Chapter 4:
It's already been two days into her long break and Hermione is now in the living room at The Burrow. She is there visiting them and earlier she was invited to join them for dinner, and while reading a book in the living room, she heard two cracks, signalling of people apparating there. They are Harry, and his lover, Blaise. The three of them had been invited by the Weasley for dinner since they are the honorary family members. All the Weasley family members had returned home for this special occasion, they are celebrating for the capturing of Dolohov. As Harry and Blaise greeted the occupants in the living room, Molly yelled from the kitchen, telling them that dinner is ready. Ginny and Fleur were in the kitchen, helping Mrs Weasley while Katie is in the living room, playing with the kids. Hermione had wondered whether both Ginny and Katie wanted a child of their own, seeing how loving Katie is towards the children. Upon Mrs Weasley's calling, all of them rushed to the dinner table as Hermione help Katie ushering the children to the kitchen.
"These boys had no manner," Mrs Weasley scolded her children, especially Ron and the twins. Hermione, Ginny, and Harry snorted quietly.
"No one can resist your cooking mum," said Fred as he winked at Hermione. The brunette chuckled, knowing that Fred is only teasing her. The two of them had becomes good friends since after the war.
Dinner at The Burrow was as usually, full with warmness and hectic, thanks to the twins as they pulled a prank on Ron again. This time they turned his hair into long and bushy, bushier than Hermione used to have. Despite Mrs Weasley's scolding, the rest found it to be quite amusing, and funny too, and Luna said that Ron looked like as if his face had been blasted by malfunctioned Blasted-ended Skrewt.
"You'll be a great Gryffindor's mascot," Charlie said teasingly as the rest of them tried not to laugh at the second last of the Weasley brood, even so the twins barked loudly.
"You looked almost exactly like Simba," told Hermione amusedly, though she tried not to laugh at him. Harry choked on his drink before he laughed loudly. Ginny, who had watched the animation, The Lion King, all thanks to Hermione, snorted and tried not to choke on her drink.
"Who's Simba?" Ron asked quizzically.
"Never mind," said Hermione. She knew that once she started explaining to them, they will demand more, especially Mr Weasley.
"Ahem…your attention, please," Mr Weasley spoke as he stood up. All of them turned their attentions to the Patriarch of the Weasley as the elder man held a glass in his hand.
"We are here today to celebrate upon the capturing of Dolohov, and we wanted to thanked and congratulated Hermione for her effort in order to catch this man," said Mr Weasley proudly. All of them raised their glass as well as Mrs Weasley looked at Hermione proudly.
"Thank you," Hermione spoke. The rest of them clapped their hands and began to resume to their dinner.
xoxoxo
"Thank you for inviting me for dinner, Mrs Weasley," said Hermione, she hugged the elder woman as she is about to apparate home. It is getting late and she needs to go to her parents' house tomorrow morning.
"You are welcome dear. I hope you will have a great time during your long break, and don't forget to say hi to your parents," Mrs Weasley replied.
"Will do, anyway I have to go, see you again next time." Hermione excused herself as she went to the yard and disapparated back to her flat.
As Hermione apparated into her apartment, she takes off her robes and goes to the washroom to get clean and then changes her attire into short pant and sleeveless shirt. She even takes off her bra for she preferred to sleep without having pressure on her chest. She set on her alarm and then grabs a book to read before she goes to bed. Even with a book in her hand she still thinking of Xanxus, and she couldn't helped herself about it. She even wondered since the first day she saw him, why was she drawn to him of all the people? And what of that inner flame that she sensed coming from him, is he even a normal muggle? Question after question are playing in her mind regarding the one Xanxus.
Thinking that reading won't do any help, Hermione switched everything off and keep the book at the table stand before she goes to sleep.
The very next day
Hermione is helping her mother preparing lunch as the twins are in the living room with their father. Mr and Mrs Granger are taking a day off since starting tomorrow they needed to go to the south of England to attend a dentistry conference for three days and left Hermione to be in charge of the twins.
