Santa and His Elf
by Anne

Authors Note: At the end

As he's skimming the next letter, Jack can't help but glancing over at the empty couch. He has a weird feeling about this mimic device thing. He decides to go investigating and interrogating one little Daniel later.

This letter comes from far far away and Santa Jack immediately feels an uneasy feeling. Atlantis. That's where they were heading in their own storyline. Somehow. He's not sure exactly yet, how, but he has a feeling Atlantis is going to have a star role sooner or later.

He knows John Shepherd, good man, skilled pilot.

And currently four years old?

Yikes.

He knows Rodney MacKay too and thinks that gifting him with a gag would maybe... but he's not going to write that in a letter to a four year old who isn't quite all that adult-ish anymore.

Smiling at some of the wishes of this little fella Jack reaches for paper.

Oh, but before he starts... He calls for his elf, hoping the little old guy has calmed down by now. With a low pop he appears, indicating a slight bow. "You called me, Santa?"

"Uh, yeah. I need it to snow in... the Pegasus Galaxy?"

"Is this another special wish?"

"I guess so. Is it do-able? Could be a weather anomaly. Nothing that interferes with the storyline?"

"On Christmas Day," the elf says, "It is doable. We will see if the author is willing to do it." And with another pop he's gone.

"Well, thanks!" Jack calls after him. Then he picks up the pen.

"Dear John,

Thank you for your letter. It has traveled a very long way but it got here safe.

I'm right there with you about giving Ronan and you Super Soakers! They're totally cool and I know just the thing the two of you might love. I can't encourage you to shoot the gee... scientists so please don't get caught. 'winks'

I'm working on the snow thing, too. So watch out for it. Do you have the possibility to go to the mainland with Teyla? If so, I'll provide you with sleds too.

I know SG-1 are very busy saving the world and doing all this heroic stuff. And General O'Neill is very busy too, sitting at his desk in DC. But you know what? I'm sure they'll show up for a visit sometime soon. Maybe when it snows – so you can all go sledding together. But as my elf tells me, this is up to your author, really, so I'm not sure I can make this promise. But I'll see what I can do, okay? Maybe you could prod Sam a little to just invite them over. Asking won't hurt.

I think I can arrange the coffee and Ding Dongs for Rodney. And maybe cheese to go with all his w(h)ine... (the magic pen refuses to type the last bit so it gets deleted)... I'm sorry, I don't think there's an AC (Anonymous Coffee addictive) in Pegasus. Not even here. Though it would really do the Daniel Jacksons some good.

I can't make you big again, John. It's against the rules and I know it really, really sucks – I'm probably not supposed to say 'suck' as Santa, but when it's true, it's true. But I can most definitely assure you that you'll get to stay on Atlantis. And that they'll all take good care of you, because they don't want you to leave either. So I'm sure that Colonel Carter will see to it that they can make it work for you to stay.

Besides, I will make sure you'll get a helmet and knee pads. One that looks real cool, too. Though you might want to ask Colonel Carter how she expects you to ride your skateboard wearing a helmet if she didn't get you one right away? But that's just on a side note.

Getting you a dog is a little tricky. You'll have to talk this through with Colonel Carter, but a dog needs to get out to run and play. It can't be held inside the city all the time. You'd need to find a way to take him to a forest or a park to let him play. And it would be nice if he gets to meet other dogs he can rough house with when you take him out. So I'm not sure a dog would like staying confined to the city all the time. Unless you have the possibility to go to the mainland on a regular basis...

I'll better get this letter out to you now. I'm not sure how long it takes from the North pole to the Pegasus Galaxy. I hope it'll reach you in time for the holidays.

Merry Christmas to you!

Santa"

When the letter to the littled Colonel John Sheppard has disappeared, Jack decides it's time to interrogate the Wretch about his newest brainchild for Christmas Camp.

Author's Note: I did NOT write this and it's not a fic in the way one would normally think of a fic. This was written by Anne from the stargatedrabbles list who's Jack from one of her fic series played "Santa" for a list challenge back in December 2009 in which authors had their 'littles' write a letter to Santa. The previous fic in this series was my little John's letter, this is Santa's reply. Other than a few minor grammar corrections, this fic is completely unaltered. As such, it had no title, so I put one on it just be consistent. It is posted here, to be included with my series, with the writers consent.
