Disclaimer: You know the drill, if I owned Yugioh, shit would go down. If I owned anything else I may mention, I wouldn't be writing fanfiction….well…maybe, this stuff is addicting.

Chapter 4: Knowing You Again (Part 1)

Sitting there, in the nearly empty brown cushioned booth, Yugi couldn't help but wonder why, even after he'd finished eating, he'd still sat there, sipping on his iced coffee. Really he should have wanted to bail as soon as he'd got all of that enchanting cake down. But, instead, he proceeded to take his time in sipping on the bittersweet drink, letting the caramel melt over his pallet. He could have eaten his fill then left the fine establishment with his drink in hand if he'd wanted to; but something told him he should stick around.

He hadn't meant to seek out the two numskulls that he'd found so infatuating, and lord knows he hadn't wanted to have his mind on them all damn day. But, watching them work around all these porn star wanna-be women was flaring up a deep emotion within him. Not understanding what it all meant, he decided to investigate the scenarios that caused him to feel this way; unfortunately, doing so made it worse.

Whenever Yami would lean down to give the customer their order, leaving himself vulnerable to his coddling customers, women would slither their long snake like finger all over his arms before distracting him with a sickeningly sweet thank you while they 'not so secretly' felt up his triceps.

Honestly, the sight made Yugi sick. He knew there were good women in the world, truly, he did; but those women were either sitting in an office, at work, or were married with kids to take care of. These bitches obviously had some financially secure, daddy's little girl shit going on; and that just let Yugi know that this was probably one of the most humiliating jobs you could get next to being a stripper.

At times, he could see the women at the front counter, where Atemu was, adjusting themselves to look better for him; some even pulling out makeup kits and what looked to be mini curling irons that could only be from the desperation collections in the department stores. Yugi could smell their lust from where he was sitting and it seemed to fill the whole god damn coffee shop to the brim with its force.

Yugi was pretty sure Atemu, with his shy nature and slightly timid attitude, wasn't into this and was probably scared to death. But, what tipped Yugi off was that the tanned male didn't look any more uncomfortable than usual; kind of like he was used to the treatment or something.

Leaning into one of him hands while drinking his beverage, Yugi wondered why these two would work in a place like this. It was a lovely café, the welcoming atmosphere was inviting, and from what Yugi'd paid for that cake, this job paid pretty well; but he couldn't help but feel…wrong about what they were doing.

They both did their jobs very well, Atemu worked his coffee machines like an even more passionate machine, and it always came out perfect, even when it looked like he was doing it sloppily, it never was. And his cooking, from Yugi's own experience, would have the lord taking him from this world for his own gain. Yugi wouldn't mind coming here every day if he got to eat that heavenly cake again; even now when he'd eaten five pieces and was perfectly satisfied, the taste of the treat taunted him and made him want more.

Yami, however, even while he only worked the tables, moved around like a trained figure skater. At first, the fact that the man actually had to wear skates amused Yugi; but when he saw how gracefully Yami moved around with them on he could hardly complain. Glided around tables like they were the obstacles in the way of his future and passing out I.O.U.N.F.U. stickers at every curve, his toned muscles screaming against the fabric of his clothing, his energetic half smile, putting the sunlight reflecting of it to shame, and his eyes so enticingly hard and focused Yugi nearly choked on a straw full of caramel when I he tried to look directly into them.

Who was he kidding? Yugi'd probably have to be blind as hell not to stare…

Nope.

Not even then.

He'd hot glue googly eyes in his head before he missed this.

When Yami came around to give him his bill he tried to play it off cool, not wanting to let Yami know he wasn't exactly planning on leaving so soon; but to his surprise, the man had leaned in very close to him, the sweat from all his hard work glistening on his as a polite hello, afore he placed a harmless little slip of paper on the table and slid it in front of Yugi with delicately slow precision; the way he was going about the situation, it seemed.

Refusing to show face and accept the fact that he was glad to have the man so close to him again, he glared at the slip and then frowned, shifting his gaze right back to those piercing red eyes. "What's this? A love note? Shouldn't getting my phone number have been enough?" He asked slyly, giving his coffee a good suck while he tried to ignore the goose bumps madly popping up on his right side.

Only smirking warmly at the playful dissing, Yami scooted the note forward even more almost making it fall off the edge. "I could never get enough of you." He said coolly, making the straw slip from Yugi's lips to flick the excess liquid onto the table, the confession taking him off guard and making his cheeks glow a healthy shade of pink. "Besides, it's a note from Atemu, since I told him he couldn't come over here to talk to you, yet. He's been bugging me about chatting with you and he thinks my coming over here is unfair; hence the note he wrote." Yami explained, finally pulling his hand away from the paper for Yugi to see.

Yugi picked it up with interest, staring at Atemu's signature before written neatly on one side before turning it over and reading the brief message.

Yugi,

Mr. Jock Strap is being an ass and won't let me come say hi, so "Hi!"

I'd really like it if you'd stay a while so that, if you're interested, we could chat.

I'd much rather talk to you than write you a note only to watch you read it from afar.

P.S. I wanted to ask you about something important, if you want to talk about it.

~Atemu

A grin must have spread to the tips of Yugi's earlobes as he read, because he could see Yami raising a brow at him from the corner of his eye. Atemu was just as shy and timid about himself on paper as he was in person, a quality that he would probably never shake. It made Yugi believe that he could trust Atemu a little more than he'd thought before. He was sure it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

But, the post script left him to kick up a brow in confusion; not really seeing anything in mind that they'd have to talk about. He might as well humor him though. Fate wasn't something Yugi put into his list of top five, but, to have met the two people he'd been thinking about just this morning with a similar theme to his dream the other night was just too daunting to ignore. There was obviously a connection.

And, of course, he had to congratulate Mr. Jock Strap on his new nickname.

A smirk now lighting up Yugi's features, he leaned over to one side, grabbing up his sketch book. Certainly the thick stack of papers brought up the short flashes of hurt from this morning, but since he was in a much better mood now, tearing out one sheet wouldn't hurt him.

After getting the sheet and borrowing a pen from the fidgety server, Yugi wrote down a quick note before giving it to Yami and telling him to pass it on for him. "I'm not your servant you know," grumbled Yami playfully though he took the note anyway.

"Mm, of course not…although, you'd look pretty good kneeling down in front of me."

Yami snorted, leaving his train of thought on the few remaining customers to rot. "Like hell I would. I don't kneel for anyone, thank you very much. I'm a proud man with a lot to do and I got no time for kissing shoes or ass."

Interesting. "What makes you such a proud and busy man when you work at a coffee shop where most of the people are here to rape your ass with their eyes when you walk away?" Yugi challenged, crossing his legs in triumph when that arrogant smirk on Yami's face dropped.

However it didn't stay gone for long and it returned with a vengeance. "Até and I are just using what we were given to get by in this world. As for the coffee shop, it's a nice place and we like it here. We're not working here for no apparent reason, we've got goals in mind and to accomplish them we have to get our hands dirty; i.e. having strange, ignorant, prissy customers that spend a fortune here in just one day. And who wouldn't be a proud man if they had that," Yami paused throwing his thumb back at Atemu who was working the coffee maker again while chatting with the women near the counter. "For a fiancé? If I'm not a proud man at least I'm a happy one." He finished, giving Yugi a smug smirk before turning back to roll around to Atemu giving him a note and what Yugi had to guess were some more orders.