As for the twins, both Jamie and Anna are very happy to see their older sister again. They haven't seen her for months since she was busy trying to capture Dolohov who was on the run. Both are bright children, but Jamie is the smarter one, and he had a smart mouth, too. Anna had a slightly bushy hair like her mother, and both of them are brunettes and had honey-brown eyes, just like Hermione.
As Hermione and her mother, Diane Jean Granger, had almost done with lunch the preparation, the twins come into the kitchen with their toys and books in hand. They put everything on the dinner table as Mrs Granger stares at them sternly.
"Children, no books or toys on the table during lunch," she told them though the twins just smiled at her.
"But mummy, Betty wants to eat too, isn't that right Betty," Anna said as she held her doll tightly in her arms.
"Oh God, she is having a delusional again. Anna, face it, Betty can't talk, can't eat, and she can't even go to the bathroom," Jamie spoke and rolled his eyes at his twin while Anna stuck her tongue at him. Hermione almost choked on the water she drank, she knew that Jamie is smart, but she never knew that he is this smart, especially for a five year old kid.
"Oh dear, here they go again," said Mrs Granger, Hermione, on the other hand, tried not to laugh. Having her own siblings had taught her so much of being patience. And in spite of their behaviour, she loves them so much. She was once jealous of Ron and Ginny for having so many brothers, and thought that she will remained as the only child in her family in her entire life. But after the war had ended and when she went to Australia to retrieve her parents back, she was shocked when she found out that her mother was pregnant and she will have siblings of her own, and she was very happy about it. And that was years ago, and now her siblings had grown up, and despite the big differences in their age, Hermione never felt that she was quite old for having younger siblings. In fact, those two made her feel so young again.
"Alright you two, now put all your things away because we are going to have our lunch now," Hermione told them as the twins pouted. Hermione then proceed to put everything on the table as the twins puts away their books and toys and called upon their father who is still in the living room, reading his newspaper.
Lunch went smoothly, despite the twins' constants bantering, though there's no hard feeling for the two of them. Both Jamie and Anna had reminded Hermione of the Weasley twins, Fred and George, although these two are very much different from the famous Weasley twins, maybe because they are a boy and a girl.
"So Hermione darling, what is your plan to do since you are now having a long break from work?" Mrs Granger asked. The mother and daughter are cleaning up the table and dishes after lunch.
"I don't know mum, but I'm planning to go to Italy," Hermione told her.
"Italy, is there anything interesting over there?" Mrs Granger asked and Hermione fought the urge to blush when the image of Xanxus appeared in her mind.
"No, no reason, I just want to go there and umm…have a visit," Hermione lied to her mother; she is hoping that her mother won't suspect of anything.
"Okay then, Italy sound great, so just Italy, or is there other places as well?" Mrs Granger questioned her, this had Hermione to had a deep thought inside her mind, she wanted to have a vacation with her family, but for sure Italy is going to be the last place in her vacation's list, she wouldn't want to risk searching for Xanxus while having her family with her.
"Well…I was wondering if you and dad are going to have a vacation as well, so maybe we can go as a family to, whichever you are planning," Hermione spoke as her mother looked at her.
"Hmm…we do think about it and your dad and I have planned to take your younger siblings to Switzerland in two weeks time, so would you like to join us as well?" Mrs Granger asked.
"Switzerland, that's sound nice, sure I would love too," Hermione responded as her mother smiled at her.
"That's good news. It's been a while since we have a vacation together as family, so when are you planning to go to Italy?" Here comes the crucial question.
"I'm not sure yet when, but it is in my holidays' list," said Hermione, telling that more to herself than to her mother.
"Don't worry about it darling, I'm sure that you have plenty of time to plan for everything," replied Mrs Granger as she put the last dish into the cabinet.
"Sure is," answered Hermione as she joined her mother to the living room.
Next day
"So remember to listen to your sister, and don't try to be naughty, alright," said Mrs Granger to the twins as both Jamie and Anna nodded, despite still being sleepy both of them didn't want to miss sending their parents away as both Mr and Mrs Granger are leaving to the south of England this very morning for their three days conferences. Hermione just stood there behind them as Mr Granger put their belonging into the car boot.
