Jeremy left the Pizzeria early along with Nick, they both headed towards the nearest coffee shop. Jeremy was still a bit traumatized by Foxy's sudden attack. While the young boy was thinking about the dreadful first night he heard Nick came back with their breakfast.
"You alright there?" He asked while sitting in front of Jeremy. "I bet you could use take some waffles right now," Jeremy snorted.
"This ain't funny Nick!If I haven't dodge Foxy I would've been crushed to death!"
Jeremy's yell was driving unwanted attention from the very few customers around.
"Keep quiet kid, no need to make a fuss about it, I get it okay?" Nick responded urgently while looking around. "We're here exactly to discuss what happened. I'm gonna be honest here...I know as much as you do about why all this crazy stuff is happening with the animatronics. I heard about the previous night guard complain about something that wasn't implicit when he was contracted, though I had no idea what he complained about. But now everything makes sense, and still doesn't."
"They're supposed to do that?Walk around during night?I mean...I wouldn't mind if they stop making it in a way to creep me out," Jeremy said holding his cup of coffee firmly. He was still running on too much adrenaline.
"Creep you out?" Nick raised an eyebrow at confusion. "What do you mean?"
"Nick, they know what the cameras are for, they know I'm watching them, and every time I switched cameras I found one animatronic staring straight at me while standing still. They keep changing rooms and making pretty clear they're getting closer to my office, it's almost as if this was some kind of sadistic game, in which they let very clear they're coming to get me."
Nick stared severely at his friend's terrified expression. He knew Jeremy was dead serious about it, but still didn't explain lots of other things.
"Hum...I really can't explain that, and even the fact one of the older models was actually walking around an-
"Walking? He just rushed and flew at me!"
"Jeremy!Quiet, okay?Gez...yes, that's just an animatronic doing way more than it should, and also could explain why Foxy's legs suit is gone, he must have run around before lots of times and the suits were not made for an animatronic to run with."
"How many older models there is besides Foxy?" Jeremy asked suddenly. Nick frowned while thinking.
"From what I know...maybe four more, I'm not really sure. But...do you remember what Foxy said?" Jeremy shakes his head. "He attacked you because he though you were one of the new ones."
"Yeah, but how can he confuse me with an endoskeleton?" Jeremy asked while waving his hand frenetically. "If I was one of the new models I surely wouldn't look like an naked robot."
At this Nick had to think a bit more carefully, there was a point in Jeremy's words after all. If Foxy was after new models, why to attack Jeremy if the pirate fox only saw him as an endoskeleton without suit?Unless...
"Actually...one of the newer models isn't exactly in a very good shape, actually is even worse than Foxy," Nick said while slowly eating his waffles. Jeremy eyed him intrigued.
"How so?" Nick took a moment to answer.
"Remember the animatronic in Kid's Cove?" Jeremy took few seconds to gather his memories before answering.
"The...what was the name?"
"It's called Toy Foxy, it's a...replacement for the old pirate Foxy, but..." Nick visibly tensed up. Jeremy took notice of this instantly.
"What?"
"I though that animatronic was male, but it's actually female."
"What?!That thing is a 'she'?" Jeremy asked astonished. Nick nodded.
"I've been fixing her the whole night, only managed to find out when I got the damn voice box to work. Speaking of that it seems there was some kind of radio inside of her, I have no idea why, it's not suppose to be there anyways."
"Radio?Isn't that what the phone guy talked about?" Jeremy pondered aloud with himself.
"Phone guy?Who's this phone guy you talking about?" Nick asked being even more puzzled.
"Right at midnight I received a call from, if it's correct what Mr. Fazbear said before leaving, the previous night guard. But then this guy was not the previous night guard at all. He refereed himself as he was some kind of manager or something, and talked about the other guy that finished his first week. I got quite confused by this and wh-"
Jeremy spent twenty minutes explaining in details everything he was told about from the phone guy. By the very end of it Nick was extremely concerned by this.
"I'm not going to lie to you Jeremy, but...this guy, whoever he is, doesn't sound like he works at the pizzeria at all. Or at least talks in a way to think he's from the outside, that he doesn't have any real interactivity with what happens inside the Pizzeria, and I would have no problem calling him a damn liar if I could."
Jeremy was afraid this would happen, but then what could he do?It's not like he could just quit the job, he really need it!
"So what I do Nick?I wonder how the other guy got past first week without being aware of all this crazy stuff happening, I mean...he didn't even had the mask at that time for sure. How come the animatronics did not get him?"
