Hey! Enjoy and leave a comment!
Later that night, the whole gang was in front of the club in a long line, waiting to gain access to the place. In order, it was Khadijah, Regine, Synclaire, Max, Kyle, and Overton. It seemed as if everyone from Brooklyn wanted to get in.
They could barely stay in line, folks were elbow to elbow.
"Man, this long line is ridiculous." Khadijah took notice.
"Tell me about it." Regine pouted.
"Let's just look on the bright side. While we wait, we can play I Spy." Synclaire spoke up with innocence.
"That's my honey bun." Overton blew her a kissed.
"Shoot at this rate we'll be out here until the sun is up." Max commented pessimistically.
"All this closeness is making me claustrophobic. It's seriously not good for my health. " Kyle whined.
Max simply rolled her eyes.
"Ahh boohoo Kyle, nobody cares."
The stockbroker bit his lower lip and frowned.
"Well, I certainly didn't need your input, Maxine."
"And I certainly didn't need you to show your ugly face tonight, yet you did anyway."
Khadijah clenched her fists. She was not going to put up with their childish antics tonight.
"Max and Kyle don't make me come back there and strangle you two."
Luckily for everyone, moreso Khadijah, the line started to move up until the bouncer at the door halted the six friends from coming in.
The bouncer had to be well over 300 pounds and 6'6". He had dark shades on and displayed a nasty scrawl on his face.
Regine turned to her friends and whispered.
"I'm gonna soften that big guy up, just let me do the talking."
"Well, go ahead sister. We're right behind you." Max said and pushed her closer to the bouncer.
Regine straightened herself up, clear her throat, and worked her charm.
"Hey there, what's your name?"
"Tim." The bouncer mumbled hollowly.
"Oh, simply but nice. Hehe. You have nice sunglasses. Calvin Klein?" She asked in interest.
"I got it from the dollar store." He spoke in an offhanded tone.
"Oh, well that's not bad, at least you're saving money." She felt herself become embarrassed.
Khadijah, Synclaire, and Overton actually giggled, while Max and Kyle stood there unamused.
Regine turned to glare at her friends and focused her attention on Tim the bouncer.
"Anyway, me and my friends have been out here for a while and we're getting a little tired of standing around."
The bouncer said nothing yet she continued.
"I know you have a job to do, Tim. But, we really want to get in and have a good time. So what do you say?" She fluttered her eyelashes to emphasize the point.
Tim didn't say anything at first until he took of his shades, showing off his big, hazel eyes and burst into a fit of laughter. Everyone was taken aback by this.
"You know, you're funny, relentless but funny. Tell you what, you and your girlfriends can go in and here."
He took out a pen and a scrap of paper and quickly scribbled something and handed the paper to her.
"Free drinks on me. Just give it to one of the bartenders and he'll know what to do."
"Well, alright now, that's what's up!" Khadijah squeaked.
"Oh, by the way, those two men are also with us." Regine referred to Overton and Kyle.
The bouncer put his shades back on and returned to his stone-faced appearance.
"No problem." That was all he said and moved out of the doorway to let them inside the club.
It was pretty mellow in the place. The music the DJ was play was actually pretty good. Granted, it was still a lot folks inside but not how it was outside. Not only that, it was way cooler inside now that the Spring temperature was going up.
"Well, I gonna get a drink before I scope out some rich dudes." Regine said.
"Shoot, count me in. I want a drink too." Khadijah added and the two friends walked off to the bar.
"Me and Obie are gonna get our groove on!" Synclaire proclaimed.
"That's right my sugar plum." Overton agreed and the couple went over to the dance floor.
The only people left were Max and Kyle.
"Pfft. Those two disgust me with their naivety and innocence." Max referred to Synclaire and Overton and shivered at the thought of them being mushy with each other.
Kyle simply scoffed.
"Well, at least Synclaire has something you'll never have and that's a man." Kyle covered his mouth in fake surprise.
"Oops! Did I say that out loud?" Then he giggled.
"Please don't do it Kyle. Last I heard the only action you've been getting is from your right hand." It was now the Lawyer's turn to laugh.
The Stockbroker rolled his eyes at her petty insult.
"I'll let you have that one because right now I need to focus on working the Barker charm." He fixed his jacket and smirked.
"And one thing I don't need," He continued. "is you ruining my mood."
Max raised her hand and blew him off.
"Whatever, you have just as much charm as a porcupine. Just stay out of my way and I'll do the same for you."
She stomped passed him in annoyance to the other side of the club.
"Stupid freakin' jerk." She mumbled and crossed her arms.
"He's delusional if he thinks any woman would fall for him."
She was so busy getting lost in her thoughts of how much she disliked Kyle that she didn't look where she was going. She accidently bumped into someone, snapping her out of her trance.
"Sorry." Max muttered and proceeded to go about her business until the person opened their mouth.
"It ok Max, I'm just glad to see you tonight."
Max stopped in her tracks. That voice sounded eerily familiar to her.
"I must be hearing things." She convinced herself. "There's no way in hell it could be him."
She dreaded having to face the person but she did anyway and sadly it was definitely who she thought it was.
"Goldie?" She questioned.
"The one and only. I missed you baby girl." Goldie flashed a huge grin showing off his front gold tooth.
Max was in a tight spot.
"Oh God why?!"
Hey you guys sorry for the long wait, I've been working a lot. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. BTW, for those who don't remember, Goldie was that guy from that club episode Great Expectations season 1X06 where he kept trying to get at Max. Anyway, if you have any ideas or just want to talk, PM me. Peace.