"Okay mummy, we promise," the twins spoke at once.
"Good, well now your dad and I have to go, so Hermione darling, everything is in order, and if you need anything from the grocery mart…"
"I will bring them along as well, I remember that, mum," said Hermione. Mrs Granger smiled proudly at her eldest daughter. She then gave each of them a kiss on the cheek and the children then gave their father a hug before both Mr and Mrs Granger enter into the car and drive away as Hermione and her younger siblings waves their parents' goodbyes.
After their parents had left Hermione goes to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast while the twins switch on the television. Hermione is preparing some eggs, bacons, toasts, milk for the twins and tea for herself for their breakfast. As she puts the foods on the table, her mobile phone ringing and she quickly answers it.
"Hello," Hermione greeted.
"Morning Hermione, how are you today?" Came the reply, it was Harry.
"Morning Harry, I'm good, how about you?" Hermione responded as she called upon her younger siblings for breakfast.
"Fine, fine, I just want to ask, are you free today?" Harry said. The twins come rushing to the kitchen and seat on their places.
"Yeah I'm free, though I had to babysit my younger siblings since my parents just went for their conferences," Hermione answered.
"Oh alright, just wonder, can I come to your place today?" Harry asked.
"Oh sure, you can come over here, no problem with that," Hermione replied as she poured tea in her cup.
"Alright thanks, I'll...Blaise and I will come around afternoon, lunch hour, yeah around that time," Harry spoke.
"Sure, no problem, I'll prepare lunch as well," Hermione responded.
"Okay, thanks, see you later, bye," said Harry before they ended their call.
"Who is it?" Anna asked Hermione expectedly. Jamie, on the other hand, is busy stuffing himself with bacon and toast.
"My friend Harry, he and another friend will come to visit us this afternoon, so you two better behave, alright," Hermione told them as the twins nodded understandingly.
Harry had never met the twins before; he had heard about them from Hermione but never had the chance to meet them himself. He and the Weasleys had heard about Hermione siblings few months after the war had ended, though it took them by surprise, yet they are very happy for her.
The twins too had never met Hermione's best friends; they had heard about Harry and the Weasleys and also knew that the Weasleys had a pair of mischievous twins in the family. And they also knew about the Wizarding world, and they had been promised their sister that they will not talked about it with other people.
xoxoxo
Harry and Blaise stand outside the door of the Granger residence as Harry pressed the doorbell. Both men are standing patiently though Blaise couldn't help but wanting to hold the hand of his lover. Blaise clasped Harry's hand tightly and both men looked at each other lovingly, as none had slightly aware that the door's opened, and standing there watching them is Jamie. The little boy is pretty shocked to see the sight before him, two grown men are holding each other's hand tightly, and why they are looking at each other like that, it's how his dad looked at his mum before they kissed. That was gross.
"Yes, can I help you?" Jamie enquired, startled the two wizards. Seemed that they had forgotten that they were still holding each other's hands, and Jamie stares between their faces and their clasped hands.
"Is this the Granger residence?" Harry asked, though Jamie didn't seem to notice as he is busy looking at their clasped hands with widen eyes. Harry quickly let go of Blaise's hand as he noticed it and pretended to clear his throat loudly, which startled the little boy as he looked at them with narrowed eyes.
"Is this the Granger residence?" Harry asked again, tried not to flush. Blaise pretended to wipe the invincible stain in his robe though his face is slightly reddened.
"Yes," Jamie simply answered, though he still looked at them warily.
"Is…is Hermione home" Harry stammered.
"Yes, please wait…Hermione, there's two weird men looking for you," Jamie called loudly upon his sister. He then turned his attention to the two wizards who are still standing at the door.
"Weird men, who are they?" Hermione called out, she was somewhere inside the house.
"It's us, Harry and Blaise. Hermione, whe…where are you?" Harry responded. Jamie looked at him with widen eyes. So, this is Harry, his sister's best friend, but why is he holding the other man's hand, are they in a…relation?
