Chapter 3 - Hiccup?

Disclaimer: I forgot to put this in to the last couple chapters. Hey! At least I remember it this time! And of course, the characters and HTTYD is owned by DreamWorks, not me. I only own the new characters and the new universe that I created.

Last time…

"HICCUP!"

ERROR

Blackness…

Emptiness…

Darkness…

Where am I?

Nothing…

Silence…

Who am I?

Void…

What am I?

Hiccup.

I… remember now…

I… remember everything now!

But… where am I? Is my eye closed? I… can't feel anything!

"Hello, there." An icy cold voice spoke.

A familiar figure appeared in the middle of the void out of nowhere. He was…

"Who are you?"

"Hey there, don't steal my line. It should be ME, who ask the question first!" The figure stared deeply into my eye, filled with hatred.

"I… am Ton." I stammered.

"Who. Are. You, the REAL you?" He spoke deeply yet quietly, emphasizing the word 'real'.

"I… Hiccup." I muttered out, as if I was a kid that had been caught for stealing.

"The full name, please?" He asked again, with a clear annoyance.

"Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third." I spoke quickly, seeing his murderous ice-blue pearl shining with a shimmer of blood red.

"Hmm… Interesting…" He responded.

"Who are you then?" Picking up my courage, I asked with a shaky voice.

"Who do you think I am?" He smiled, but not in a friendly way.

"How would I know!" I was annoyed.

"Seriously? You can't recognize yourself?" He stared at me, with all trace of having smiled ever before gone.

"My…self?" I asked.

"You're more stupid than I thought…" He sighed.

I don't know how to respond.

"I am Ton." He said dryly.

"Huh?"

"Ton Haddock, the one that you stole the body from." The dark figure stared straight at my eye again with his frightening face.

"Oh… Sorry…" I muttered inaudibly.

"Saying a 'sorry' won't fix anything." He stated without emotion.

I flinched again. "Where… are we?"

"You can't guess it?" He said like I was asking him one plus one equal to what.

I shake my head lightly.

He facepalmed. "You are VERY stupid… What is the last thing you remember before the blackness?" He hinted.

"I… got shot in my head?" I stated unsurely.

"And?" He inquired.

"I… am dead?"

"Bingo! You, or we are dead. I believe this is the void between Death and Life." He said as if it happens all the time.

"Between Death and Life?"

"Something is pulling us from the world of Life, preventing us from death. Not because of your bond towards that… giant… lizard… thingy, but something else." He explained.

"You know about that?" My eye widened.

"I know everything." He spoke softly with a smile on his stone-cold face.

I raised my left eyebrow.

"Come on, we don't have much time left. Let's make a deal." He added.

"A deal?"

"In before, we two consciousnesses were combined together into one, randomly inhabiting our traits. But now, I can feel that we are completely separated, which means that we should went back to having the classic Dissociative Identity Disorder's symptom. Which is…" He explained.

I started recalling the memory during one of the medical class. "The person who have DID will sometimes have 'blank out', which during those time, the personality will be completely different, and after the 'blank out', will not remember what have happened…"

"Yes, and from what I can tell, I'm 90% sure you will be the main personality, and I will be the one who sometimes suddenly pop out." Again, he stated without leaking a single feeling.

"So that's why you want a deal?" I asked.

"Yes. Let's first talk about the benefit that you will have. One, you will be able to see what I see during those time that I am in control. Second, In under no circumstances will I hurt you, your friend and your giant lizard. Third, as long as it doesn't conflict with my goal, I'll never interrupt your plan."

"And?"

"Now to the benefits that I will gain. First, never try and resist my control when I want to. For example, never take those pills that can help stop the 'blank out'. Second, and this is the most important one."

A brief cold wind brushed my face, causing me to shake a bit.

"Allow me to work towards my goal of world domination." He smiled.

"What? World domination! No! Never! I will not allow it! I-" I resisted.

"Do you think this world could continue under the current structure? Do you think humanity could become better without a leader? No. The answer is no. That's why world domination is necessary." He added with his emotionless voice.

"But it's evil! No one should be ruled by anyone! I cannot-" I defended.

"World domination does NOT equal to evil. What I will create is a world full of automation. No one needs to starve. No one needs to work. No one needs to fight. No one needs to die. You can do whatever you want, enjoy whatever you enjoy, as long as it doesn't affect the others. There will be no riches, no poor. Everyone will be equal!"

