Yusei: Looks like the public has spoken. Oh well. Welcome to the Amazing Deku.

Serena: Oh, by the way, the first three chapters' initials spell out a pretty cool word if you pronounce it a certain way.

Chapter 4: Being a Vigilante is Hard

What do Quirk wielding kids do when they have time away from school? Probably stay at home and play video games, hang out with friends down at the mall, and/or go see a movie on a date – kids do that. What does a Quirk wielding kid who can't do either of those things and wants to make his city a better place?

"Stop that guy!" Stop people like him, a man riding a bike blurring past everyone in his way. He brushes by an old lady knocking her over, never stopping.

A black and green person lands just in front of him, hanging onto a thin string from above. He waves, saying, "Hey there. Can you hold onto this for a sec?" Presenting the string in front of him, the new guy fires webbing to stick the string onto the blue of his shirt. The guy then bungees upward caught like a fly. "When your mom said stealing was bad, this is why!"

As the Spiderman sits the bike to the side, he jumps away on the side of the wall. From above he watches as another person comes by. Giving him a thumbs up, he swings away. "Thus begins my good deeds."

He begins swinging through the air, spotting a girl getting robbed by people. Seeing it, he makes a u-turn landing in front of those same thieves. With a polite quip of, "Now you know that doesn't belong to you," he holds a hand out enticing them. "So if you don't mind handing it over, this won't have to get painful."

"Get lost!" shouts the first guy, who takes out a bat and begins swinging. Spidey grabs the bat and crunches the wood into splinters, spreading fear throughout their hearts. They drop the stuff they stole and run away, prompting the arachnid boy to pick up the wallet and approach the lady.

"Here you go. I think this is yours." The lady looks down at her purse, before taking it quickly and running away.

"You're welcome," he says before turning his eyes to his surroundings. Groaning, he leaps up and climbs the wall, trying to ignore what just happened. "What was that about? Is the mask scary or something? Cause that was not a good first impression."

Spider-Man checks his phone after landing on the side of a building, finding someone has left a message for him. "Uh-oh. It's Yaoyorozu." Knowing she's expecting a call, he climbs higher with his free hand and mouth exposed. "Yaoyorozu?"

"It's fine to call me Momo."

"I'm not…really confident in that yet." Hopefully, this call ends soon enough so he can keep moving. Not that he hates having to talk to her, but his senses can go off at any second.

"Deku," that gives a cringe, "are you going to be out all day doing that?"

"Well, I need the practice."

"How many times a day do you expect someone to be robbed?"

"I don't just do that; I also give directions and look out for others, no matter how much they think I'm a threat."

"Oh good. You're going for this friendly neighbor thing. Well, be safe!"

"Bye!" Finally free, he slides his phone onto the slot behind his belt with a faint redness on his cheeks. "Her voice was so close…"

Jumping down he spots some lady has dropped her wallet. He picks it up and hands it to her, saying, "Ma'am, you dropped your wall-"

"Oh, thank you, sir!" In a surprise twist of fate, he flinches almost dropping her item. She pulls it back in midair with an apologetic bow. "I can't believe I dropped that; I need to be more careful."

"It's cool mom- er, I mean, ma'am!"

She narrows her eyes slightly. "You… sound familiar."

"No, I don't!" He quickly swings away before she can ID him, and she can. He wipes his head of whatever sweat is present, saying, "Guess filtering my voice doesn't work on people who've known me for life."

His actions continue until nightfall, a slow and uneventful day for the most part. Staring out from the top of a building, the neon violet keeps him in secret as he eats a sandwich staring out at the darkening city. Looking out he sees many people going about their twilight evening, waving to whoever saw him.

After taking the time to replace his web capsules in each shooter, he hears the sounds of crashing and destruction. Sliding those empty capsules into his utility belt, he swings onto the scene.

In the realm of destruction, cars compile on top of the other. People run away screaming from the blue behemoth causing havoc, a rhino man the size of a tank whose red eyes give no semblance of calm. His eyes bear witness to the Rhino – excellent name – tossing a car in the air, which he catches in a web.

