Disclaimer: I don't own Legend Of Korra
Summary: Mako is thinking of the night after the carnival with Korra
Mako dries his hair offers he walks out of the bathroom dressed in his white and red striped boxer shorts and into his bedroom. He tossed the towel into the dirty laundry basket at the end of his bed and puts on the white muscle shirt he'd recently left there on the bed before he had gone for his shower. As he turned to leave his room he's stooped by the pile of pale and dark blue clothes left in a messy slumped pile next to his door and sighs excessively at them.
"Korra." He said internally as he leaned over and scooped up the pile of clothes. He couldn't understand why his girlfriend felt the need to just dump her clothes on the floor in such a mess when there was a perfectly good laundry basket right next to the bed. Either she she was getting lazy or she just knew he would pick them up for her.
Annoyingly knowing which one was more likely as he drops her clothes into the basket.
After dealing with that, Mako walks out of his bedroom and into the living area of the apartment and that was when he saw her. Korra was sat on the couch in one of his muscle shirts and her light blue pyjama bottoms, her feet propped up on the small coffee table in front of her, her hair which was let down softly framed her face. She turned to look at him and saw that he was standing at the entrance to his bedroom with his arms folded, Korra raised a brow at the rather questionable expression of unwanted surprise that plastered his face.
"What are you looking at me like that for?" She said sounding accused of something.
"Why must you always leave your clothes in a mess on the floor." Mako said as he walks around the coffee table to his spot on the other side of the couch. "There's a laundry basket in the bedroom for a reason."
He sat down on the couch next to her just waiting for whatever excuse she was preparing to come out with any moment now. And Korra wasn't late to deliver.
"Ohhh is that where the dirty clothes go." She says through a clear tone of humour. "I thought that was just where you kept all your clothes."
Korra bursts into laughter at her little joke, where as Mako however pinches the bridge of his nose. Why must she always make a joke of something he asks her, she never takes something like this seriously and he's left sitting here for her come down her height of laughter just so he could speak again.
After a few minutes Korra finally started to calm down a bit, she rested her head on his shoulder as she tries to find her breath again. Mako looks down to see her deep alluring blue eyes gazing up at his.
"Aww I'm sorry sweetie, I didn't mean to make a mess." Korra said softly nestling her cheek against him, and it wasn't long before she started to take affect on him.
Mako's once annoying expression began to wash away and be replaced by the warm smile that tugs at his lips, she was just such an adorable sight when she looks up at him like that.
How could he get mad at such a beautiful woman about a pile of clothes being dumped of the floor. He just couldn't for it was just ridiculous, and with that thought on his mind Mako leans in and presses a light kiss on her forehead.
"Ah, it's fine. But now you know for next time." He chuckled out. He was however at that moment interrupted by the sounds of a rumbling stomach echoing in the quietness of the room. Mako looked down at Korra again this time to see her rubbing her stomach.
"Someone's hungry." Mako quotes stating his girlfriends obvious requirement of food.
"Yeah. I'm starving, but Bolin cleared out the fridge again before he left for the night?" Whined Korra as she recalled getting a bit peckish whilst Mako was still in the shower, but when she got up for a quick snack she ended up being greeted by an empty fridge. The thought of an empty fridge was an annoyance to, but for Mako it was something he's grown use to regarding his little brother, and he had just the right solution for such a problem.
"Well then." He said as he reached to open one of the draw on the coffee table. "It looks like we're ordering food in tonight."
Korra's eyes lit up instantly when she saw the Narooks menu being pulled out from the coffee table draw. Quickly shooting up from her slouched posture.
"Great. I was starting to think neither of us were going to be eating tonight." She said with her eyes locked on the menu. Mako turned to look at her bright smile, smiling at her himself.
"I'm not surprised that you're so happy, seeing is that I'm guessing I'm paying for our dinner again." Mako chuckles out handing her the the menu. Korra raised a brow to him and squints her lip.
"Oh come on Mako you haven't payed for all of them." She said in a questionable tone, which instantly gained a shot of laughter from Mako.
