I apologize for such a long wait for this chapter. Having a viral bronchitis and costochondritis at the same time kept me from working on many of my stories. So hopefully you all will enjoy this chapter.

Also, as a for warning, I was editing this chapter during the Sherlock Series 4 Finale; so if there is any spelling or grammar errors blame it on my emotional state from watching the finale.

A woman with golden blonde curls is standing in the place where Amy and Rory's friend Mels had been standing. She shakes her head and her shoulders as she starts to feel comfortable in the new body.

Jack, who has placed himself in front of his sister, watches the woman. Focusing on his time sense, he can see that this woman's time stream is fluctuating more than his mothers and this concerns him. To Jack, this means that this woman is now more unpredictable than ever before.

"Right. Let's see, then." The woman says as she begins to take stock of how she now looks. "Ooh, it's all going on down there, isn't it? The hair!" She begins to fluff up her curly locks with a shocked face.

Then she begins to run across the room to where a mirror on the wall is located. She stands before the mirror to try and study just what has changed on her.

"It just doesn't stop, does it? Look at that. Everything changes. Oh, but I love it. I love it!" Then she turns to face her audience. "I'm all sort of… mature."

"Really? Mature?" Jack snorts out at the woman's words. He is still standing off to the side, a few feet away from where Amy, Rory, and his parents are standing in front of a desk.

"Oohh." The curly-haired woman says as she eyes Jack. Then she surprises everyone and puts one of her feet up on an upturned couch. "Hello Benjamin."

Rose crosses her arms across her chest and pops an eyebrow with a look that says, 'Don't even try it.' Meanwhile, the Doctor slaps one of his hands over his eyes in both surprise and in exasperation. Both Amy and Rory are a bit shocked at how their friend, now daughter, is acting. Jack knows that he is blocking Donna's view of this, but he keeps his eyes trained on this new woman.

"My name is not Benjamin, and I am not interested in what you are suggesting." Jack growls out, knowing full well that she is trying to flirt with him. Or possibly even his dad.

"Oh, but you are." The woman rushes up to Jack places her hands against his chest. "You are so pretty for a boy."

Jack glares at her and before he can push her away the woman rushes off calling out about needing to weigh herself. He lets out a huff and looks over to see his mother giving him a questioning look. So Jack just rolled his eyes before turning around to see his sister trying to hold back a laugh.

"So that is Melody." Amy says, shocked to see at how her friend, no daughter, had flirted with the Doctor's son.

"It's River Song." Rory states as he looks at the Doctor and Rose.

"Who's River Song?" The woman in question asks as she comes back into the room.

"Spoilers." The Doctor says as he feels Rose's hand take hold of one of his.

"Spoilers? What spoilers?" Taking a few steps back into the room, the woman comes to a stop before continuing to talk again. "Hang on, just something I have to check." Then she leaves the room again.

Rory, who looks like he is having a panic attack, decides to speak up while he has the chance. "Does anyone else find this day just a bit difficult? I'm getting this sort of banging in my head."

"Yeah, I think that is Hitler in the cupboard." Amy says in a dazed voice.

"This isn't helping." Jack sighs out as he brings Donna over to where their parents are.

"This isn't the River Song that we know yet." The Doctor says as he steps away from Rose and begins to pace back and forth. "This is her right at the start. Doesn't even know her name."

"What do you mean, Doctor?" Rose asks. Sure the Doctor had told some of the things that has happened during his seven-year hiatus, but not every single detail.

"Ohh, yes!" the woman, River Song, cries out before entering into the room once again. She leans one hand against the door way and looks into the room. "I'm going to wear lots of jodhpurs. Well now, enough of all that. Down to business."

River Song pulls out a gun and aims it at the Doctor, who was facing his companions and family. Rose gasps in surprise, and places herself between the woman and her children. No one is going to hurt her children, or her Doctor.

"Oh, hello." The Doctor nonchalantly says to River. Slowly, he is moving to place himself closer to his family.

"You cheated on me. I was going to marry you, but then you've gone and married someone else. You didn't even invite me to your wedding. Then again, I'm not a wedding person." River says as she begins to walk towards the Doctor.

"Doctor? What's she doing?" Rose asks as she pushes the children towards where Amy and Rory are standing near the Doctor. She has to give her husband credit for having found such loyal companions.

"What she is programmed to do." The Doctor says as he gives Rose a soft look before looking back towards River.

