I smashed my head against the wall repeatedly as I tried to get rid of Subaru's... image. Why must all the brothers here be so gorgeous and undeniably good looking? It would've made my life a whole lot more easier if they looked like my friends.
"There is something that I must tell you."
All my worries flew right out the window, and my ears instantly perked up at the voice coming from afar, detecting the possibility of a gossip. Don't get me wrong, I don't exactlylike butting my head into other people's conversations, but I just like knowing.Knowing stuff to joke to them about it later on, knowing secrets to blackmail them, and basically knowing things to make that person's life a living hell afterwards. Now that I think about it, does that make me a busy body? Hmm.. too late now. I'm already inching towards that voice source.
"What about it?" Another voice questioned, and I couldn't help but wonder why those two voices sounded so familiar.
"Haven't we been together for a long time?" I swallowed loudly, getting the gist of where this conversation might possibly lead to.
"That's right." I poked my side outside the rails to look down to the living room.
"But lately, when I'm with you, I feel different." My eyes widened as I took note of the two down there. Tsubaki and Azusa. Oh. My. God. Wheels started turning in my head as I thought of different possibilities. What? Why? How? They were brothers, no? To make it worse, they were twins! Let's just hope that they weren't going to say what I think they were going to say.
"But lately, I feel different." Tsubaki continued. My head started feeling light. Perhaps next time, I should have thought twice about eavesdropping other people's conversations.
I didn't even realize when Subaru came out of the bathroom. He stood next to me, looking worriedly at my pale face.
"What's wrong?" He asked slowly, as if I would faint any time. In fact, I just might.
"My heart beats faster when I'm with you, and no matter what I do, I just can't calm it down. When you get close to others, I start getting jealous. I.." Tsubaki paused for dramatic effect, "I love you. Become mine."
I couldn't help it anymore. I started choking on my spit and couldn't stop. Subaru quickly rushed to my side, his hands flailing everywhere as he tried to calm me down. I would've thought of it to be adorable if I wasn't on the verge of death.
"What's going on?" Tsubaki questioned climbing up the stairs, a cheeky smile on his face as his other arm looped around Azusa's shoulder.
Instantly, all the choking stopped. I wasted no time scooting behind Subaru's back, hiding my flushed face and keeping my eyes on anywhere but the twins.
"My, my, Subaru. What did you do to Kyo-chan to make her so flushed." Tsubaki joked with a wink, turning Subaru redder than I did as he tried to stutter out the reason.
Azusa gave out a sigh as he hit Tsubaki's head lightly. He gave me a small smile as he took a step towards me but I unconsciously took two steps back. He gave me a confused look but stayed where he was.
"Don't mind him. How are you feeling? You don't look so good."
I was doing fine until I heard you jerks talking, thank you very much. Was it even possible? It was incest! Are those two really twins? Perhaps they weren't exactly brothers, and maybe they really do have a relationship?
"Are you two lovers?" Everyone's eyes widened as my hands flew to my mouth. No, no, no, no.Did I say that? Dear lord, tell me I didn't. Everyone gave me a long stare. Yup, I definitely said it.
A quick smile appeared on Tsubaki's face that I barely took notice of. He hugged Azusa tightly.
"It's mutual love."
My eyes rolled to the back of my head as Subaru's eyes widened. He managed to grab hold of my arm before I completely stumbled onto my butt.
"W-What do you mean?" Subaru asked, looking at the twins in disbelief, his hand still wrapped tightly around my arm.
Was this some kind of a joke? Perhaps I was dreaming? I slammed my head onto Subaru's shoulder, which was very hard by the way, ignoring his exclamation of surprise. That hurts, so nope, not a dream.
There was an awkward silence as we all stared at one another. Was I supposed to wish them good luck? Or a healthy relationship? Was I supposed to promise them that I would keep the secret? Or perhaps tell them that I would support them no matter what?
Tsubaki gave both Subaru's and my uncomfortable stances a once over, before giving out a hearty laugh, his hands slapping his knees. Azusa merely smiled a little, his other hand went up to massage his temples.
"Maa... really, Tsubaki? It's just her first day here."
Tsubaki gave out a wheeze. "Both Subaru's and her reactions are worth it!"
Subaru and I shared a questioning look. Tsubaki decided to take pity on us.
"We were just practicing our script." He finally revealed.
"Script?" I didn't really understand, but since Subaru's tense form seemed to loosen up, that itself probably meant good news.
"We're both voice actors, and we're just practicing for our next job." Tsubaki explained, still looking amused at the whole ordeal.
Oh. Oh. My mouth hang open as understanding dawned to me. It felt as though a heavy weight was lifted my body. Relief seemed to be my first reaction, followed by embarrassment. That misunderstanding was probably even more embarrassing than wetting my pants on the first day of school.
After embarrassment came annoyance. Annoyed that I was being pranked on. It was fun pranking on others, but when you're the victim, it was not so fun anymore. I knew it was some kind of karma, but since I'm still immature about it, I let discontent show on my face.
My mouth twitched in irritation, and I swung my towel into Tsubaki's face. It wasn't a hard throw, but just enough to show my dissatisfaction, ignoring the brothers' confused faces.
"Good night," I muttered. I couldn't help but feel bad after leaving such a poor impression on the brothers as I walked away. Sure, they were just having fun, and I was immature.
I entered the elevator.
"Wait!" I considered shutting the elevator, but since it was Subaru, I relented.
He gave me a small smile as he entered, standing next to me.
"Tsubaki doesn't have any ill intentions, trust me. He just likes joking around."
I gave a groan. "I know. I just don't know why I am feeling extra cranky today."
Subaru's cheeks reddened.
"No, Subaru, I am not on my period today." I deadpanned. Subaru's face reddened even more as he tried to stutter out an apology.
Beep!
I gave an amused laugh and was just about to bid Subaru good night only to realize he had already exited the elevator. I blinked, before running to catch up with him before the elevator closes.
"I thought you live on the 3rd floor?" I asked, staring at the walls to make sure that I was on the 4th floor.
He brought his hand to scratch his head in an almost embarrassed manner.
"I'm just bringing you to your room so you don't get lost."
I hid a wide smile that threatened to stretch across my face as I unlocked my room, ignoring the giddy feeling. Somehow, it felt good to have a person caring for you.
"Thanks. Really appreciate it. Night, Subaru."
"Good night, Kyo."
As I plopped onto the bed, the smile remained on my face. Out of all the brothers, I felt as though Subaru was the easiest to get along with. If anything, today's events, including being Tsubaki's prank victims, had helped us bond even more.
I laid on the bed contently, getting ready to sleep, before realizing one thing.
I didn't shower yet.
Soooooo... that's it for this chapter :)
It's been a long while since I updated, so sorry about that!
Oh yeah! Almost forgot about it. Tell me which brothers you want to have more "screen time" in the story. I'd like to know (and add the scenes for you lovely readers accordingly)
Reviews are love.