Yugi smiled after him, feeling warmth inside of him still from Yami's passionately given explanation. "Goals huh?" Yugi asked himself softly, watching Atemu read his note and blush, getting all of the girls at the marble counter all riled up. Yugi smirked, watching the blushing tanned man look his way.

"I'd love to hear about them."

Pequeño Amante,

It's nice to know you have a sense of humor on paper. Hello to you as well.

I'd be more than interest, in fact I'd come over there right now if you weren't working so hard. But that's ok, I adore watching you sweat.

I'd love to see your sweet maroon eyes up close and personal just as much, your honeyed voice is something to be missed.

P.S. Are you going to ask me if I can plug your ears with my lovely voice so you don't have to hear those women anymore? I'd understand completely.

~Yugi

~*~Break Time~*~

If it weren't for the fact that Yami'd caught Atemu by his arm mid-jog when their lunch break finally rolled around, the excited man would have run straight to the booth Yugi was waiting in without his lunch. That mind fucking note that Yugi had given him had him blushing down to his ass cheeks and he couldn't stop thinking about Yugi the rest of his first shift.

Yugi'd probably written back to torment him and make him keen on getting off work as soon as possible. His thoughts were so jumbled up that he nearly wrote the man's name in foam in a girl's latte. If he'd given it to her he would have been screwed, but Yami caught him and spooned the foam out, chatting the girl up while Atemu went back to go redo it.

He'd never made a mistake like that before and he hated being so easily manipulated. But, even though he hated that, he loved Yugi for having such an influence on him.

After he'd grabbed the sack lunches they had pre-prepared, which were all the way back in the employee lounge, Atemu gave Yami another rule to follow why they were with Yugi, much to the man's dislike. "I saw you flirting with Yugi, and I don't think he's in the mood, so don't be such a pervert when we talk to him, please?!" He begged, knowing Yami was stubborn as hell and wouldn't budge on a decision unless there was something in it for him. "If you at least control yourself even a tiny bit, I'll take a day off your punishment," bargained Atemu, noticing the man's folded arms begging to loosen slightly.

However, things didn't stop there. "You know I can't do that; Yugi'd know something was up if I wasn't being my usual self." Damn it. That was true. Yugi was quick to noticing things, even when other people didn't notice at all; it'd be next to impossible to persuade him that Yami wasn't heeding Yugi's comfort zone because he wanted to.

Sighing heavy and long, Atemu formed another plan. The chances of it floating or sinking were pretty even so he had to give it a shot. "Just try your best not to make him uncomfortable, I told you he looked like he'd been crying when he came in didn't I?" A nod was his feedback. "Ok, so, I want to figure out why and I don't think flirting with him will get it all out in the open."

Yami's brow rose playfully and Atemu unconsciously blushed up seeing that challenging smirk on his face. "And you would know that how?"

"I don't, hence the words 'I think'." He replied, giving his fiancé a stupid look. The clock behind Yami, ticking by mockingly at their forty-five minute lunch break made Atemu fidgety, his feet edging back to the door of the private room.

Yami's charming crimson eyes rolled at the rude response, being used to it and all. "I know what you said. What I mean is, what if you're wrong?" He mused, giving the fidgeting man a smirk.

"Well, then I'd be wrong. It's really up to Yugi," said Atemu, giving Yami a perplexing once over. "What are you planning?" He asked, hitting the nail dead over the head as the smirk only grew in volume.

Leaning over into Atemu's personal space, making tanned cheeks rosy and red, Yami whispered softly into the impatient man's ear…

A confused frown.

A shocked face.

Then finally a knowing grin that fit the man's features nicely.

Pulling back with a pleased smirk, the foreign male's eyebrow rose as a silent question of approval.

"Alright," Atemu's grin shook along with his head as he thought it over. "If you can get Yugi to open up with your perverted ways I'll give you whatever you want and discharge you from your punishment; but, if I can get him to open up with my cultivating means I want…" He trailed off having to think about it.

He didn't exactly want much from Yami, anything he really wanted Yami already did. Except…

Smirking now, his black brows creased innocently. "I want to top you all night long, any night of my choosing." That playful smirk on Yami's smooth lips dropped faster than a hot potato in the kitchen. Narrowed and beady his eyes scanned his lover.

"You wouldn't dare…" He fronted Atemu's threat with his strong willed bravado.

Atemu's eyebrows wiggled playfully and he licked his lips, taunting Yami's libido to no end. "Try me."

Oh hell no. Visibly faltering Yami shot back with a gasp. "You bitch!" Atemu addressed his lovers with a playful bite to the air before he backed towards the door again. The cool handle rested safely in his grasp before he went to seal the deal.

"Not scared of a little challenge are you Ahku? I should think I know you better than that." Sly and cocky, just like Yami'd 'raised' him. If they weren't directed at him he'd have shed a mock tear for Atemu's performance; but right now all bets were off and so was his good judgment.

Was Yami going to take this from the writer who wouldn't sleep in a bed without him? Who couldn't dream of eating sushi to save his life? A man that wouldn't make a jelly filled anything even if you begged him? Fuck to the no.

"Alright, I accept," he grinned smugly coming closer to Atemu, letting his footsteps echo throughout the room with eerie foreshadowing. "Just know that if my ass is on the line, I won't show you any mercy." He warned.

But, Atemu just blew it off and waved his hand at him. "Pa-lease. Since when have you ever shown me mercy? Besides, if I know Yugi, I think he does better in an environment not so clouded in perverse fantasies, thank you very much."

Humming Yami rested his forehead against Atemu's, mingling their sweat together and make his lover cry out in a sticky complaint. "Just ask yourself one question. Would you have a better heart-to-heart conversation in an environment where you didn't have to worry about anything but the person in front of you or one where you have to tackle the world full throttle?"

A huff and plump pout accompanied the response. "That's a dumb question that you already know the answer to." Yami smirked broadly, shifting to put his hand on the knob, stroking Atemu's hand lightly before leaving it to rest.

"So, in a perverse situation, such as this one, your worries for what might happen if you say something will be gone and you'll be more willing to say what's on your mind, while there's pressure on you. Understand?" He leered over Atemu knowingly, seeing the fear flash through his eyes as he realized what Yami was saying.

He had an advantage. "I just signed a deal with the devil didn't I?"

Yami's smirk was massive and filled with the same loving evil it always contained. "In blood baby, in blood."

Sitting out in the café all by his lonesome, Yugi's fingernails clacked on the table in the same impatient rhythm he'd stuck to for ten whole minutes. He was bored as all hell and his two potential lovers had disappeared down the only hallway in the joint about five minutes ago. He'd been disappointed, thinking they'd come right over after the small coffee shop's customer flow had trickled down. But to his surprise, they'd gone down the hallways without even giving him so much a backwards glance.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, Yugi continued to sit there waiting for them; while also wondering why he was sitting there waiting for them. He'd never had the desire to see someone so much in his life, and with the hot sweaty feeling that he got every time he raised his arms, he could only guess that he was nervous about talking to them.

