Danny followed quietly behind Gajeel. They were headed out on a mission and Danny was keen to get out of the guild. It was incredibly dull at the guild. So, when Gajeel stated he was leaving, Danny was eager to join. Plus, Gajeel had his key and Danny had to be nearby his owner. They were attacking some dark guild that had been talking trash about Phantom Lord.

"So, we going to just barge in and attack or am I going to lend you some of my powers to sneak attack them?" Danny asked. Gajeel shrugged, which meant they were probably going in head first. Danny was prepared for that. The whole week he had been out with the guild he spent it working on his powers or helping out around the kitchen. Everything he did with his powers revolved around the icy feeling he felt within himself.

"Hey kid, I'll be working bottom to top. Try not to get in my way," Gajeel ordered. The squirt had the nerve to stick his tongue out at him before nodding with a smile. Phantom had been the only one at the guild that showed no fear when talking to him. In fact, Phantom had a tendency to tease and annoy just about everyone in the guild. The kid got into a lot of fights because he didn't know when to shut up, but he always made it out unscratched.

What bothered Gajeel the most was that Phantom would look at him for help or advice when he was stuck. It made Gajeel feel awkward, so he would just glare at the kid, and whoever was bothering phantom. The kid just smiled back, and the other person would back up, fearing what Gajeel would do to them. Most of the guild tended to avoid both of them now, not that Gajeel was complaining. Phantom did have good quality; he always brought supplies.

Phantom would pull out iron for him from out of nowhere, or sometimes food and cooking supplies. Gajeel sometimes wondered if being able to pull food out of nowhere was a part of his spirit powers. He had a feeling it wasn't and didn't want to get laughed at for asking a stupid question. Gajeel had no clue what a spirit really was, and one thing had been bugging him for a while.

Drake had mentioned that it was harmful for a spirit to stay out of the spirit world for long and that spirits only don't return there if they have been banished. Gajeel didn't know how much of what the celestial spirit mage said was right, but he knew Phantom wasn't banished. He was summoned twice before Gajeel, so that proved he wasn't banished. Right?

Gajeel sighed. He really didn't understand Phantom. He knew little about him and had no clue if the kid was okay. Plus, Gajeel was a dragon slayer. He didn't work with keys, and he couldn't summon the idiot if he somehow got hurt enough to get sent back to the spirit world. It was kind of stupid to worry about all of this now, as he stared at the guild hall in front of them.

Danny was excited as he stared at the building in front of them. It wasn't anything special, but it was his first quest. Gajeel made his way into the building, and Danny followed after, invisible to the world. They entered the guild, and everything went into chaos. Debris was flying as Gajeel managed to pummel anyone who got in his way. Danny was a floor above him, having fun shoving mages or making them fall through the floor. Occasionally, Danny would put some of his training with his mom to use, knocking someone out, but he preferred using his spirit powers.

The only power he couldn't use that well is that green energy blast that could harden, it only really appeared when he was angry. Danny huffed as one of the female mages pulled out a key, and before Danny gets over to her, she is already summoning the spirit. "Gate of the Hunter I open thee! Orion!" The female shouts and an armored man appears. "Don't kill this spirit, Orion, I might find it useful once I get its key," the woman orders.

The armored spirit mutters "It's Skulker," under his breath before he rushes towards Danny. Danny lets out a manly eep! before dodging and rolling towards the female mage. If he took out the mage, then the spirit should leave. Skulker pulled out a gun and Danny barely manages to escape it. "You might be interesting prey after all, whelp," Skulker states. Danny's mouth falls open, as he stares at the man.

"Prey?" Danny questions as he dodges the glowing sword. He has a feeling that it would hurt him even if he went intangible. Skulker merely smirks, and Danny feels somewhat unsettled. Skulker lunges forward, making Danny dodge the incoming blade. Danny frowned, as he had to continue to evade this spirit. Danny wants to attack, and prove himself to Gajeel, his friend. Danny growls, and green energy blasts shoot from his eyes and not only knocks the sword out of Skulker's hands but breaks it as well.

"I planned on simply capturing you and letting you live the rest of your life in a cage, but now, I will rest your pelt at the foot of my bed," Skulker growls. Danny backpedals, as a look of pure disgust passes over Danny's face. Then Skulker shoots his guns. Danny manages to dodge the first seven, but the eighth hit him in the shoulder. Danny lets out a scream as electricity coats his skin.

