Previously on the Wilted Rose:
"Hey! I need those! I used to have contacts but I lost them last week." Haruhi's protests were swiftly ignored by the two mischievous twins, while they stared in awe at the major change that had occurred. From dorky and pathetic, Haruhi had taken on a whole new appearance, becoming a more radiant being within seconds. All because of those hazel eyes.
Currently:
Following the twins discovery, there had been a slight pause within the third music room, as everyone was in a slight disbelief at all the potential attractiveness Haruhi held, and already exhibited, without her glasses hindering her. Haruhi just looked nervous at the hosts almost calculating gazes, eyeing her cousin who only watched from a distance as she sensed no ill will from the hosts. Suddenly, the hosts sprung into action, calling stylists and professionals of every assortment and tugging Haruhi this way and that. Kagome remained off to the sidelines as the hosts went about their ordering and what not, allowing them to give Haruhi a free makeover as they dealt with whatever epiphany they were having. In fact, Kagome just indulged in some cake with Honey, who was glad to have company, and only stepped in when the twins barged into her cousins changing room.
Kagome grabbed the pair by their respective collars, paying her slightly embarrassed cousin a nod before she gave them a swift kick out of the area. They let out identical 'oomph's' as they made contact with the floor, and remained fairly dazed until realization dawned in their eyes. Kagome found that it was a rather amusing sight, watching the color drain out of their faces as they finally understood Haruhi's true gender. True, her cousin wasn't as well developed as others, but Haruhi was absolutely feminine.
Haruhi's hazel eyes sparkled with innocence, with long lashes further accentuating such. She had a petite frame, something that ran in the women of the family, and her cheeks were always flush with life. She had soft features, and a small button nose. Haruhi was definitely every bit the soft spring day that her name suggested her to be, a sweet breath of life after the cold hands of winter finally released their hold on the world. It was obvious to all that she was female, except for those of the rich, spoiled variety.
Biting another piece of cake, Kagome turned as she noticed Haruhi's aura had neared the opening of the changing room. The soft swoosh of the changing room's curtains ceased any noise as the hosts awaited for their newest masterpiece to reveal herself. Her caramel brown hair was brushed neatly, although her bangs hid her face. Haruhi's head was bowed and her shoulder lightly hunched into herself, hands lightly clasped in front of her as she awaited the club's reactions.
Kagome could easily read her cousins insecurities, if not by her body language then by Haruhi's anxious aura. A quick glance to the hosts lead her to roll her eyes at their mutual dumbstruck appearance, none of them having anticipated Haruhi to change to such a degree. With languid stride, Kagome made her way to Haruhi, her scarred hand tilting her cousins chin slightly upwards with her inch tall height advantage, "You look beautiful, Haru. No need to be shy."
Haruhi smiled, and as if on cue, the rest of the hosts began to bombard her with compliments. Glancing up at the clock situated in the corner of the music room, Kagome saw that they had passed the time in which Haruhi and herself were supposed to have left for the station, "Haru, it's time to go."
Her words ceased the hosts steady wave of affectionate words, as they too regarded the clock at the corner of the room. Nodding her head, Haruhi gathered her things before linking arms with Kagome and they faced the double doors, ready to take on whatever life threw at them.

Blue eyes snapped open in the midst of the night, dark pupils focusing in the black of the bedroom. Kagome sensed demon nearby. A quick glance to her right proved Haruhi to be deep asleep, so Kagome swiftly got ready for the night ahead of her. She threw off her pajamas to reveal an all black outfit underneath, consisting of spandex leggings, and a simple tank top. Reaching under her bed, Kagome located a black t-shirt, and tugged it over her head to accompany her said outfit. Placing a hand on her neck, Kagome reassured herself that her weapon necklace was clasped on her neck, containing the shrunken forms of her friends weapons. Just as she made way for the window, did Kagome draw out her sword from her necklace, pushing her energy into it so that it assumed its original size. It was light, but deadly, and forged by Sesshomaru's fang. He had given it to her as repayment for saving Rin's life one night when he had been unable to do so, and had even trained her so that his gift wasn't a useless token of appreciation for his daughters life. A shiver ran up Kagome's spine as she jumped out the window, memories of her late night training sessions with Sesshomaru being brought to the forefront of her mind.
Landing on her feet, Kagome promptly ran into the darkness to locate her possible enemy. She an past shop windows and people, not sparing any a glance in the dark night. Taking a sudden right down an alleyway, Kagome came face-to-face with three large snake demons, their shoulders pressed together as they stood over a young female, who was cowering into an alley wall. Immediately after assessing the situation, Kagome kicked the first demon int the mouth, who had violet lips, providing an open space in the snake's tight formation. Kagome was fast to grab the young woman, who seemed older than Kagome an gently pushed her out of the alleyway and towards a brightly decorated antique shop. The relieved woman nodded her thanks, offering Kagome a quick bow before she scurried away.
"You bitch! How 'are you ssave our 'inner," screamed the first demon, his jaw broken and unaligned properly.
The other two hissed their agreement, "I guessss you'll jusst have to make up for it," the replied in union, unable to stop elongating their "s's" due to their lineage. Kagome glared at them, using her miko ki to conduct a quick assessment of the three.
It appeared as though the one with the violet lips was the weakest, despite the fact that he had assumed the position of leadership. One of the remaining two had a scar going horizontally across his forehead, while the other had ugly warts that rand along the length of his chin and sprinkled his hands. Scarface was the strongest, leaving Frog Prince in second. It was obvious that Scarface was the true leader, based not only in his power but the way the others casually looked onto him for approval, but Frostbite had taken the position as leader to keep Scarface in the play if he were to be killed.