"Oh really... Tell me then Korra, can you tell me when was the last time you bought dinner." He asked folding his arms at her. Korra chuckles brightly at him.
"Oh that's easy it was... ur... um... Oh gees I should know this... urm." Korra suddenly began to stutter out, now that she thought about it. She couldn't actually remember the last time she bought dinner when they ordered it in, or wether she had even bought it once and she was left babbling out random gibberish as she tried to come up with something to say. Mako smiles at her noticing that he had caused her cheeks to blush a lovely shade of pink. He knew looking at her was causing that to happen but he just couldn't help himself, she just looked so cute when she blushes but he decided to help her out and pressed a finger to her lips to stop her stuttering.
"It's fine Korra. I knew that would be a tough one to answer." Mako chuckles picking up the phone and dialling the number for Narooks.
"Do you know what you want sweetie?" Mako asked.
"I think I'll have the seed weed noodles and green tea" Korra replied. Mako told the person on the phone what they wanted. He then put the phone back.
"They should be here in about an hour" Mako said as he sat back down in the couch next to Korra, waiting for there food.
"So. What did you order?" Korra asked.
"I ordered the spicy chicken noodles and coffee" Mako replied.
"Don't you think that's too spicy?" Korra asked.
"Korra. I'm a fire bender. I'll handle it" Mako said.
"But. I'm worried that you could choke to death" Korra said while sounding very worried. Mako wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
"I'll be fine. I've handled spicy food before. It's sweet that you care that much about me" Mako said with a smile.
"Well. Yeah. I don't want anything to happen to my little Fire-Bender." Korra said. Mako leans in and softly presses his lips against hers. Korra kissed back with equal pressure and passion. They continued to kiss for a few moments when Korra suddenly came up with an idea. She pulled away from him and got up from the couch.
"What is it Korra?" Mako asked wondering what she was doing. Korra walks over to the television set that was on the other side of the room and opens the cupboards beneath it.
"I think we should have a little fun while we pass the time waiting for our food." She said bending over to reach inside the cupboard. Mako turned his head to look and felt a tingle of blood flowing through him as he tried not to blush seeing the curve of her backside quite clearly while she was reaching down. Korra stands back up and turns round, tossing him a controller to the games console in the cupboard. Korra then turned on the the console and the television, taking her controller and sitting back down next to Mako.
"Seeing is that our food is an hour away. Lets have a bet" Korra proposed. Mako however raised a brow at her, completely dumbstruck by what his girlfriend was implying.
"A bet?" He said sounding confused. Korra giggles at his adorable reaction and sheds some light on the situation.
"Let's play a game of Bender Blitz Karting. You vs Me. One race, if you win I'll pay for dinner with some of the money my parents had given me." She said explaining the bet to him. Mako just stares at her, still wondering what she was up to.
"But what happens if I lose the game, I always pay for dinner anyway so it wouldn't be much of a prize for you as it is for me." Mako stated. What was Korra up to, knowing her this idea was going to lead up to something but for the life of him he just couldn't figure out what it was. Korra just gazed at his eyes feeding off the confusion in him. And the suspense to find out what she was planning.
"I know that. So that's why I'm making the steaks high for both of us... If I win, I get to claim a prize of anything I desire. No argument about it, No backing out of it. Whatever I pick, you have to aid and support it one hundred percent." Said Korra as she finally explained what Mako's end of the bet was.
Mako could feel a slight chill of nervousness slither down his spine. Whatever game Korra was playing it was certain that losing would be an option he would regret. And what did she mean by a prize of anything she desires, the thought of it made Mako's brain cringe. Seeing that it was Korra she could pick almost anything.
It could be anything from getting him to buy that blue nightgown she wanted from that shop she was talking about a few days ago. To something completely ridiculous aimed only to make a total idiot of himself so she could earn a good laugh.
And everything in between.