Not having felt that way on their first meeting he couldn't understand why; though the dream he'd had last night could play an important role. Familiar feeling rose within him, just by being present in the hearty mirth of the café; he could feel unjustified shyness and one of his ears was ringing with anxiety. The whole place was nostalgic within its own rights, but to Yugi the feeling seemed to intensify tenfold.

He loved this place and he like being here, but he couldn't shake the multiple emotions that erupted after being dormant within him for so long telling him, screaming at him that even though this place made him feel happy and warm that he should leave and never look back.

"Hey, Yugi, you ok?" A very not Atemu or Yami voice asked him, making him blink rapidly before turning his head to look in the general direction of the entity.

"Y-Yeah, I'm ok, I just…" Trailing off for a moment with his eyes suddenly meeting a busty chest, the signature on the name tag shone in the light and his mind began to reel with a single flash back. The tag hung off, what Yugi knew now was a woman's large breasts like dead weight, looking brand new as it's bright colors of brown and white glistened in the sun, highlighting the person's name. However, in the sudden lash of déjà vu, the tag looked dim and faded, the name still the same but the colors changing from brown and white to a mysteriously bright red and white. The skin tight dress worn on the busty woman disappeared, shape-shifting into a light blue blouse that hugged her waist line loosely, and a short black skirt covered by a white waist line apron.

Yet, when Yugi blinked his eyes again, everything was the way it should have been. The sun was clouded lazily, the wind was blowing in harsh gusts, he was in the coffee shop where the two curious men waited on him, and there were a pair of tits staring at him. Yup, perfectly normal.

….oh come on, who could lie at this point?

Fishbowl violet eyes scanned above the large breasts to find soft lavender orbs pointing over the projectiles as well. Genuine concern was found within and on their edges as the strange women stared at him, as if seeing him after thinking he was six feet under and pushing up daisies.

"How do you know my name…er…" Yugi carefully read the name tag, not wanting to start a fuss if her name wasn't spelled the way it sounded. "Mai?" She nodded gratefully, shifting her wait to one side with her hand on her hip and a note pad hanging off the other in her opposite hand. She gave him a glossy smile to compete with his deep frown of confusion, unaware to the fact he was completely clueless.

"Oh don't give me that, it's been a while but I'd remember your face anywhere! Those chubby cheeks, that rounded chin, those cute little mammoth eyes. You've sure grown some muscle over the years, but I can still see your scrawniness just fine. All your missing is dumb and dumber on either side and you're the little junior that came in here studying and drinking coffee like it was an IQ elixir." She gushed, making Yugi blush involuntarily, the scrutiny of his every aspect embarrassing him with a growing want to sink into the booth in case anyone heard her.

Although, he couldn't say he disliked her. Sure he had a strong dislike for women in the first place; mostly women who used their large breasts to their advantage. But, even with her loose cannon personality she seemed genuine and trust worthy, so Yugi gave her a chance to make her point.

"By dumb and dumber you mean…?" He questioned with fake puzzlement. Mai blinked at him openly and she thumbed the hall way subconsciously as she spoke.

"You know, Atemu and Yami. Atemu's smart and all, but he's dumb for agreeing to marry Yami, he could have done better. Yami's sweet and all, I can tell he has a good heart somewhere deep down inside. But all of that is overshadowed by the fact the dude can't keep it in his pants. I swear he's got another brain down there; smaller but with more influence." She snorted, making Yugi chuckle in her warm presence.

To think Mai had the two chuckleheads so figured out impressed Yugi. He knew he'd gotten that vibe from Yami for more than one reason. Now that his suspicions had been confirmed, he'd have his guard up even more with him. However… "Is Atemu just as bad?" He asked aloud, watching the blonde as she solemnly shook her head.

"It seems to always be Yami's fault. Though I do suspect Atemu lets him get away with more than he lets on." She admitted shifting to her other foot.

Brow raising with interest, Yugi leaned into his hand, giving Mai a perplexed stare. "Oh? Like what?" To his disappointment Mai shrugged.

"Not my business. But, you can tell by the way they act around each other that they're in love. If I had a love like they do, I do some pretty dumb shit too. They act like such an old married couple I'm surprised they're only engaged. Atemu bosses Yami around, calming him down and keeping him under control, and Yami tried to get Atemu to have more fun than what he'd have if he was alone. Their like fire and ice; they butt heads sometimes, but I also catch them being the cutest couple ever when they think no one's watching." She cooed, probably not aware that she was now leaning on the table, elbows digging in while her ass swayed teasingly in the isle.

Along with her idle chatting Yugi found himself smiling at how amazing being in love sounded. He'd never experience it before, at least he thought so, but just hearing about it made him wish he knew what it felt like. Being in love meant he'd no longer have to abide by his goody-two-shoes rules anymore.

No more abstinence, no more kiss free zones, no more anxiety, no more fear, and no more saying no. If he even had a dream about actually being in love and experiencing all of those things, he'd jump out of bed, go to the drug store, buy a one and a half litter of root beer and a pack of menthols, before going back home to smoke and drink all day long. Hell, he'd sit there all day. Going to the bathroom wasn't even a problem, he'd use the bottle.

"They sound fine all on their own. Makes me wonder why they'd want to add a load like me." He said aloud without even noticing. Well, until Mai launched into a bunch of relationship science that made him wonder how many magazines she'd read.

"Honey, of course they're good on their own. They could stay that way for a long time. But, for some relationships it comes to a point where 'fine' isn't good enough anymore. It comes to a point where ice and fire need what we call an ember. Atemu's ice, Yami's the little hot head, and you with your bad self, are the ember." She explained, pulling out props—the salt shaker, pepper shaker, and ketchup bottle— to show him visually what she meant.

When Yugi nodded, giving her his full attention and showing her he was listening, she continued. "Now, when a fire starts to dim out, what does it count on to keep burning?" She asked him directly, catching him off guard for a second.

"Uh…the ember?" Mai nodded, grinning at his clumsy speech.

"Right. Now, when the fire and ember combine, it equals lots of heat and it affects ice. How?"

"It melts the ice…" Yugi said beginning to realize the meaning behind what she was saying.

"Yup. But what about when the ember doesn't want to help the fire anymore?"

"It burn's out and becomes cold."

"So, if all the embers go cold?"

He got it now, he was the decision maker; the final judge. "The embers help the ice over power the fire…intriguing." Yugi allowed with a grin, eyes flickering up from the condiments to the women's violet eyes. "I like you, you're quite clever. We'll get along just fine."

