I think one of the major reasons as to why I love Mikan and Natsume so much is how much they banter, revealing major traits of their personality, so I suppose I will include quite a bit of them in this story. Plus, I am going to develop this story qute slowly because that's how I believe love happens. Stay with me.
Mikan's POV
I can't believe the nerve of that guy. How can someone so easily do something as horrible as that without an ounce of regret? I wanted to wipe the annoying sneer that seemed glued to his lips, as if he knew the effect he had on girls and didn't give a damn about it. Aaaaggghhh, I simply hate his guts.
Normal POV
Hotaru watched amusingly as Mikan entered the cafeteria, brows all scrunched up in obvious irritation. She wandered what Mikan had got into now, for it takes considerable amount of effort to make the happy-go-lucky girl mad. She watched as Mikan drew up a chair and sank in it, exhausted from her earlier exchange. "What is it?", Hotaru asked nonchalantly. "Oh, nothing expect one hell of an irritating guy made my day an absolute hell."huffed Mikan. Hotaru's lips twitched in the corners. She has always liked good drama. "What happened?" piped Hotaru. That was definitely the wrong thing to say, because not long after Mikan launched herself into the story completely. In between all the profanities, mindless provocative noises and digressive pathways, the only thing that Hotaru was able to make out was that it was about some "disrespectful", "obnoxious" boy who did not know how to treat woman. What she figured was enough to help her find out the entire story now. She slowly dragged the chair out, careful to not make too much noise, and slipped out of the cafeteria stealthily. It would be quite sometime before Mikan would know that she was missing and by then she would be too far away for Mikan's ear-splitting scream to be of considerable damage.
Natsume's POV
I was still replaying the entire incident in my head, growing madder and madder by the second. I couldn't imagine the audacity of that girl. Can she even envision the dire tragedy that will befall her now that she has made an enemy out of me? I simply can't believe that a freshman had the nerve to actually stand up to me like that and while appreciate such courage I can not possibly allow such incidents to occur in the future, now can I?
Normal POV
Ruke watched, extremely amused, as Natsume sat contemplating a thousand and one ways to get back at that girl. Ruka had found the exchange quite revealing nonetheless very entertaining. Ruka wouldn't mind seeing such converses in the future, after all it isn't everyday that you get to see the eternally stoic Natsume Hyuuga actually show some real emotions.
"You know, I don't think I have ever seen you this riled up about something, especially not a girl" piped in Ruka. He watched as Natsume's eyebrows crunched up as he considered the comment and simply retorted with a silent middle finger salute to Ruka. Ruka's twinkling laughter resonated in the surrounding, stagnant air. "You know you have give this girl some credit Natsume, I have never seen anyone refute you like that, much less a girl." Said Ruka, his interest on this brunette peaking. "I wouldn't really mind hanging out with that girl at all if I get to see you actually feel something for a change." Thoughtfully commented Ruka.
"Can you possibly be any more gay Ruka", Natsume spat out.
Ruka silent laugh took over his body, as he gazed up at Natsume with a knowing look on his face. Natsume hated that look, it was which said that Ruka had something up his sleeve. From the way the conversation was going, Natsume did not like the sound of this at all.
Over at the girls
Normal POV
Hotaru couldn't help but snicker as she calmly watched the showdown in the monitor. No wonder the idiot had gotten so riled up, Hotaru thought. It is not everyday that one met the complete opposite of oneself. She knew that Mikan saw the world in definite shades of black and white, and Natsume Hyuuga came as close to the blackest of black as it is possible for one to come. Hotaru knew one thing, life would definitely be very interesting in Uchicago and she would be ready with her countless cameras in practically every plausible place to deliver what would probably be termed "The Entertainer of the Year". She couldn't help at the small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth just imagining the money that she would rake in.
As in the original Gakuen Alice, the "friends" will have lots to contribute. Next chapter would be mostly about them. Get ready to meet the friend circle.
