I'm kind of surprised at how long I haven't updated this story, let alone any of my fics. Sorry to those who waited too long for this. I'm hoping to get some more work done for this fic. More chapters to come some over the next few days. A good number, I plan on ending the beating the fan girl team arc and moving onto the first match in the tennis tournament. For those of who didn't realize I intend on following the manga and for any episode of the anime i enjoyed I plan on making a special chapter. Some things may deviate, but whatever, by now I'm just blabbing. Anyways if you read all this thanks for taking the time to read my nonsensical blabber. Hope you enjoy this chapter. Let me know what you think and where I can improve.

DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN PRINCE OF TENNIS IN ANYWAY. I ONLY OWN THE OCs MENTIONED BELOW (Rie, Kyoko, Airi, Kimiko, Saori, and Nakazawa) AND THIS FIC.

Rie sat happily at her desk, humming a tune to herself. She smiled, nodding her head side to side while tapping her fingers against the school desk. Ryoma noticed his twin's strangely energetic demeanor and side eyed her. Scribbling onto a piece of paper, he aimed it at her desk. The note landed perfectly in front of Rie snapping her out of her trance.

She looked up at Ryoma with a questioning look. He glanced at the note, signalling for her to open it. Rie unfolded the note and read it's contents.

I've never seen you so happy to be at school before. What's up?

She smirked, scribbling back a reply. She aimed the note and flicked it onto the corner of his desk. Ryoma read the note and raised an eyebrow at Rie. She simply put a finger to her lip indicating it was a secret. Knowing it would be useless to pry any further Ryoma rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the board.

Sorry bro, but you'll just have to wait for the surprise like everyone else ;D

As lunch came around, Rie stretched out in her chair. Rolling her neck and stretching her arms out in front of her, she began to map out her plan.

'First I'll head over to the senior's floor and find Hashimoto. If I have time after that I can head to the second years and maybe talk to-'

"Echizen!" a shrill voice shrieked out as the person slammed their palm down on Rie's desk. "I've been calling you for ages, would it kill you to respond?"

Rie grimaced, rolling her eyes at whoever had the insolence to disturb her from her thoughts. She didn't bother looking up, having already recognized the voice. Even after only having been part of the class for two days she knew the only person dumb enough to try and still talk to her after having been blown off was Tomoka.

"Do you need something?" Rie spat out, trying to maintain composure. In situations like this it was best to not to pick a fight, especially when she had no time to.

Tomoka smirked. "Keep up that haughty attitude Echizen. I heard you challenged the girl's tennis team to a match. I can't wait to see you get knocked down a level."

Rie rolled her eyes and let out a scoff. "You've seen how well my brother can play tennis, so I wonder what makes you doubt my skills? Could it be that you're just so spiteful to acknowledge the fact that I could beat everyone on the team?"

By now everyone in the room had stopped talking and turned their attention to the girls' conversation.

"Oh I don't doubt it Echizen, but from the sound of it, you have to find girls who are actually willing to play against the tennis team. You're new so you may not know much, but the tennis team is actually nationally ranked. They may have lost to Rikkaidai last year, but they're still second place."

"Do you honestly think I care Tomoka? You know I'm not gonna help you get with my brother even if you do tell me any of this."

Obviously having struck a nerve, Tomoka's face turned red and she fumed with anger. "You know what Echizen, when you lose just don't forget that you bought this down upon yourself."

Rie stood up and headed to the door. As she did so Tomoka tried provoking her once more. "What Echizen? You don't have a smart ass remark to throw back at me? Did the cat finally get your tongue?"

Rie smirked and turned to face Tomoka. "You know what Tomoka, people like you live with the mentality that someone who's better off should fall down to your level. Well sorry to say this, but I have no intention of sinking down into that pathetic place where you do nothing but wish for the misery of others. So don't wave to me and tell me to come down there because I'm not going to."

With that Rie slid the door open and walked out. The room was silent for a moment before Horio sidled up to Ryoma.

"Damn Echizen and here I thought you were harsh. Your sister is definitely way worse than you."

Ryoma merely shrugged his shoulders. Tomoka had provoked Rie and she had responded. Even if he had stepped in Rie would've found a way to have had the last word. He was rather surprised though, as opposed to her usual way of handling fights she had been somewhat mature about this one. Ryoma closed his eyes and let out a small sigh, returning back to his lunch.

After walking a good distance away from the classroom Rie let out an low agitated groan. Tomoka's words hadn't hit her hard, but the fact that she had gone out of her way to provoke Rie was definitely annoying. Yes, Rie was rude, but in that case wouldn't Tomoka have left her alone rather than try to pick a fight? People were so frustrating sometimes. She shook her head and continued to the senior's floor. She stalked through the floor in search of 3-1, coming to a halt in front of the door. Clearing her throat and straightening her back, she slid the door open and walked through.

"Excuse me, but is Hashimoto Kyoko senpai here?" she asked in the most polite voice she could muster.

A senior girl with long, light pink wavy hair raised her hand. "I'm Hashimoto Kyoko."

