"WHAT?! How do you not know what Hot Topic is?! Oh my god I'm raising a freaking-" Brendon was interrupted by me.

"Pleb," I said simply, keeping up with Brendon.

"What?" He stopped and faced me, confused.

Brendon and I were at the mall looking for stuff to fill my room with. Since I didn't have any clothes or any furniture of my own, Brendon thought it was for the best. We were running through errands and doctor's appointments, and later I would be ordering glasses.

"Plebs were Roman townsfolk, it's typically used as an insult unless you're actually a king and or emperor. In which case, it is used normally over all of your subjects unless you have a higher rank," I rambled as he pulled me into a store.

"Where did you learn that?" Brendon asked, pulling me to the back where tons of shirts hung on walls.

"I took four years worth of Latin in the span of two- Is that your band?" I asked, looking up.

"Yeah! Welcome to Hot Topic," Brendon said, grinning. I looked around. It looked kinda like an alleyway; like we stepped into a completely different area as soon as we walked in. Almost every square foot of space was covered in a merch of some kind. It was so cool.

"Do I have a budget?" I mumbled, looking around.

"Dude, this is me we're talking about. Nope! I just want you to get at least one of all the shirts with my band, Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, or even My Chemical Romance on them," Brendon said. I nodded, looking around again. It was so cool.

"Overwhelmed?" I heard. I turned to see a taller girl smiling at me. She had teal hair (I was completely clueless for a second as to how she got her hair like that), and a beanie on. A choker wrapped its way around her neck. The work clothing, it seemed, was all black. I liked it.

"Yeah," I mumbled. Brendon was pulled away by some fans as I looked around the store once more.

"Well, let's start with this, what's your budget?" The woman came out from behind the counter, leaving her co-worker to cover everyone (one person) in the line.

"My dad said I didn't have one," It felt odd to say that word.

Her eyes widened slightly, "What stuff are you into?" She led me back to the clothes, taking a pair of black overalls and holding it up to my body before putting them back.

"Uhm, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, and My Chemical Romance," I mumbled, messing with my shirt a bit.

"Have you actually listened to them?" She asked, a playful smirk on her face.

"No, but my dad told me to get one of all of their merch," I felt my cheeks heat up as Brendon finally ran back to us.

"Hey Mari, how's it coming?" He asked, running his hands through his hair. The worker, whose name I saw was Kaitlyn, gaped at him. Brendon saw her face and laughed, "I guess you know me-"

"Yeah!" Kaitlyn said, jumping slightly, "I-I listen to your band all the time!" I grinned at her excited expression, and she turned to me.

"But are you his daughter?" She asked quietly.

"Yeah, I adopted her yesterday. Please don't advertise that though, I'm waiting until she's comfortable before announcing it," Brendon pleaded, wrapping his arm around me.

"Of course, Brendon. Now, you said all of the merch from the Emo Trinity plus Twenty One Pilots?"

It took forever, but we finally left the mall. Brendon had to call his bodyguard Zach up, just to help carry stuff. Zach did have to fend a few people off. We ended up running to the car a total of 5 times before finally finishing our spree.

"Ugh, that was too much," Brendon moaned, sliding into the driver's seat. Zach pulled out from right next to us and left, with half of the stuff I bought. I was 110% sure that Brendon had spent well over a few thousand dollars on me, and I felt kinda bad.

I tackled Brendon in a hug anyway, "Thank you, Brendon." I pulled away for a second to see that Brendon was still stunned. "Uhm... Brendon?"

"What- Oh. Yeah?" He turned around, pulling out of the parking spot.

"Are you okay?" I asked, pulling my phone out to customize it.

"Yup, just thinking how cool you are," He winked at me before driving off. I grinned, turning back to my phone. After a few minutes, Brendon gave me his phone to put contacts in. "Don't put anyone you don't personally know in-"

"So I can't put the Way's in?" I mumbled, scrolling through the contacts.

"I guess, just don't text them until I can get you to meet them," Brendon looked at me out of the corner of his eye. I grinned.

I already had one contact, Kaitlyn- Panic! Fan. I quickly decided that I was going to give everyone nicknames in my phone and possibly keep a note of the "translations".

I kept Gerard, Mikey, Ray, and Frank as their names until I could meet them.

"What about Seth, and Theresa, and John?" I asked.

"You can ask them for their numbers when we get to dinner. If you want, you can put the other guys as your Uncles, since we're all practically family anyway," Brendon pulled into the house, Zach right behind us. I got out and put my phone away, handing Brendon his as we began unloading the back of the cars.

It took us a half an hour, just to get stuff to my room. I collapsed on my bed, exhausted.

"At least I have stuff now," I said.

Brendon poked his head in, "We leave in a few minutes, put a blouse on or something, you can keep the jeans." I nodded and he left. The dogs were barking at something, I didn't really care. I dug through one of the many bags and finally pulled a gray and white blouse. It was really cute, Brendon had picked it out for me at the store. He had a good fashion taste.