Mai tilted her head to the side, unsightly misperception within them. "Well I should think so, I've known you forever. I was only letting you know more about them since they got together after you left the picture." Wonder why that is…

Fingers lacing in front of him, the fashion protégé finally decided to spill with a guilt cluck of his teeth. "Well, Mai, I haven't been completely honest with you…I actually don't remember you or the two knuckle heads. I'm completely in the dark about my past and I suppose I have some sort of amnesia, I'll have to go to the doctor to make sure, but until then I don't have a clue. Yami and Atemu asked me if I'd give them a chance, dating wise, and I didn't feel comfortable dating two people I'd just met. So now I want to get to know them better so that maybe we can…" A blush colored pale cheek when he trailed off, search for a way to say what he meant without making it sound sexual and more or less wrong.

"S-so that maybe we can talk more, hang out a little—." He was cut off suddenly by Mai's cacklish snort, his eyes flicking to her in his mass confusion. Her hand was covering her mouth and he could still hear the squeamish chuckles leaving her in harsh gasps; so much so he was surprised the women hadn't pissed herself.

Slits glared daggers at her unknowingly and a tolerant smile made its way to his lips with a twitch. "Something funny?"

"Yeah, you!" Well at least she was honest. "You do realize who you're talking about 'hanging out' with right?" She asked, nearly laughing herself silly in the midst of her own cockiness. "Yami Eiskaffee, boldest man I've ever met, not a liar and if he wants to get in your pants he's not afraid to tell you so. If he wants you, he'll get you. Keep in mind he doesn't usually want a lot of people. He might go easy on you, but your ass is his." She explained bluntly bring out Yugi's blush.

Just the thought of Yami doing anything to have the small fashionista made him shiver. He'd been wanted before, sometimes to the point of obsession, but the feeling that he got now was one of acceptance. He couldn't fully deny his attraction to Yami, the man was devious and cunning; so much so that his teasing and bluntly put statements made Yugi's heart beat two times faster than if he hadn't been around him in the first place.

Mai continued. "And let's not forget about Atemu Chai, evasive as hell, sweetest thing you'll ever see inside a pastry shop, and firm enough to take a punch but fragile enough to get his heart broken. If he wants you, he's in love; there is no other way to explain it. He doesn't do flings and only goes out with people he truly cares about. If you're on that list, and I know you are, you better consider yourself lucky because he's only gone out with one person before and that man put a ring on his finger." She finished, leering at Yugi with a playful smirk.

His cheeks began to malfunction with all sorts of red hues. Atemu might actually l-lo— no, it wasn't possible, he didn't even know Atemu that well. But... that ice was sure something he wanted to melt, he also wanted that ice to melt all over him. Fuck. Why does shit like this have to be so complicated? Why couldn't he get in a house without leaving a foot pressed firmly out the door?

His doubt showed and Mai was there to put her two cents in. "Kid, I know they're idiots that put a bit of pressure on others, believe me I do, they're my employees. But, they're good guys, Atemu's bright, Yami's creative, and they both have feelings for you that have lasted more than a decade. And, if you remembered even one thing about them, I know you'd see that you loved them just as much. If I had my camera from back then too you'd really see it from my point of view." A plump glossy pout made itself present on her face.

Yugi smiled softly and patted her shoulder. "Cheer up, I get it." He told her, knowing very well he was half lying through his teeth. "I said I'd give them a chance, and you seem like the type to tell the truth, so I'll take your word for it. But, can you do one small thing for me?" He asked sweetly, a devious little smile on his coy expression.

Mai perked up. "Anything hun, just name it." Music to Yugi's ears.

"You're close with Atemu and Yami right? So you'd be the person to talk to to get dirt on them yes?" He asked, Mai's violet eyes already narrowing with mischief at the blatant question.

She chuckled." Oh, I see, you want to know some of the juicy stuff about them they probably wouldn't want you to know?" Yugi said there were good smart women in the world; she was at work after all.

With a shy grin Yugi nodded. "No worries, I'm happy to dish. Who knows, you might like what you hear. Maybe you'll soften up on them for old times' sake."

"You seem eager for them to whisk me away into their perverse life style."

"Well, way back, you guys were all my boys, for the most part I'd be over joyed if you guys got together. If you guys are happy I'm happy." She explained gladly until a frown slipped in at the end of her sentence. "My only problem is that they might not make it to work on time anymore." She made it sound like she was suffering, but Yugi was too red faced to care. Apparently, from what she'd assumed, they were going to get into his pants so fast he wouldn't even know what hit him; let alone who was in him.

Instead of telling her he was a virgin and didn't plan on sleeping with either party any time soon, he shifted the conversation back to focus and waited for her to spill her guts. "Ok, so do you want to know about Yami or Atemu?"

"Yami, I'm pretty sure Atemu wouldn't do anything to hurt me, but Yami is pushing it too much for his own good." He scoffed, trying hard to push his attraction for the man down. It was only physical with him right?

The only qualities that really stuck out to him from that man were cocky, angry, and perverted; which were scoring him points at all. "Is he all about the sex or can I expect more from him than that?" He asked with dry humor, making Mai chuckle softly.

"Sweetie, that's just the way he is. His words are blunt and stupid because he doesn't know how to use them. Atemu talks about it all the time. But, never once has he told Yami to change. From what I hear the sex isn't just sex either. Yami is simply a physical person, he communicates non-verbally when he can. It's just as natural for him as it is for us to talk like this." She shrugged, finding peace with what she'd said.

"Hmm…I never thought about it that way…not that I had much time to think about it. It makes sense. Not exactly the dirt I wanted but…" He trailed off not knowing how to describe it. Was it true? Yami was showing that he wanted to communicate with him with all of that vulgar talk?

Mai's brow raised. "Dirt huh? I got one for you. Yami loves kittens. If he didn't have Atemu he'd be a true blue cat person. But, 'Mr. Chai' is allergic to cats, so Yami decided to cut off all ties with them, much to the protest of his fiancé. He'd get rid of everything before he gets rid of his lover. Atemu's his world, without him he'd be nothing more than a pile of dicks."

Yugi liked this, it made him grin with the wickedness of a demon in the shadows. He knew Yami cared about Atemu, but going the extra mile? That made him think embarrassingly, considerate, thoughts about the man that he'd have to negate having later. "Sounds sweet, what about Atemu? What does he do?"

"Do?"

"What's he like behind closed doors?"

"Oh! Well, let's see…" She paused to think, biting her lip firmly to think. "Atemu's kind of like a big kid. Real stubborn, pouts constantly, he blushes like a new born baby, and…he's got this weird thing for teddy bears. He's always talked about wanted one so big he could sit in it while he watches TV on his days off." Yugi bit his lip, trying and failing not to grin goofy at the image of Atemu cuddling up to a bear. It was adorable and childish, but Yugi could only see those things as the bright side.

"Cute…anything I should worry about?" He asked unsurely, not knowing if he wanted to pry or not.

The decision was made for him when the lavender eyed women frowned, hesitating with the avoidance of her eyes contact. "Well…I'm not at liberty to say for that one; it's got something to do with his past. You don't mess around with something like that, so if he wants to tell you he will. Me? I'm not doin' it." She said firmly, leaning back up so that she wasn't breast deep in the table any more.

Yugi pouted slightly. How boring was that? Though she did have a point, he wouldn't want his past discussed behind his back either. Well played Mai, well played.

