Kohana-sensei

"Confidence comes from discipline and training." - Robert Kiyosaki.

"You did what?"

"Please Kohana-san, keep it down. She had a long training time today and I don't want her to be-"

"What have you two been doing this week?" She cut him off in an angry tone. "Why didn't you tell me she wanted to read huh?" He frowned, "You came home so late and looked like you could attack anyone, so I didn't want to have my own funeral yet." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, "Well, then. You can stop coming by for now. I will teach her all she needs for the academy. And I'll do it so good, I guarantee she'll enroll around the age of 6." She said with confidence in her voice.

"But Kohana-san… what about work?" He asked scratching his chin, and she sighed which gave him a bad vibe. "Didn't anyone tell you? I'm retiring." It was quiet, he had the same expression for at least 30 seconds before he almost dropped his chin on the floor.

"What really? Why? You love work." She only shrugged, "I'm quite old for this, and being home taking care of someone isn't so bad after all. Like you said, I would change my mind if I actually had someone to look after." She walked away to the main entrance and opened it.

"I'm leaving you to my position, like you always wanted." The blond man furrowed his eyebrows, "Kohana you are one of our best doctors,"

"So what? I trust you to do a great job, and even Yachi may have a chance in the future." She looked down. "A little doubtful of that." She told herself more than him. But the man wasn't convinced. "I don't understand you Kohana. From the first school year we had, to this moment, I never did get your motivations for anything."

"Here I thought you would be happy for the new raise I gave you." She said and stepped out, he followed her. "Not really, I was happy on how we had it before. I didn't mind staying with Chie this week, her Kekkei Genkai was just too interesting." She faced him, looking deep in his eyes.

"About that Makoto. Did she tell you why she never showed me this speciality?" He looked away from her gaze, but h knew she would catch him lying. Damn woman. "You never do talk to her I guess, she is tired to be treated like a handicap."

"But she has a handicap!"

"You never gave her the chance to show you what she knew." She huffed, "Thanks for opening my eyes Makoto. You can leave now." She said, almost sarcastically. "Can I at least visit her on my free days?" She chuckled, "Depends, free days don't come cheap. Not when you're a Head now."

He walked by her and bid her goodbye, strolling down the street. Kekkei Genkai huh? That child was indeed special, and she was gonna prove that to whoever doubted.

"Good morning Chie." Kohana said with a smile, when the small girl stepped out from her room, she walked to the table to sit on one of the chairs. "Good morning granny." Kohana twitched at the nickname, but she let it pass. Damn Makoto must have learned the kid that.

"I made pancakes if you want some." She took the plate with fresh new breakfast and placed it on the table. "Makoto doesn't wanna come back here anymore right?" Chie asked as she filled her mouth with one pancake. "You heard us?" She nodded her head, "I liked him. Don't take it harshly, I like you too but Makoto was more, um." She was looking into her caretakers eye for the word, "Child friendly?" Chie nodded once more.

Kohana sighed, for the hundredth time this week possibly. "Well, I hope you get used to me from now on." She said and sat down besides the girl. "I've been living with you for the past 2 years now granny, I think I'm already used to you."

"True."

"So that's how it works huh? It's not strange that you have such a high chakra level for your age." Kohana said tilting the girl's chin up to see Chie's eyes. The white fog that took over her pretty blue (or that what she thought the color was) eyes. They sat together outside in the garden on the porch behind the house.

"So on how you describe it, you see chakra lines on how people, or objects, looks like?" She nodded, "Like drawings."

"Drawings?"

"Yeah, their chakra defines on how they look like. And because everything has chakra, I see everything like it was drawn by someone." Chie said and looked at the flowers in the garden. Kohana followed her gaze. "What about colors?"

"Well that's something harder to explain. Because colors aren't objects, but something that explains and can't be touched. I guess I just go with the vibe of the chakra." The older woman raised an eyebrow. "How do you mean by going with the vibe?"

"Colors are usually on objects no? Let's say we talk about clothes, like your doctor uniform. It's white right? So I already know your chakra lines and how you look, so they clothes you wear is only an extra that gives out an vibe. How dark and light affect your eyes, the vibe affect my chakra to understand what color it is."

This kids explains better than most nurses, and even doctors in the hospital. Kinda gave Kohana the hibbie jibbies. "So you need the chakra to see people?"

"Not when I already know them. I've already 'identified' you, and you never change yourself. Plus I already know the house like my pocket so there is really no need to use it when we are alone. Although," She she looked back at Kohana, "I never had the full chance to identify Makoto-san, I'm kinda sad because of it." She said and lowered her head.

"Uh- uhh, well I'm still here. So that's why you have so much chakra, you use it just to see. And am I correct when I think you use different amount of chakra to different things."

"Yes." Kohana rose up, and walked out to her garden. She took a leaf that had fallen from her tree, and walked back to the porch where the girl sat. "Then sticking a leaf to you body wouldn't be such a hard task." She sat back down next to the girl and attached the leaf on her forehead.

"This practise is usually used by teachers in the academy to teach kids how to focus their chakra to keep the leaf on their bodies for a long time. Although it can also be taught not to get distracted while focusing the chakra on the leaf. And because you use your chakra almost all the time and still do other things while at it, I'm sure you're already a pro at this."

Chie's eyes looked around the garden, she already knew every single flower. And after this week of intense reading, (it was mostly her demand that Mikoto teach her to read quick so she could read books, at least in Romaji) she already knew the names of the flowers.

kohana rose once again and got another leaf which she plastered on Chie's arm this time. "Your chakra control is like beginner medic, a very good sign. If you continue like this, you would become an excellent medic-nin."

"What about becoming an Anbu?" Kohana twitched and with a burning glance looked at her. "Don't you even dare." She tilted her head, "I've heard about special Anbu forces called hunter-nin in Kirigakure. They hunt down missing nin and then dis-"

"If you haven't got that thought out of your head until your 10th birthday, I will personally trap you in my basement."

"You don't have a basement."

"Anywhere is fine." The lady crossed her arms, "Okay, I won't become an Anbu. But I don't wanna be a medic nin either…" Kohana scratched the girl's hair. "I'll let you choose whatever you want to be, as long it's not going against me or the village. Or an Anbu." Chie smiled and nodded.

It began to darken, and Chie still sat on the porch with now 5 leaves on her. "Still going good Chie?" Kohana asked while making dinner. She turned to the kitchen and nodded with one leaf on her forehead and two on her cheeks. She had been sitting there for at least 6 hours straight, and her butt hurt a lot. So she rose and walked in the kitchen.

"Can I walk around town, it's boring outside. And it's gonna be a challenge to see the surroundings and still keep all the five leaves on." She said innocently. "Fine, but come back home as soon as possible. I don't want to try to find you later." Chie smiled and walked out the door to her new small adventure in the town.

She had seen the town before, when she snuck out time to time. So at least she knew some of her surroundings. She walked through town, and wouldn't lie that she lost two of her five leaves. To take in the new people and stores and still keep all five leaves was impossible at this age.

Although one of all the people caught her interest. Spiky blonde hair and deep blue eyes. She already knew who he was, she had already talked about him. He was walking around town like she was, alone, without parents. She wanted to meet the boy personally.