"But how did she get the gun?" Rory asks the Doctor, worried that his daughter is about to do something so stupid.

"It was on the chair. She picked it up while flirting." Jack growls out as he moves to stand next to his dad.

"You noticed?" River gives Jack a smirk at hearing that the teenager had noticed what she did.

"Of course he did. He is my son, and is very observant about things. Could probably give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money, but Sherlock was a fictional character. Though I did have tea with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in my first body. Lovely chap."

"Dad." Jack growls out in warning.

"Oh well. Like father, like son." River says just as she pulls the trigger to the gun, but nothing happens. Just clicking of a gun that has no bullets in it.

"I took the liberty of removing the bullets during your regeneration." Jack says with his own smirk on his face.

"I also did some tidying up before your arrival." The Doctor says with nearly the same smirk on his face that his son has.

"I know you did." River says and pulls out a banana from beneath the leather vest she is wearing.

Everyone is surprised to see the banana when there should have been a gun. Even River is bit shocked by it.

"Goodness, is killing you going to take all day?" River asks, frustrated with how her plans have been foiled.

"Why? You busy?" The Doctor answers River's question while walking up to her. He takes the banana from her, but doesn't walk back to where the others are.

"Oh, I'm not complaining." River says before twisting around to take hold of a silver letter opener.

As she takes a swing at the Doctor, River discovers that the letter opener is floating in the air. It is surrounded by a golden glow. This is when River sees something that makes her gasp in fear. Beyond the Doctor's shoulder, River sees something that she has only heard stories of.

"Bad Wolf." River whispers out.

This causes the Doctor to spin around to look at Rose. His eyes grow big as he once again sees Rose manipulating the time vortex once more. Slowly, the Doctor tiptoes towards Rose with a hand raised, as if offering it, to Rose.

"Rose. You need to stop and let go. I'm perfectly safe, but you need to let these events take place." The Doctor says as he comes to a stop in front of Rose. "Please."

Jack, even though he is focused on his parents, notices that River has once again gotten hold of a gun. Without thinking he steps between the gun and his parents.

"You could have killed my father in the cornfield, but you didn't."

"We'd only just met. I'm a psychopath, I'm not rude." River retorts at Jack, but still keeps her eyes on the Doctor and Rose.

"You're not a psychopath." Amy says to River as she and Rory make their way to stand near Jack. "Why would she be a psychopath?"

"Oh Mummy, mummy. Pay attention. I was trained and conditioned for one purpose. I was born to kill the Doctor." River says as she comes to stand only a foot away from Jack.

"Demon's Run." Both the Doctor and Bad Wolf says at the same time, while looking at River. "A fresh mind, ripe for corrupting. The Doctor's own psychopath."

"Oh sweetie you should listen to your parents, for they are right about me." River whispers to Jack before placing a quick kiss to lips.

Jack stumbles back in surprise that this woman has kissed him. He doesn't like her, nor will he ever like her. Rubbing his hand against his lips, Jack scowls at this woman.

"Do not kiss me! You don't know me." Jack snarls out as he shoves River away from him.

River gives Jack a smile as she keeps herself from stumbling from his shove. Turning towards the broken window, River begins to walk towards it.

"Oh look at that. Berlin on the eve of war." River says as she steps up onto the frame of the window. "A whole world about to tear itself apart." She turns back, looking inside of the room.

Bad Wolf and the Doctor walk towards the window, passing Jack as they move.

"Now that is my kind of town. Mom, Dad, don't follow me. And yes, that is a warning. That goes for you too, Bad Wolf." River flicks a small, barely noticeable dart at Rose that is filled with a neurotoxin that she had been long ago.

Before the Bad Wolf can stop the dart, she is knocked to the floor by the Doctor. Using his body as a shield, the Doctor is the one who is hit by the dart. Immediately, his body goes ridged as the toxin begins to move into his body. His knees buckle, but he stays upright as Bad Wolf holds him up in her arms.

"What did you do?" Jack screams out before he feels his own body begin to behave erratically.

"The deed is done." River says with a sadistic smile on her face.

"What have you done?" Amy screams out as she rushes over to help Rose with keeping the Doctor up.

Both the Doctor and Jack grown in frustration that their bodies are starting to fail them thanks to River. Neither of the two Time Lords know what River kind of toxins River used on them. Yet only one of them is holding a grudge against the woman.