Danny grits his teeth, and when he opens his eyes, he sees a net heading his way. His eyes widen, and he raises his hands. Green energy escapes from his hands and strikes the net. The net bursts into green flames. Unfortunately, Danny forgot he was battling two people, and he felt something wrap around his wrists. A shock goes through him again. The usual cold he feels now feels like it's searing him. Danny wishes for the pain to go away, and suddenly, a white light surrounds him.

The mage yelps and shoves him to the floor. Danny no longer feels like he was going to burn to death, but he still feels a light layer of lightning on his skin. Skulker is staring at him with interest, and the mage is smiling with a sinister atmosphere hanging off her. "Perfect, Orion. Now spirit, I hope you are ready to be used," The mage sneered.

"No! You don't have my key. Plus, even if you did, there is no way I would agree to a contract with you, You don't even call your spirit by it's preferred name," Danny argued. He glared defiantly at the celestial spirit mage. Skulker stumbled a little in complete surprise at the odd spirit's words. The mage glared at Danny.

"You will do what I say, Tool! You will obey me. Once I get your key from your idiotic mage, you will follow every word I say. I'll start your punishment now so you understand what you can look forward to for your disobedience," The mage growled. She grabbed the broken blade off the floor and moved forward, a smile on her face.

Jack Fenton glared at the wall. This whole situation was a load of garbage. They insisted that there was a monster in his home, and they arrest him when he tries to stop them from setting his house on fire. He sighs. Jack had no clue what happened to his kids, but he knew they were alive. He could feel it in his soul.

He was glad Maddie was gone. She wouldn't have to suffer through worrying about Jazz and Danny right now. She would only worry about finding Danny's key. Jack clenched his fist. Danny was their target. They must have seen Danny transform. He had been doing it recently, turning into a spirit, accidentally at night. Danny would wander through the house until he reached the lab.

Jack wasn't sure what exactly Danny was looking for in the lab, but Danny never managed to find whatever it was before Jack managed to catch him and bring him back to bed. Jack was always worried that Danny was trying to find his way back into the portal. Jack never wanted to go through the portal accident again. He never figured though that someone would spot Danny and get scared.

Everyone knew that their house contained spirits. After all, Maddie was a Celestial spirit mage. Ever since Maddie left to find Danny's key, though, things started to get weird in town. People kept a watchful eye on him and his kids. Jack hadn't thought much of it before, but now it was all he could think about. What had they been thinking of, and why would they do this? The family had been living here for years.

Jack took a deep breath and sat down. His palms rested on the cold ground. Jack wonders if Maddie found Danny's key yet. He really hopes she will find it soon. The longer it takes to find the key, the more likely it is that someone else will find it. Jack and Maddie both feared that happening. Many celestial spirit mages out there mistreat their spirits. Danny was special. Danny was his son. Jack didn't want Danny to be used as some weapon for a power-hungry mage.

Jack desperately wanted Maddie to find Danny's key. Then they could give it to Jazz. The two siblings would protect each other, and no one would be able to mistreat them. Jazz was so smart; Jack knew she would be able to look out for his clueless son. Jack looked back at the window. He was sure they were fine. They had to be. Jack would never survive if they weren't.

"How could they think we had a monster in our house!" Maddie wept. Angela rubbed Maddie's back as she cried. Maddie had searched everywhere for her daughter and son, but she had come up empty. Maddie didn't want to believe that her kids were dead and Angela couldn't blame her. In fact, Angela had even looked for the kids when the fire first occurred.

Angela hadn't known why the fire had started, until now, that is. Maddie had been searching for clues, and Angela was simply trying to hold her friend together. Apparently; the Manson's, Jeremy and Pamela, had gotten a lot of the parents into an angry mob and then whipped them into a frenzy. Angela never knew that parents could be so scary. Angela wasn't sure what to do.

Angela wanted to help Maddie, but at the same time, she wanted to leave this town and never return. Angela was terrified for her child. She didn't want the same thing that happened to the Fenton's to happen to her family. Angela only knew the Manson's a little and that was because Tucker had run into their little girl once or twice. Would the Foley's be next?