"Except you! I can't-" I pointed out, but he cut me off.

"This is MY body! MY life! You are just a random dude that decided to steal my time away! You don't even HAVE right to live!" He roared directly at my face.

"But… but…" He is right…

"Well fine, then. Just remember that you might one day woke up with a bloody knife in your hand, staring at a stone-cold body of a black giant lizard with his life essence leaking out of their owner, without a single memory of what have happen…" He turned his head around, threatening with his murderous deep voice.

"No! Stop, please! Fine, I agreed! Just don't hurt Toothless, please!" I pleaded.

"So that's a deal then?" He smirked.

"Deal…"

IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S NOTE:

From now on, BOLD sentences during section of the 'blank out' when Ton is in control, are Hiccup and Ton's exchange when Hiccup review what Ton has done. If you have no idea what I am talking about, then… just forget this ever existed. You believe you will figure it out by yourself! (Hopefully)

5:10pm, Monday, 4/6/2018
Room 001, World A, Q-Linked FRS Quantum Universe Imitation Technology Server, GoE Server Room 12 (Basement Lab, The Kineya Building, Vindos, The United CTIT)

Blackness…

Hiccup tried to move, but something's different… It's like I'm not here…

The now Ton opened his eye, and met the blinding bright light.

Hiccup freaked out. He didn't control his eyelid! He turned his head down, but again, nothing happened. What's happening!?

"Calm down."

He recognized the voice. It was Ton.

"You're just viewing in first person perspective of what happened during the time I was in control. Everything you're seeing, feeling, has already happened. You remember the deal, right?"

As his ice-blue eyes adjusted to the white light everywhere, he noted he was in a pure white room, with a floating sci-fi panel, showing a desktop with an icon of message and an icon of email. In front of the desktop was a pop-out message box with a big triangle pointing to the right.

As he tapped the triangle, a metallic voice seemingly came from everywhere bloomed across the room.

"Welcome back to life, user: Blank, status: Head of GoE. You are currently in Room 001 at World A, just respawned after suffering major brain damage at three minutes and thirty-six seconds ago. If you have any questions, ask away. To enter the main hub, click the 'return' button on the bottom left of your screen or say 'commend, warp main hub'. To open administration panel, type '/admin panel'."

Ton blinked. Well, interesting. "Where am I, exactly?"

Hiccup felt strange hearing the past Ton's thinking, and how unnaturally calm he was. "Why are you… so calm?"

"Dunno, don't care." Ton replied with his emotionless voice.

The voice replied. "You are currently in Room 001 at World A of Quantum-Linked Fatality Recovery System QUIT Server. If you want to know the location of the server, please type '/admin locate %current%'."

"QUIT? What is it?"

"QUIT stands for Quantum Universe Imitation Technology, developed by user Night. It is a simulation technology designed for truly simulating the real world at quantum level with a quantum computer. We are currently using QUIT version 1.105.24961. A version that can be run on a normal computer is currently in beta version 0.615.12215. To access the beta version, type '/admin QUIT Beta'."

That's… Simulating a physical world? Look like my father spent quite a lot of time researching about this. "How me getting back into the real world works?"

"By linking QUIT to a Cubic Quantum Particle Field Disforming and Reforming Construction Device, you will be printed into the real world."

Cubic Quantum Particle Field Disforming and Reforming Construction Device? Is that what I called The Magical Printer? "Thanks, err… who are you?"

"I am Buxiu, Low Level Agent Program of Fatality Recovery System, sub-control of GoE Emergency Response Low Level Intelligent System."

"Thanks, Buxiu. I have somewhere that I need to go to fast, so excuse me for leaving in such hurry."

"I won't mind."

"Commend, warp main hub."

"Have a nice day, user Blank." And with a flash, Ton was gone.

5:10pm, Monday, 4/6/2018
Lobby #01, Main Hub, Lobby QUIT Server, GoE Server Room 02

With the flash gone, a flat white surface stretching out to the horizon, or view distance, appeared into his view.

"Welcome, user Blank, to GoE main hub. You are currently in lobby #01. If you need help, say 'help'."

"Help."

"What can I do for you?"

"Where is the exit?"

"Due to the Lobby world not yet finished, say 'commend, custom commend, Downlink auto'."

Huh, I guess my father haven't finish the lobby server before he died. "Commend, custom commend, Downlink auto."