"It was never going to be a gun for you, Doctor." River says to before jumping out the window.

Bad Wolf lets out a loud howl, which causes both Amy and Rory to back away from her. They watch as the glowing around her gets brighter. Yet it is the Doctor who is the one to silent the Bad Wolf's howl, and how he does it is simple. He pulls her down and gives her the most passionate kiss this body has ever given.

Feeling the Doctor's lips against hers, that Rose herself pulls her Bad Wolf energy back into check. A few tears escape from her closed eyes as she realizes that this is new regeneration of her husband still kisses the same as the previous ones. Calmed down enough to keep Bad Wolf below the surface, Rose breaks the kiss and stares at the Doctor's face.

"Doctor." She whispers against his lips as she presses her forehead against his.

"Rose." The Doctor groans as his body screams in agony from the toxins.

"Oh god. Doctor." Rose says as she holds him to her in a scene similar to that of a time ago when he had been shot by a Dalek.

"Daddy!" Donna shouts as she finally comes to her parents' side, with tears running down her face.

"Hey you." The Doctor tries to say through the pain, while reaching a hand out to Donna. "I'll be alright."

"Argh!" Jack's scream echoes into the room as he curls in on himself on the floor.

"Jack." The Doctor growls out to Rose. "She's poisoned us."

"How? When?" Amy asks as she stands behind Donna.

"When she kissed Jack. For me, a dart. She knew I would protect Rose." The Doctor huffs out to Amy.

Rory, who had rushed to Jack's side, is trying to take the teenager's vitals but the teen is swatting at him. So Rory tries something different and presses one hand against Jack's chest. The beating of the teens' heart is too fast, which causes Rory to begin to panic.

"Your heart is beating too fast." Rory says to Jack.

"No kidding. I have two hearts. Ahhh shit!" Jack growls out at Rory as his body breaks out of the fetal position and bows backwards.

"Doctor!" Rory shouts, worrying about the young teen.

Rose looks over her shoulder to see Jack fighting through the pain that is going through his body. To see her son in such pain, has Rose feeling a little helpless.

"We'll be okay. I have a plan." The Doctor says to Rose.

"What's your plan?"

"Not dying."

"Don't joke, Doctor." Rose says while giving the Doctor a serious face. "Will he regenerate like you?"

"I don't know, Rose." The Doctor answers through gritted teeth.

"What do we do? How do we help you both?" Rory shouts to the Doctor.

"You'll have to go after her." Rose says to both Amy and Rory. "It has to be you two. I'll stay with the Doctor and Jack."

"Here. You'll need this." The Doctor tells Amy as he hands her his sonic screwdriver. "Rose, you need to get Jack and myself into the Tardis."

"But the smoke will kill you." Amy says as she watches Rose help the Doctor up and slowly walk towards the Tardis.

"The poison will kill me first." The Doctor mumbles out as he leans against the Tardis door.

"But what about Rose and Donna?"

"We'll be fine." Rose answers Amy as she helps a bent over Jack to the Tardis.

"Speak for yourself." Jack snaps out in pain.

"Oi. No being snarky towards your mother young man." The Doctor tries to use an authoritative voice, but it doesn't exactly work.

"Like you just now care about us." Jack shouts at his father.

Amy gives Rose a questioning look on if Rose really wants to be left with these two. Yet Rose answers back with a look that tells Amy that she can handle it.

"Right. Off you pop." The Doctor says to Amy.

He takes hold of Jack and shoves the teen into the Tardis before entering the ship himself. Then he turns back to look at Rose and gives her a wink before closing the door.

Inside the Tardis…

"Extractor fans on!" The Doctor shouts as he leans against the doors.

The Tardis does as the Doctor asks and begins to remove the smoke from the console room. She is worried not only for her thief but for her pup as well.

"Dad." Jack whimpers out as he lays on the clear floor by the console. "Please."

"Jack." The Doctor gasps out as he slowly crawls to his son's side.

Leaning against the gold rails, the Doctor reaches forwards to grab hold of Jack's outstretched hand. He pulls Jack towards him, tucking the teen's body against his chest. Holding his son close to him, the Doctor isn't sure what is going to happen to his son.

"It burns, dad." Jack whimpers out, tears growing in his eyes.

"I know, Jack. It's be over soon." The Doctor softly tells his son.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry… about everything dad." Jack mumbles out as the tears begin to fall from his eyes.