After her assessment, Kagome got into fighting position, relaxing herself as she prepared for battle. At ease, Kagome spat into Scarface's eye, challenging him with her action.
"GET THE WENCH!" he roared, hissing at his newly blind eye, Kagome's ki infused spit scorching his eye to no return. The other two charged, releasing as sharp battlecry in their advance with Scarface cursing in the background. Kagome readied her sword in front of her, her feet sliding into an efficient sword position, her sword flashing in the weak light of the alleyway. Kagome's eyes were calculating as she observed the pair, and she suddenly joined the pair in their charge. Kagome ran past the snake's though, and swiftly decapitated Frostbite in her movements. Blood sprayed against her back.
"Orochi!" came the conjoined cry of his fellow snake demons, shock and sadness present in their call. Frostbite's- or Orochi's- head rolled over to where his comrades stood, pained tears building up in Frog Prince's eyes. Kagome waved her hand over what remained his slightly twitching form, before his corpse was purified into ash. With her finger pointed at his head, an electric shot of pink energy turned his head into ash before his comrades feet. Realization dawned in their eyes, as they finally understood what she was.
"Miko," murmured Scarface, his voice low as he glared at Kagome with his remaining eye, one of his hands held up to the what had once been a perfectly functioning eye. Kagome resisted the urge to roll her eyes, disappointed that they hadn't figured out what she was the moment she entered the alleyway. It was obvious that she was a miko, and she had even used her miko ki to purify Scarface's eye, after all.
"Now you're definitely gonna pay, wench!" shouted Frog Prince, his eyes turning into slits and his pupils gaining a more viper-like appearance. Frog Prince transformed, allowing his beast to take over as he grew to be a snake that was more than triple Kagome's size. The warts on his snout remained, oozing out a neon liquid that hissed, much like he did, when it made contact with the earth.
He spat venom at Kagome, melting the spot where she once stood. Kagome had instantly gone on edge when he had transformed, and was quick on her feet to avoid any of his attacks directed at her. Even now, after spending a year in the feudal era and gaining many demon friends, Kagome couldn't understand why everything about demons had to be acidic. A lot of demons, if not the majority, had at least one acid focused attack. Dodging yet another acid filled attack, Kagome ran and hurled herself at Frog Prince, and with a flick of her wrist, sliced off his long tongue.
The snake hissed in pain, or at least attempted to, after his tongue had been relieved of his person. His fury only grew, and with a speed that not even he knew he possessed, Frog Prince striked. Kagome tried to twist out of the way, and was able to save herself from the brunt of his attack, but his attack still made its mark. His fangs tore through the skin of her right arm, and created a long, deep gash, tearing off part of her short sleeved shirt in the process. He smirked at Kagome as she finally reached the earth, his venomous fangs glinting in the light of the moon. Growling in distaste, Kagome retaliate, and shot her ki at Frog Prince.
Her aim faired true, leaving Frog Prince in the same state as his brother, noting but a heap of deep black ash. Kagome turned to face Scarface, eyeing him as she sheathed her sword, "Fair and square?"
"Fair and square."
Sliding into her fighting stance, Kagome waited for Scarface's attack, and attack he did. His punch was fast and powerful, not unlike her own, yet his stance was sloppy, causing him to be unable to channel all his power into the punch. Kagome slipped to her left, avoiding the jab directed to her face with her hands held up in fists at her chin. Taking advantage of Scarface leaving himself open, Kagome double jabbed him straight in the nose; he had failed to keep his hands up and protecting his most vulnerable area, his face.
He took the hits, his nose breaking easily under her punches. Turning her left foot to a ninety degree angle adjacent to her body, Kagome swiveled her hips to her foot, and committed a harsh roundhouse kick to his waist. He grimaced, but grabbed her ankle and twisted. In response, Kagome uppercut his once again open face, hitting his chin so hard that he was sent flying up into a wall. But, his grip on her ankle had remained tight, causing him to pull kagome up with him. The crunching of brick alerted her of his impact, and for a single, stupid moment, Kagome closed her eyes and braced for her own impact.
Even with the shock of her impact, Kagome hadn't expected to be impaled through the stomach.
Blue eyes flared accusingly at the snake demon before her, holding a sad excuse of a sword in her stomach, he himself instead ignoring her look and instead favoring to show pride at the acid lubricated metal. Gravity caught up with them, and as they fell down to ground level, did Kagome willingly slide her body further down the sword that separated them. Soft wisps of her power exuded from her as she grabbed the snake's neck, deciding that she would give him a bit of pain before his death. Hands tinged with power, Kagome grasped his neck and began to trickle her ki into his being.
His scream rang clear in the dark alleyway, until they vanished with one last flare of her power.
With ash coating her, Kagome reached the ground alone. Taking hold of the hilt, Kagome tugged the sword out of her stomach, tossing the useless thing to the side. A soft kick dispersed the ashes of the three demons, before Kagome released the subconscious barrier she had put upon the secluded alleyway. Taking one last glance around, Kagome ran once again, ash slipping off her as she made it to the open window of the Fujioka household. Grabbing her bandages, Kagome silently wrapped her arm, stomach, and ankle before glancing at the alarm beside her bed. She had four hours of sleep before it was time to get ready for school. With a deep breath, Kagome burrowed herself under her covers, and allowed the nightmares to reign.
