She giggled thinking of a few options if that was the case but never the less it was her favorite place.
Ahnaliese smiled looking down at the street closing her eyes taking a deep breath as she remembered. Taking a deep breath touching the window, "Today's the day when dreaming ends!" The elevator opened again quietly actually for the first time ever. James stood there for a moment looking at the woman he loved his whole life. Just standing there in the light of the city as her blue dress fall ever so slightly almost like she was sleeping beauty. He loved watching her sleep, how beautiful she looked just moving a little and then smile before touching him. Shaking his head coming out of his Terence, "Ahnaliese-," James called leaving the elevator hearing her sigh turning to him.
Annaliese's sigh turned into a smile as James walked over to her taking her in his arms, "I was a fool to believe," taking a deep breath as James turned confused trying to re-sure her that every…..thoughts of what herphysician ran through her head.
The physician questioned Ahnaliese who sighed running her right hand through her hair, "Jeez hum-," running her fingers through her long hair sighing, "Started last November ending maybe early January-," she shrugged looking to her physician, "Why do you ask?"
"Because for the month of November and December it shows that there are no signs of the cancer yet during your chemo treatments from January to March it tells me that it went from a staging of two to remission!" The physician sighed looking at the data in front of him trying to see what when wrong, "This must be wrong-," he paused questioning the material that stares straight at him, "It says you are having a flare up from a staging of one to three-," shaking his head rising from the computer walking over to Ahnaliese taking out his stethoscope, "Have you been coughing up blood in the late couple days or showing signs of weight loss?"
Ahnaliese nodded as Doctor Underwood placed his stethoscope upon her chest listening to her heart, "I have noticed weight loss and some fatigue other than that I have been eating like a race horse-," she laughed as Doctor Underwood nodded sitting back in his seat, "Which is not like me at all you know this when we first met I was a hundred and three pounds!"
"What are you now?" Doctor Underwood asked looking at her chart then back to her, "A hundred and eighty seven pounds-," he sighed shaking his head looking from the chart to her, "That is very good though I believe your last visit last month you were just verily hitting two hundred!" Ahnaliese smiled agreeing with him as he sighed again, "Though I believe it is safe to say that the lung cancer is back possibly worse so there is a discussion that must take place about options!"
Ahnaliese laughed for a moment, "Options?" she questioned her Doctor who looked at the computer then to the chart, "What kind of options?"
Taking a deep breath kissing him feeling as if this would kill him, "It doesn't matter now," she laughed shaking her head, "September second is Dominic's ruling I should be-," Ahna paused looking at her sweet Jamie, "Our wedding is-,"
"Is fine," James smiled tracing her right cheek, "Dominic is fine," kissing her sweetly, "We are fine just relax Ahna that is all you need to worry about!" Ahna nodded agreeing that yes everything here was fine but was she fine as they fell into a hug.
Taking a deep breath coming out of the hug, "Let's go home!" she smiled as James nodded taking her back to what he now called "There Place," since Tommie and Jesse moved out. Ahna smiled kicking her heels off turning to James kissing him sweetly, "I've been thinking-," she spoke as he scooped her up taking her to the sofa hearing her giggle, "Soon me you and Josh will have Dominic and never have a care in the world but-,"
"Yes-," he spoke kissing her sweetly as they came to the sofa setting her on top of his lap, "What is it my love?"
Ahnaliese sighed stroking his cheek then kissing him again, "I want something of ours Jamie-," kissing him sweetly rubbing his back, "Something we've made together," taking both his hands she sighed, "Let's have a baby?" James chuckled kissing her again smirking a little explain that having a baby and making a baby are to different acts, "I'm serious!" she exclaimed pushing his shoulder, "I want to have a baby before I-,"
"Before what?" James looked oddly at her as she stopped in her words wondering where she was going. Ahna shook a little almost giving her secret up, So much for feeling trapped joking to herself I should tell him the truth about why but I don't want him to see me like…. No no!
Taking a deep breath looking at her, "What about Josh?" he asked when really she didn't know the answer. They one thing Ahna knew was she was happy with both of them so she lied and with her sweet smile replied nothing to which a smile filled James face as their blue eyes met with a kiss as they rose together. James smirked turning her around letting her dress loose as it feel to the floor before turning her back around and that's when she saw his face.
His dark hair and those brown eyes which she has fallen in love with, well the only thing she loved on him, but none the less Ahna caught herself seeing Josh. Damn! Beating herself up removing the thought of him from her mind that's better breathing deep as she removed his shirt moving for his belt.
Ahna jumped onto him as his pants fell his him as he led her to the bedroom throwing her down climbing onto her. Again as she felt herself falling as he moved inside her. Ahna smiled taking his hand kissing it as she opened the door pulling him in and locking it, "Ahna-," Ahna taking a deep breath pushed him against the door kissing him again. Both of their hands began to wander on each other as she pulled Harrington's sweaty shirt over his head. She giggled coming down kissing his toned chest feeling his hands ride up her shirt removing it slowly.
Shaking the thought of Josh from her head Ahna flipped him over thinking that would help her not think of him as she was now on top of him. Finally telling herself that she didn't need him and all she needed was here hence why Ahna was making love with her fiancé, well forcing herself because Ahna loved James not Josh. She knew this but did her heart know this or at least, she wondered her brain. Brain or Heart? Ahnaliese wondered going through what she knew and that was she loved James and only him as she now found herself on the bottom feeling him ready to explode.
Ahna moaned as both grabbed tightly onto each other as they did now resting her head on top his chest when she realized this is what she wanted lying there listening to his heart as he stroked her long hair. Kissing his chest sweetly never wanting to leave this moment but at the same time not wanting the idea of her and Josh to changing anything.
What was it with Josh? She wondered as her eyes become heavying knowing this wasn't just going to go away because after September whether she liked it or not Josh was going to become even more a part of her life. Now she questioned why she asked him in the first place. She sighed sitting up with a smile looking at James sleep. Rubbing her face she slide back down, "I am such a stupid woman!"