"Ah!" she smiled. "Could I talk to you outside for a bit senpai?"

Kyoko nodded, following Rie outside.

"I'm sorry for the abruptness senpai. I'm Echizen Rie from class 1-2" she bowed. Noticing the unsettled look on Kyoko's face Rie continued on. "I'm guessing you've heard about me senpai."

She hesitantly nodded.

"Good" Rie smiled. "Then this won't take long. Senpai I need your help."

"I'm sorry Echizen-san, but I can't help you." she bowed, politely refusing.

Rie kept the smile plastered on her face. "I figured as much, but could you atleast give me a reason? Is it because you don't think I can win? Or is it because you might get bullied by the tennis team for helping me out?"

"You make some good points Echizen-san." she admitted. "But I've never played tennis before, so I don't see how I'd be of much use to the team anyway."

"That doesn't matter, I'd train you guys anyway. Rookies are easier to deal with than people who have played tennis before because they wouldn't be as arrogant. Besides, I've heard a few things about you senpai, like how you do archery. Archery requires a good amount of physical skill so even if you've never played tennis you've still got some physical skill. With that and my teaching you could become a pro."

"Isn't that a bit farfetched?" she questioned. "And isn't the showdown in a week? Are you that confident in your abilities?"

"Yes the showdown is in a week, yes it's a bit far fetched, and yes I'm that confident. The better question is are you willing to go along with my plan?"

"Look Echizen-san I know your brother is an amazing tennis player and you may be just as good, but this is too much. A week to teach a group of girls how to play tennis well enough to beat a nationally ranked team? That's preposterous."

"I'll have you know that Ryoma has never beat me in a tennis match. We've been trained together since childhood and only recently did I stop playing tennis. Even after 6 months of not playing I've retained my skill, so it's all up to you now. I don't doubt my teaching skills, so if you put in the effort I don't see why this wouldn't work senpai."

"You're persistent Echizen-san, but I really don't think this would work."

Rie let out a sigh. "Senpai, please just help me out. Think of this as an experiment. You can join this makeshift tennis team and leave after the challenge. I just need to show these girls that they should take tennis more seriously. They kidnapped me and wanted to make me take pictures of the boys tennis team. They focus more on the boys than tennis. It's infuriating to have to deal with people like them who joined the team to ogle guys."

"Wait they kidnapped you?" Kyoko's eyes widened at the revelation.

Rie shrugged her shoulders. "It was more of an ambush, but yes they did. Do you understand why I got myself into this mess now?"

Kyoko sighed. "I knew they were strange, but to go that far. You know what Echizen-san I'll help you, just this once. After the challenge is over, I'm out though. Okay?"

Rie smiled, bowing in gratitude. "Thank you so much senpai. I promise you by the time the match comes around we'll crush them."

"Yeah, yeah, lunch is almost over. You should hurry back to your class." she waved goodbye to Rie.

While running back, Rie made sure to turn around and wave back. "By the way you can just call me Rie, senpai."

Kyoko nodded and walked back into the classroom as Rie dashed off to her class.

Making it into the room seconds before the teacher, Rie fell into her seat while covered in sweat. She had made a mad dash back to the classroom. She hadn't realized how much time she had wasted trying to convince Kyoko, not that it wasn't well spent. She had managed to convince the older girl leaving only 3 more to deal with. Rie began plotting out how to deal with the remaining prospective members. Hours passed as she scribbled away in her notebook, only realizing class had ended when others began shifting their seats around. After packing her bag she raced out of the room to the second years' floor.

"2-8…" she muttered to herself. "2-8"

Rie had found the classroom and tumbled back in surprise when the door suddenly flew open.

"Oh, Rie!" Momoshiro shouted out, looking down at her with a smile.

"Momo senpai." she nodded, acknowledging his presence.

"Did you come to meet me or something?"

Rie held back a scoff, she barely knew the boy. What would make him think that she came to see him? "No, I was actually wondering if Mitsui Airi senpai was still here." she said, trying to peer behind Momoshiro and into the classroom.

He side stepped out of her way, allowing her to pass through. "Mitsui? She's over there." he said, pointing to a petite lavender haired girl. She stood at her desk, stuffing books into her bag while trying to keep her bangs out of her eyes.

"Thanks senpai!" Rie quickly waved at Momoshiro and rushed into the room.

"No problem. Once you're done with whatever, you should come check out our practice."

"I'll think about it." she shouted back, hoping he would leave quickly. As if he had read her mind he walked away from the room leaving Rie to continue with her plan.

"Excuse me, Mitsui Airi senpai?" she asked.

Airi looked up, swiping her bangs away from her eyes. "Yes?"

Rie bowed, introducing herself. "I'm Echizen Rie from class 1-2."

Airi nodded. "Okay? Do you need something Rie chan?"

Rie tilted her head in slight confusion. "Haven't you heard about me?"

Airi chuckled. "Well yes I have, in fact I'd be more surprised if someone in the school didn't know about the gutsy freshman who challenged our nationally ranked team to a tennis match."