Nick let out a heavy sigh, he had no idea. There's so much that did not made any sense in this at all, and to think he knew how the animatronics worked. He chuckled with himself.
"We should talk with him once he arrives the pizzeria, day shift will start in few minutes, we can go back and look for him," Nick took notice of how very hesitant Jeremy was about that idea. "I don't think you're under any danger by the animatronics Jeremy, at least not during day time."
"I hope you're right," Jeremy said in a whisper.
They left the coffee shop after a brief conversation, Jeremy still kept insisting about doing something that could assure him more safety against the animatronics.
"Look, what we can do is lock the vents, but that would require a lot of handwork and and time. About the main entrance there's nothing we can do aside making it smaller somehow, it's not like I can build a wall with a door just for your convenience,"
"Convenience?!It's about keeping me safe Nick!I don't think I can fight them off, or can I?!" Jeremy retorted angrily. Nick let out a sigh of exasperation.
"Look, I'll take a look over one of the animatronics, you'll come with me and maybe we can get a hand of why they're going after you during night, okay?"
"How so?On day time all of the animatronics will be performing, and I don't think I want to enter at Parts & Service with a whole bunch of old creeping robots at all."
"Heh, I'll finish working over the animatronic I spent the night repairing. I need Mr. Fazbear to provide me with her 'animal' parts so I can finish her up. For that reason Kid's Cove is closed today."
At this Jeremy felt a bit more relaxed while they entered the pizzeria. It was quite empty during the morning, normally it was all about getting the place organized and ready for the parties schedule for the day. Most people seen here was only staff and maybe few adults asking for a free day to celebrate someone's birthday.
Still this didn't stop the animatronics from being lively active at the stage. Much to Jeremy's concern they stared towards his direction, it was hard for him to tell what they were up to. For Jeremy's surprise the animatronics turned around and ignored him.
Except for the blue bunny.
He kept staring at him a while longer, his green eyes slowly studying the young man's face. Jeremy felt that gaze upon him quite unnerving. Even Nick took notice of this odd behavior.
After what seemed an eternity the bunny finally looked away, but Jeremy would've sworn the bunny glanced at him few times while he wasn't looking.
Nick and Jeremy made their way to Kid's Cove, the engineer stopped briefly at the door while talking with one of the members of the staff.
"...yeah, just the old fixing, you know?Making sure it will able to last much longer, you folks could at least try to avoid the animatronic getting overrun by kids like always happens."
"Yeah, I get ya Nick. Still it's too hard to keep track of things with so many kids running around and yelling. We need to make sure no one goes missing, I prefer to make sure of that than checking over Mangle all the time."
"Mangle? So that's her name?" Jeremy asked all of sudden while staring at the animatronics at stage, the blue bunny still glancing at him once in a while. Jeremy tried to fight the urge to go towards the stage and yell like a mad man accusing and offensive words towards the robot.
The member of the staff raised an eyebrow while looking at Jeremy.
"Not sure if a she, and who are you by the way?" He asked while organizing one of the nearest tables.
"Oh, huh John, this is Jeremy, he works as security guard during night shift," Nick said quickly while unlocking the door of Kid's Cove." I'll be inside, I'll be waiting you Jeremy," He said before getting inside and closing the door.
John stared surprised at Jeremy.
"Night guard?Wow, you have some guts to work here during night, I would be creep out if I had to watch over those things just by myself," He said with a faint laugh.
'You have no idea' Jeremy though while chuckling slightly. "Yeah, but ain't that bad. I didn't know there were more animatronics back at Parts & Service room,"
"Oh, those ones," John said frowning at bit while pondering over the subject. "Yeah, from the old location, at least that's what I heard, hard to believe they keep them after so long. They say they keep them for spare parts, but I find it odd since the new ones aren't much alike despite being based on their originals. Most if the parts must be incompatible, even Nick said that ain't much he can get to use from them."
"Have you worked on the previous location?" Jeremy asked on pure curiosity. He felt like it wasn't only the bunny staring at him now.
"During it's last week, but..." John paused slightly, his face hardening considerably. "...things didn't went well, and after some incidents they were forced to close for few months. I'm thankful the boss kept me around and gave me a new chance at this re-opening. Also I never saw the animatronics in the brief time I worked there."
Jeremy nodded silently while thinking on few other questions floating into his mind.