Korra was ready to play and pressed the start button on her controller, but before she went any further into the game she notice that Mako hadn't done anything yet, and when she looked down at his controller Korra noticed his hands shaking ever so slightly. The thought of Mako getting nervous about this bet spurs her on to mess with his head a little bit. With a small smile tugging on her lips she leans towards him, her chin resting on his shoulder.
"What's wrong CityBoy." She chides out, her voice trailing off to a whisper. "You're not scared to challenge me are you?"
Her words worked into his mind and the warmth of her breath wrapped around Mako's neck raising the hairs on the back of his neck on end. He knew she was enjoying this and if he backed out of the bet he'd never hear the end of it. And with that thought on the forefront of his mind Mako swallowed his nerves and the competitive side of him comes out as he plasters a smug look of triumph on his and looks at her.
"Oh you are so on. Korra." He said confidently as he pressed the start button on his controller to sign into the game. Korra smiles back at him, happy that he accepts her challenge she gets herself comfortably positioned into the couch as she selects Player vs Player on the game menu.
"So what kinda Kart you taking, Korra." Mako asks as he scrolls through the wide selection of various characters to find a good one to race.
"You know what... I think I'll go native and take a Water-Tribe Kart." Said Korra, selecting a balanced series variation of the Water-Tribe racers.
"What about you, Mako... you thinking of going native." She asked. Mako glances at the stats to the Kart she had picked and had a second to think, seeing that the Kart Korra picked was a balanced variant it would be a good all rounder for the bet. So Mako decided to take a gamble.
"Hmmmm... I think I will go native sweetie. But I'm not going balanced like you." He said as he scrolls over and picks a speedster series variation of the Fire-Nation racers. Korra looks at the choice of Kart, wondering why he'd gone for that particular variant. But when she copaired the stats to his choice of Kart and hers it soon became clear. Mako was going to compensate for his lack of durability and handling by taking a Kart that outclassed hers on top speed and acceleration.
He was going to try and get ahead of her and stay there the whole race.
"Oh so it's that game you're playing huh." Korra said internally as she presses the option confirming Both hers and Mako's choice of Kart and moves onto picking the track they would be racing on.
"So where are we racing?" Mako asked as he waited for Korra to pick a track. Korra twiddled through the the choices of circuits to race in. There was Earth-Kingdom off road tracks, Northen and Southern Water-Tribe ice cave courses, Fire-Nation volcano runs, even a perfect replica of the Future Industries test track where Asami's new Sato-mobiles were tested. But to be sneakily honest she was struggling to find one that had enough bends to hinder Mako from using his Karts higher top speed, giving her the advantage to beat him. Mako drums his fingers against his controller as he waited for Korra to pick a course.
"Spoiled for choice?" He said. Korra nodded whilst still keeping her eyes locked onto the TV screen.
"Yeah... I can't pick one, I want one that's fun." She said slouching back against the couch. Mako looks at the selection of tracks for one that would likely satisfy her. Then a smile tugged at his lips when he finds what he believed was just the one.
"How about this one?" He says. Korra looked back at the screen to see that Mako had brought up the DownTown Republic City race track. The track was a grid based course set on the streets near the central area of the city and consisted of a series of shard hard left and right turns which looked like they might slow Mako down in her opinion.
"That looks like a fun one." Said Korra as she selected the option confirming the choice of track. Then turns to Mako.
"Last chance Mako... You sure you're ready for this." She said sounding smugly confident. Mako retorts with the same cocky smile of confidence.
"Bring it on girl, bring it on."
With the two of them ready Korra pressed Start Race and the screen begins to load the course. Both Mako and Korra ready themselves as their Karts are lined up on the grid and the count down timer starts. Their fingers poised on the accelerator trigger ready to shoot off as the counter nears the end.