This time, instead of a flash, a yellow transparent box surrounded his body, with a big red text flashing in front of him saying 'Safety System DISABLED. Keep your body INSIDE of the warning box!'

And then all of a sudden, the view outside of the yellow box changed. As the box faded away, he looked around, instantly recognizing this place as the dead end of the special stairway leading up to his house.

With a moment of thinking, he decided it's finally the time.

Instead of turning around and walking up the booby-trapped stairway, like the serval times since after his father's death, he placed his hand on the small panel on the side of a seemingly dead end.

With a sound of 'beep', the floor started lowering down, descending into a massive open space.

The open space was so huge that even with the thousands and thousands of spotlights hanging from the ceiling of the area, you could neither see the floor or the wall, only the rocky roof he descended from.

"Welcome, to Aperture, inspired by the famous game series, Portal." (*1) The announcement system said.

"Wow, is that the salt mine my father- well, our father, once talked about?"

Slowly, a one-hundred metre square box painted with pure white appeared below him. While the structure seemed to be floating, it was actually hanging from the four beams anchored at the roof.

As the view of the massive opening once again being obstructed by a pure white wall, he stepped off the platform. The room was packed with screens, all turned off. Only the emergency red lights were on. There were many mechanical doors leading to it's hallway, each filled with doors leading to the other rooms.

"Well, look like my dad did some work since the last time I've been here…" Ton muttered to himself.

When Ton was five, his father brought Ton down into the GoE lab. However, the last time he was here, it was only a small room, with one control panel in the centre, with two server rooms and one science lab connected to the room.

"Failed to connect to mainframe. Central Manual Operating System booting in three… two… one…"

A typical boot up sound of Windows XP played, then all screen turned on and combined into one giant display, showing, you guessed it, a Windows XP desktop, filled with hundreds and hundreds of icons.

"Really, dad? You didn't even bother to make a custom operating system? Heck, you should at least upgrade it to Windows 7 or Windows 10!" Ton facepalmed.

A commend prompt automatically opened, allowing Ton to enter commends to the system with the control panels.

Placing his hand on to the keyboard, he started recalling the commends his father once told him and typed it into the system.

With the timer ended, the screens flashed into blackness, then CHAOS kicked in, filling the entire screen with a futuristic earth with space as the background – the logo of GoE.

"Successful startup. Relaunching all offline system… Complete. All system stable. Hello, blank. My name is Chaos. I haven't seen you for a while now. How may I help you?" The AI spoked with an unnatural robotic sound.

"Chaos, reinitiate Phase One." Ton ordered.

"Phase One is already reinitiated since the moment you relaunched me." Chaos informed.

"Good. Prepare to initiate Phase Two."

"Preparation is now started."

"Okay, then. I have something that I have to do quick. I'll be back very soon."

"Okay then. See you later, blank. I'll call the lift."

Stepping on to the platform, he ascended past the massive open space, back to the dead end of the stairway below his house. Walking carefully up to his house, he started feeling that his time is almost up. He had to pass back the control to Hiccup.

"There it is. You will regain control very soon." Ton informed Hiccup.

"I… Ah… Thanks, and sorry." Hiccup said right before he sucked back to the real world. If he had stayed, he would have felt Ton's face tensing up for a moment before going back to his stone-cold emptiness.

(^1) – I'm a big fan of the Portal game, that's why I choose it to be a reference as how my 'Aperture' look. Of course, there will be difference. If you guys have any ideas, feel free to suggest it to me!

A/N: HEY! I'M BACK!

Yea, sorry, but I had to stay in the hospital for two and a half weeks because of a phycological sickness. I'm better now.

In this chapter, there are tons of unusual formatting. Hopefully fanfiction won't mess it all up again. If it did, then… blame !

Lopez20751 / Guy Fawkess: Thanks for your suggestions! I may change the name to that if nothing better comes up.

Dauth12345 and LycanFur, thanks for your support too! You have no idea how much you brighten my days!

Again, if you think there is some concept that you don't quite understand, tell me and I'll clarify it up. A feedback will also help me improve the story! If you have some ideas or scenes that you want to be in this story, feel free to suggest it to me! I have written no plans at all so your ideas may very well be included in the latter chapter!

About the Beta part, the spot is still open! PM me if you want to be this story's Beta!

See you next time then!

Coming up: Chapter 4 – Together…