"Alright…I guess you have to give trust to receive it after all."

Perking up the women gave him a big hug that nearly smothered him in the midst of her body mass. "That's the spirit kiddo!" Her cheers must have drowned him out completely, because even as he squirmed and made breathless complaints that he couldn't break she held him in a locked embrace.

"M-Mai! What are you doing!?" Saved by the Chai. For a moment he thought he'd die smothered in a women's wrack before he lost his virginity. Shit like that really made you think. Most of the thoughts were stupid anyway though so it was ok not to list.

If only you'd just let the chuckle heads have you…

Newspaper headlines would say 'twenty six year old virgin smothered to death by large breasts'…

Never even got the chance to get a real job…

Ok, now the mocking thoughts were just being cruel.

Feeling the café owner's grip loosen upon hearing his savior's voice, Yugi wriggled his way free and sucked in a vast quantity of oxygen, sighing heavily. His relieved gaze settled on Atemu, his breath catching slightly as he realized the tanned male was finally able to meet him, face to face. A smile came to his lips. "Hey Té-té, thanks for saving me." He acknowledged, soft and sweet for him; already starting the flirting game on expert.

Atemu's cheeks blushed lightly at the new nickname, shading nicely across the bridge of his nose. His and Yami's uniforms were similar, but instead of having a coffee cup on his shirt he had a little chef's hat on his right breast, his name tag on his left. He'd taken off his apron and now wore his dress pants proudly. "Y-you're welcome, but…'Té-té'? Did Mai tell you about that?"

A glint of confusion shone across both their features. "What do you mean? I was just testing out a new nickname. Has Yami called you that before?"

Atemu's plump lip suffered under the hesitation of his top teeth, an unsure look on his face. "Um…never mind. How are you?" He changed the subject quickly; giving Yugi a smile that he could already tell was forced. Yugi didn't like secrets, and from what he already knew about this man, he didn't like keeping things from him either. So why couldn't they settle this to make them both happy?

"I'm fine, but the person avoiding my question is about to get the death glare." He said sweetly, the maroon eyes of his crush meeting the floor. He must've known that the decision to spill his secrets wasn't really an option because his cheeks flushed and he swallowed hard.

"Well, you see, Té-té is the nickname you gave me in high school. I found it annoying at first, but after a while I just got used to it and let you call me the pet name without complaints. I just thought you wouldn't have wanted me to remind you that you don't remember any of that." He answered, looking somber about it as he looked back up to meet the smaller's eyes. "I'm sorry if it seemed like I didn't want to tell you…I just thought it would be for the best if I didn't say anything…"

Yugi snorted. "Well you shouldn't make decisions for others. I can handle it." He assured the shy man, looking Mai's way when he continued. "I know I've forgotten a lot, and I may have to baby step my way through how, but I'm willing to try…I want to remember what I forgot, I want to try working through this hand in hand, and I also want to learn to trust you and Yami. But, it all takes time, and trying, so we have to get comfortable with the reminiscing sooner or later."

Mai rolled her eyes with a grin, feeling all grand and dandy knowing Yugi'd taken her advice. Atemu looked relieved now, a gentle smile setting his features ablaze in the confines of Yugi's heart. "It's good to see that you're taking things so well. I was scarred for a minute there."

Waving him off with a hushed tsk, Yugi attempted to undermine his worrisome ways. "No need to be scared of little old me. I can't do much to you, let alone intimidate you."

To his disclosure Atemu rolled those dazzling maroon eyes and pouted stubbornly. "I didn't mean that I was scared of you," he grumbled, pouting heavily just as Mai had described. "I meant I was scared of—of losing you. I just…" Atemu trailed off his cheeks glowing so bright Yugi had the sudden urge to reach up and touch his warm cheeks, hoping that that warmth would work its way into his heart.

Alas, he kept his hands inactive and still under the table and instead gave the flustered man a warm smile. "I understand. You don't have to feel embarrassed; it's very possible that you could lose me. But, don't worry about it so much, just show me you so I won't get lost." Yugi advised him, finally giving in to rub Atemu's arm comfortingly, making him sigh softly, his relaxed muscles screaming relief.

Since coming into the small, expensive café Yugi could honestly say he felt a lot better than he had before. He didn't want to give fate all the credit, he'd walked in with his own two feet and a taste for caffeine; but, even he had to admit this couldn't be a coincidence.

For a few short moments, Yugi felt a peace in escaping his worries for a moment to address someone else's, it freed him from all of his worries and left no room for thinking about matters that could be dealt with later on. That mask of doubt was almost lifting away from his face, letting him see the world like he'd always wanted to. A loving place where if you tried hard enough you could get anywhere in life.

But, when Yami came around with that arrogant smirk shit hit the fan and the mask slipped right back on. "Hey, everyone gettin' along over here?" He asked casually, his apron on and a tray in hand, making Yugi tilt his head.

"Didn't you just take your lunch break?" Yami nodded. "Then why…?" He asked, starring at his worker clothes with a pointed gaze.

"Ask Miss 'Yugi fan-girl'." Sarcasm smeared Yami's tone as his eyes rolled toward the blonde still standing to Yugi's right, grinning sheepishly in her own bravado.

"Sorry, sorry, I've got a shop to run. I'll leave you love birds to your eye fucking." She waved, taking the tray from Yami and leaving them be. When Atemu began to sputter breathlessly at her vulgar language Yugi had no choice but to chuckle heartily at his ever changing innocents. But as refreshing and heartwarming as it was, Yugi still had something's to talk to them about before their break ended; all things good and bad.

Clearing his throat softly, he intertwined his fingers on the table and gave the two Gold Bean employees a sheepish smile. Yami's attention was his first, Atemu slowly trying to make the beat red color in his cheeks fade. "Hello again, Yugi." His sultry voice made its first attack, the heart pounding vibrations making him inhale sharply, clouds of sweetness and coffee filling his nostrils and dulling his senses.

Damn this man, his whole existence was like a lethal aphrodisiac, and fighting a guy like that would be pointless; he'd get his way in the end. All he could hope for now was that his backhanded attitude could subdue the beast long enough to get him farther ahead in the game.

He smirked. "Hello to you too, Mr. Jock Strap." He speaks out fluently as though that were the name the man was given at birth. Of course that'd never be true unless Yami's mother and father despised him, or wanted a football star and got a little boy with a love for coffee beans and caffeine.

As he'd perceived beforehand the man before him looked at him stupidly with a dumb struck expression that Yugi fought not to chuckle at. Atemu, standing to the side and trying to keep his facial expression professional, cupped his mouth tightly, eyes closed, hiding away his amusement, but Yugi could still see the rise of his cheeks as he smiled and chuckled lightly into his palm. But, he wouldn't let him get away with it, not today. "C'mon Té-té, laugh, it's funny. After all, laughter keeps the Jock-itch away~!"Sing-sung Yugi, giving the air a nice scratch.

Atemu was powerless, he couldn't hold his laughter and it spewed out loud and proud; the female customers did not seem bothered by it though, treating it like sweet music that flowed around them from a tan, high quality, speaker. The victim, of course, looked thoroughly betrayed. "Atemu!"