"Bring me All Might!" Bellowing in the wind under the orange glow of the setting sun, the man clenches his three fingers into a fist punching a car. The longer his hand lays on it, the more it starts to crunch, the more the people trapped inside scream for mercy.

"Hey, lay off ya turtle!" Rhino lifts his head when he hears that jab and gets kicked in the face by the swinging spider. Landing on top of a fire hydrant, he crouches on all fours glaring. "That car is not your eating disorder!"

"What are you supposed to be?" He rears his horn down and charges to impale him.

Jumping, Spidey swings to a wall as the hydrant goes flying. Water erupts into a geyser sprinkling down on the blue hide. "If you don't wanna get squashed get lost! The only one who can defeat me is All Might!"

Spidey flexes his fingers, remembering the feel of his foot on his body. He's gonna need something heavier or smarter to take him down.

Sirens nearby take him out of his musing, as police cars stop surrounding the Rhino and him. "Alright! The boys in blue!"

"Both of you, deactivate your Quirks and stand down! You're both under arrest," speaks an officer as cops get out aiming their pistols and shotgun.

'Wait, me too? Oh right, vigilante.'

"How stupid are you pigs?" Rhino begins charging, and bullets quickly fire.

Like raindrops on an umbrella, the bullets bounce off as he pierces through a car and sends two officers flying. The Rhino then raises his horn smashing through a police car, before punching an officer in front of him. Coming before another cop knocked over he raises his foot.

"No!" That fire hydrant from earlier smashes into his head, only denting on the Rhino's skull. "Leave them alone!" he says atop his back.

"Alright. I'll play with you instead!" He reaches back for him as he jumps away, grabbing his leg.

Spidey laments as he gets slammed into the car and then the pavement before thrown to a wall. There others watching the fight verbally awe as Spidey struggles to stand, costume torn in certain parts. Back on his feet, his senses trigger when the Rhino charges for him now. This is not his night.

Sliding to the left he pushes the civilians aside, leaving him gripped and taking through the wall with the villain. Thrown aside, the spider groans as he lays face up. "You should have stayed out of this, bug."

He kicks our arachnid hero aside into a car, who remains in pain as he rests against it. 'Gotta get up.' Rhino kicks back on the ground, before making his charge.

Spidey braces for impact. Waiting. Waiting.

When nothing came about, he opens his eyes to his awe. "It must have been scary for you holding against this thing. But there's no need to fear anymore."

No way.

"BECAUSE I AM HERE!" Shocked to the bone, All Might has actually arrived to save the day, holding the Rhino back with a single hand. A single push sends the blue mammal back through that hole.

"Now if you will do yourself a favor and surrender quietly," begins the Symbol of Peace as Rhino gets back up, "you won't get hurt anymore."

"You call that 'hurt'?!" he barks, getting himself ready for a charge again. "My skin is the hardest of all! You ain't-"

"CAROLINA SMASH!" After these words were spoken, winds of pressure explode out of Rhino's back. The bigger man stumbles backward with a mighty thud, who groans as he lies unconscious.

Having managed to recover, Spidey gets up to see the extent of All Might's power up close. Despite everything he tried, he couldn't leave a dent on that hide. "Amazing… All Might is strong as always!"

"That's a nice thing to say, and now for you." All of a sudden he feels danger. His dial goes up to eleven when All Might turns around to face the young hero. "You're coming with me."

Despite that smile, Spidey knows this is a serious matter. "For…"

"'Those who use their Quirks outside of what is permitted by law will be perceived as a villain and dealt with as such,' though I'd prefer not having to resort to harming someone who stuck his head out to defend the police and others so earnestly." Defeated by the fiery words of his compassionate self, Spidey quickly swings away. "Why does he think he can run?"

All Might makes a kneel, and dashes through the air. He spots the vigilante making a turn and adjusts his speed to do so as well, only to come across a surprising scene. "Eh?"

He's gone. The spider person he was chasing for five seconds disappeared from his field of vision. Taking to higher ground, no sighting even on the roofs. "A clever ploy indeed…"

Once All Might goes back to the scene of the crime, the cost becomes clear. Reality shifts in colors as the black and green of Spider-Man's uniform return to view. "My camouflage ability works absolutely great; can fool even the eyes of a pro. But…"

He looks back thinking back on the events of ten minutes ago. He may never feel the same way about All Might now. Now would be a good time to retire, by going back home. "Better get my backpack."