"No. No, if anyone should say sorry, it's me. I left you, your sister, and your mother with no knowledge of how long I would be away. Even though I wanted to protect you, it actually hurt you. I wasn't there for you three. Even when you needed me most."

"Daddy. I love you." Jack whispers out before his eyes rolled back and his body sags against the Doctor.

"No. Jack. Jack!" The Doctor wails as he clutches Jack's limp body tightly to his chest.

Knowing that his own fight is losing against the poison, the Doctor gently sets his son's body down onto the ground. Brushing the brown fringe that the boy has plastered to his forehead, the Doctor leans down to press his forehead against his son's. Then he leans back up and decides that he will not let this poison win.

"Give me an interface." The Doctor growls out in anger.

"Voice-interface enabled." A soft, Scottish girl's voice echoes out into the room.

"Amelia Pond." The Doctor huffs out as he sees the small girl who he had first met. "How am I doing?"

"Your system has been contaminated by the poison of the Judas Tree. You will be dead in 20 minutes. Regeneration has been disabled." The Amelia voice-interface replies.

"What about my son?"

"He is already gone."

The Doctor's face crumples as he allows himself to fall forwards onto the floor. He knows that he should try to reach the console of the Tardis, but deep in his hearts he just wants to give up. But it is the creak of the Tardis door opening that causes the Doctor to push himself up to his elbows.

"Jack!" Rose screams as she runs up the ramp. Falling to her knees, Rose tries use her fingers to find a pulse on him but there is nothing.

"Daddy." Donna says as she walks up the ramp to where the rest of her family is.

"Donna." The Doctor groans out as he turns his head to look at his youngest. "I'm sorry."

"Don't. Don't you dare, Doctor." Rose growls out at him from where she is seated next to Jack's body.

"Oh Rose. I'm so sorry. There's nothing that can be done." The Doctor says to Rose while rolling over onto his back.

"I can help, daddy." Donna says as she moves to kneel by her dad.

Giving the Doctor a sad smile, Donna reaches out and places a hand against her father's heart. Closing her eyes, Donna lets herself follow the music that has been whispering in her mind since coming aboard the ship. Her hand that is pressed against her father's chest begins to glow with regeneration energy.

"Donna, no." The Doctor gasps out as he grabs her hand that is on his chest.

"Donna, sweetheart." Rose calls out to her daughter.

"I can do this, daddy. You might not have been there for me, but I can be here for you." Donna says with a voice that has more maturity than Rose has ever heard before.

"You will lose most, if not all, of your regenerations Donna if you do this." The Doctor tells his daughter.

"I know, daddy. But the Tardis will help me recover. Just like she helps mommy not die." Donna says with a smile on her face.

Before the Doctor can ask any questions, Donna's regeneration energy begins to glow brightly as she sends it into his body. It surges through the Doctor at such a fast pace that he has to close his eyes. With his daughters' energy flowing through him, the pain of the poison disappears from his system till it is all gone. Once she is sure that her father is healed, the glowing energy recedes back into Donna and she passes out. Her body falls forwards and lands on the Doctor's chest. She still has a smile on her face as both the Doctor and Rose reach out to touch their daughter. Rose's hands end up on Donna's back, while one of the Doctor's hands touches the back of Donna's head.

"Will she be alright, Doctor?" Rose asks as she gently lifts Donna off of the Doctor's chest.

Groaning while sitting up, the Doctor opens his eyes and looks at Rose. "I don't know, but I suggest you take her to the zero gravity room."

"Will she be able to regenerate, ever?"

"I don't know, Rose. She shouldn't have done what she did."

The Doctor slowly begins to stand up, and once he is upright he walks over to the console. Keeping his back to where Jack's body is on the floor, the Doctor starts to move the Tardis as quietly and silently as he can.

"What about Jack?" Rose's voice cracks at saying their son's name.

Turning his head to face Rose, he sees that she has their daughter's exhausted body cradled in her arms. Knowing that he can't lie to Rose, the Doctor decides to tell her the truth. Even if it inflicts the wrath of Bad Wolf.

"He's gone, Rose. There is no getting him back. The poison that River used made regeneration obsolete. I'm sorry."

