Willow and Giles hurried back to Buffy's house only to find that Xander, Angel, and Cordelia had left. Wherever they had gone, it was clear a struggle had taken place in the house. Furniture was destroyed and thrown across the room. The place reeked of ugly smells from demons. Willow became worried for her friends and Cordelia.

"This is not good," Giles observed obviously, taking off his glasses and cleaning them with his shirt. He was deep in thought. There was nowhere to go from here, as it seemed. Another power source was the only reason he could come up with for the costumes to remain real after destroying the Janus statue. He and Willow had searched around Ethan's for a little while, searching for any clue as to what the other power source could be, but they found nothing.

They should've searched more, but Willow was worried about Xander, Angel, and Cordelia. Apparently, she had a right to be worried.

Now, neither Willow nor Giles knew what to do. Not only were they missing, but Buffy was still missing as well. Maybe she had come here previously and left with Xander, Angel, and Cordelia? Or what if she had shown up once they were gone and before Willow and Giles arrived? And then, of course, what if she couldn't even remember who she was, like Xander couldn't?

"Giles, I'm worried," Willow confided in him. Nervously she crossed her arms around her showing stomach area. It still made her feel uncomfortable, especially around Giles. "They-they're missing, and what if we can't find them? I mean, Cordelia can't fight, Angel can, but Xander might just shoot them even though they're all just little kids inside and there has to be another way to stop them, right Giles? What are we going to do? Where's Buffy?" Tears appeared in her eyes

"Willow, it'll be okay," he attempted to calm her. "M-maybe a spell can be done to find the other source of power keeping everybody in their costumes. But I'll have to go back to the library to research, then most likely back to the first power source."

"I-I can't come with you," Willow heard herself saying, barely comprehending why she was choosing to go off on her own. "I need to find them. I need to be sure they're not in danger."

Giles nodded, accepting. Willow was capable of controlling her actions, he knew.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" he questioned.

"Yeah," she shrugged. I'm all ghost-like anyway. It's not like anything can attack me."

Without another word, they turned their separate ways. Willow had no other plans just to walk the streets, searching for giant demon hordes in hope of finding her friends. Giles, on the other hand, had a complete schedule. First the library, then back to the costume shop to do the spell, and finally to the other power source, if everything worked out correctly.

On his way, he kept an eye out for Buffy. He hadn't seen the dress she was wearing, but Willow had described it to him when they were walking back to Buffy's house. He hoped she was okay. He was guessing she was somewhere slaying the demons (albeit that didn't make much sense—why wouldn't she check on her friends first?) or that the dress had taken over her mind like Xander's costume had.

Army Xander, Giles thought to himself. He certainly can't be as awkward as the Xander we have now. He chuckled to himself, and hurried back to the library.

Buffy followed alongside Spike and his minions, playing into the game. Spike had no current plans though, other than to walk around until he picked up Buffy or one of her friend's scents. Then, he'd take advantage of the situation and kill Buffy. That is, if he could actually find Buffy, but of course Buffy knew that would never happen because she was right by his side, and she didn't even know it.

"We have all night, love," Spike kept saying to 'Drusilla'. "No need to rush ourselves. We'll find the Slayer eventually."

She wanted to hurry, though. Whatever had happened to her, she couldn't deal with this without her friends. She was somebody else. She was a vampire. The very thing she was destined to kill. It was like the universe was playing a mean trick on her.

The worst part about this experience was how…different it felt than behind human. She heard things, miles and miles away. And it seemed wherever there was blood, the delicious scent made it to her nose. It was so powerful, so enticing a small growl escaped her lips in spite of her inner disgust with the entire situation. Spike had even looked at her and asked if she would like to feed. Buffy said no.

Still, Buffy was able to control herself. She didn't give in to any of the urges she had, and she remained relatively calm. I'm strong, she thought to herself. I don't need blood. I'll be back to my own body soon and Drusilla's will be gone.

Whether that was true or not, Buffy had no way of knowing. But she believed she'd be back to normal soon. She had to figure that Giles knew what was going on with all the people in costumes, and he and the gang would be able to figure out how to fix all of this mess. If she were to find her friends, she could still help them; because she had a suspicion this all had something to do with the necklace she was wearing, the necklace that couldn't be taken off. It lit up before she turned into who she was. Unless that was a specific specialty of the costume, it had to have something to do with what was going on tonight.

Suddenly Spike grabbed and stopped her.

"You smell that?" he asked, and then took in a deep breath through his nose to smell. A smile curled on his lips.

"Is it one of them?" Buffy questioned, unwilling to use her own nose on purpose.

Spike eyed her strangely. There was something different about his Dru. The way she was talking was more…normal. No riddles, no mysterious meanings behind her words. And the words were quick, falling out of her mouth in a fashion that was not very Dru-like at all. She usually spoke slowly and rhythmically. This was different.

Oh well. Whatever was wrong, he could figure out later. Right now he smelt him. The Slayer's friend. And he wasn't far away. It was exciting, the possibility of the Slayer being so close and hopefully easy to fight. Even if Dru wasn't acting herself, Spike didn't want to ruin the moment.

Surprising most to Buffy, Spike abruptly kissed her right on the lips. Her immediate instinct was to push him away, but before she could Spike had wrapped his arms around her, holding her, and she realized she needed to play the role. She was Drusilla for now, and if she wanted to play this role, she had to, at the very least, let him kiss her.

