Lazing Around

The next day was the first day of classes. They were the standard normal classes a normal university would have, but it was still odd to be in a room full of undead creatures. Of course, being one myself, I couldn't really say anything.

"Hey, Maggie," Vlad caught up with me on my way out of my last class, "What are you doing later?"

"Helping Lizzie get ready for her date with Robin," I answered, "Why?"

"Since Robin's going out, I don't really have anything to do," he explained, "So I was wondering if I could hang out with you and Chloe."

I said, "Sure, why not? I'm sure Chloe won't mind."

He smiled, "Thanks. You're a lifesaver. Without you, I'd be lying around, bored out of my mind."

"It's no problem," I told him, "What are friends for, right?"

"Yeah," he responded, "Alright, now I have to go calm down Robin. He's probably really nervous."

"Alright," I chuckled, "See you later!"

"See you!" he called back.

(IthinkIjustneedtostopwriting)

"Lizzie, calm down," I ordered, "It's Robin. You know, the big dork in the cape?"

She freaked, "I know, but he had a crush on Ingrid for so long, I feel inferior! What am I going to do?"

"Listen to me," I grabbed her shoulders, "You look amazing. If he wasn't over Ingrid before, he will be when he sees you. Besides, he may be an idiot, but he's not so much of an idiot to pass up someone like you."

"She's right!" Chloe piped up from watching her show, "You look great! I know my brother, he's going to freak out when he sees you."

"You really think so?" she asked us.

"Yes! Now, any minute Vlad and Robin will be here, and Robin will be blown away, and you are going to have a good time on your date," I told her with the utmost confidence. Just then, someone knocked on the door. Lo and behold, it was Robin and Vlad.

"Hello," Robin greeted.

"Hi. Come in, you guys, she's all ready," I said, ushering them in, "Take a seat anywhere, Vlad, make yourself at home."

Lizzie made herself known, "Hi, guys."

"Hi," Robin looked amazed, "Lizzie, you look great."

She blushed, "Thanks, Robin. You look great, too."

He chuckled, "Thanks. You ready to go?"

"Um, yeah, let's go," she said.

"Have fun, you two," I called after them, but they just ignored me and walked out the door.

"So, what are you watching?" Vlad asked us, sitting down on the couch.

"The Walking Dead. They're having a marathon, and I find their portrayal of zombies interesting," Chloe explained.

"Allow me to translate," I teased, "She thinks Daryl Dixon is hot."

"Hey!" she threw a pillow at me, "I do not!"

"Denial is all I'm hearing," I laughed, "Oh, come on, Chloe, it was just a joke."

"A funny one, if I might add," Vlad backed me up, chuckling.

"I know," she grinned, "Besides, you're not wrong."

"See, I knew it!" I claimed, hitting her with the pillow, "That's what you get for lying!"

"Is this a normal night for you two," Vlad questioned, looking amused at our actions.

I answered, "No. Sometimes it's over Captain America." That got everyone to laugh.

(Imean,ifIdon'tupdatewhyshouldIwrite)

"Wow, that is a really good show," Vlad said after we were done watching it.

"Isn't it?" I agreed, "But now what are we going to do?"

"Well, I think Chloe's went to bed, so we could just talk," he offered.

I responded, "Alright. What did you have in mind?"

"Why didn't Lizzie didn't want to be in Vampire at first?" he asked me.

I answered, "I'm not really sure. She said something about her sister, but she never outright said what happened."

"Huh. We'll I suppose it isn't my business anyway," he sighed, "I should have never asked."

"So, you're Count Dracula's son, huh?" I commented, "How's that like?"

"It can get absolutely awful," he answered, "He puts all this pressure on me and it can get overwhelming."

I put a hand on his shoulder, "I'm sorry to hear that. I can't imagine between him and Ingrid you were always happy."

"Not always, but when we moved, I met Robin and we've been best friends ever since," he chuckled, remembering the past, "Although, he got me in some trouble sometimes."

"I can imagine that," I laughed, "Can you tell me about why Ingrid's so... Ingrid?"

"She's a girl, so in the eyes of my father, she's inferior," Vlad explained, "It doesn't matter if she was the better vampire. Since I'm the boy, I'm the favorite."

"That's awful!" I exclaimed, "A father should love his children equally!"

Vlad said, "Yeah, well, my father never got the hang of the 21st Century." We kept on talking, and soon enough, I had drifted off. Vlad just smiled and put a blanket around me before falling asleep myself. Robin and Lizzie would return to find us sleeping on the couch. Instead of waking us up, like normal people would, they left us there, not wanting to wake us up. When I asked Lizzie why later, she would respond that it looked cute, which would cause me to blush. But, I wouldn't regret it. I got to find out more about my friend, while introducing him to a good show in the process. I would only have more moments like this with him, getting closer and closer to him with every time we talked. Until we were finally as close as we could be. And to think it just started as lazing around!

And once again, I am pitiful. Two years. Two years since I last updated this story. Disgraceful. I don't even have a valid excuse, I just forgot. Well, not anymore. I am going to make sure I don't take another two years to update this, or any of my other stories.

Justin: Promise?

Me: Promise. After all, now that I'm heading into my senior year, things should be calming down soon.

Justin: We'll see how true that is later. For now, we hope you are still enjoying the story, even though you probably forgot all about it by now!