Not saying anything to the Doctor, Rose walk away and makes her way down the stairs. Inside of her, Bad Wolf wants to exact revenge on the woman who has killed her pup. The only thing that kept Rose from releasing Bad Wolf was the hardness in the Doctor's eyes. She has only seen it a few times before, and Rose knows that the Oncoming Storm is brewing within her Doctor.

After Rose disappears down a hallway, the Doctor then turns to the task at hand. With the Tardis having landed where he needed it, the Doctor looks down at one of his hands which is in a tight fist. Letting himself feel the anger of his alter-ego, the Doctor moves quickly to where the Tardis has placed a black dress suit on the jump seat. He changes in less than a minute and taking hold of the hat and cane, exits the Tardis to face off against the woman. The woman who nearly killed him, but succeeded in killing his son.

Stepping out of the Tardis, the Doctor sees Amy and River Song standing in what appears to be a restaurant. River has on a different set of clothes, the Doctor notices. While Amy appears to be standing there, not moving an inch; not even blinking.

"You!" The Doctor shouts out at River Song as he slowly marches towards River Song. "You've killed my son."

"You're supposed to be dying." River says in surprise, wondering just how the Doctor is still alive.

"Not any more. Was healed, by my daughter." The Doctor's voice takes on an edge that only a select few have ever heard.

"You're supposed to die." River whispers as she shivers at hearing the coldness of the Doctor's voice.

"Not today." The Doctor growls out as he comes to a stop near River. Then he turns to face Amy. "Amelia Pond, judgement death machine. Why am I not surprised?"

"A robot ran by 423 people." Rose's voice comes from where the Tardis is parked. However, it isn't exactly Rose who is speaking.

"Bad Wolf." The Doctor says looking back at River.

He lets a smirk appear on his face as he watches River take a few steps back in fear. Listening carefully, the Doctor can hear his goddess approach where he is standing. Once she makes it to his side she turns to look at him, her eyes glowing gold with the energy that is surging within her.

"My Doctor." Bad Wolf says while keeping her eyes trained on River Song.

Suddenly, Bad Wolf raises a hand and River is surrounded by the golden glow of time energy that the Bad Wolf is controlling.

"Keep her there, I want to meet these controllers of this robot." The Doctor's cold voice says to Bad Wolf before turning to look at the robot that looks like Amelia Pond. "If you have Amy and Rory inside, let them give me a sign or else you all will face me."

The cane that the Doctor is holding in his hand opens up to reveal another sonic at the top. It lets out a beep to acknowledge that the sonic screwdriver has been turned on.

"Very good." The Doctor says menacingly at the robot before pointing at River. "What do you want with her?"

"She's Melody Pond. According to our records, the woman who kills the Doctor." the robot Amy answers back.

"And I'm the Doctor, so what's it got to do with you? She hasn't killed me, but she has killed my son." The Doctor tells the robot Amy.

"Throughout history, many criminals have gone unpunished in their lifetimes. Time travel has… responsibilities."

The Doctor starts to laugh and looks over to see that Bad Wolf hasn't harmed River. Then he looks over at the robot Amy again before speaking to it.

"What? You got yourselves time travel so you decide to punish dead people?"

"We don't kill them. We extract them near the end of their established time lines."

"Then what?"

"We give them hell."

"I'd ask you who you think you are, but I think the answer is pretty obvious. So who do you think I am? Or better still, who do you think she is, my wife? Sounds like you've got my biography in there, and I'd like a peek." The Doctor says as he stares into the eyes of the robot Amy.

"Our records office is sealed to the public." The robot Amy says in reply. "Foreknowledge is dangerous."

"Tell that to my wife. She sees all, knows all. There isn't a thing that she hasn't told me about my future." The Doctor says in a bluff. Deep down he knows that Rose would never reveal anything about his future, even when she is Bad Wolf.

"Records available." The Robot Amy suddenly says out of the blue.

"Who wants me dead?" The Doctor asks the Robot.

"The Silence."

"What is the Silence? Why is it called that? What does it mean?" The Doctor asks, his Oncoming Storm persona melting away slowly with the idea of finding out what is to come.

"The Silence is not a species. It is a religious order or movement. Their core belief is that silence will fall when the question is asked."

"What question?"

"The first question. The oldest question in the universe. Hidden in plain sight."

"Yes, but what is the question?"

"Unknown."

A chuckling is heard, and both the robot Amy and the Doctor look to see who is the cause. The chuckling is coming from Bad Wolf herself, and she has now turned herself to face them. River Song is still trapped in the gold energy but is now placed next to Bad Wolf.