Buffy didn't kiss him back. But she let herself be kissed.

She didn't enjoy it. And she even felt guilty. But there wasn't much of a choice.

Finally the kiss ended. It was a strange feeling, having someone she hated kiss lips that weren't even her own.

"Let us go kill the Slayer," Spike proudly stated, smiling and staring into her eyes as if searching for something. That was when Buffy realized the truly deep affection he had for Drusilla. She couldn't call it love, for he was a vampire and should feel no such thing, but she didn't know what else to call it. She could see Spike cared for Drusilla in a way Buffy had hoped Angel would care for her.

"Let us go," Buffy repeated slowly after Spike.

Xander, Cordelia, and Angel had no choice but evacuate the house when it became overrun with demons. They ran to an alley where they found Larry as a pirate, wanting to attack. Using his hand-to-hand combat skills, Xander beat the pirate in a few seconds.

"Good job, army boy," the woman in the cat costume—Cordelia—said to him. "You do realize that gun you have there can be used to kill the monsters, right?"

Xander didn't like her. He had no idea how the real Xander felt about this woman, but Army Xander didn't like her. She was unappreciative and loud and disrespectful. Every time she opened her mouth something snotty seemed to fall out. Still, he would protect was his job as a man of the army. And he wouldn't shoot anybody with the gun he had, because Willow had told him not to previously, and he trusted Willow.

At the sound of more demons coming, Angel the vampire found an open door to the warehouse and led them inside. Xander was a bit wary about Angel, but in this situation he had no choice but trust him.

In the warehouse they tried to block all openings/exits, but they could still hear the demons nearing.

The door blew open and in stepped a horde of demons, ready to attack. It took everything in Xander's power not to point his gun and start shooting like crazy.

He saw who the clear leader was. A guy, presumably a vampire. He was tall and well muscled and had blond hair that could be spotted miles away. He wore a cool leather jacket like he thought he was the coolest guy in the world. Standing next to him was a pretty girl with long black hair in a beautiful white dress.

"Spike," Angel spoke softly. "Drusilla. What are you doing here?"

Neither Army Xander nor Angel had seen the dress Buffy wore for Halloween, so none of them could connect the dress to Buffy. Cordelia thought it looked vaguely familiar, but was too distracted to care much about her concerns.

"Where is she?" Spike started turning his head, looking around the warehouse.

"Who?" Xander asked.

"Who do you bloody think? The Slayer. Buffy."

"She's not here, Spike," Angel answered.

"Hm," Spike seemed to consider this. "Well, ain't that a shame? I guess we'll just have to kill you guys then."

To Spike's surprise, he felt a sudden powerful punch to his face coming from Drusilla. He took a step back angrily, confused. What was she doing?

All hell broke loose. All of Spike's demon helpers ran forward, prepared to fight Xander, Angel, and Cordelia.

Drusilla tried to run forward, but Spike grabbed her dress, pulling her back towards him before she could escape after punching him.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" he yelled, holding her tightly in his grasp.

"Let me go!" she screamed. "Xander! Angel!"

But they were too busy fighting their own fights to hear Buffy's screams in Drusilla's voice.

Spike was angry. There was definitely something wrong with Dru, and it was causing him nothing but distraction. He punched her hard, knocking her to the ground. She might not like that later, but Spike didn't feel he had any other options at the moment. He leaned down and picked her up. She tried more yelling and punching his back, but he didn't let go of her. As much as he wanted to help take care of Angel and the others, he had to get Drusilla out of here. He left the warehouse with Drusilla locked in his arms, draped over his shoulder.

Cordelia couldn't fight much, so it was up to Angel and Xander to defeat all of these demons. They tried, but were failing. Xander felt like he had no choice.

He got his gun, pointed it, and started shooting. Quickly the demons were falling to the ground, dead. Cordelia and Angel just let him shoot.

Willow arrived late to the scene due to her being with Giles and going to Buffy's house to look for Xander, Angel, and Cordelia. Instead of arriving to the warehouse before Spike showed up, she showed up after he left with Dru and after all of the demons had been taken care of.

She entered the building, seeing a bunch of demons lying on the ground, dead. The air smelled of gun powder.

Xander, Angel, and Cordelia were standing in the back, taking everything in. When they saw Willow they were all relieved.

She explained to them what had happened with Giles and how until they could figure out the other power source, everyone who was wearing something from Ethan's Costume Shop was going to be stuck in their costumes.

"Is it okay I did this?" Xander asked Willow about the demons he'd shot.

Willow had no choice but shrug. "You had no other choice. It's okay."

Giles didn't know what the other power source was, but he was able to find a locater spell to find the other power source. He did the spell which led him to outside in the night, a few streets away from the warehouse everybody else was in.

He followed the map which led to the power source. When he arrived, he was surprised to see Spike carrying someone over his shoulder who was trying to fight his grasp.

The woman, Giles recognized from one of his books was Drusilla, Spike's partner (Giles could make no connection to the white dress Buffy was eating either). According to the locater spell, the other power source was here.

Could it be possible that the other power source was a vampire? He was too far away to see the ruby necklace, so all he could assume now was that the power source was Drusilla herself. Did that mean they would have to kill Drusilla to stop this spell?

He wasn't sure, and he knew no drastic decisions could be made at this time. Even if Drusilla was the key, they couldn't kill her without someone skilled like Buffy. But Buffy was still missing, as far as he knew.

And really, without Buffy, what could any of them do in this situation?