Three. Two. One... GO
Mako and Korra hit their accelerators and shoot off to a blinding start. But as feared Mako's Kart rips past hers thanks to his higher acceleration pushing him into the lead. Korra moves behind him to use his slipstream to avoid falling behind as they reach the first turn, Mako brakes hard and kisses the apex of the turn followed quickly by Korra who shaves some time off the gap between thanks to her Karts better handling, but she is unable to overtake him because he blocked her in the corners and was too fast moving out of them to catch. Instead Korra stays right on his tail aiming to copy his racing line and hope he makes a mistake at some point.
"Come on Korra. Keep up." Mako chided mockingly as he began to pull away from her again. As they fly round the eighth corner they come up to the row of power up icons that littered the track. Korra moves out of Mako's slipstream as he grabs the icon marked with an Earth symbol while she snags up the Water symbol, Korra lines up behind him and quickly fires the Water shot she had obtained from the power up, but Mako was prepared for that and used his Boulder blast power up as defence by launching them behind him to block the shot.
"Damnit!" Said Korra as he pulls away from her again. Mako continued to stay ahead of her as he raced through the track and crossed the line starting the second lap of the race. A smug look glued to his face.
Korea sticks to Mako's tailgate like a Buzzard-Wasp as she tries overtaking him again they come round to the power ups again, but Mako hatched a dastardly plan and at the last possible second he swerves in front of Korra and steals her power up.
"Hey! That was mine." Korra yells in annoyance. Mako however just chuckles at her.
"Well, it's mine now." He said smugly as he fires the Air wave power up. A powerful gust of wind emits from Mako's Kart, pushing Korra right back.
"Oh I am so going to make you pay for that." She snarls.
"Well you better catch me quick then." Mako chided mockingly as he crosses the line again. Starting the final lap.
"Looks like you might be buying dinner tonight sweetie." He said. Korra had been trying so hard to overtake him that she was now almost leaning right off the couch. Korra stuck her Kart right into the bends desperate to try and close the gap but it wasn't looking good for her.
Then out of nowhere luck finally came through for her. As Mako turned into the eighth bend be over cooked the turn causing him to skid wide costing him time and speed.
"Oh no... not now." He cried out as he saw Korra taking advantage of his lapse of concentration and closed the gap to the point where she was right behind him. He tried desperately to keep her from overtaking him, but at the price of him missing the power ups giving Korra the chance to swipe the Fire power up. Mako tries to pull away but Korra is right on his tail and isn't backing off.
As they speed round the final corner and onto the home stretch Korra smirks as she exits Mako's slipstream for the final shootout.
"Oh I got you now City Boy." She chides. Mako glances down at her screen and feel a pang of fear shoot through him. Korra still had her Fire power up.
The Flame Boost.
"Oh no... don't you dare Korra. Don't do it." said Mako as he tried to escape. But his attempt was futile for when they were a few seconds from the finish line Korra fires her power up.
"No, no, no..." Mako cries as Korra shoots past him and into the lead. crossing the line first.
"YES, yes I win. Hahaha." She screams with joy jumping up and down in the air.
"Noooooo... I was so close." said Mako sounding unmistakably stricken with defeat. Korra turned round to see Mako bury his head in defeat in his hands. She leans down in front of him and presses her hand in an L shape on her forehead.
"You lose. City Boy." Korra chides mockingly as she rubbed her triumphant victory in. Mako looks up a her and retorted with a murmured grumbling sound.
"You got lucky. I so would of had that."
"Oh don't be such a sourpuss Mako. you have to admit it was fun." Said Korra as she sat back down on the couch next to him. a slight giggle slipped from her lips. "Even I have to admit. I think that race had you flying by he seat of your boxers longer than anything else we've done."
Mako's grumpy attitude started to wash away when he felt her head rest against his shoulder once again. A small smile graces his features as he did have to admit hat even though it was on a game, it was pretty fun and there wasn't any need to get worked up about it.
"Okay... I admit that was pretty fun. even though I lost." He said, wrapping his arm round her to hold her close.
there was a knock at the door. Mako gets up and opens the door to see that the delivery guy with their food had arrived. Mako picks his wallet out from his jacket hanging on the coat rack and paid for it.