"Then don't you know why I'm here?" she asked, still ever so confused.

Airi smiled. "Well I'm guessing you want me to help you out, right?"

Rie nodded still rather dumbstruck. This senpai was a bit strange.

"Well I'd love to Rie chan, but aren't you going to invite me to join you?"

"Didn't I just invite you though?"

Airi shook her head. "No I used my deductive skills to find out what you wanted. You still have yet to ask me."

It was official, this girl was weird. Rie had no idea what to think about Airi. She didn't seem like the type to fool around, but maybe this was an act? Her head was completely muddled trying to decipher Airi's behavior. Rie sighed and decided to try anyway. "Well then Mitsui senpai, do you want to join my unofficial tennis team?"

Airi smiled, taking Rie's hands into her own. "I'd love to Rie chan, when does practice begin?"

"Tomorrow, after school."

Airi pulled out a pen and grabbed Rie's hand, flipping it over so her palm was facing outward. Scribbling her number onto Rie's hand she smiled. "Call me or text me if you need to. And you can just call me Airi senpai. I'll see you tomorrow, Rie chan."

Rie slowly nodded her head as Airi skipped away. "What a strange senpai…"

After having stood in the now empty classroom for some time, Rie walked out to be surprised by another familiar face.

"Aha! There you are little one!" Kimiko shouted pointing a finger out at Rie.

"Kimiko senpai?" Rie stared at Kimiko. As expected she didn't have her uniform on, but instead wore a pleated black mini skirt, a hot pink mid length sleeved baggy t-shirt decorated with a large black bow in the top center, and beige flats. She had lightly curled her chestnut colored hair and placed a thick black headband in her hair to top off the outfit.

"That's right, little one!" she smiled. "From my sources I heard that you've managed to get Hashimoto to agree and judging from your expression, Mitsui is on board too. I'm not quite sure how you plan on beating those psychotics, but I want in."

Rie raised an eyebrow at the girl. "You want in? I don't mean to be offensive when I say this, but you do know that we want to win right?"

Kimiko rolled her eyes. "Well of course you want to win. I'm not expecting any less from you."

"You know you're the only one who has confidence in my skill."

Kimiko began to examine her nails while speaking. "Rather than confidence in your skill, I like your attitude. Even if you do go down I know it won't be without a fight. Not to mention if you let me in on your plan there's no reason I wouldn't be confident about it. I mean any plan with me involved is bound to succeed."

"Well aren't you modest senpai?"

Kimiko's lips went up into a small smile as she winked at Rie. "I know things about the school, the students, and even some things about the teachers that no one else does. I think you're smart enough to understand why my plans always succeed."

Rie thought for a bit. Kimiko did help her out yesterday and even though she had her line up planned out and everything an extra person wouldn't hurt. Especially considering Kimiko was basically offering whatever services she could to Rie.

"Why do you want in on this plan anyway senpai? I mean you don't seem like the type to have any interest in tennis." Rie spoke, gesturing towards Kimiko's outfit.

Kimiko scoffed. "Sports? Exercise? Unless you count speed walking in the shopping district as cardio and lifting shopping bags as lifting weights then no I don't do sports. But I can make an exception. Honestly I find this whole situation entertaining and it's the perfect opportunity to get more dirt on people. I can get info while you get an extra member, it's a win-win situation for both of us."

Rie nodded. "You make some pretty good points Kimiko senpai. You're in."

Kimiko smiled, handing Rie her phone. "Here, add your number. While you're at it pass me your phone."

Rie complied pulling her phone out of her bag. As they both tapped away, Kimiko began asking questions about Rie's plan.

"So who's your next person?"

"Kano Saori, 2-5. Volleyball girl from what you told me."

They passed back their respective phones.

"Ah yes, Kano Saori." Kimiko placed her index finger on her chin, thoughtfully. "I'm pretty sure I got some more dirt on her. Give me a second."

She hummed, trying to place her thoughts together. "Yes, yes Kano Saori. Right now she should be in the gymnasium practicing volleyball."

"Well I could've figured that much out on my own." Rie muttered.

Kimiko glared at Rie. "Don't give me that tone of voice. I heard some other things about her. Today she has clean up duty meaning that she's gonna be putting all the balls and nets away. It's the perfect opportunity to talk to her. She's also completely terrified of-"

"There you are Egawa!" Nakazawa shouted, pointing her finger at the girl. "I didn't catch you sneaking out of the school building for once so I figured you might have turned over a new leaf and decided to actually go to detention. And here I see you speaking to an underclassmen?"

"Oh shit…" Kimiko muttered. "I'll text you later. See ya!" She waved goodbye and dashed off.

Nakazawa fumed. "Egami! Get back here!" she hurriedly stomped after the girl whose figure was no longer visible.

Rie watched, rather impressed. 'Kimiko said she doesn't do exercise, but she sure did run off pretty quickly. Whatever, I guess it's time to go find Kano Saori. Hopefully this won't be too difficult.'