"Have you forgotten, my Doctor. Is it pushed so far back that you can't recall it?" Bad Wolf asks the Doctor.

"You are known as the Bad Wolf." The robot Amy says suddenly. "You are also a known criminal."

"No. No, no, no. Don't." The Doctor places himself between Bad Wolf and the robot Amy. "Don't confront her. I can guarantee that you will not survive."

"But she is to be punished for what she has done." Robot Amy replies.

"And what is it that she does that makes her a criminal?" the Doctor asks. "I'm her husband and I will be told."

"She has killed several people in the past and has destroyed a populated planet."

The Doctor isn't shocked to hear about the people, but he is surprised to hear that Rose, his Bad Wolf, will destroy a planet. "When? When does she destroy the planet?"

When the Robot Amy doesn't respond the Doctor looks over at where River and Bad Wolf are standing. His eyes widen as he notices the tears streaming down Bad Wolf's cheeks. The Doctor knows that hearing this particular information must have allowed Rose to pull some of Bad Wolf back from the surface.

"Look at you. You still care." River says to Bad Wolf, being moved by the emotional display that Bad Wolf is giving. She had heard stories about the Bad Wolf and how she was a cold, unfeeling goddess who kills without remorse.

Bad Wolf turns to look at River. "Yes."

"Why?"

"Because I have to live with what I have done." Bad Wolf says emotionally. "I have killed many of the Doctor's enemies, which I am not ashamed of killing. But there are others who I have killed that did not deserve it. I could have spared them, but I didn't. I wiped them out of existence without caring that I hurt those who loved them."

"You did what you had to do." The Doctor says, now standing before Bad Wolf. "What you have always done, and that is to protect me. And you have done a wonderful job of doing it."

"But I couldn't protect him."

"I know. Neither of us could."

"Our son." Bad Wolf cries out as the last of her energy recedes, leaving Rose Tyler standing there in tears.

The Doctor pulls Rose to him, and hugs her close to his chest. Both of his arms tighten around his shaking, mournful wife as she presses her face into his shoulder. He presses gentle kisses into Rose's blonde hair, and allows one of his hands to rub against her back to comfort her.

River Song, being freed from the Bad Wolf's energy, has not left her place near the woman who houses the goddess. She isn't sure how to feel as she sees the Doctor, who she was supposed to kill, hugging the woman who terrifies her so. Yet she can't help this feeling that has sparked deep within her. River has heard the Bad Wolf's admission of killing, but she has never heard someone be so sincere about feeling guilty over it. This train of thought forces River to confront what she has done. If she heard the Doctor correctly, this couples' son was killed by her, and they are hurting because of it.

Not wasting a moment, River rushes away from the Doctor and his wife, passed the robot Amy, and heads towards the Tardis. Since Bad Wolf had left one of the doors opened, River has no problem entering the time machine. Running up the ramp, River hears the door slam shut behind her on its own. Then, as she comes to a stop at the top of the ramp, River sees the prone body of the son she has killed, lying on the floor.

'Why are you here, my child?' The Tardis whispers into River's mind.

River gasps out at hearing the voice in her head, as well as feeling another presence in her mind. She presses a single hand to her head and closes her eyes as she feels a slight burning in her mind.

"I'm here to save him."

'I am intrigued that you, the one who killed him, would want to bring him back.'

"He's not dead?" River asks out loud.

'He would have been if I had not intervened. My pup is very precious to me, as is his parents. I would give up my life to keep them safe. Yet I cannot save my pup from the kiss of death you gave him. But you, my daughter, can save him. Use your regeneration energy, and give it to him.'

"How?" River asks as she opens her eyes and kneels down.

'I shall tell you.'

The Tardis whispers in River's mind and of her own volition, opens a small hatch on her console to release the time vortex inside. Knowing that River is focused more on channeling her regeneration energy into Jack's body, the Tardis lets a small stream of the time vortex to wrap itself around Jack's ankle. It is then that Jack's body begins to glow with the two types of energy merging together within his body. The light becomes so bright that River has to close her eyes, and the windows on the doors of the Tardis let the light out.

From outside the Tardis, the Doctor and Rose watch as the light shines brightly out of the Tardis door windows. Even Rory and Amy, who were released from being inside of the robot, are watching and wondering what is going on inside of the blue police box.