"It's the day guard here?I heard he worked on night shift before me, I wanted to ask him few questions,"
John shrugged while setting plates over different tables.
"Not yet, he normally comes around a bit before the first scheduled parties, he got nothing to do coming so early so boss said he could get some extra time to sleep I guess, what about you?You shouldn't be home sleeping?"
"Huh?" Jeremy stared blinking at confusion. "Oh, yes, but I had to check on few things first to make sure I get no surprises for the next nights," John eyed him suspiciously.
"What kind of surprises?" Jeremy realized it was not a good idea to talk around such subject with other employees, and especially because he could feel the chill on his neck that meant that all the animatronics at stage were staring towards him.
"Oh, no big deal, just some machines turning on and off all of sudden, maybe they have some timer that makes them to turn on, and they do a lot of noise," Jeremy said while sounding a bit tired.
"Heh, I got ya, that would've scared me for good if I was there. Well, take your time, I see you around Jeremy, and welcome to Freddy's Fazbear Pizzeria."
"Yeah, thanks, see ya around," The young men said before entering Kid's Cove, he shot a quick glance at the stage, but the animatronics were in their original spots as if they were still inactive. 'Bunch of creeps'
When Jeremy closed the door and turned around he saw Nick standing aside the animatronic he's been busy repairing. Judging by it's current state he could tell it was almost completely fixed, except for the obvious fact it was missing the parts that represented her animal characteristics and also would hide the endoskeleton structure.
"Well, she looks fine, I just need the covering and she'll be ready to act again. I've been looking into some papers and I must have confused things a bit," Nick said while adjusting something on the animatronic's back.
"What would that be?" Jeremy asked while looking at the animatronic's head. It became quite obvious she seemed some sort of canine, which reminded Jeremy that she was designed to be fox-like. Her golden eyes moved around smoothly as if studying the environment, and when she saw Jeremy her mouth contorted into a smile, which amazed Jeremy to no end.
"Hi, I'm Foxy. What's your name?" She asked. Jeremy felt his jaw drop at the shock. The voice felt so human! Nick saw his reaction and let out a hearty laugh.
"Quite a much better voice-box, huh?Heh, boss it's not going to believe it, can't wait to see his face. He'll be begging me to do the same with the others."
"It's awesome," Jeremy said while studying the animatronic. "My name's Jeremy, but...I though your name was Mangle."
At this the fox seemed to have lost a bit of her happy face, she no longer smiled.
"Yes, but that was because of what they've done to me, I no longer wished to be called that. I don't want it to happen again," She said sounding quite sad.
Jeremy stared at Nick amazed.
"Wow, Nick. I can actually feel the sadness in her voice! How did you do that?" But when he saw Nick's mortified expression Jeremy felt a chill going over his spine.
"I didn't...and I think we should leave it at that," He said sounding quite serious. Jeremy slowly nodded while looking around nervously. The animatronic seemed to have pick an interest over the young man.
"Jeremy, you look young, but you don't seem like a kid and you don't look old like the others either, what are you?" She asked while observing him carefully. This surprised Jeremy a bit.
"Oh, I'm something between an adult and a kid, it's called teenager,"
"Teenager," She repeated the word as if pondering over it. "What does a teenager do?"
Nick started laughing madly at the back. Jeremy felt like he really didn't know, or wanted to, answer that.
"Heh, not much. I think I can say we're immature as children but do the same things most adults do."
Foxy seemed even more curious and actually moved forward to look around the young men, Jeremy almost got freak out by that, in the mean time Nick cursed under his breath.
"Dang Foxy, don't move while I'm working on you!I don't want to mess anything up ,that might cost me more hours to repair,"
"Sorry," She said while looking quickly at Nick with sad eyes. Jeremy could only admire how fascinating that was, and Nick felt a bit taken aback by her reaction.
"Uh...sure, just...be careful,"
"Foxy, can I ask you something?" Jeremy said getting in front of her to gain her attention, which was unnecessary since only talking would've been enough.
"What is it?" She asked while tilting her head to the side like a puppy dog, Jeremy tried his best to not think how cute that was.
"Err...about the other animatronics...do you know why they chase after me during night?"
A deep silence filled the room. Both Nick and Jeremy watched expectantly for Foxy to react, but it took minutes for her to respond.
"Well...it's their game,"
Jeremy felt like he was about to explode at fury, while Nick frowned hard at this.
