When Brock opened the front door of the house, his jaw dropped when he saw Reba standing there. It had been several weeks since she'd been home.

"Reba? What are you doing here?" He walked into the doorway and looked around.

"He isn't here." She stated without looking at him. He walked back into the house and took her suitcase. She turned and looked at him. Her eyes were sprinkled with tears. "It feels like it's been forever since I've been in this house."

"You were here three weeks ago." Brock stated. Reba hugged him.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Brock stood in the living room holding her and letting her cry it out. Finally, he pulled away from her and looked into her eyes.

"Reba? What's going on?" He asked gently.

"You were right. I wasn't being myself and I miss that. I've lost out on all of Kyra and Jake's childhood. There are working mothers, but I do way too much. I haven't given enough attention to you and the kids. My life and my career changed so much when Rob became my manager. I did what he wanted because I was afraid I'd lose my appeal to other people, especially the younger generation. I let that affect the way I looked at everything. Will you forgive me?" Brock smiled.

"I forgave you the minute you walked in the door."

"Really?"

"Reba, I was never angry about your career. I love you and know you have that beautiful voice. I was hurt not for myself, but for our children. Kyra and Jake have been hurt so much. Kyra's bitter as I'm sure you've seen, but Jake's confused. He doesn't know why you're not around and I'm running out of excuses to tell him." Reba sat on the arm of the couch.

"And you shouldn't have to provide them." Reba replied. She looked around the room. "Where are the kids?"

"Cheyenne's out with Van and the others are in their bedrooms."

"Should I go talk to them?" Brock looked at her.

"What about the rest of your tour?"

"I'll call people and cancel the tour due to personal reasons."

"You're not going back." Reba shook her head.

"My family is more important, but I need to focus on you all."

"That's the sweetest thing I've heard in a long time." Brock smiled. "I'll be here if you need me, but I think you should talk to the kids on your own." Reba nodded head headed upstairs. When she got to Jake's room she knocked on the door.

"Jake?" She asked.

"Mom?" He questioned from behind the door. Jake opened the door and smiled. "Mom!" He hugged her. "How long are you staying? Five minutes? Ten?" Jake walked back over to the bed. Reba swallowed hard because she knew this was her fault.

"Actually Jake, I'm home for good."

"What?" He looked up at her.

"I'm not going out anymore. I'm here to stay."

"No more touring?" Reba shook her head.

"I'm going to be home permanently." Jake's eyes got real big.

"Is Rob moving in with us?" Reba shook her head.

"Come here Jake." He walked over and stood in front of her. "Rob's gone forever." Reba tried not to cry, but began to get chocked up. "I know I hurt you when I was on the road and I'm sorry Rob and success became so important because I thought I was doing it for you but you need me here." Jake walked away. "Jake?" He sat on the bed.

"You say you love us?" Reba nodded to herself as he looked at the floor. But then he looked up at her. "How could you hurt us if you really love us?" Reba's heart crumbled. She never realized how much she truly hurt her little boy. She took a deep breath in.

"Sometimes the people we hurt the most are the ones we love. It's unfortunate, but true." Reba sighed. "Jake, I'm going to try and make it up to you. Please forgive me?" He looked over at her.

"Dad says I need to forgive people, so I guess I can forgive you too." He smiled. Reba opened her arms and Jake hugged her. She wrapped her arms around him tightly and kissed the top of his head.

"You know I love you right?" Jake nodded. "You mean the world to me and I'm sorry for the way I've treated you guys. I'm ready to be a full time mom again." Jake smiled.

"Have you ever been a full time mom? You've been singing since Cheyenne was little."

"Actually since before Cheyenne was born." Reba laughed. 'I'll have you teach me." She ran her hand over his head. "Will you do that?" Jake nodded.

"You have to know how to make a great peanut butter and jelly sandwich." Reba laughed.

"Can you show me?"

"Not right now." Jake replied.

"Oh?" Reba tilted her head.

"I'm not hungry yet." Jake replied. Reba chuckled and walked out of the room. She headed down the stairs.