"Thank you. Have a good day" The delivery guy said as he walked away. Mako shut the door as he open the box with their food in and sat it down on the coffee table in front of him and Korra. He sits down next to her as they started eating there food. While Korra tucked into her seed weed noodles, Mako noticed that she had a smile on her face.
"What is it Korra?" He asks before taking another mouthful of his spicy chicken noodles. Korra dabs her mouth dry with her napkin and turned to face him, her face lit with joy.
"I know we should probably eat first. But I want to claim my prize just now." She said, her voice hinting a tone of surprise. Mako looks at her for a second before he swallowed his food again.
"What... now?" He thought to himself. It's late at night and they were eating at this moment. So why was Korra so fixed on claiming this prize.
What was it?
Mako set his chopsticks down on the table and turns to face her as he asked the question.
"What is this prize you are intending to claim Kor-."
But before he is even able to finish his sentence, Mako is forced down into the couch cushions as Korra pounces on him like a wild animal. She grabs his wrists and holds above his head and she hops on top of him straddling his waist. Mako is left completely speechless and shocked on how fast Korra had pinned him to the couch and was now looking up at her. She leans down so her hair tickled either side of his face as her lips ghosted over his.
"I intend to claim... You." She whispered softly, and she kissed him... Hard.
Mako kisses back with a surprising amount of enthusiasm, but it was nothing compared to the brutal pressure of her mouth against his. He tried to break free from her grasp so he could wrap his arms round her, but Korra holds him tight as she pushed even harder against him and forces her tongue past the seam of his lips.
Their tongues danced for dominance but it was pretty clear to Mako that he was going to lose, so he unraveled his tongue from here and took Korra's lower lip in his, sucking harshly, determined to keep the fight for dominance as Korra softly moans as he did so.
A few moments later Korra pulls back for air when she feels as her lungs were about to burst open. Mako looks up at her, her bottom lip now red and swollen from his kissing. And her deep ocean blue eyes gazing into his molten Amber ones with raw desire.
"So you're claiming me tonight, huh." Mako smirks at her. Korra giggles playfully at him as she leans down to him again.
"That's right. Last time we had some alone time, you had most of the control then. So this time." Korra moves even closer to him till her lips brush against his ear. And whispered seductively. "I'm taking control of you."
Mako's blood rushes south at the sound of her sugary sweet voice melting inside his ears. Korra flicks her hair over to one side giving him access to her neck, he latches onto her soft skin like a vampire and trails loving pecks up the slope of her neck to her jawline. He could feel he vibrations her gentle little moans against his lips causing the painful ache in Mako's manhood to increase dramatically. Korra giggles again at the feel of him poking against her.
"Let me asks you something, Mako. Are you glad I won the bet." Korra said sounding rather triumphant, but then again she should be seeing that she was straddling him while successfully claiming ownership of his body right now. Mako just gazes up at her with a confident smile spread across his lips. A lustful murmur seeps out.
"You knew the answer before you'd even finished the question."
Korra's mouth smashes against Mako's again as they pleasurably kiss each other with the raw passion that was trapped inside of them. She pulls away for a moment of air only dives back in to kiss him again and again until they were both panting for breath.
Mako felts one of her hands release from his, he did not fight to break free from her other hand for he was too caught up in the moment. Korra drags her hand down his arm feeling the his impressive biceps as she moves to his chest. A sudden sharp intake of air is gasped into Mako when he feels her fingernails tracing the definition of his muscles as she ventured her hand towards his hips.
Mako opens his eyes and was glad he did to see the pleasing smile on Korra's face. Her fingers stop just at the waistband of his boxers and she stares into his molten amber eyes. Smiling brightly at him she boldly states.
"I hope you're ready for this... CityBoy."
Mako just smiles back at and Korra takes that as a yes and begins to slowly slip her hands underneath his boxers and-
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! "Mako, you in there?"
Mako's eyes shoot as wide as they could open as he violently was gasped awake. As he pants for air Mako looks around to see that was for some reason in his room on the Airship, his mind spinning in confusion.
