Chapter 4

Jack and Trinity were spreading evening frost around Burgess when Jack veered off course. Trinity followed, confused. He flew to a house and looked in a window. Trinity watched from a distance, as the kid from earlier acted out his wild ride on the sled, to his little sister and their mom. After a while the mom turned out the light and Jack left, leaving frost on the window.

Trinity dropped down on the ground, as Jack landed on a garage and started talking to Man in Moon, asking questions she had asked once. She knew he was hurting inside, but there wasn't anything she could do.

Trinity turned to finish up their work for the night and leave him alone. But she found herself staring at a wall of fur, and then the bottom of a very large bag. Then she was slammed into the ground.

'Where on earth am I?' she thought. Before she could do anything, the front of the sack was opened and she found herself staring at two elves. Two Christmas elves. Tess groaned slightly. Of all the places she ended up, it had to be North's Workshop. 'Let's get this over with.'

Trinity struggled to get out of the sack and stand up. The material just seem to twist around her and and wrap around her feet. When she finally managed to get out of the bag, she looked around the workshop. It had to be one of the most amazing places she'd seen.

A cough got her attention and she turned to see someone she had been expecting and two Spirits she had not. North stepped forward just as a portal opened and another sack landed on the floor, followed by two yeti's. A hole opened up in the floor and Bunnymund jumped out. 'This is not going to end well." Trinity thought when she saw Bunny.

Jack was lifted out of the sack by the two yeti's and he looked around, as North came up, "Hey! there he is, Jack Frost!" Tooth stops blurting out orders and Bunny glares at the winter spirit. "You know Tooth."

Tooth flew up to him and started looking in his mouth, "Ah, you're teeth really are a white as they say!" She was vibrating in excitement.

"Tooth!" North reprimanded. She backed off. "And obviously you know Bunny."

"Obviously." Jack deadpanned. Trinity snickered, quietly.

"This is, Sandy." Gestured at a sleeping Sandman. "Sandy? Sandy!" Sandy jerked awake and waved at Jack. North then turned to Trinity. "I have heard much about Jack, but not you. Bunny knows you, and what I know comes from him. He seem to have a grudge against you two." At that all three of them, (Bunny, Jack and Trinity) scoffed.

"A grudge? It's more than a grudge. Those two started a blizzard on Easter Sunday, on purpose! And they keep messing with my egg hunts!" Bunny complains

"For the last time cottontail, I wasn't involved! It was Jack who started that blizzard, not me!" Trinity protested.

"Oh, like you weren't involved! You're always around him, making snow storms and spreading misery in the form of frozen water!" Bunny countered.

"Don't talk to her like that! She wasn't involved. I don't know how many times we've told you this, but you still won't listen!" Jack yells.

"Alright everyone, just calm down. We don't need to fight." North tries.

"You're right, we don't. Why don't you just tell us why we're here, then we can leave." Jack snaps.

"Man in Moon wants you two to be guardians." North explains. The elves start blowing trumpets while the two winter spirits stare at North.

"What?" The two are completely shocked. They look at one another then back at the Guardians. "You guys are joking, right? This is all some sort of sick joke you're playing on us!" Trinity accused. The music stopped.

"No. You are mistaken. Man in Moon chooses who will be a Guardian. And today, he has chosen you." North tries.

Before Trinity can say anything, Jack speaks up. "The Moon. He talks to you?" The rest of the spirits are tuned out as Jack looks up at the moon.

Trinity watches him and is vaguely aware of Bunny threatening North about something he said. "Jack? Jack talk to me. What's wrong?" But before Jack could answer her, North pulled her away.

"Let me handle this." He said in his thick Russian accent. "Jack. Walk with me."