"In the kitchen, please come in," Hermione replied as Jamie gave them way for the two wizards to enter. He still looked at them weirdly as he shakes his head and made his way to the kitchen and muttered "Weird men" all the way as Harry and Blaise looked at each other before the former speak.
"I think that we just have met Jamie Granger, Hermione's little brother,"
Blaise nodded understandingly, and few seconds later Hermione come out from the kitchen to greet them.
"Hey Harry, Blaise, sorry I was in the middle of cooking something, so please have a seat, I'll make you a drink," told Hermione. The two nodded as Hermione went back to the kitchen. Both Harry and Blaise still slightly embarrassed for their little 'incident', they wouldn't mind if it was Hermione, but this was her little brother, Jamie. Hermione would kill them if she finds out, she would, definitely. And not long after that they are greets by a little girl who looked slightly like Hermione when she was young, this is definitely Anna, the twin of Jamie.
Back in the kitchen Jamie is still sporting with that slightly horror-struck looking face, he cannot brushed away the imagine of Harry Potter, the best friend of his older sister, holding a hand of another man, just like how his parents would do when they are into their lovey-dovey mode.
Hermione, who is making some drinks for her guests, noticed it and looks at him curiously. Did something just happen?
"Jamie, what's wrong?" Hermione asked his little brother worriedly.
"Hermione is Harry and the other man, are they together, are they having a relationship?" Jamie asked with wonder.
"Wha…what do you mean?" Hermione stuttered as she was pretty shocked. Did they just do something in front of her little brother?
"Well, I saw them holding hands, like mum and dad did, and then I saw them looked at each other like mum and dad did before they do that…eurghhh….kissy, kissy thing," said Jamie as he shuddered. Hermione bit her lips, tried not to laugh loudly, though she feel bad for her little brother, and reminds herself to give a 'good talk' to both Harry and Blaise later.
"Well, I don't know how to say this, but whatever it is is between them, and umm…Jamie, promise me you won't tell anyone about this, not even to mum and dad, and Anna, okay?" Hermione said as Jamie looked at her weirdly, adults are surely weird.
"Okay," Jamie answered, he was quite hesitated. Hermione ruffled his hair before she goes to the cabinet to takes out cups and saucers. This is going to be a long day.
Somewhere in Italy
Xanxus was quite bored, there's nothing for him to do these past few days. The meeting with the current Boss of the Vongola and their allies was all nothing but normal, and pretty boring as there's nothing much to be reported. The Vongola had found out about the incident that happened about two weeks ago, the one that the Varia had been dealing which had involved a weird, cunning, and dangerous man who used a weird stick to fought against them, though Xanxus had left out the information about Hermione. He doesn't want them to find out about her. And since he didn't mention anything about the beautiful brunette who had helped them, or more of them helped her to captured him, his subordinates didn't as well, they are not risking themselves with his wrath should they opened their mouth and informed the rest of the mafia about her. They had been warned by Squalo, if anyone going to bring up the issue about the young woman, Hermione, it should be their boss.
Apart from that Xanxus had been thinking of Hermione, after she and those people disappear from that place along with that bastard of a scum, her face still linger in his mind. He can't stop thinking of her and wondering of what exactly she is. It's been almost two weeks already and he is still looking for some answer to his question. From time to time he tried to figure out what is she, and despite that he still haven't got a clue yet. He might not admit it loudly but he is hoping to see her again, and demand the explanations to all his questions.
And one more thing that he didn't want to admit to anyone, he is having a weird sense of feeling deep inside his heart, something that he had never felt before in his life, he's been yearning for her. To add to that, his instinct had been telling him that he will see her again somewhere in the future, and for that to happen; only time will tell.
A/N 2: So, here you go, the fourth chapter and I have to admit that this chapter is not the best one I guess, and it is quite difficult too so I hope that I didn't disappoint any of you badly for this one...
Anyway please review, it will help me a lot for the upcoming chapters XD