"Doctor? What's happening?" Amy Scottish voice asks, wondering why her daughter would want the Tardis.

"I don't know, and I don't like not knowing." The Doctor replies as he tries to open the doors, but the door won't budge.

"Why won't it let us in?" Rory asks, adding to the growing frustration within the Doctor.

Suddenly the light comes to an end and the doors open up against the Doctor's pushing. He stumbles into the Tardis and runs up the ramp till he sees an unconscious River Song lying on the floor, but he doesn't see Jack's body anywhere.

"Doctor. Where's Jack?" Rose asks through slow falling tears as she too sees that her son is no longer there.

"She did a stupid thing you know." A cocky sounding voice, with a slight accent that is not really recognizable echoes throughout the console room.

Everyone turns to look at the stairs as a young man comes up them. He is about six feet tall and has a slim but muscular build to him. The facial features are a blend of his father's ninth and tenth regenerations; save for his ears, for those he inherited from his mother. He has thick blonde, wavy hair that ends at his jawline, but it is his eyes that causes everyone to gasp. His eyes are a deep blue, almost ocean like, color.

"Hello, Mum. Dad."

"Jack?" The Doctor asks this young man, who looks almost the same age as this current regeneration.

"That's me."

"But you were dead." Rose softly says as she takes in the changes that her son has.

"I kind of was and I kind of wasn't." Jack tells Rose as he comes closer to where his parents are standing. "Kind of an in-between place. That's where I was, and the Tardis wouldn't let me slip from it till she had the second piece of our puzzle."

"What was the second piece?" Amy asks, after leaving Rory to see to the unconscious River Song.

"The daughter you share with the Tardis." Jack tells Amy with big grin on his face. "You see the Tardis had seen this coming long before my parents did or ever could. Mum becoming the Bad Wolf was part of the original time line, but what Bad Wolf didn't plan for was my creation. You can blame my parents on that. If I hadn't been created, by their love for one another, then all of this time stream would have never existed. Your daughter, would have been the one to save the Doctor, not my sister. But that one second in time, my conception, threw the time lines of my parents into chaos. Even though time tried numerous times to correct the time stream, my existence interfered. It interfered with Dad's duplicate dying on the Crucible, Mum's kidnapping, our dealings with the resurrected Master and Time Lords, and finally today. The day which River Song was to kill the Doctor after regenerating. But again, my presence changed what was to happen. So, it wasn't the Doctor that River Song gave her regenerations to, but me. Wow, have I got a gob on me or what."

"So my daughter has no more regenerations?"

"None. Not anymore. The Tardis had to help give her a boost to get me back up and running again. Then again, River Song is also a daughter to the Tardis. So you share her." Jack says to Amy before starting laugh uncontrollably.

"Right. I think it's time for you to join Donna in the zero gravity room." The Doctor says as he reaches out to take hold of Jack's arm.

"Oi, pops." Jack laughs out at the Doctor while slapping away his hand. "I am perfectly fine. Got to see the lady off."

Jack tries to walk towards where Rory and River Song are on the floor, but is having a hard time controlling the wobbling in his legs. It is then that the Doctor takes hold of Jack's arm and guides him towards the jump seat.

Rose, meanwhile, begins the sequence on sending the Tardis into the vortex. She still can't believe that her son has regenerated into this young man. She can feel Jack's presence in her mind hasn't changed, but seeing what his body has changed into has Rose feeling unsure.

Once Jack is seated on the jump seat, the Doctor joins Rose at the console and puts in a set of coordinates. He looks at Rose then over to where Jack is seated then back to Rose.

"He is still the same person. Same hard drive, different casing." The Doctor says to Rose.

Hearing those words has warning bells ringing in Rose's head and she looks at the Doctor. Trying hard not to give anything away, Rose decides to ask him a question.

"Where did you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"What you just said."

"All I said is that he is still the same person. I told you those words back when I went from Dumbo ears to pretty boy." The Doctor says before releasing the landing lever. He then heads off to help Rory carry River's sleeping form out of the Tardis with Amy following closely behind them.

"He doesn't understand." Jack says to Rose from his place on the jump seat. "Bad Wolf."

"Understand what?" Rose asks her son who doesn't look like her son.

"It's bleeding through, but it isn't the right time yet." Jack replies, his eyes taking on a golden glow to them. "She isn't with us yet."