"Game? What game?!How can be to scare someone to death be considerate a game?!" Nick asked rather accusingly towards Foxy. She seemed a bit taken a back by the outburst. It was not into her programming to react to such anger or hate, still she could be surprised to see something she never have seen before and be unsure of how to proceed.
"I never really understood the game itself, but they said it was something they had to do. But I don't understand the question, I never saw you before, why you say we scare Jeremy if he's never been playing with us?"
"This was my first night here, I'm the new security guard at night shift, I'm the one who your friends were trying to kill!"
"Jeremy calm down, I don't want anyone from staff to get in here and make questions," Nick said urgently.
Foxy stood there quietly while processing everything they said to her. She couldn't figure it out why Jeremy or Nick were angry, and even how to react to such emotion she rarely saw before.
She played with kids many times, and even if she was torn apart that would make the kids happy, and as long the kids were happy everything was alright.
Jeremy seemed to dislike her friends, but he claimed to be chased by the game they made. But that was unlikely, the only thing they chased after was the endoskeleton. Jeremy said he had his first night as security guard, but then Foxy didn't came out last night, therefore she did not saw him. There was no way he could be telling the truth unless Foxy talked with her friends. It there was something she learned was how to deal with kids, and kids tend to lie quite much.
"Maybe I should talk with the others, but I doubt they were after anything that wasn't the endoskeleton,"
"And the endoskeleton must be sitting at the office at the end of the hall every night, isn't that right?" Jeremy asked with a hint of sarcasm. Foxy blinked.
"So you've been playing with the others?" She asked sounding surprised.
"I WASNT PLAYING YOU DAMN FREAK!I WAS THE ENDOSKELETON THEY WERE TRYING TO MURDER!"
Before Jeremy could yell for any longer Nick quickly slapped him at the back of the head and ordered him to keep quiet. Jeremy mumbled something under his breath while looking away angrily.
Foxy stood still watching the young men walking around nervously. His outburst caught her off-guard, but his answer seemed what really made her processors go crazy.
"Y-you?" She asked. Jeremy and Nick both stare at her in shock. Did she just stutter?Or was that a glitch in her voicebox?
"Yes, me, now do me a favor and talk with them to stop doing that. If they don't believe me just tell them to go into the office without sneaking around. It's not like I can stop them from coming in anyway," Jeremy said dejectedly.
"Okay, but we might have a problem to do that, one of the old animatronics have a great dislike over us, especially me," She said while crossing her arms and staring severely at both of them.
"Which one?And why he dislike of you guys?" Nick asked being quite curious about this.
"The older fox model, he hates me," Foxy said, her voice trembling at the though. "Much more than the others, he can't stand the fact we walk around freely while they're gathering dust at that dark room. He refuses to be throw aside like scrap, we fear he might come during day sometime. For some reasons he didn't yet."
"Does the other old models have something against you and your friends?" Nick asked while adjusting the joints on her arms, especially after the terrible noise they made after Foxy crossed them.
"Not really, they actually behave rather neutrally with us, but they can't control Foxy. Sometimes they also come out to play the game,"
"What?!So I'll have to worry about those creppy old things going after me too?!" Jeremy said getting pale all of sudden.
"Yes," Foxy's answer was quite short and simple making Jeremy livid. Nick let out a heavy sigh.
"We'll see what to do about it, perhaps after the incident today the old Fox might leave Jeremy alone. Hopefully he'll remember what happened and only focus on getting the newer models," Nick said while gathering his tools. Foxy didn't like much of hearing that.
"What I'm supposed to do?I can't do nothing to help Jeremy aside talking with the others, I'm not sure they'll believe me, and I don't want to go down the hall if the old Foxy's coming out again. He'll rip me apart the moment he sees me," She said as if complaining about looking after the young men.
"You don't have to go to the office if you don't want to," Jeremy said quickly. He could understand if she was worried, despite the fact she was a robot. "Just see if you can get the other to leave me alone and I'll be fine, that's all."
Foxy nodded and moved to her corner where she she used to perform. Nick and Jeremy waved a goodbye at her before walking out and locking Kid's Cove door.
"I'll unlock it before leaving this afternoon. Let's hope she keeps up with her word. In the mean time you better go home and get some sleep Jeremy, I have my own reasons to believe things will just get really messed up from now on." Nick said while walking away to the stage.
Jeremy nodded slightly before walking towards the exit. He quickly glanced towards the stage. All the animatronics were following his movements with their eyes.
'Bunch of creeps'
