Desert Dreams
Wally laid boneless between the two older teens, who were tensed as they had what could only be described as a silent conversation, a conversation that Wally could easily follow.
"Not like that!" the young Speedster scowled, "I meant why me?"
It was one thing to admit why they wanted Wally to each other, it was another to admit to said Speedster aloud.
Wally looked at them expectantly; when he got nothing but stuttered replies he sighed and started hunting for his clothes, preferable his boxers, it was getting kind of chilly.
"Wally" Kaldur finally said, gathering some courage, "we—"
"Is this only a onetime thing?"
"No!" said both of the older teens.
Wally nodded, he finally found his boxers and slipped them on, once somewhat clothed, Wally sat back down on the sofa and settled himself between them.
"So if this isn't a onetime thing, what is it exactly?"
"We like you" Roy said bluntly.
"Obviously"
"We want to have a relationship with you" Kaldur said.
"Like a trio?"
Both nodded.
"Huh" Wally then said.
"Of course" Kaldur said somewhat hurriedly, "you don't have to agree to a trio, if you want to choose just either of us…or neither"
"Huh" Wally said again, before going silent.
Roy and Kaldur looked at each other over Wally's head, nervousness in their eyes that grew the longer Wally stayed quiet.
"Okay!" Wally then said making them jump.
"O…kay?" Roy said slowly.
"Yep, wanna watch another movie?"
"Um"
Kaldur and Roy watched as Wally hopped up from the sofa and over to the movie collection.
"Wally"
Kaldur stood up and followed the younger teen; gently he took hold of the red-head's arm stopping him.
"You're okay with this?" the Atlantean asked, "with…us?"
Wally blinked before smiling, "Yeah, though it's going to be hard to explain it to Uncle Barry"
Kaldur and Roy paled at the mention of the older Speedster.
"Uh, perhaps it's best if we kept this relationship quiet" Kaldur sad hurriedly, "at least until we know where it stands"
The sparkle in the younger's eyes told Kaldur that Wally knew the real reason why he wanted to keep the relationship a secret at the moment.
Wally was not surprise to learn that Robin had a hand in his new relationship, nor was he surprise to learn that the team found out rather quickly, they were trained by the best after all.
"I feel like I should threaten you for Wally's honor or something" Conner said to Roy.
They were all in the living room where the Artemis, Ma'gann and Conner had cornered Wally, Kaldur and Roy and had demanded to know how long the three have been together.
"I think you mean virtue" Artemis said.
Wally wisely said nothing about his virtue having been happily molested.
"Why? And why just me, what about him?" Roy pointed to Kaldur.
"It's Kaldur" Conner shrugged.
Roy huffed.
Kaldur chuckled but said nothing.
"So, does Barry know?" Ma'gann asked.
"They're still alive" Robin answered with a grin.
"I don't understand" the Martian said confused, she had met the older Speedster several times and have always been so nice, she couldn't imagine him being violent to anyone who wasn't a criminal or super powered villain.
"Uncle Barry is a little overprotective" Wally admitted sheepishly.
"Little my ass" Roy mumbled.
"But he means well" Kaldur said.
"You're still not going to tell him though, are you?" Robin asked.
Kaldur didn't answer.
Joan, Jay, Iris, and Barry had the prefect relationship in many eyes, and were sometimes envied among some of the heroes, not even Louis and Superman had what they had.
It took a strong bond to last as long as they did, considering the circumstances, and Wally wanted that. Wanted what his Uncle, Aunt, Joan, and Jay had, wanted to come home to a warm smile and even warmer arms. To be selfish and not be judged for it, to voice his worries knowing that the person would still love him despite them, to be strong for him when he couldn't or didn't have the will to be anymore. He wanted a shoulder to cry on when the day was bad or had become much.
He wanted that and so much more.
Roy and Kaldur could give him that.
At least Wally thought it was a possibility.
For one thing, they were Heroes like him, they understood his troubles, understood his responsibility. They had experienced the ups and downs of the Hero life, and they seem to understand him.
Personality wise they seemed good for him, Kaldur with his calm serene nature, gentle voice and kind eyes, leader of the team it was no doubt in Wally's mind that the Atlantean would be a leader in the relationship. Though not in terms of being the dominant but more on terms with being the voice of reason, Wally could see numerous arguments between him and Roy being settled by Kaldur.
Roy on the other hand, was to put it simply, a hot-head. Blunt, hard-headed and extremely serious, with a free spirit like Wally you would think it wouldn't be a match, but it was. Roy had never been afraid to tell you what was on his mind or what everyone else was thinking, and Wally needed that. Not to say he wasn't blunt either but it was more of a mouth to filter kind of thing, what he needed was someone to tell him when he was out of line. To pull him back from the edge of the shaky cliff, Kaldur would probably be too polite to do so but Wally knew Roy was just the one for the job. He needed the seriousness too, as said before Wally was a free spirit, always wanting to run, with Roy at his side, he'd no doubt learn to stop running if only for a second. Of course that seriousness would no doubt cause many problems in the relationship, which was way Kaldur was needed.
The two balanced him, and each other.
Trying to tell that to his overprotective Uncle though was a different story all together.
"You, Roy, and Kaldur seem to be spending a lot of time together"
Wally froze; slowly he turned away from the television to look at his Uncle who was sitting beside him.
"Uh…" the young Speedster said.
"It's good that you three are getting close"
Wally gave a nervous smile, inwardly he was panicking, though he shouldn't be surprised after all it's been three weeks since he, Kaldur and Roy had gotten together, and while the Team had promised to keep it a secret it was rather obvious to their mentors and the rest of the League that something was going on.
Wally just hoped his Uncle wouldn't have noticed.
"Though you should probably spend time with Dick too, he may get jealous" Barry said with a teasing grin.
"Yeaahhh, about that"
Barry looked at his nephew, the younger hands fidgeting, the older man frowned worriedly.
"Wally? What's wrong? Did something happen?" Barry was already up on feet, ready to call the League.
"Wait, wait, wait! Uncle Barry wait! It's not like that!"
Barry paused.
"Um, okay sit down"
Slowly the older meta sat back down on the couch, blue eyes staring at his nephew.
"Okay, so don't freak out, but um I'm dating"
"Okay, not the end of the world or a reason for you to be so nervous ab—"
"With two people!" Wally blurted out interrupting his Uncle.
Barry froze, blinked then blinked, "I'm not sure my brain is following correctly" Barry finally said, "did you tell me that you're che—"
"They know of each other" Wally interrupted again.
"They kno—You mean you're in a Triad?"
"Yeah"
Barry scratched the back of his head, his face was scrunched up vary emotions, but none of them disgust.
"Well it's…unusual, but like I said, not the end of the world"
The breathe he didn't know he was holding let out and Wally slumped back against the sofa.
"So who—"
Wally tensed when his Uncle's eyes widen in realization.
"Are you serious!?"
This was going to be a long day.
