Stay by my side

Chapter 4: When hell breaks loose

Authors note: I don't own anything, everything belongs to the lovely J.K. Rowling. I do however own my mistakes. And I'm sorry for not updating in a while, but I hope you like this chapter anyways. I always want to say thank you for all your sweet reviews, it's really motivating to know that you all like this story and I'm not writing just for myself. So, thanks!

Hermione had woken up in the strong arms of Draco Malfoy. And when Hermione lifted his arm up in attempt to free herself from her grip, she found out that he was a very light sleeper.

The moment he realised in what position they were in, his face turned into a sneer and he put as much distant in between as possible.

She briefly wondered where the compassionate guy from last night went to. But what could she honestly expect from him? Why would she actually even expect anything from him?

With a groan she looked at her watch and found out that it was five past six – time to change.

They both stood up and within thirty-five minutes they managed to change into their school uniform and make themselves presentable.

Deciding that they didn't want to be walked in on while using the lavatory, they made their way over to Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom and with a lot of bickering, growling and shifting they both managed to use the toilet in only fifteen minutes.

When they were done and ready they walked through the corridors and Draco suddenly came to a halt, nearly tripping Hermione over.

"What the-?" she said but got cut off by Draco whom switched hands and said with a disgusted face, "You're hand was all sweaty."

Hermione rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath, most likely all kind of offensive comments.

They started walking again and when they walked through the big doors of the Great Hall, all eyes were on them, and instead of curious faces, they saw all kind of disgusted faces and both Hermione and Draco quirked their eyebrow.

Hermione dragged Draco to the Gryffindor table and Ginny gave her a quizzical look while Hermione just stared confused back while placing herself on the bench.

Ginny leaned forward and so did Harry, "Did you two shag last night?" Was all Ginny asked and Hermione stared at her with wide eyes.

"What? No! Of course not!" She said shocked, and above of all, a little too loud. The whole Great Hall was staring at them and was closely listening to what they were saying.

"Lavender and Parvati said they walked in on you two making out." Harry explained and Draco let out a disgusted sound.

"I would never, but I seriously mean never sleep with this ferret." Hermione said, equally disgusted.

Draco jumped in and hissed, "Like I would even want to sleep with you. You filthy little-"

"Mudblood? It's getting rather old, you know. When will you finally come up with something better?" She hissed back and stood up, and Draco jumped up too in anger.

"You're not worth it," he said, their foreheads nearly touching, Draco's face holding a deep sneer, and Hermione's face showed fury.

Without her realising, she felt her hand tingle, and when she had blinked away the angry tears, she saw a red hand print right there on his left cheek.

"Don't ever call me unworthy again." Hermione hissed very slowly, making sure to let every word sink in.

This was the worst moment of her life – never had she wanted to walk away more than right now. Oh, how she wished that she could turn her back on the ferret, not having to look at him, and most of all, not having to hold him.

But yet here she was. Forced to hold hands, forced to watch his eyes lit up with indescribable anger. Her eyes widened slightly and all too fast, too fast for her to process what was happening, she was pushed against the table, his face merely two inches away, he spoke in a very low and slow manner "Don't ever hit me again." He said, his voice in perfect control, keeping eye contact, not even blinking.

Hermione - realising that all eyes were on them - gave Draco a long steel stare, refusing to give in. "Go to hell," she hissed and she was quickly yanked up. She let out a small gasp before getting pulled out of the great hall.

As soon as they made it around the corner she was pushed against the wall and again he was dangerously close to her, bodies pressed together, his face full of anger.

"Don't ever embarrass me like that again." He said threateningly. She was about to say something but Harry interrupted by saying, "Hermione, you all right?" Hermione glanced at her best friend standing in front of them. She couldn't help it, she didn't want to react so snappy against Harry, she knew he was worried, but she was so pissed off because of the ferret she was connected with, that she snarled a quick, "I'm fine!" and walked off, Draco reluctantly following her.

Author's note: I'm sorry it's so short, but I figured it was better to have less than absolutely nothing. I hope you enjoyed it anyways and just so you know, this little fight had to happen for future progress.