"I'm-I'm sorry; I couldn't h-help myself!" His fiancé said through muffled chuckles.

Yami growled. "I am not a Jock Strap!" He hissed down at Yugi, though his tail was waving sorrowfully between his legs. Yugi waved him off.

"Sure you are! Nice pink one too."

"Hey, I like pink!"

"Then it fits." Yugi smirked calmly while Yami proceeded to fume and pout, trying to think of a comeback that may get to him. But Yugi knew that look. Jutted out lip, creased brows, set jaw line, eyes that looked at him but couldn't see him; he was planning something, but he already knew it was useless.

So instead, like a smart guy, he changed the subject to something that wouldn't get his ass kicked. Clever. "Do you remember us yet? You did call Até 'Té-té' after all. You do realize that's what you used to call him all the time right?"

"So they've told me. But, sadly I don't remember, the name just popped into my head. You call him Até so I thought it was wrong to steal your nickname for him, I made my own; for him and you. But don't worry, yours won't stick for long." He answered honestly giving Yami a short smile. Atemu had sat down already, trying to get as much food in his system as his lunch hour would allow. He kept his eyes on both of them though, following the conversation just in case he felt the need to participate.

In spite of their setting and conversing, both parties were shocked to see a light shade of pink climb across the bridge of the standing man's nose. "W-well then…that was very… considerate of you." Was his only reply before he slid into the brown cushioned booth next to his fiancé and began to dig into his brown sack lunch.

Atemu beamed. "You stumped him…" His tone was stunned, his eyes fixed on the man trying to hide his blush by taking large bites of a sandwich that smelled oddly like eggs. "Yugi, I know we saw you yesterday…but…can I just say how much we've missed you?" Atemu asks, his semi-embarrassed expression making Yugi's smile brighten.

"Of course you can, I've missed you too. Surprisingly…" He wouldn't tell them that they'd been on his mind all night and all this morning, that'd only encourage them. "Don't let it get to your heads though." He softly warned quickly after.

Yami muttered quietly taking another bite of his sandwich. It sounded a lot like 'Too late', but Yugi couldn't be sure. Atemu was smiling softly and shaking his head so the assumption must've been close.

Yugi smiled warmly, feeling better now that they'd broken the ice. Now that he was in a good mood, maybe talking to them wouldn't be so bad. "So, since I'm here, can I borrow Atemu so he can make me cake tonight?" At this Atemu blushes while a fine brow lifts away from questioning crimson eyes.

"You liked it that much?" Atemu asked shyly, coyly looking at Yugi from under his lashes. His reply is quick and it nearly melts the man into a butterscotch puddle on the cream colored marble floor. "A klondike bar is nothing compared to your cake. There's nothing I wouldn't do for it…or you for that matter. You're a rare jewel Té-té, I can't just pass you by. I have to stop and stare for God knows how long." With a smirk Yugi reached over the table to hold Atemu's hand. Only for a moment though before letting it go to put his hand back at his side; he didn't want to get them in trouble with their boss.

Yami's frail fiancé couldn't take such flattery lightly. His whole face was red with embarrassment and he felt oddly touched by Yugi's compliments. But he needed to cope fast because the compliments were still coming.

"Yugi's right," Yami nodded with conviction, making Atemu gawk at him as though he were crazy. But, Yami was not the least bit apologetic. "I'm glad I snatched you up when I did, before you were wasted on someone else." He smirked in Atem direction and the Egyptian couldn't help but look away, not wanting to be captivated by his smile. Yugi leaned forward in his seat, digging his elbows in the table as their gazes locked and he smiled. "You're perfect Atemu…"

Yami nods along, leaning into him from their side of the booth. "The full package." He purred out into his ear making the muscular cook groan softly, pushing him away gently.

"Stop fooling around." He tried making Yami halt.

He blinked before turning back into the proper seating arrangement. "Oh yeah, we're at work." He clucked his teeth shaking his head. "Damn, I could've had that ass by now." He hummed three times in a disapproving manor. He earned Atem's fist to his arm; and the quiet murmur of 'pervert' hissed at him through gritted teeth.

Yugi didn't know what it was, but he had this insane desire to put his foot in the door of their conversation. He didn't want attention but he wanted to be a part of what they had. "Could I have provided my services?" He questioned lightly, asking as though it were some innocent question.

Of course, by doing so, this made Atem's jaw absolutely drizzle down to the floor like sweet caramel; his face frozen in shock. Yami raises a brow, making Yugi tilt his head innocently, his question blaring out transparently.

He shrugged. "If you put the B to the F you can do whatever you want. But, until then, I work alone." Winking at Yugi with that crooked, sexy, smile the youngest of the three couldn't hold down his blush. The red hues crawled on hand and knee to the surface as he turned away in his stubbornness as he was proven wrong. Obviously they didn't find sex to be the main agenda. But it was weird because they were already in a relationship; why would they need a third? Did they need something extra in bed or was it just that they were up for loving more than one person?

Yugi shook his head, abandoning the thought quickly in favor of shooting back a quick retort. "I said I was borrowing him though…for 'cake'." His fingers quoted the word as it left his lips, his eyes narrowing with his smirk as he gave Atemu a once over; pretending mildly that his lips were trailing along that fit body of his.

To his great pleasure Atemu's cheeks darkened and Yugi could see his form trembling. Yami gazer him a sassy glare, obviously wanting to play the little game too. "You can make your own cake, meanwhile me and Até will be making sweet 'cake' in our room, drizzling hot icing all over it. He smiled innocently. However what he said was so inhumanly vulgar to innocent ears that a soft, broke, gasp came from Atemu's parted lips and Yugi's quoting hands fell limp to the table, his facial expression in comical shock and his cheeks turned stop sign red.

Yugi gaped at the perverse man in front of him, said man looking at them both curiously as though he'd said nothing wrong. "How can you say that with such a straight face…?" He squeaked out, still trying to get over his shock and hoping that no one had taken it in a way that would threaten his employment status.

Yami shrugged, still smiling. "Because, just thinking about it makes me happy." His eyes opened from their smiley state to scrutinize him cuttingly, hitting Yugi with so much lust and passion that he felt naked under his gaze. "Not to mention, you two are pretty cute when you're speechless. It just makes me want to make this official even more so than before." So, it was the second one…

Yugi felt his heart skip a beat, his eyes softening slightly. Did they really like him that much? Could he be with two people like this? What had I forgotten that could make the decision whether or not to date them so easy? He didn't have a fever but he felt warm all over now. What would he do?

"Yugi?" He gasped sharply, straightening to attention as Atemu called his name.

"Hm?" He felt fingers slip between his and he looked down at the tan hand clasping his, licking his lips at the fine contrast.

"I'll make you as much cake as you want, but please take me away from him before he does something crazy!" Yami flinched at this and feigned his hurt feelings; a hand on his chest as though Atemu had hurt him to his very core.