"How was it?" Brock asked from the couch. Reba looked over at him.

"Painful." Reba replied.

"I knew it wouldn't be easy. Jake loves you and you've barely been here for him." Reba sat next to him.

"I know. I'll be here now even though I couldn't be there then." The door opened. Reba and Brock turned to watch Cheyenne enter.

"Hey dad," Cheyenne said and looked at them, "well mom, it's not Christmas. What are you doing here?"

"I'm here for you." Reba replied. "I want to talk to you, Kyra and Jake." Cheyenne crossed her arms.

"Going on another tour mom? Across Europe? We won't see you for a year? It's not like it would change anything." Reba shook her head.

"No." Reba stated. "I've quit touring. I cancelled it. I'm not going back."

"Where's Rob?" Cheyenne questioned.

"Somewhere back east. I got off the bus and came home."

"Is this really your home?" Cheyenne countered. Reba nodded. She had caused so much pain, that these bits of anger were just a little bit of the kids processing their pain. "I quit being angry long ago. I'm not even hurt for myself, but I've watched both Kyra and Jake grow up without you. I've been here to help dad raise them, but we shouldn't have to. I shouldn't have to be mom to my brother and sister because their mom doesn't want to be here for them."

"I'm sorry, if you resent Kyra and Jake-"

"Who I resent is you." Cheyenne interrupted. "I will not let you pin this on Kyra and Jake."

"I wasn't trying to." Reba sighed. Talking to the girls would be harder than Jake because they're older. "I got to spend my childhood with you, but Jake doesn't really know you." She paused. "Is Rob really gone?"

"He shouldn't be coming back, but if he does I'm not going with him." Cheyenne nodded. "Cheyenne, the one thing I haven't said to you is that I'm sorry." Reba paused. "I'm sorry Cheyenne, for everything. All my life I wanted to sing. And I was found all those years ago. Somebody wanted to hear me sing and I was excited. I was humbled for a long time. I know I became a different person after I met Rob. I didn't like the person I became after I met Rob. I didn't like the person I became and I want to go back. Jake's going to teach me to be a mom." Brock and Cheyenne laughed.

"It'll be nice to have you mom." Cheyenne responded.

"So how was your date?"

"You haven't proven yourself fully as my mom yet. I don't have to answer that."

"Cheyenne." Brock warned.

"Alright. It was great." Cheyenne sat down.

"I probably need to go check on Kyra."

"Have you talked to her yet?" Cheyenne asked.

"No, I was talking to you and Jake first."

"She's pretty mad Ma." Cheyenne replied. "She's a 16 year old girl, so be careful."

"She's my daughter Cheyenne."

"That's another problem." Reba ignored that comment and walked up the stairs. She knew it wouldn't be easy to talk to Kyra, but she wanted to. She got to the room and knocked on the door. "Kyra?" Kyra opened the door.

"Oh it's you." She went to close the door.

"Please Kyra, listen to me." She stopped.

"Why should I? When have you ever listened to me? Were you expecting an excited and happy response to your return?"

"I'm home Kyra."

"Yeah, I heard you talking to Jake. But that doesn't fix the years of pain you've already caused."

"I know I've been gone and we can't fix that, but maybe we can change things." Kyra turned around with tears in her eyes.

"I've tried not to cry. You aren't worth crying over!" Kyra exclaimed and walked out of her bedroom and over to the bathroom.

"Kyra." Cheyenne and Brook stood away from them.

"Get away from me." Kyra growled. Reba stood still as Kyra opened the door and slammed it.

"Kyra, we have to talk." Kyra walked out of the bathroom.

"Do you want me to say I forgive you? Is that what you want to hear?" Kyra looked at her. "Fine, you're forgiven! Now go." Kyra started crying. Reba hugged her and Kyra pushed her away several times before she finally gave in and fell into her mom's arms. "I'm sorry Kyra. I'm so sorry." Reba said quietly. "I didn't realize how much of a sacrifice it was to give up everything. I was doing this for you, but I hurt you instead." Reba rested her head against Kyra's. "Never again." She said. "I'll never leave you again."

The End?
