Sorry for the long wait! But technically, you didn't miss much. I've posted plenty of one-shots since the last update, but still... Hopefully this chapter will be good enough for the wait. Please excuse any major spelling or grammar issues, I'm working on a laptop right now and the program it has from writing doesn't have spelling or grammar check. So I had to do it manually. Thank you! :)

The room was silent, save for the ticking clock, fan, and a light snore that emitted from the sleeping blue-eyed genius that laid sprawled out on the couch. Moon light spilled in through the windows and splashed across the teen's peaceful face. The clock read that the time was nearing midnight.
Only feet away from the sleeping teen, sat his two friends who relaxed underneath a small light. Although they should probably be sleeping as well, they knew they had to finish a project they had due the next day. Which, would have been done hours ago, had it not been for their genius friend Tony Stark. Now they couldn't exactly blame the guy for falling asleep on them, but it was frustrating all the same. Yet they knew that having a superhero as an alter ego, was anything but easy.
So, they opted to finish the project themselves for their friend's sake. But that didn't mean they weren't going to give Tony an easy time later. After all, they were hardly even half way done with the project when their friend up and passed out on them.
"I'm hungry," Pepper commented, setting her pencil down, "I'm going to go grab a snack. You want anything?"
Rhodey thought for a moment. "Nah, I'm not hungry."
The redhead shrugged and left to the kitchen of their friend's home. Leaving Rhodey alone with Tony. Rhodey spun his pencil in his hands tiredly as he waited for Pepper to return from raiding Tony's kitchen for snacks, but a sudden though passed through his mind. He smirked as he dropped his pencil on the table in front of him and moved towards the couch Tony was sleeping soundly on.
The blue-eyed genius was definitely sleeping harder than a rock. He laid on the couch as if he just threw himself on there without a care in the world, which was probably what he had done. One of his legs were hanging off the ledge of the couch as well as his arm, while the other arm rested peacefully underneath the hem of his shirt, revealing his stomach just the slightest bit. His head was thrown back, his mouth gaping open as if he was trying to catch something in his mouth. Not to mention the drool that slid down the side of his face.
Yep, he was definitely out cold. No question about it.
Pepper returned with a bag of cheese balls, which Rhodey couldn't be happier about. Those were perfect for his plan. Pepper plopped back down on the recliner chair lazily and tiredly as she shoved her hand in the bag to retrieve her snack.
"Pepper," Rhodey said, trying not to laugh, "hand me some!"
Pepper raised her eyebrow, but didn't question him as she handed him a handful of cheese balls. She would have asked him why, because he had a look on his face that was suspicious, but her mouth had been full of her much needed snack. After all, she had missed the better half of dinner.
Rhodey bit his lip to prevent himself from laughing out loud, as he readied himself at the opposite end of the couch Tony had been sleeping on. With a cheese ball in hand, he aimed it towards his friend's mouth. With a flick of his hand, he sent the cheese ball flying towards Tony's face, only to bounce harmlessly off of Tony's nose. Thankfully, and expectedly, Tony didn't react.
Pepper, who had been watching curiously, couldn't help but laugh. Rhodey shushed her, and prepared another cheese ball for the throw. It wasn't that he was afraid to wake Tony up, because they both knew that Tony was the hardest sleeper they knew. But it was more instinct than anything.
Rhodey tossed the new cheese ball, this time it bounced off of the inventor's chin. Rhodey sighed. He was going to have practice his aim, because it should have been a lot easier, saying that Tony's mouth was gaping wide enough to fit an elephant. Figuratively speaking of course.
Focusing closely this time, Rhodey tossed his next cheese ball. Sadly, this time it was far worse than before. It collided into Tony's eye, the rolled peacefully down his face and behind the inventor's neck. The two that remain awake, tensed when Tony's snoring became irregular and he shook his hand in front of his face as if slapping away someone's hand. They relaxed when Tony's snoring continued and his hand fell limp back to the side of the couch.
"Wait," Rhodey said, trying to keep his laughter at a low. He walked so he was on the other side of the coffee table before the couch and readied his fourth cheese ball. "Now," at the words, he fired the cheese ball towards Tony's mouth and after a moment, the cheese ball was successfully in the inventor's mouth.
At first nothing happened, but as soon as Tony's went to take in a breath, he woke up with a start. Then of course, his first instinct was to spit out whatever it was that had been in his mouth with a confused and tired grunt. He shot himself up in a sitting position, "What? What's wrong?"
His two friends burst out laughing. Pepper had practically rolled off the chair she was sitting in, clutching at her stomach as she laughed. Not to mention the bag of cheese rolls she had managed to spill across the floor, but that went unnoticed. Rhodey, who still couldn't get the look on Tony's face out of his mind, was rendered immobile on the floor rolling.
Tony could only stare confusedly at his two friends, before he realized what had gone down. He licked his lips, tasting the cheesy powder and instantly realized why his friends were laughing. He groaned tiredly, completely exhausted from a long day as Iron Man, only for a project to follow, and yet another Iron man call to interrupt them.
"Why do you guys do this to me?" He groggily asked, wiping his hand across his face. He frowned when his hand came back wet. He drooled?
Pepper was the first to recover. She took a few breaths to calm her heart before she spoke. "It was Rhodey's idea!"
"Hey!" Rhodey protested, still grasping at his stomach, which ached with laughter. "You're the one that got the cheese balls!"
Pepper playfully glared at her friend. "Because I was hungry!"
"Still," Rhodey mumbled.
Tony threw himself back once more with a yawn. It was too late for all of this.
"Well," Pepper began before the blue-eyed genius could fall back asleep, "since you're awake..."
Tony groaned, knowing full well what the redhead was referencing. "Can't I just sleep a little more?"
"No," Pepper said, sternly.
Like a child, Tony whined, earning himself a laugh from Rhodey. "I'm tired!"
"Come on, Tony," Rhodey said, "we're almost done."
Tony rubbed the sleep from his eyes, begrudgingly. "Fine."
So, yeah. This was really random, but I remember last summer on a long car ride, I was sleeping with my mouth wide open, so my cousins decided to throw Chex Mix into my mouth...Plus, I needed to write something happy and cheery.
Fun Fact: I sleep with a ton of pillows, half of them are huggy pillows (body pillows).
Hug and Love to you all! Thanks for sticking around and reading my stories! :) SilverPedals!