"Rude much? Don't leave me; he probably eats cake all the time, look at how round he's stayed these past few years." He pointed at Yugi's face, making said man blink widely. His gapless teeth clenched as he growled, Yami's comment being quiet offensive.

"I'll ignore the fact you just called me pudgy by enlightening you a little on my life. I don't eat cake every day. Today I had my first slices of cake in years. I can't cook or bake, and I can't even take Té-té from you for a night to make cake because Ryou's health nut and doesn't want sweets in the house unless their naturally sweetened, like fruits and such-." Yugi was about to continue on in saying that there would be no cake in the first place, but both of his companions cut him off at the same time.

"He doesn't let you eat sweets?" asked Atemu, tilting his head as though he'd grown a pair of cat ears.

Yami blinked sluggishly broad, as though he'd just gone blind. "Why is it any of his business what you eat?"

Yugi blinked deciding to answer Yami's question first. "He believes their bad for me, I live under his roof, he's like my mom. I follow his rules and he makes sure I'm an upstanding citizen. Sweets are a no, no…even if that's a little hypocritical coming from someone who owns a bar." Yugi chuckled matter-of-factly.

Yami looked perplexed by everything that came through his lips, as though the words went through one ear, trashed the place and then went out the other. "You…live with Ryou?" He asked slowly, making Yugi raise a brow.

"I do. Is there a problem with that? He does have a boyfriend so it's not like we're fooling around on the side-." He said softly, justifying his roommate status. Although, explaining that Ryou and him weren't an item was not only for them. It was his own selfish way of making sure they didn't back off of him. He could say he didn't want to be with two strangers all day long, but people are only strangers until you make them a friend or acquaintance; hell, even a love interest. He just couldn't pin-point what these two were to him yet.

Yami shook his head. "It's not that it's just…well…I thought you'd be staying with Solomon is all." He admitted with a shrug, going back to his lunch.

However, Yugi stiffened up at hearing his grandfather's name on this familiar tongue, a throbbing emerging deep within his skull as his brain tried to process this before the knowledge spread down his form. Sure, he knew his grandfather was a famous collector who'd owned an antic in this small town, they could have known just from walking past the window that that was his grandfather. But…just speculating the theory made Yugi shake his head.

They spoke of him as though they were used to calling him by another name, one Yugi'd called him many times. They weren't on the outside looking in, they were in with a lack of information; as though they'd grown up with his old man and that he was a part of their family and held a special place in their hearts. He hadn't mentioned the man once, and that would tip anyone off; his grandfather was someone worth being spoken about all the time, even while the body was at complete rest.

Great. Now he really knew they weren't lying, they were just good looking, ambitious, well paid, blunt, sexy…perverts. He sighed to himself dismissively, prepping himself to give an answer without giving anything away. "Well, you thought wrong." He said slowly, rubbing his own hand as he spoke; reassuring himself that he was safe. Although, that would imply he felt endangered.

Atem's beautiful caramel lips created an unthinkable frown, his eyes scrutinizing Yugi's distancing posture. "You know, talking about it might make you feel better? You don't have to shoulder the burden yourself." The suggestion was well known and Yugi'd heard it before. With a shake of his head he declined the offer and changed the subject.

"Té-té, you sent me a note saying you wanted to talk about something, right? What was it?" He asked, looking at Atemu with sharp eye, telling him that if he brought the old topic back there'd be hell to pay.

In response the older shrinks back silently. "Nothing" He says quietly, making Yugi raise a brow.

"As long as it's not about my Grandfather, I'll talk." He reassured, giving Atem a pointed look. Had it been about his grandfather?

"I was going to ask why you looked like you'd been crying this morning. As soon as you took your glasses off I could tell." Oh. Yugi's cheeks colored as he realized he wasn't very good at hiding things. Even when Ryou had asked him how he felt about the two men he couldn't lie and would tell it to Ryou straight after having attempted to deny the allegations twice.

Yugi sighed. "I see…I had a job interview this morning that did not go so well." He answered the unspoken question passively, tapping his fingers as their lunch period ticked on. He watched Atem's hand slide over to his, hesitating before patting his hand gently.

Sheepishly smiling away he made Yugi's cheeks ripen with warmth. "Would it be cheesy for me to say they didn't deserve to have someone like you? Or maybe that you shouldn't let them win over you with your tears?" He said softly, showing Yugi the kindness he'd needed.

He chuckled. "It would be extremely cheesy…but, true." Then he sweat dropped realizing he'd practically broken down this morning in the confinements of his car. Though, of course, he wouldn't admit to this out loud.

Yami had still been eating, watching them silently, but he spoke up, suddenly realizing something. Yugi wasn't the type to cry over nothing, it had to be important. "If you're so upset it must not have been just any job, right?" Yugi's eyes widened and he shifted back sheepishly as Yami hit the nail on the head.

Nodding slowly he let more of his information slip from his hands, not being able to hold on to it; and not wanting to. "It was my dream job… I'd wanted it for so long I thought it was just a matter of time until I got what I deserved. I would've given anything just to be a part of the fashion industry. Whether it be my dream of designing, tailoring, and retailing or getting the fabric, the coffee, and lunch; I'd have been happy to just be a part of that world. But, they didn't even give me a chance!" He nearly growled, his eyes scowling at the table while it played the image of the interviewer's dissatisfied faces. "I swear as soon as I pitched my designs they just chugged a bunch of hater-aid and let me have it! I felt so humiliated! Everyone's got to start somewhere before getting as high as them, but they threw my dreams out the window before even considering that I had some potential!" His heart rate had jumped and he was red eyeing the table now, feeling his anger rise.

Atemu watched him, his jaw slack and his brows furrowed into a look of disbelief. Yami looked like he had some hate held within his eyes but his features were calm and collective; nothing like Yugi's. The man was struggling to pull himself back to the café, seeming to accidently drive back to that tall building, glaring into its eyes. Thankfully he hadn't brought a weapon and had decided against staying in that haunted place, slowly driving back to his present day in age.

He took a deep breath, closing his eyes, letting the warm atmosphere of the café soak in once more. Then they were open. "But, I suppose I'm grateful for my misfortune…after all I did get to come here…I'm pretty sure if it had been up to me I wouldn't have called wither of you or picked up any of your calls. So, I'm just glad I had the sudden craving for coffee." He smiled again, feeling a little better with those few things off his chest.

Atem's face still wasn't quite right, but he looked supportive; willing to steer the conversation back to focus. Yami suddenly reached his hand out to Yugi, letting it hang in the air between them. "Can I see?" Yugi's brow rose, his eyes scrutinizing Yami's hand. He rolled his eyes. "You're designs, can I see them?"

Yugi's hand immediately found his bag, placing a hand over it in defense. "I don't know, can you?"

"…please?" Yugi noticeably bit his lip finding it hard to give his designs a second opinion. What if they really did suck?

He sighed softly, snatching his sketches out of his bag before shoving them at Yami, letting his body act so that his mind wouldn't interfere. Yami took them with a nod, quickly pulling them out of reach before opening it up to the first page. He immediately saw the muscular cringe a bit; which he could tell why. Of course the first page was going to be rough, but he'd improved since then. "It's not as bad as it seems if you go to the back."

