Lilly sat in her room, bored, awaiting the call to go to the training field. Yes, she was the president, but she wasn't inaugurated until next week, so there was still someone in charge of her. Before she actually became president, she was going to be assessed on her fighting skills. America just wasn't the same. There were still militia break outs even though she killed Gaughan. There were also war clans. They fought against each other for food and water and even land. Besides the fact, she needed to be judged to see exactly how much secret service was needed to watch her.
"Miss Aldean." She heard her secretary finally call.
"It's open."
"The leader is ready for your assessing."
"Ok." Lilly got up and followed Maria out the door. They waddled outside and met up with Nick, the tactical critic.
"Hello, miss." He greeted. His voice was low and a little intimidating. Well, it should be. He used to be a secret agent.
"Hi. What do you need me to do?"
"Pick up that sword, and fight."
"Who?" She asked reaching for the handle of the sword that was leaning up against a rack.
"Me." He said pulling out his own sword and jumping at her. She defended his swings and after about thirty seconds, she had him pinned on the ground, with the blade resting against his throat. She released him from his arrest and let him stand up.
"Nice work, Aldean."
"I trained well."
"Now take this gun, and shoot that target." He pointed to the distance and she saw a little red and white target. Picking up the gun, she turned to Nick for a minute.
"You do know that I'm on the top 10 list of sharp shooters in America of 2011?"
"I may, but I still need to assess you."
"Ok." She reloaded, and shot. Nick got a call on his headset.
"Really?" He asked before hanging up. "Well you've really impressed me, Ma'am."
"Yes. But you'll still be in need of body guards. This world has changed. You know how to use a bow and arrow?"
"Yes."
"I'll have my buddy Clint come in later to appraise your skill in that."
"Clint...Clinttttt..." Lilly pondered. "Last name?"
"Classified information."
"But, I'm the preside-"
"Not yet." He corrected. "You will be fully inaugurated in a few days."
She sighed feeling her sass nerves activate. "Right." She breathed. Maria and her walked back to the president's house.
"Miss Lilly." Hill said.
"You can just call me Lilly."
"Ok, Lilly, do you have anything more..uhh "professional" then that?"
"Yeah, I'm sure I can find something." Lilly walked into her bedroom to find something better to wear. She picked nude flats and a blue cardigan with a belt.
"This good?" She asked her secretary when she stepped out of her room.
"Perfect. Now wanna have some "fun?" She asked.
"Ahh paperwork... I do not miss this." They walked outside and turned down the smal road. It was about a two minute walk until they got to the confidential building. While walking over, Lilly sighed and put her head down.
"Something wrong?" Maria Hill asked.
"Uh yeah... its a..long story..kindof."
"I like stories." She smiled.
"Well...my boyfriend lives on club penguin and I had to leave him to come here. Things were getting pretty serious and I was hoping he would propose."
"Why didn't you bring him?"
"I can't. He works at a secret agency with me and some other friends."
"We were one of the most powerful countries in the world. I think we can pull him out or send in an officer to take his place."
"You can to that?!"
"Yeah."
"Do it...and for 3 other people."
"Sure thing." She said smiling. "We're here!"
"Already?"
"Yup. We try to keep everywhere you need to go in the same square mile so you're never late, plus it's really convenient. Although, there are a few buildings out of state, but that can't be helped."
"Yeah. I've been there." Lilly answered as they walked up the driveway to the building. "When I was venturing through the nation with me fellow agents, we walked days upon days to get places."
"Couldn't you drive."
"We had to travel in secret."
"Ahh I see." Maria said opening the door for Lilly. They walked into a room where there were about a hundred people. "These guys are all politics."
"Rebublicans?"
"Some democrats." (Not that I hate democrats they're just people, but I'm a republican.)
"Right in here." Hill said. They sat down for several hours to do paperwork an file things and a bunch of other random stuff. Once they were finished, they left and went back to the president's house.
"Maria I need your help!" Lilly said to her when they walked up the stairs to her room.
"Yes?"
"It's been awhile since I've seen my boyfriend WHAT DO I WEAR?!"
"Wellll let's take a look." Lilly opened the door to her room and then the closet. After some time deciding what to wear, she chose a crème sundress, green purse, and brown moccasins.
"Do I look ok?"
"You look great. Any guy would be lucky to have a sweet, smart girl like you in their live."
"Aww thanks. You know, you never really struck me as someone who would be all 'romancy' and stuff."
"It's a weak spot." She winked. "Go on, you're gonna be late." Maria answered and left.
Lilly grabbed her purse and got into the cab that would take her to the train station.
