Peeta sadly took his place as the gong went off. He had never wanted to sponsor a tribute, let alone mentor one. As the gong went off, he covered his face. To his right, Katniss was shaking and twitching, fists clenched so hard her knuckles were white. He put his arms around her, and she turned her head as the fighting began. The Bloodbath seemed to take forever, but when it finally finished, you could hear the cannons ringing throughout the arena.

"God dam-"

"Katniss! No swearing!"

"That's not swearing!"

Peeta rolled his eyes. "Well, what's wrong?"

"Three of Enobaria's tributes are in the Cornucopia with Shine! Along with two of Johanna's and one of Haymitch's!"

"Well, do something!"

Peeta watched as Katniss scrolled through her sponsor options. Deciding on an object, she sent it to one of Enobaria's tributes, closest to the Cornucopia walls. It clunked against the metal outside, and the Careers filed out to look at it. Shine slipped away unscathed.

Almost.

One of Enobaria's boys had noticed her sprinting from the Cornucopia, and his axe had sliced off a couple of her hairs.

"Sweetheart!"

"What?" Katniss spun around to face Haymitch, exasperation in her voice.

"Nice strategy, kid. Were you trying to get that girl killed?"

"What else could I have done?"

"I dunno, figure it out for yourself."

Haymitch swigged his liquor bottle and swaggered away to his seat.

"THAT WAS HELPFUL!" Katniss yelled after him, hmphing and turning back around.

Meanwhile, Peeta's tributes were having problems down in the arena. Jack, a stout 15-year-old, had broken his leg during the Bloodbath. Fox, a bright eyed girl of 16 helped him along as they slowly made their way into the forest.

"Are you sure you're okay? I can set your bone; I was practicing to be a doctor before this", Fox said gently, sitting Jack down on a rock.

"Please? But can you do it fast? I've been hurt enough today", Jack replied, wincing as he sat. Jack's Capitol family had always enjoyed the Hunger Games. Jack, however, hated them with a passion. Taking innocent kids from families that did nothing wrong and making them slaughter each other was cruel.

"Three, two, one-"

Jack panicked: "WAIT!"

A dull pop was heard as Fox set Jack's leg bone. It hadn't been poking through the skin, which was good. Easier to heal, Fox thought, using a piece of her jacket and a stick to make a splint.

"Did it hurt?"

"No, the fact I'm sitting here, grimacing and making whimpers of 'ow' and pain means I'm totally okay! Of course it hurt!" He hissed.

Fox and Jack, after sitting for a while, decided to keep moving. Jack, walking with a stick and Fox, holding the meager supplies they'd gained; They had followed Peeta's advice and had mostly avoided the Cornucopia.

"Let's keep moving. Maybe we'll find a lake or a berry bush for food and water!"

Grudgingly obliging, the pair set off into the woods.

Enobaria bared her teeth. It was good that three of her tributes had followed her directions and joined the Career pack. She wasn't sad when her other foolish tribute, what was his name- Kay? No, Kai- got shot in the back by a tribute of that insufferable Katniss Everdeen's. Oh, well. She'd find a way to kill him off.

"Kill her, you fool! She'll come back and kill you!" Enobaria growled at her screen, seeing another tribute of the "Mockingjay" steal out of the Cornucopia with a bag of supplies and a bow. She watched as he threw his axe, and it- missed? That tribute had dropped to her knees! She slammed her hand on the desk she sat at, drawing looks from half the victors in the Victor Spire.

Johanna smirked, earning a death stare from Enobaria. She turned back to focus on her tributes, two of which survived the Bloodbath. A clever thirteen year old, and a aggressive seventeen year old. Before the games, when hearing her decision to join the Careers, the thirteen year old had told her, "When the count is down, I'll get up in the middle of the night, slit some of my 'allies'"- she sneered the word in disgust-"throats, and run like a firestorm is behind me." Johanna had nicknamed the girl, Sadie, Tricky.

Johanna watched Tricky finger weapons, probably deciding which dagger to use to backstab a person. She pulled three from a rack, and put them in her pack. Tricky pulled one more dagger out of a crate, the handle carved with the face of a fox, and the blade jagged. Tricky slyly smiled, sliding the blade into a brace on her lower right forearm. She could flick her wrist and the blade would shoot into her hand; Pretty handy, and I'd be able to use this, after, of course, I abandon the Career pack, she thought, slipping back to the Careers.

Beetee and Haymitch had both lost at least two tributes in the Bloodbath. Beetee had totaled up the deaths. Eleven tributes were dead; Johanna had lost two, Peeta, two, Haymitch, three, Enobaria, one, and himself, three. Of course all of Katniss's tributes had lived. She had hinted that she had trained them even outside the Training Center. Typical.

Beetee had looked back at the screen, thinking about the tribute of his that had survived.

"I'm so excited that you're mentoring me! You were my favorite victor, and I watched your Hunger Games over and over again!" the excited 14-year-old had exclaimed, stars in his eyes. "I even started getting in electricity because of your games! Thank you!"

Beetee smiled at the kid and said, "Maybe I'll send you spool of wire, so you can make an electrical trap like I did! Would you like that?"

The already starstruck kid nodded his head fast. "Yes! That would be great! Thank you, Beetee!" the boy leaned down to Beetee's wheelchair and had given him a hug, much to the mentor's surprise.

You're welcome, Beetee thought, returning the hug.

Beetee sighed. He was going to try to get that boy, Glaze, out of this arena. He'd try his best. There wasn't much he could do now, though. Night had fallen on the tributes, and since the first day was a little slow, nothing was happening. Beetee wheeled out of the Victor's Spire, the lights turning off automatically as he left.

Woah, guys! Almost 1200 words! What a monster of a chapter... Anyways, did you like it? What did you hink of Tricky and Glaze? Do you have any suggestions for other tributes? Leave a review if you do! Until next time,