Sneaking from roof to roof without using his webs, he continues to the location he hid his civilian clothes, hidden at the top of a water tower. Each movement through the half lit darkness brings to mind his thoughts on what happened to him back then. Izuku can't worry about that out in the open.

Tomorrow…

Izuku sits in bed reading. Well, that's actually a lie. He's actually laying back in a hammock made of spider webs. "Hmm…"

While afloat, he checks himself. "Why do I enjoy this so much? Must be because of the spider." He reads a certain piece that he marks with a pen, saying, "That's probably what the essay is looking for."

Hearing a knock on his door, he tosses the book aside quickly and rips down the hammock quickly. He tosses it under his bed before saying, "Come in," and in steps his mother. "Mom, what's up?"

"I just wanted to remind you that I'll be going out today. Take care of yourself," she says worriedly.

"Mom, I'll be fine," he says, holding that can successfully pacify her.

"I just want you to be okay." She states. She then makes her exit saying, "Good day," before closing the door.

Gone, Izuku sighs before rebuilding a new spider hammock and crawling inside. "I better get back to work. This homework won't write itself."

Though as he reads, his mind returns back to last night. Unable to drown himself in imagination, he just keeps remembering how helpless he was against that thick-skinned brute. "If All Might didn't show up, would I have lived through that?"

As he returns to the life of a regular student, elsewhere in Musutafu a police officer enters the Metropolitan Police Department. He takes a seat in a room sitting before a scrawny man with blond hair in secret. There is a certain thickness of metaphorical intensity.

"So nice to have you back here Yagi," speaks the officer, his plain face conjuring a smile.

"No problem, Tsukauchi," says the blond hero in response. "I've been meaning to speak with you again, especially after last night's fracas." His tiny blue eyes narrow downward. "How is our Rhino buddy?"

Tsukauchi takes out a file he pulled along the way. "Sai Araku, arrested three years ago on three accounts of damaging public property, by you. He was released before and hasn't done much since, until last night's incident. Witnesses say he wanted to fight you, for reasons he has been explicitly vocal to share. You'll be surprised to hear."

The most surprising is to hear that coming from his mouth. "Apparently, he's been told that you were getting weaker, and was eager to get revenge on you."

"He had a tough hide, but even if I had weakened that wouldn't be too hard to crack." Tsukauchi slides the file over. Reading it over he sees that the report details information about Rhino and last night's event. "I wouldn't be surprised if there was indeed someone trying to actively get rid of me, but if someone told him then there's another person controlling this Rhino…"

The detective sighs solemnly. "Another thing is the vigilante who held up against him."

"That's right; he's that little spitfire who's been on the news lately, Spider-Man," says the off-duty hero while he checks the photo taken about him. "I asked around, and according to eyewitnesses, he's been doing small things for others. I'd be impressed if he wasn't breaking the law; hell, I'm still impressed from what I've seen and heard from others."

"You asked about him?" The skeletal male smiles, despite his normal friend's serious tone. "Look, I'm not against people doing the right thing, but when someone breaks the law to do it they're still wrong."

"We've had plenty of vigilantes who have acted behind the scenes."

"But none of them are as public as him, nor do their abilities and movements match the level professional heroes can muster. Spider-Man can't be allowed to act against crimes, less his actions inspire others to think wrong."

"I know." Toshinori Yagi sits up, adjusting his suit. "I'd like to look into this."

"That's okay." Tsukauchi's cheeks brighten. "We have someone out there for this spider."

Later…

That night, Izuku places his books aside before folding down his laptop. "There we go." He then glances over at his backpack, thinking.

"Well, a two-hour run could be constructive." He takes out his backpack and swaps his clothes with his uniform, before jumping out the window.

Once blocks away from his apartment, he swings into the streets of the city glancing down. Landing on the side of a building, he leans along the wall staring down. With a sigh, he thinks back to when he fought against that rhino man, fists tightening.