"What the..." He murmured. Then a few seconds later Mako's mind finally clicked into gear and he buried his head in his hands to muffle the curses he was trying not to spit out.
The whole thing, every single second of it from he moment he'd walked out of his shower to the second when Korra was about to claim him as hers for the night...
Had been nothing but a dream.
But to him it had felt so good, so beautiful, so real that he was convinced that what was happening, what had happened so many months ago was really happening at that moment. And yet here her lies on his bed.
His thoughts were interrupted by the same sound that woke him up in the first place. The sound of knuckles rapping against his door.
"Mako... you in there. I gotta talk to you." He heard the unmistakable tone of his little brother behind the door. Mako sighs excessively, he was a little annoyed that Bolin had disturbed him when he was in a moment of a happy memory. But after hearing the persistence of his brother it sounded like whatever it was he wanted to talk about. It sounded like it was pretty urgent.
Or at least for Bolin's sake it better be.
"Yeah. Come in bro." said Mako, but before he was even able to get up from his bed, Bolin barges into his room ams flailing.
"Mako... you gotta come quick... Tenzin... Tavern... Wild Ones..." He stutters out as he tried to find his words to tell his older brother what he had to say. Mako however was't understanding a single word Bolin was saying, so he quickly got up from his bed and shhhhh's him quiet.
"Bolin... calm down." Mako said calmly. As his little brother took several deep breaths to come down from the hight of his urgency. Mako speaks again.
"Now... start from the beginning. What is the problem."
Bolin took a moment to gather his thoughts, and takes a deep breath.
"Tenzin and the rest of his group just came back. And when I went to tell him about how we had found Desantis and about how we were meeting him tomorrow. He seemed pretty worried about something." Bolin said whilst trying to remain calm. Mako raises a brow to his little brother.
"Worried about what?" He said folding his arms.
"That's what I asked him... He said that he was worried that something might have happened to Korra."
Mako's eyes widened slightly in shock. He knew Tenzin usually only worried about Korra when something bad was happening at the time. What had spooked him into worrying about her when he was fine before they'd set earlier today.
"What... why was he worried that something might have happened to her?" Mako asked, sounding a little worried himself.
Bolin begins to explain.
"When Tenzin and the others were off searching for Desantis, they came across this Tavern that was where they supposedly thought he was. But when they went there they found out that the whole place was filled with a lot of people that weren't so happy to hear that Korra was here as well. They kept telling him about how mad they were at her for releasing the Wild Ones."
"Who the heck are the Wild Ones?" Said Mako.
"Tenzin said that apparently their Benders with dark powers that were banished to the spirit world thousands of years ago, but now that Korra opened the portals they've been freed. Don't you see bro... These Wild Ones that Tenzin heard about sound just like the Black Swans... You know the people that we had heard about from the protest we encountered."
Bolin's words sunk deep into Mako's head and he feels a chill of grim remembrance creep down his spine. After being so caught up with everything else after, he had almost completely forgot about what both he and his little brother had heard at the protest when they were out earlier, until it was all brought back up now. Everything Bolin had said sounded dauntingly similar to what they'd heard. But at the same time his mind was reluctant to believe it. The whole thing just seemed to astronomical for him.
And he had his reasons to believe that.
"I don't know Bo... How do we know it's not some kind of lie." Said Mako. Bolin gasps at his older brother, somewhat slightly shocked at what he just heard.
"I don't believe you Mako... Tenzin is not one that lies." He retorted holding his hands on his waist. Mako pinched the bridge of his nose with frustration, he didn't mean Tenzin was lying to them.
"No Bolin... I mean how do we know that what these protesters have saying is not just a lie. It just seems to me that if these so called Black Swans or Wild Ones were real then wouldn't we have heard so seen something to do with them after Harmonic Convergence, rather than just a bunch of angry protests waving their fists in the air... I mean you remember back in Republic City when Amon was still kicking. He made up the lie that he was a Non-Bender to trick the public in order to build the Revolution. How do we know someone's just trying to stir something up." Said Mako as he tried to convince his little brother that he was probably getting a little over worried about the whole thing. In a way, Bolin could understand what Mako was getting at for there was no reason to make a bigger problem out of something than it actually was. And he was right in some ways as well, because if the Blacks Swans really were real then seeing proof of them would be the only reason to believe that such Benders could exist.
