Chapter Four

Poisoned

Emma stood in the living room of her and Mary Margaret's apartment, when she turned to find Henry standing in the doorway.

"Henry, what are you doing here?"

"You're leaving?" He asked.

"Henry," She said.

"Why are you leaving?" He asked. Emma frowned. Hating that she had to hurt Henry in this way. But, she did. She slowly walked to him, putting her hands on his shoulders. "I'm sorry, Henry, but I have to go, I can't stay here anymore, it isn't fair-"

"Fair to who?!" Henry fought.

"To your mother," She said.

"You're my mother!"

"Not in that sense, Henry," She said, for tears suddenly beginning to pour.

"Don't go," Henry whispered, coming towards her and she felt arms stretch around my waist.

Dean and Sam Winchester sat in their hotel room.

How could a sheriff find out who they were? Dean sat at the small table, eating the sandwich Sam had gotten him earlier. "We still have a case here, Dean." Sam said.

"What's the point? The case doesn't seem that serious. I wanted to go to Danville, Virginia, they have had sights of a ghost every 20 years, and guess what Sammy? It's the twentieth year! And we're stuck here with this stupid case!"

"It's not stupid, it says that fairytales truly exist!" Sam fought.

Dean laughed, before taking a sip of his beer. "You promised that the case wouldn't be stupid, Sam, there's no such thing as fairytales in real life!"

Sam sighed, rolling his eyes.

"Fine, you can go to Virginia, I want to stay here...because I know that there's a case here!"

Sam went into the restroom to take a shower, while Dean slumped in his chair, still drinking his beer.

Emma hugged Henry, stroking his hair.

"I'm sorry, kid, I have to catch the first flight out to LA."

"You're going that far?"

"I have to go interview for a job."

"Really? A job?" Henry asked.

She silently nodded. "What's that?" Henry asked. Emma looked at where Henry had motioned, and walked towards it. Emma following.

"You can't eat that," Henry said.

"What? Henry, it's a gift...from your mother." Emma said.

"That's the answer right there! It's poisoned!"

"Your mother wouldn't do that,"

"Yes she would! She's the Evil Queen!"

Emma sighed, opening the container and taking out a fork. "If I eat it, will it kill me?" She asked.

"YES!" Henry shouted. Emma sighed, not knowing what to do.

"I'm sorry, kid, but I'm going to need more than just a little fairytale book to know if this dessert is poison or not, kid, you need to grow up before you get hurt." She said, trying to plead with him not to live through the book anymore.

Suddenly, Henry snatched the fork from her fingers before she could say a word.

"No! You may not believe in the curse...or in me, but you need to believe, Emma. Believe." He said, before he took a bite out of the apple pie.

Emma watched with sudden tears in her eyes. She hated that she had put Henry to this. After he taken the bite he stood there. Frowning, then he raised his hand to his stomach.

"Emma...Mo-!" He cried.

"Henry!?" She said, racing to her son's side. "Henry!"
