Yay! I'm finally updating this story! Hang on! I will finish this story!
Hours in flight: 3
For about a half and hour, the six of them chatted amiably. Slowly, as they ran out of topics to cover, they lapsed into a bored silence.
"So Sid, have you got anything else interesting in that carry-on of yours? You always do." Holley asked.
"Let me check," after much wrestling to get the bag out of the overhead, it came tumbling down, narrowly missing Mater's head. He lugged it to his seat and pulled open the zipper.
"Let's see," he murmured, "I've got two booklets of Mad Libs a set of walkie-talkies and three containers of Silly Putty."
"First off." Lightning spoke up, "Leave the Silly Putty in your bag. That stuff is naturally drawn to fabric items and unless you want your area to look like the Silly Putty plant exploded all over you, leave it alone."
"Fine, so what do you want to do?"
"Let's play with the walkie-talkies!" Sally smiled. I'd like to see how yours work. The only ones I've worked are the cheap ones from Wal-Mart.
"Sure!" Sid tossed her one.
Sally was impressed by the designs of the radio. After fiddling with the buttons for a few minutes she tossed it back to Sid.
"I give up!" she conceded. Sid turned the radio on and threw it back to her with basic instructions of its workings.
"Can we talk on them?" she asked.
"We'll just pretend to. We don't want to spook anyone by turning them on." he stood up and took a good look at Finn and Lightning before lifting the radio to his lips.
"We have a situation. We have two male passengers aboard who answer the descriptions of two terrorists wanted by the United States. The first suspect has blond hair and is wearing a jacket with the numbers 95 on the back. Second suspect has black hair and is wearing a pair of kaki dress pants with a cerulean dress shirt with no tie. Suspects are highly dangerous and should be apprehended immediately. The locations of the suspects are in row 26."
Sally laughed and replied, "Suspects are confirmed and suspect 2 has a suspicious bulge in his jacket."
Sid and Sally doubled up in laughter, getting irritated glances from the other passengers.
"What is going on back their?!" Finn shot a glare towards them.
"Nothing." Sally shot him her sweetest smile.
"Who's idea was it for all the crazies to sit together?" Lightning asked.
"It was everyone's Lightning McQueen!" Sally glared, "And would you rather have the 'crazies' as you call us sitting together to entertain ourselves or would you rather have us trying to entertain ourselves around you?"
Lightning and Finn shared a glance before saying in unison, "together."
"All right then, let's not complain."
As the time went by, they noticed that the flight crew seemed to be watching their section more then usual with wary looks on their faces.
"Finn what's going on?" Holley asked her partner quietly.
"I don't know Holley but you'd better be on your guard. I don't like how the flight crew is acting. There could be trouble."
Holley sat back in her chair and took a deep breath and mentally prepared a contingence plan incase of an emergency.
Suddenly, Mater's drawl came from the back of the group, "Lightning told you not to play with that."
"Play with what Mater?" Lightning groaned, predicting the answer.
"That stupid putty or whatever it's called."
"First off it's silly putty, not stupid putty, but you know, anyone could make that mistake."
"Ha ha," Sid said dryly as molded the putty in his hands.
"Sid. Don't you remember the time you got that stuff stuck to Nathan's chair?" Finn asked, referring to the director of C.H.R.O.M.E.
"Yeah! He walked around with bits stuck to his back all day! It was hilarious!"
"Glad you think so Sid. Now hand over the putty please." Finn turned to face him.
"Fine," he murmured as he threw the putty toward Finn's open hand.
Finn caught the putty neatly and began shaping it absently into a brick.
"Are you making it look like a plastic explosive?" Lightning asked.
He looked down at his hands, "I guess I am!" He laughed before sticking it to the window.
Just then, a man wearing the uniform of a flight attendant approached the people in front of them with a drink tray. He cast a wary glance at Finn and Lightning as he started to pass out the refreshments.
"Hey Finn do you have an extra pen?" Lightning held up a note pad.
"Yeah. Just a second." Finn stood up and started to reach into his jacket for the pen he kept there.
Suddenly, the attendant was in front of him, "Sir I'm going to have to ask you to keep your hands where I can see them."
Finn raised his hands slowly, "I don't know what is going on here."
Lightning started to snicker but stopped when the attendant said, "Same for you sir, hands up."
He pulled several plastic zip ties from his pocket, "You are being held for suspected terrorism and we'll turn you over to the authorities when we land."
"Wait a minute!" Finn looked the man in the eyes, "My name is Finn McMissile and I am an agent for C.H.R.O.M.E. Why would I be a terrorist?"
Several more attendants moved to stand behind their friend.
Finn reached inside his jacket for his wallet, "I can prove who I am."
"Sir, please remove your hand from your jacket."
"Just give me a moment and we can clear this up."
"Sir-"
"Just one moment!" Finn snapped as he started to withdraw his black wallet.
As he was going to produce his credentials, Finn suddenly felt several pairs of hands grabbing him and pulling his hand from his jacket. Before he could react, a plastic zip-tie was pulled tight around his wrists and he was forced back into his chair and several more zip-ties were secured around his ankles and thighs.
"I'm telling you! You're making a mistake-" Finn was cut short by a piece of tape being slapped over his mouth.
Finn looked over to see that they had done the same thing to Lightning. The two shot each other bewildered looks.
"Look at that! They were planning to blow up the plane!" a female flight attendant pointed to the silly putty in the shape of a plastic explosive still stuck to the window.
Finn rolled his eyes expecting Holley to say something at any moment.
When she didn't, he looked back to find that she was asleep on Sally's shoulder. When the attendants finally left them alone, Sally turned to Sid, "Sid! Could they have heard what we said?! We had the radios off though!"
"I don't know! I didn't think that they were on!"
Suddenly a small squawking came from Sid's carry-on. Digging frantically, Sid pulled out one of the radios and noticeably paled when he saw that the switch was turned to the 'on' position.
"Sally I think that they did! What on earth are we going to do?!"
"You're the spy! You tell me!"
Sally's tone awakened Holley who sleepily asked, "What's going on? Have you guys figured out why the crew is so jumpy?"
"Uh, yeah we did. Holley and I were playing around with the walkie-talkies and we were pretending that Finn and Lightning were terrorist suspects. We had them turned of, or so we thought, and now they think that they really are terrorists!"
Holley jumped up and peered over the seats and Finn and Lightning before sitting back down.
"Well congratulations, you have just won the award of making this the most interesting jam you've gotten us into yet Sid."
"It was an accident!"
"Okay calm down!" Sally called out, "Can't we just tell them that we were playing, show them your C.H.R.O.M.E IDs and get this cleaned up?" Sally broke in.
"I'm willing to try," Sid shrugged, "Things can't get any worse can they?"
Suddenly something outside the window caught Holley's attention, "Uh, Sid? I think it just did."