But Bolin also knew something that neither him or Mako could ignore. And with that thought in his head Bolin stares at his brother with the most serious of looks. And drops the penny.
"I thought that to, Mako... And it only reminded me of this. Whether Amon's entire revolution was built on a lie or not, it caused some of the worst problems we'd ever gone through. I got kidnapped by Chi-Blockers and nearly had my Bending taken away from me for good by Amon, then he attacked the Pro-Bending Arena during the final causing utter chaos, his actions put Korra under immense pressure which led to her clashing with Tarlok when she stood up for the good. And I know you can't deny how upset you were when she was kidnapped by him."
Mako exhaled a breath of frustration from his nose as he tried not to think back on that, while Bolin continues on.
"And then right after we got her back. Amon trows the entire city into war."
Mako wasn't exactly sure on why his little brother was getting at telling him about what had happened so long ago and why it had anything to do with what was happening now. But that didn't stop him from asking.
"What are you getting at with this bro?"
"Amon's lie never pointed the blame at Korra... but everything we've heard at the rally, everything that protester said was ultimately pointing all the blame at her for leaving the portals open... It scared me Mako, because if we just ignore what we heard today and forget about it. What happens if it boils over and something bad happens to Korra." Said Bolin finally managing to get his point out to why he'd come to speak to His older brother.
Mako's stomach churns in fear as he finally realises himself what Bolin was trying to say. His little brothers words had struck a nerve of terror in his mind because if there was one thing Mako knew about his brother better than anyone else, it was that when he was worried about something possibly happening... It was usually because it was likely to.
He hadn't thought of the situation in that manner, and now that he Mako instantly regretted doing so. What if Bolin was right? What if something bad did happen to Korra if this was ignored? The thoughts swirl around in his mind until Mako himself is unable to think straight on what to do.
"Has Tenzin spoken to Korra about this yet?" He asked, but Bolin shook his head.
"Not yet. And that's another reason I came to find you… I told Tenzin we'd heard something similar to what he's today and that I would get you to talk to I'm about it first. You were always better at things like this than me Mako." Said Bolin as he went back to Mako's bedroom door. Mako looks at his brother for a second and realised that he was right. Speaking to Tenzin about what they heard would be the best thing to do for now for at least then they could figure out if their stories were connected to each other in a way and come up with a way to tell Korra. Mako goes up to his bedroom door as Bolin opens it for them to exit the room.
"I'll talk to Tenzin about earlier today. Just wait for me to come back and I'll tell you how it went when I get back." Said Mako, but as he was about make his way back to the living room, Bolin his hand on his shoulder to stop him. He said his name in a slightly worried tone causing Mako to turn back at him.
"You don't think something bad will really happen to Korra?" He said quietly. Mako saw the glinting fear in his little brothers eyes and reassures him with a gentle pat on the shoulder.
"We… If trouble wants to come to her. Then its gotta get past us first." Mako said firmly stating his defensiveness towards Korra as a friend. Bolin's worried expression soon crept away and he smiles at his older brother, glad that he was the braver of the two of them in the end.
The two brothers leave their conversation at that and Mako begins to make his way back down the ships hall to the living room to meet Tenzin. Although he was a little unsure on how he was going to discuss this with the Master Air-Bender, Mako was glad that his little brother had woke him up in the end. He was glad his little brother cares about Korra enough to not just ignore something that had been roaming around the village involving herald get him to try and suss out what was going on.
The same way he knew Bolin was glad that Mako cared about her enough to still stand to protect her… regardless of their breakup.
Haha. I bet I had some of you there for a second. Nearly thought things were going to get heated up there.
