Isabelle was worried, Clary and Simon had been missing for over 4 hours, and now Jace was doing who knows what. Her conversation with him had been very brief and it had only made her more distressed, Jace tended to do rash thing in times of trouble, things that often got him hurt and heaven forbid this time get him killed. He had seemed shaken up shortly after he had talked to Jocelyn. Thinking back on it Isabelle should have known something was wrong, Izzy had driven back to the institute and Jace told her he was going to take the car out to look around, Isabelle had thought it was best considering everything that was going on, so her and Alec had hotwired one of the old vehicles near the institute. She knew deep down she should have insisted Jace stay with them, but it was too late now.
Clary felt like the whole world was collapsing, here she was in a cold, dark dungeon leaning on her brother for support, since he had put that nasty rune on her, and staring at her best friend lying limp on the floor with a nasty looking bruise blackening the left side of his face.
"Please Sebastian," Clary pleaded, "can you give him something to eat, he looks like he's about to die."
Sebastian looked down at her, "you really think I care about your blood sucking friend here?"
Clary shoved Sebastian hard towards the wall, all pretences of cooperation and willingness to be with him vanishing, "you sick evil, disgusting j-" Clary couldn't say another word before her knees buckled and she fell hard on the stone floor.
"Now, now then Clary y-"
"What rune did you put on me?!" Clary yelled outraged.
"Ahhh, so even the rune wizard Clary doesn't know every rune out there," Sebastian said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Maybe if you ask nicely I'll tell you,"
Clary growled. "Fine" she said, fake politeness coating each word, "could you tell me what rune you put on me, please."
Sebastian laughed, not a nice happy laugh instead it was a cruel, mean laugh that made Clary want to punch him in his worthless face.
"Now then," Sebastian said, picking Clary up and swinging her over his shoulder, "I have some business to attend to, say goodbye to your little friend, you probably won't be seeing him again."
And with that, Clary blacked out.