Yami did so, obviously needed a break from the horrific sight of his newbie days. Atem looked on next to him, peaking at the designs. Yami's eyes had widened slightly and he obviously tried to hide it, but he smiled too, grinning along with his fiancée. This confused Yugi, all he was getting was mixed signals. Where they good or not? That's all he wanted to know.

Atemu backed off Yami momentarily, giving Yugi a wide eyed smile. "Yugi you're amazing!" Cheeks going bright pink, violet eyes dropped down into a covered lap, feeling bashful; yet, flattered.

"Really? You're not just saying so?" Yami snorted. Placing the sketches down and looking straight in Yugi's eyes, boring into his soul. Yugi's heart skipped a beat, making time slow down for a second. When time came back Yami had a sly look on his face, pointing down at one of his male designs.

"Honestly Yugi, those people you told us about have to be the biggest fucktards I've ever had the displeasure of hearing about. If they hadn't been so full of themselves maybe they'd have realized with the designs you have you could easily become a millionaire selling these clothes, and that's on your own. You don't even need them!" He told Yugi as though he were the dumbest person he'd ever met.

Of course, Yugi had his arguments. "I don't know how to do it myself. They talked about it in college but it also involved many people, not just one person taking it all on themselves…I also don't have the resources or advertisement so what would be the point-?" Yugi was cut off suddenly when Atem rose from his seat, both palms flat on the tale and a glimmer in his eye that that screamed with purpose.

"You won't be alone, we'll help you through this." Yami turns his head to him with a confused look.

"We will?"

"Do you want to spend the night on the couch?"

Yami's facial expression changed, a crooked grin now in place of his gaping jaw. "Apparently we will. We'll meet up Friday on our day off and discuss the details." Yami smiled sheepishly, getting an approving nod from Atemu.

Yugi's eyes froze in a distant stare, looking at the two as though they were two unreal beings, shining their light on his when he'd sworn he was lost to darkness and that he'd never recover. His breath caught and he felt a large tear role down his cheek making him blink in shock. His two saviors faces dropped and they began to panic slightly.

Atem asked if he was ok and held his hand from across the table, not caring really for who saw. Yami took a napkin and handed it to Yugi, looking at him worriedly. "Did I say something wrong? Do you not want help?"

He shook his head quickly, reassuring them softly, "No, no, it's ok, I just…thank you, I'm truly grateful. I know it's not convenient since you two have two jobs but-."

Atemu waved his hand in front of him as though it were a wave. "Nonsense. We're happy to help. Yami's just lazy."

"Am not." He grumbled under his breath, pouting slightly. Glancing at his watch for a moment his mood shifted and he gasped taking his lunch by the balls. "Shit!" He hissed. "Five minutes 'til breaks over." Ah, that was the Atem Yugi know, glad to see he wasn't eaten alive. Yami tore through the rest of his lunch, and Atem had sat down to eat the leftovers of his, his being lighter than Yami's.

Yami'd cleared his in about three minutes, having practically binged all of his snacks. Only after he'd licked his fingers clean did he realize that Yugi'd been staring at him the whole time, his mouth gaping. His crimson orb winked his way making his blink rapidly, narrowing his eyes at the man in wonder. "See something you like?"

"No, I don't think watching you nearly choke three times is attractive."

Yami clucked his teeth shaking his head. "That's too bad; Atem loves it when I choke." Thwack! Yami hissed, holding his head forward after the blow. "I knew that was gonna happen."

Atem snorted. "No you didn't. You would have moved if you did."

"But what's the fun in that?" said Yami smiling away like some innocent little boy.

Yugi couldn't help but laugh, feeling way better now than he had that morning.

Atem pouted. "I swear you only care for me because I can cook."

"No, I care for many reasons. That was only one of them. I'll tell you the rest when we get home." He smirked wryly sliding out of the booth. Rolling his eyes Atem followed suite, sliding out and stretching before tying his thigh-high apron back around his waist.

Yugi was sad to see them begin to leave; he'd probably go home now just to talk about what he'd talk about already with Ryou. He'd see them again Friday it seemed, but on a Tuesday it felt like forever away.

Suddenly, while he was caught up in his abandonment, a group of girls slowly made their way over, attracting some attention. Yami quickly intersected their path looking at them. "We're just about to go back on duty; you don't have to get up."

They waved him off, what looked like the leader telling him her intentions. "We want to talk to the boy you were talking to! He's so cute!" She sighed softly, nearly moaning.

…what in the leather hell were they looking for him for?

He blinked up at them, making some of them gasp and coo. His eye twitched softly, hating the girly attention that he now held. Unfortunately, his mad face still looked cute to the harpies and they swarmed him, crowding his booth and squishing him to their bodies and up against the wall making him groan.

Some of them could see he'd been crying and kept asking questions like "Did they make you cry?" or "Are you related?" or his least favorite "How cute can you get?". He looked to Yami and Atemu for help when they began toying with his hair. But the women were already being watch by sharp crimson and maroon glares; an emotion hidden within them that he recognized as the one he'd had when that woman had touched Yami's arm. Now he knew what it was.

Jealousy.

To retaliate with what he saw, he began fighting against the women, pushing them back. "I'm already spoken for, please let me go!" But, they didn't they kept groping him all over, trying to persuade him to the dark side. So, with no other choice, Yugi squeaked before ducking under the table, sliding out from underneath and popping up to greet Yami and Atemu. He quickly said he'd see them Friday, telling them to be prepared, before he bolted from the café, jogging to his Cressida.

But, before getting in he looked at the sign above the café, looking at the name and memorizing it.

"Golden Bean… huh." He shrugged sliding into his car and whipping his seat belt on. He changed the radio to K104 before adjusting his mirror and pulling out. "This place needs a new name. Coffee references are so lame!"

Over the next three days Yugi'd chatted with the chuckle heads he now considered friends almost every afternoon, getting more and more comfortable with them; enough to make somewhat deviant jokes about situations and women. He looked forward to hearing about their days each time he picked up the phone while Ryou teased that he was crushing on the two hard.

When Friday finally came, and seven o'clock rolled by, Yugi headed over to their house, provided with directions beforehand. He tells Ryou he'll be back at nine, but Ryou insists he won't be back until ten if at all. Yugi complained about this, but all Ryou said in his defense was "Mommy loves you!"

Standing in front of the door with his satchel, Yugi gets slightly nervous, with his feet planted on the welcome mat and his hands wringing themselves through each other. He'd been to plenty of guys' houses before, but now he even contemplated on whether to ring the doorbell or knock.

He'd never felt like this before, and to him it didn't make sense. He'd been to all of his ex's houses and had just stepped through the door praying that he didn't get hurt and that maybe he wouldn't have to go through anything with that person. But now, after years of just trying not to get hurt and always running away…

This was the relationship he wanted to make work.

Finally! I can't even tell you how I got inspired to finish. I just suddenly started typing and words flew out.

May be lots of mistakes.

Next chapter will be fun for some, highly inappropriate for others. You've been warned.

Man, I hope I finish this fic soon
