Kaito opened his eyes to the bright sunlight shining on his eyes. He groaned and took a while to adjust to the light. After a moment, he opened his eyes fully but still groggy. He sat up and realized he was naked on his office couch. His mind drifted to the events of last night, where Luka and he have engaged in acts of seduction and eventually, well, the rest was history.

Suddenly remembering Luka, Kaitou looked around quickly for his pink-haired secretary but she was nowhere to be found. He looked at his watch and saw it was only seven in the morning. His subordinates would only stream into the office at nine, so he felt fortunate that he still had time to wash up.

Suddenly, his office door opened and Kaitou panicked for a moment. But when he saw Luka appearing, he heaved a sigh of relief.

"You scared me for a moment there." Kaitou said.

Luka chuckled, "I made tea and brought some food for breakfast." She put down the tray on the coffee table. Looking at the scones, sandwiches and the freshly brewed tea, Kaitou suddenly realized his hunger. He looked at Luka, all properly dressed in her crisp white blouse and her black skirt that contoured her curves.

"You woke up early." Kaitou observed.

"It's my duty as a secretary to prepare the schedule for your day." Luka said. Her eyes moved to Kaitou's naked body and giggled, "You should at least get dressed."

The blue-haired man blushed and quickly rummaged through the pile of clothes that laid on the floor and fished out his blouse first. After a quick rush to the restroom and a fast but thorough wash up, Kaitou returned to his office and reached immediately for a coffee and a bagel with cream cheese.

"What is my schedule for today?" Kaitou asked, still slightly dazed from the morning.

"It's not yet nine, you know." Luka said with a slight distaste. "Office hours haven't start yet, and I'm not in the position of your secretary now."

"Sorry," Kaitou mumbled. "So, regarding that...side job, when are you quitting that?"

Luka was quiet for a moment, and Kaitou eyed her. "Very soon. I still need to settle some things there." Her voice was bright, but Kaitou could sense a slight undertone in her voice. He remained silent. Luka was an adult, she should be able to settle her own problems, right? Still, he felt a slight unease at her reaction towards this.

"If there are any complications, let me know." Kaitou said. "I'll help to settle if it is within my ability."

Luka looked up, her eyes lit up at Kaitou's concern. She smiled brightly and nodded happily. She watched Kaito took a bite of the sandwich and sipped his tea, a heavy feeling forming in her belly. She took out her handphone and started to type: We need to talk, and hit to send.

Later at night…

Once again, Luka has returned to Red Velvet. She pulled the hoodie over her head, inhaled the musty night air deeply, and walked in with as much stride as she could muster.

"Tonight is for VIPs only." The security guard said sternly and stood imposingly in front of Luka. Luka recognized him to be Craig, one of the nicer security guards around.

"Craig, it's me, Luka!" Luka said brightly and pulled down her hoodie slightly so he could see her face.

"Luka!" Craig was surprised but pleased. He gave Luka a bear hug, which Luka gladly returned. He was like a big brother to her. "I haven't seen you in a while." Then with a lower voice, he said urgently, "Boss Gakupo is in tonight and his mood has been dangerously good. You might want to be careful, especially after you…" He trailed off and looked at Luka gravely. The pink-haired girl nodded understandingly. She bailed; bailed on a place which practically raised her and provided her with everything she has, which isn't a lot but still everything.

Craig let Luka in, and with slowly and calculated footsteps, she entered Red Velvet. It didn't take her long to find the person she was looking for. The man's long bright purple hair was hard to miss and his voice couldn't go unheard.

"Gakupo." Luka called the purple-haired man's name darkly.

The man turned with a look of annoyance which disappeared the moment he saw Luka. Instead, a smug look replaced his features.

"My my, look what the cat dragged in." Gakupo said loudly, prompting everyone to look at them.

A large group of people became silent and Luka suddenly felt small under everyone's stares. Yet she stood her ground and focused on Gakupo.

"W-we need to talk." Luka said in a quiet but audible voice.

Luka expected herself to be humiliated with some speech about how she had crawled back into some place she wasn't proud of, how she probably had to beg for a favour or anything like that.

"Sure." Gakupo said simply and in a calm voice no less.

Luka's eyes were wide with shock. She'd never expected Gakupo to be this calm. Nonetheless, she followed closely behind him as the crowd parted knowingly for Gakupo.

As Luka looked at Gakupo's back while walking behind him, she played out different scenarios with Gakupo, what he would do and what he would say. She knew this calm facade of his was fake. After all, Gakupo was no simple man.

He has never been simple since the first time Luka met him 4 years ago…