Angela shook her head to clear her thoughts. Right now, she had to help Maddie. "It's going to be fine. Your children are missing, but at least they weren't found in the house. They are most likely together somewhere hiding out. They probably just got scared and ran. Just wait for the investigation to end and your husband to be released. The two of you together are more likely to find your kids; then you are to finding them on your own. Don't wear yourself out, okay," Angela suggested.

Maddie nodded. "It's just that Jazz only just turned eleven and Danny is only eight. They're so young and probably scared to death," Maddie cried, and Angela simply listened. A young boy watched from around the corner with a frown on his face. He never saw adults so sad before. The kid fisted his shirt. He liked Danny. Well, the few times he saw him anyway. Maybe he could help look for him. Tucker smiled as he ran back to his room to grab a unique device.

Samantha Manson was not a happy child. She was always being bossed around and criticized by her parents. They wanted the best for her, or at least that is what they told her. Sam thinks they just want to control her. They make her wear stupid pink dresses and plan her day to the minute. She doesn't like it. She wants to be free and hang out with other kids her age. Why should she care if other kids are "below her status" if they can be fun?

Sam pouts as she looks out the window with a book in her lap. She didn't want to read. She wanted to be outside. "Samantha," Her tutor called. Sam let out a sigh. She would never get her way unless she ran away. Her last three attempts haven't gone so great though. The first time she almost got caught when she ran into this African American boy, only to get caught five minutes later when this annoying girl named Paulina called over the adults. "Samantha!" the tutor yelled.

"Coming!" Samantha hollers back and slides onto her feet. She glares the book in her hand before turning around and heading out to the hall. Her tutor, an old balding man strides up to her out of breath. "I am sorry to have kept you waiting, Mr. Lancer," Samantha apologizes, and she actually means it. Mr. Lancer was a strict but great teacher. The door behind her closes, and out the window, she used to be looking out of, an African American boy runs by.

Jazz stares at the man in purple. He was so weird, of course, she would never say that out loud. She knew her manners, and it isn't nice to insult a new friend. The man smiled at her, and Jazz smiled back as she held onto his purple coat. He was very kind. He had found her and had been helping her find her way around this place ever since. It was a shame she couldn't introduce him to her parents, as the way she got here was gone. "Mr. Clockwork, why can't I see my parents anymore?" Jazz asked. She watched as the smile on his face disappeared.

"I'm afraid, my dear that by the time you get back home they will have left that plane for the next. It will be your job at that point to look after your brother for them," Clockwork states. Jazz nods and quickly wipes the tears from her eyes. He had told her this before, but she hadn't taken it very well. She was sorry she had hit him earlier. She bit her lip.

It was scary to think that her parents were not going to be with her anymore. It was even more frightening to think that this man would not be with her forever, either. "You're sure I'm going to be able to help my brother, though? Will he be fine until I can get to him?" Jazz asked. The man nodded. He was very wise. He had the answer to any question. Jazz had tried to trick him, and he still gave her the right answer. So, she had to believe him. Why would an adult lie to her anyway?

"I swear. after all, I would never lie to family, and you, my dear, are family. Distantly, of course, but the fact remains the same that we are family Jasmine," Clockwork answered. Jazz nodded. She never heard of Clockwork before. He didn't look like mom and dad at all, though. Yet, she still believed him. They had to be family because it made no sense to lie to her, and he had done nothing but take care of her since they met.

Jazz looked at him and shivered at the cold he emitted. "Are you from Danny's side of the family?" Jazz asked. A twinkle shined in clockwork's eyes as he turned to a door and pulled out a teal coat. Clockwork held it out to her, and she gladly accepted it.

"In a way, I suppose so," Clockwork replied. Jazz glared at Clockwork. That wasn't really an answer. He did that sometimes and Jazz hated it. He would give a half answer or a riddle in reply. It was just the way he talked, but she disliked it. He was weird and he was really good at confusing her. She hated that. Jazz wanted to feel smart, but at least Clockwork was going to help her and that was what she needed the most right now.

Author's Note: I got an internship. Phantom Lord isn't a dark guild, which is why Fairy Tail could get in trouble for fighting them. u is better than n. A 2 Z