"I really hope I don't fight against…no, that's wrong. I can't choose who I have to stop." Forcefully injecting himself with more confidence, he discerns a strange sight heading towards a bank just up ahead. Normally that wouldn't be wrong, except it's from the roof.

The figure is dressed in black leather, from what he can tell, which has white fluff on her collar. Her gloves are the same shade of ice white, including her hair. She wears shoes of the same blanch shade as well.

Seeing her he assumes a label on her. "A burglar…" he says before jumping and swinging to her roof. There he climbs up to the top as quietly as possible, watching her climb inside a duct. "I could go in after her, but instead…"

He swings down to the bank and enters through to the front, knowing that he can't go further in, before climbing up to disable the security camera. It's one of those glass doors that shows the inside of the banks, where comfortable chairs and counters can be seen. He can even spot marble floors.

Knowing that she's inside, he watches from the glass. Eventually, he spots her dipping down from one of the ducts, walking back to the vault beyond his sights. Without making himself known, he watches as she eventually comes out with a briefcase. She then climbs up the ducts to escape.

"That's my cue." He heads to the top, catching her just as she reaches and exits the air vents. "Stop right there!"

"Oh?" she speaks, her voice a seductive trance. "What do we have here? A spider trying to catch a cat."

"Put back the money, and no one gets hurt," he says to her. Though the longer he looks, the more he sees the detail of her outfit; the darkness on her body is so tightly held that every last curve and muscle isn't left to the imagination. Even the front is exposing cleavage the way only a tight suit can hold.

"And you'll be the one who does the hurting?" she questions, walking towards him. Each step twists and turns her waist in a way he couldn't ignore. Luckily his mask is on.

"Y-You don't want to fight me."

"Now now." She places a finger to his lips. "Cats don't fight spiders." Her foot plants into his stomach, sending him backward. "We just bat them around."

She spins in the air to throw another kick, but he jumps to the side on all fours as she slips to the edge. He fires a web line at the briefcase and yanks it away. 'Nice shot cutie.'

"Who said that?!" He suddenly says, having heard a voice in his head. This distracts him enough before he could react to his spider-sense, and gets pushed to the floor as the briefcase slides over. "What did you do?"

"Distraction." She stretches her hand back, claws retracting. She rears them back to swipe, but he kicks her off with both legs before flipping to all fours. 'You're a lot stronger than you look, Spider-Man.'

"Get out of my head!"

"How about I just get out of here?" Before she could escape, he webs her up tied together before pulling her down.

"Gotcha." He then goes over to grab the briefcase. "I'll be taking this and you to the authorities."

"Don't count on it, little spider," she speaks, once again in his head. 'Or did you forget you didn't clip my claws?'

"Please, no cat puns."

"What pun?" Hearing this from his ears, he turns around quickly before getting hit by a needle. Pierced, he groans as he stumbles over on his back.

He tries to move, only to feel his muscles no more than dead weight."What happened?"

"Muscle relaxing paralysis needle." She walks over to the fallen spider, crouching down before his head. "I always keep them on hand for situations like this, and to get some info out of certain targets of interest. The paralysis is ten minutes, just long enough for me to do this." She reaches out for his mask.

"No, stop! You can't take my mask off!"

"Can't I?" She grabs his mask and prepares to pull. Before so, her body shakes from the vibrating phone. She checks out a message. "Well, looks like you got lucky."

She strolls over to the briefcase and picks it up. At the edge of the building, she fires a grappling hook at the nearest building. "Hope to see you again, little spider. The name's Black Cat."

She then swings away, leaving him deadweight where he lies. "Well, that could have gone worse." His finger twitches, adding more to his surprise.

Elsewhere down below, Black Cat lands in an alleyway. She opens the briefcase, revealing nothing inside but a velvet pelt inner lining. "Next time, Spider-Man. But right now, it's time this kitty hunted a bigger target."

And with that, she disappears into the darkness.

Kei: We've finally ended this chapter, and as if by some miracle, this story is finally revived.

Everyone Else: NO THANKS TO YOU!

Kei: Eh?!

Serena: Next chapter, Izuku gets a little surprise from UA as his class takes a trip. We'll work on more chapters, but first, we need to see a movie.
